Brother's catch up

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie called Jay and invited him to meet him out at Harry's for a drink and a chat. There might be a phone call home as well while they are together

Icarus has posed:
It had been a while since they'd had time together. Especially alone. Jay bundled up in his winter gear and drove up for the visit from their place in NYC. Although that might change soon. Something to talk to his brother about once they are catching up.

He came in the door, stomping his boots off on the mat for that purpose then headed toward the table with the familiar blond head. He took off his heavy coat, revealing a blue t-shirt under a gray hoodie. They went with the baggy jeans. No sign of wings anywhere.

"Hey!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will stand from where he is sitting at one of the tables. He will hug his brother when het gets near. "Hey there little bro, how are you doing?" He will ask the other. Sam is smiling and seems in a good mood.

Icarus has posed:
The hug was returned with the required three back thumps of a hand before they parted. Jay slid into his side of the booth, grinning as she server came over. For him it was a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. And a milkshake because why not?

Sam would have his chance to order as well. Then Jay turned his attention to his brother once the server was on her way. "Haven't had much chance to talk of late. Not since your last visit. Man, that was a rough couple of days," he says with a good natured chuckle.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and he orders the same but a beer instead of the milk shake. He looks over to his brother, and says "Sorry about that, but I needed some advice. Hope it aint going to be to hard when Andrea finds out she said yes." He smiles over at his brother. "Got her granny and grampa's permission to ask for her hand. Asked her up on a mountain ledge in Italy looking out over her family's vineyard.

Icarus has posed:
"Daaaamn." Jay lets out a low whistle of appreciation for the setting. "You went all out there. Glad she said yes. You two are great together. She's been so good for you," Jay says honestly. "She brings out your good traits, not your bad." Like a few of his old girlfriends seemed to bring out the opposite at times.

"I'll likely just get more hints and puppy dog eyes. I just...I dunno. Not sure how to make the perfect moment like you did. When she has everything, does everything. It's all just old hack for her no matter what I do."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to Jay and says "Alexis is rich too, I just got lucky was able to spot a nice place she had not been when I did a scouting circuit of the family place. Heck, her Papa, thats her grandpa, gave me a bottle of wine for the picnic we had that she told me later was probably worth more than Ma's farm.

Icarus has posed:
"I just haven't found that spot, I guess. Anything we discuss, she's already done. Or been to. Or toured. Or something." Jay brushes his hair back from his forehead with a hand.

It's that moment their food is delivered. Jay eyes Sam's beer a moment then sips his milkshake. He's driving after all so had to behave. And it would be a long drive.

"Was it good? Or did you get too scared to open it then?" he asks of the wine.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "I had already opened it before I knew, yea it was good, it was one that was bottled when she was born. Only like 9 or so of them left." He looks over to his brother, and hmms a bit "What about the mansion, where you two first met one another?""

Icarus has posed:
"Maybe. Just seems so meh though. She says she would be happy if I just asked at home but that doesn't seem like enough, y'know?" Jay admits as he picks up a gooey fry and pops it in his mouth. "I'm guessing I'll know it when I know it. If that makes sense.?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "Maybe take her back home, find a place that means a lot to you and share it with her. Something that says "This is me?"

Icarus has posed:
"I thought about that but a lot of those places I shared with Julia too. I wasn't sure that was right. It feels like it should be just Andrea," Jay says before munching on another fry smothered in chili and cheese. "But Xavier's isn't really right either. And the penthouse is more her than me in some ways. I never would've lived in a place like that. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous. But it's not my style. You know I'd be just as happy with a cabin in the woods. But it makes her happy. Oh, she's talking about buying a house up here in Westchester area instead. Has one she spotted she likes."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "I found a great one I would love to get but places up here way out of my price range. There is a nice one out on the other side of the lake even has a barn." He tells his brother about the place

Icarus has posed:
"Well I had to accept that Andrea has the money to get what she likes," Jay says with a shrug. "You may have to do that with Alexis. See if she likse the new place you're looking at?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, a bit and says "Alexis still has a bit before she gets full access to her money most of it is in her dad's name, going to have to be a whole court case and mess with it, looks like.

Icarus has posed:
That had Jay making a face. "Dang, sorry to hear that. So weird that people are like that. Families. It's different from how we were raised." He takes a draw off the straw in his milkshake before continuing.

"I'm sure we could help if you wanted. It's what we do. You're family after all."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Appreciate it, but right now Alexis is helping to run the school, so we will probably stay there for a while. I've been making decent with the club, actually got enough saves up to buy the twins used cars when they get old enough.

Icarus has posed:
"They'll be thrilled," Jay says with a grin. "Since it's not something that we could do." He shrugs a bit again. "It'll all work out. We'll get the details. If nothing else, the house she is wanting to get is big enough. You could probably join us there. I wonder if her brother is going to come along. I didn't think to ask."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Well might take a spare room to crash at when we visit, but I don't know if she would want us around, she might like teasing you but I am sure would get old having us around all the time.

Icarus has posed:
"Her brother lives with us now. I'm not sure how it would be different to have you living with me." It's that simple in Jay's head. "We'll see. If you are happy at the Mansion for now, that's good. If things change, just let me know."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "At least her grandparents are ok flying over this way for the wedding, still gotta talk about where she wants to have it. " He looks at his brother "So hows the music coming, get any offers after that show the other week?

Icarus has posed:
"Lots of offers. Going to be working on an album I think through Starlight. Just not sure yet. I keep being a big scattered on my music lately." Jay frowns a little as he pushes the fries around with a fork.

"I used to know who I was in my music. Now it's like I'm going fifty directions at once instead of focusing. I'm not sure if it is distraction, stress or just growing pains that all artists go through."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to him, and says "Take Andrea, and go out to a cabin for a week, spend time out in the woods, just you her, and your music. Keep the distractions to just you and her, she can work on ehr music as well.

Icarus has posed:
"May try that. We'll have to see," Jay says with another shrug and a good-natured smile. "I figure she'll want me to go see the house she's interested in soon. That might give us time away too."
