Date of Scene: 19 March 2021
Location: Atlantis
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Hulk, Aquaman

Hulk has posed:
It started as a reading on a large object coming into the ocean, followed by a steady sinking of said object as other things swarmed around it.

It came down nearby a series of ravines and underwater caves... and then slowly started to move, climbing up a ravine in large jumps.

Aquaman has posed:
With the handy thing of technology providing an exact location, and communication with a party sent to investigate, it's not hard to find the area where that object sunk into the depths of the ocean. Down deep, the pressure is immense, crushing.

For all but those with the physiology to handle those depths. Atlanteans are some that have the adaptations to be able to survive down here. Arthur was given the report and had chosen to go with the party doing the investigation. They come, riding orcas, armed, but with those weapons sheathed or held not in a guard position.

They're more curious than concerned. Arthur had decreed that these parties would include those who don't shoot first and ask questions later. The curious types. Of course, if whatever they're investigating is a threat... well. They /are/ armed.

The party nears the ravine where the object is jumping and climbing up it, Arthur leading. It's what any good leader should do. Never ask your people to do what you yourself are unwilling to do. It's a rule he lives by.

Hulk has posed:
The object suddenly pops out of the ravine like a cannonball, and lands with a slight stumble on the side of the ravine in a feral pose, all fours. The Hulk is clearly visible, and he visibly sniffs the water. Sniffs.

Looks like he's adapted for the water already... and there hasn't been any sort of test to determine how far down the frigging HULK can go. Likely he's one of the few who could do the impossible and find a way to the planets core, if he had any desire to do it.

Right now, anger twisted features glance around to the party, and he bares his teeth in an obvious warning. He's already at 15 feet, and that green stretchy uniform he's known to wear now looks a bit twisted on his frame.

Aquaman has posed:
Aquaman squints at .. whatever it is. Then blinks as he recognizes the... man.... beast...... thing? Scientist! ..from the news faxes. The people in the party with Arthur start to bristle at the bared teeth and anger. Weapons come to hand or are raised and they start forward.

Until Arthur raises a hand.

No words. Just that one motion, and the entire party comes to a stop. Arthur wave them back, and they go back to their former positions, though there is quiet grumbling, he ignores that. "Put your weapons away," he says, eyes still on the Hulk.

The grumbles are less quiet this time, but when the King issues a command, one must obey. "Your weapons won't do any good. Our cannons probably wouldn't do any good. Stay here."

With that, he 'dismounts' from the orca, though that consists mostly of letting go and floating up. Once he's clear by a little bit, he kicks in the water and moves toward the green man. "Are you lost? Do you need help?" He stops before he's, hopefully, within range to be considered a threat. He does carry his trident, but it is held with the points down and away.

Hulk has posed:
The words come out as a sort of gurgle from him.

Well, he can adapt gills, but doesn't seem to have any ability to really talk underwater that well. "Hulk was attacked somewhere in the sky, and dropped into water. Hulk has no idea where Hulk is." He looks around briefly. "Hulk hasn't fought in water much, but Hulk will SMASH if you try."

Aquaman has posed:
"You are in the Atlantic Ocean, not far from Atlantis," says Arthur, filling in at least the 'where' portion of things. "Do you know what or who attacked you?" Aquaman raises his empty hand in a placating sort of gesture. "I am not going to attack you, Hulk. I won't let my people attack you either. Please don't smash any of them." Any of /them/. He doesn't say anything about not being smashed himself! Either that hasn't occured to him, or he simply isn't worried about it. "Would you like directions on how to get back to New York or wherever you were? .. or a ride there?"

Hulk has posed:
"Hulk not going anywhere." He glances around, then he starts to swim. It's a feral leaping with swimming in between... "Hulk wants to see Atlantis. Hulk has never been able to find it." He states as he starts to bounce his way over to the towers.

Aquaman has posed:
Aquaman shakes his head as he closes his eyes for a moment. "Stubborn," he says, though his voice is quiet. Not quiet enough to not be heard by Hulk, but quiet enough not to be heard by his people. He turns and swims back to his people. "Go. Clear a path. Make sure nobody attacks Hulk. We don't have anything that can stop him, or even harm him. We'll only piss him off." With that order given, Arthur turns to swim after Hulk. His people, on the other hand, go to, as they'd been ordered, clear a path.

Hulk has posed:
If he heard Aquaman, he's ignored. Instead, Hulk just continues to leap his way. He's nowhere near as fast as the Atlanteans, but he's getting there. "Fish Man doesn't have temper like other one. Hulk will not smash." Hulk concludes as he heads for the towers.

Once in sight of them, Hulk stops, gazing around. "Fish Man is a leader here?"

Aquaman has posed:
Aquaman seems to have been designed for the water. He moves with all the grace a dolphin has in the water. Soon, he's caught up to Hulk and swims not far from him, trident on his far side away from the green guy. "Other one? Having a temper right now holds no purpose. But I thank you, for not smashing." Arthur inclines his head to Hulk, a gesture of appreciation and respect.

The question gets a nod as Arthur swims up to stop next to the big guy. "I am, yes." He doesn't comment on being called Fish Man. It's somewhat accurate. Ish. And not the worst thing he's ever been called!

Hulk has posed:
"Every time Hulk tries to find underwater cities, Hulk can never find them. Hulk is not surprised, but Hulk does like meeting people who don't try to smash Hulk." Hulk bluntly offers as he starts walking towards Atlantis. "Fish Man make good city. Humans blocky."

Aquaman has posed:
"That is because they are at the depths of the oceans, where humans cannot go. Even with the help of technology, most humans cannot ever get this deep," replies Aquaman. He inclines his head again, this time to the compliment. "Thank you. I don't want to endanger my people. If we try to smash you, you would have every reason to try to smash us back. I don't want that, so..."

And toward the city they go. As they get closer to the underwater ravine where it is, more and more of it becomes visible. It's beautiful, all curvy lines. There isn't a straight or square bit anywhere. It's much easier to survive the ocean currents, which are prevalent even this deep, that way.

As they come into the city itself, more and more of the buildings can be seen. Arthur swims next to the green guy all the while. He even points out interesting things here and there.

Then the unforseen happens. A child swims out into the street and straight up to Hulk. The boy looks up at him with big, round eyes. "Are you the Hulk?" he asks in an awe filled voice. It might be noted that the kid is dressed in Hulk colors. He might be a fan.

Hulk has posed:
This close to the city, even the ocean can't completely muffle the Hulk's bulk. Slight tremors shake the water around him as he walks.

It's very easy to get the impression that with this much mass, he'd probably be breaking windows just as collateral damage from stepping on the ground.

Engine of destruction indeed.

The Hulk is too busy looking at the designs a moment when the child come up to him... and a strange thing happens...

The Hulks familiar scrunched up angry face levels out a bit, and the Hulk stands up just a bit to get a good look at the child. There's no 'threat' registered by the Hulk, visually, and he actually takes a sniff at the child before he scratches at his hair. "Hulk is Hulk." He replies in the... affirmative, "Hulk has never been able to find Fish Man city. This is Hulk's first visit."

Aquaman has posed:
At least the water muffles the effect of damage to glass. That, and what Atlanteans use for glass is a lot stronger than surface glass. It might not be in danger even in open air. Arthur watches the child and Hulk with some amusement in his eyes but very little actual expression on his face. The trident remains at his side, of course, but it is still down and not threatening.

The child sort of bounces in the water where he's floating. Clearly he is excited. "You're my hero! I want to be just like you when I grow up! Welcome to Atlantis!"

It's a good thing that Arthur has such good control of his expression, and himself, or he might be grinning from ear to ear at how happy that kid is.

Hulk has posed:
"Humans always think Hulk is the cause of their problems. Hulk is just Hulk. Hulk has had to fight a lot of people who never leave Hulk alone over the year." Hulk shrugs slightly, the residual anger that is keeping his transformation fueled easily heard in the way he describes it. "Hulk is always moving around. Avengers always moving around." Hulk scratches his head, then shrugs. It's just reality for him, though it can easily be inferred that he's resigned to it more than anything.

Sounds like the Hulk is not happy with the way Bruce is constantly on the move. It's hard to fault him about that though, with the way practically half the world would /love/ to capture him and figure out how to create Hulks that are controllable. The Super Soldier serum is proof of that.

Hulk glances around again, then back to Arthur, "Hulk won't try to break anything here." Ha. Ha Ha.

Aquaman has posed:
"That must be somewhat annoying," says Arthur. "Always having to move around. I know it was for me, the brief time of that I did the same thing." He considers the big green guy. "You know, if you ever need a place to hole up, I can have a place set aside just for you, here. So you can have some peace and quiet when you need it."

Sure, maybe someone could come up with why if they captured Bruce, but.. that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing, on the one hand, nor good for Bruce or the Hulk, on the other hand.

After fanboying out for a little bit, the child swims off again when his mother calls to him. Arthur gestures toward the center of the city. "Palace is that way," he says. "Or would you prefer to stay toward the edges of the city? Wherever you'd like, I'll make sure you have a safe place to come when you need it."

Hulk has posed:
The Hulk... just stares at Arthur for a while. After the first minute, he narrows his eyes just slightly. "Hulk will think about it." He finally answers. With a glance to the palace. "Hulk would like to see the palace." He confirms.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur Curry remains as he is. Calm and patient and seeming willing to wait as long as it takes for Hulk to realize that he's entirely serious. When he says he'll think about it, Arthur nods. "That's fair. Take as long as you need. You'll still have a place." Whether it gets used or not is the question. Arthur doesn't even seem to have any strings attached to this mystical 'place of safety'. Are there really any places that are actually safe?

"Of course. It's this way." He turns and swims slowly in the direction of the palace. It can be seen from here. All graceful curves and fluted spires.

Hulk has posed:
With the Hulk, there is no such thing as a safe place... but there are places that the Hulk can hide. For a time, anyway. Eventually, he always gets found. AIM. HYDRA. Leader. Abomination. Skrull. Kree. The Hulk has a long list of enemies and scientists who want to capture him.

Atlantis will likely be targetted by these people, in time, now.

Meanwhile, the Hulk is all STOMP. STOMP. STOMP. There is nothing graceful about the Hulk. He is all powerhouse, and never bothers to hide it. A brick through a window is just the start to how subtle he is.

Aquaman has posed:
When one is a powerhouse, what is the point in hiding it? Besides. Subtlety isn't always the best thing. Arthur leads the way to the palace, swimming at whatever speed Hulk goes with. It doesn't really take them all that long to reach it, either. Blues and purples, greens and silvers, reds and oranges and yellows, and every manner of color in between. All in all, the palace of Atlantis is a very beautiful place.

Arthur Curry shows no hesitation at all in taking Hulk there, either. He's not worried if something gets smashed. If it happens, it happens. More, he's not worried whether or not Hulk will smash something. He's said he won't, and he takes his word.

Hulk has posed:
Once close to the palace, the Hulk looks it over. Then, he looks back to Arthur. "Big palace. Is other Atlantis as big?"
