Cast of Characters: Antigravity, Gambit

Antigravity has posed:
The latest student o have made their way into the 'exclusive' programs at Xavier's School was having a bit of a hard time fitting in. Her student profile would have noted themes of possible abuse, strict upbringing, and abject poverty in northern Alabama.

It would also note she put Cannonball through a tree when they met.

But right now, the teen in the plain gray T-shirt with a flannel overshirt left tied around her waist, sitting on a rock by the lake looked more or less lost as she cradled a beat up guitar with a set of new strings on it, picking out chords.

"Take me to the river, cleanse my soul within. Ah have seen the Sinners, Ah have watched them sin. Carry me through valleys, lay me down an' sing. Ah beg for salvation -- repent an' Ah shall sing. Jordan, won't you save me? Ah'm barely holdin' on. Jordan, can't you hear me? Take mah faith an' lead me home." she sings softly, straw-colored hair dipping over her blue eyes as calloused, worker's hands pluck at the strings sans pick.

Gambit has posed:
Remy had been puppy sitting. Okay technically that is unfair. He and Riana are suppose to own the puppy together, but to be balanced he spends most of his time at Riana's apartment. Today however, Remy brought the puppy to the school, to get him out from under her feet and let the dog have some much needed fresh air and exercize out of the city... That was the plan anyway. JACK! JAK YAH GET BACK 'ERE WIT' DAT!" the Cajun screams as he chases the absolute mutt away from the cabins towards the lake. Jack, a medium sized dog with an exra long sized tail, one eye, and a happy gate is running with the joy of any animal just free to run, completely oblivious to the man trying to catch him...and the owner of the leather wallet in his mouth... 'JACK, AH SWEAR IF YAH DON' GET BACK 'ERE WIT' DAT AH'M GONNA BLOW YAH TA KIBBLE!"

Antigravity has posed:
-- the music was interrupted by the sound of a Cajun yellin'.

Rosie lifts her hand from the strings, leaning over on the rock she was perched on, and sees the happily loping mut making his way about the lake, and she purses her lips.

She puts her guitar on the gig bag behind her, and tapping her backpack she pulls out her Sunday Brunch -- a bacon, egg, and cheese English Muffin, and breaking off some of the bacon, complete with cheesy goodness, she gives a shrill whistle to try and get the dog's attention, and holds out the bacon.

"Hey Jack!" she calls out to the mutt.

Gambit has posed:
apparently this is good enough for Jack. At the calling of his name from anyone who is not Remy, Jack detours and rushes the young singer. He doesn't slow down either, running straight into her chest flulls speed and snout first, flipping himself over a few times in the process. He then gets up, drops Remy's wallet in her lap and... Well there is a new face to be licked. Allot... We're talking total coverage here. Remy manages to rush up and get ahold of the dog by the collar to pull him away and attach a leash to it's collar. "Chere Ah am so sorry. Ah can' possibly apologize enough. Jack sit down!" The dog who had been jumping on Remy's legs as if he hadn't seen his master in years obeys the command...by flopping on his back.

Antigravity has posed:
"Atta boy!" Rosie gives a grin at the dog, followed by an OOF! as she takes a dog straight to the chest, the short girl giving a woop of laughter as she runs her calloused hands over the dog's back, digging her nails into his hide as she laughs at the licking.

Remy pulls the dog Jack off, and she tosses the piece of bacon to the mutt while she retrieves the leather wallet, and offers it up to Remy as she grabs her flannel shirt and goes to wipe off her face.

"Aw. Ain't no problem, Sir. Dogs're bettah than mos' people Ah wager. Warmest hello Ah've gotten since movin t' the school!" she states with honesty.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau grins slightly a bit as Jack makes the bit of bacon vanish in less time then it takes most people to blink. He strains agienst his leash slightly to get closer to Rosie a.k.a the person with food a.k.a. his fovoriteist person in the whole wide world right now. Remy snatches the wallet out of the air and takes a quick inventory, relieved to see it's contents mostly intact. "Well Ah'm sorry ta 'ere dat no one till now 'as felt de need ta slobber all ovah yah face." he says with a grin, kneeling down to give the girl some space from the pup and rough up Jack's fur. "Yah ain' gotta call me sir chere. Mr. LeBeau do foh class, but even mos' of de students jus' call me Remy." he says offering the hand not holding the leash.

Antigravity has posed:
"Rosemary McGowan, but most just call me Rosie." she replies, reaching out to shake Remy's hand. "So then you're one of the teachers up at the school? Whatcha teachin' up there?" she questions, "Ah start class properly tomorrow, on account of the... manner of which Ah became acquainted with th' school. Mr. Sam and Miss Ororo had a bit of a time gettin' me up here. More Mr. Sam, on account of me bein' unreasonable at the time, could say." she states, with embarrassment, rubbing the back of her head as she gives a huff. "Don' mind me. Ah've been adjustin'."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smiles easily enough, "French class, An' Ah try ta get somet'ing goin' in de rec rom on de odd weekend. Usually a board game night or a movie night from mah Mystey Science T'eater T'ree T'ousand collection." He grins a bit more as Jack ties to run of, reaches the end of his leash with a sudden jolt and does a perfect half back flip. Lands with a thud, shakes it off... and then runs full tilt in the opposite direction. "Ah swear when dey were 'landing out brains, dat dog t'ought dey'd said trains and was like "Nah, Ah'll catch de next one." he sighs and smiles a bit "Well Ah'll tell yah dis about Mr. Sam." He says with a smile, "He's about de mos' patent, kind heated man yah evah gonna meet. So Ah'm pretty sure he'd be forgiving if yah were unreasonable wit' 'im. Fact Ah'd put money on it."

Antigravity has posed:
"Ah, then Ah likely have class with you. On account of needin' language, an' was takin' French in school. Mostly. When there wasn't issues." she purses her lips a moment, watching poor Jack jolt back and forth.

"He's jus' enjoyin' the life. Dogs're the best people. Most honest critters out there -- they are either gonna bite ya or love on ya." she gives a smile. "Likely 'cause they ain't got the brains for more than one feelin' at a time." she replies to Remy, and her cheeks flush a bit of color as she rubs the back of her neck.

"Ah wasn't real charitable with how we met, Mr. LeBeau. This, in fact," she states, and she motions out to the sunny day on the lake, "... is the first Sunday Ah am allowin' myself to be what Ah.. what we..." she stammers a moment, and then gives a bit of a laugh.

"First Sunday I ain't in church, listenin' to how evil Ah am, bein' a mutant an' all."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau ahhs slightly as Jack apparently grows tired of "Run-run-run-run-YIONK!" and waddles back over to plop next to Rosie , flopping on his back to try to cadge a belly rub. "Wish it was de first time Ah've 'eard dat story," he says with a grimace, shaking his head slightly. "Ah ain' much foh religion chere, be de first ta admit dat. Somet'ing of a recovering Cat'lic. But Ah say dis, Ah do believe dare is a God, an' Ah ain' yet met de man or woman Holy 'nough ta look inta a person soul an' see de balance written dare. De single mos' demonic lookin' person Ah've evah met also one of de mos' devout, honest, genuine, an' righteous people Ah've ever met. One of de most beautiful women Ah've evah known? She kills people professionally. Dare ain' not'ing evil jus' srtamped in yah DNA petie. What Ah do know?" He gestures to Jack who is now snoring. "Mah dog likes yah. Dats pretty good in mah book."

Antigravity has posed:
Jack gets his belly rub. Rosie scritches against the ugly dog's stomach as she listens, and she frowns a moment, giving a nod.

"Mah preacher at home was a big fan of children bein' seen an' not heard. 'Muties' were the children of demons an' women, and if women birthed a mutie they should be put to death with their child, 'cause they were Unclean by then. Never... really sat right. Grew up hatin' on mutants an' being scared, an' when it turns out Ah was one, I prayed it was temporary, that it'd go away." she gives a sad smile, looking to Jack snoring up against her.

"... three years of cryin' and prayin' an' just made me stronger an' more lonely. Ah knew if my church back home knew, they'd hurt my mama. Ain't no one gonna hurt my ma with me bein' in a fancy school. An' maybe some day she'll come 'round. Maybe she won't." she slightly pours out her soul, and then at least has the decency to look embarrassed.

"An' your right, Mr. LeBeau. Evil ain't stamped in mah DNA. Otherwise, wouldn't feel bad 'bout stuff. An', of course, dogs are pretty good judges of people." she grins at the snoring pooch.

    "Seems like you are too."

Gambit has posed:
He nods and, while perhaps not completely appropriate for a teach and a student, he reaches over and gives the young girl a gentle one armed hug. Sometimes, there isn't much more then that that you can say. "Well Ah c'n promise chere, no one gonna bot'er yah 'ere. Yah migh' make friends. Might make enemies. But yah gonna meet folks wit' all sorts of gifts. No one gonna t'ink twice about yahs." He smiles a bit and then adds, "As foh yah mamma, Ah'll look inta it personally. An' if folks ain' treatin' 'er right.." He trails off and gives her an almost wicked smile, "Funny t'ing about dose 'Ellfire an' Brimstone types," He lowers his sunglasses revealing orbs of solid black and irises of bright red. Hellfire in each eye. "...Dey nevah know what ta do when de devil actually do come a callin'."

Antigravity has posed:
At the hug, Rosie stiffens, and she brings her hands down solidly to her lap, her fingers curling into loose fists.

"That is mighty kind of you Mr. LeBeau --" she begins, and then he lowers his sunglasses. Her blue eyes go wide, and it might be that he caught her offguard, might be reflective of her earlier statement that dogs either bite or love on you -- and its adverse meaning of people sometimes do the latter, only to get the former.

Her hand would go to Remy's side, and the poor Cajun might be able to get away in time, or else he's going to get the worst feeling of being hungover and simultaniously put into a tilt-a-whorl at the same time as vertigo hits, those bones and fluid in his ears that would have told him which way was up suddenly severely confused as his mass is altered, and he's suddenly lowered to a fourth of his weight -- and then one fourth of Earth's gravity afflicted on him as Rosie gives a shove to the Cajun towards the nearest other rock. Unfortunately, this is followed by Remy's mass suddenly switching to double and his personal gravity suddenly becomes super-attractive to the rock.

Good news? the rock's only a few feet away.

Bad news? That Cajun is now super-attracted to the gravity of the rock.

All assuming, of course, that Remy doesn't realize something's suddenly very wrong.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau realizes that something is wrong, but not before it is too late. Certainly not before he could do anything about it that would not hurt the student. So his world goes on a twist, sending his mind reeling while at the ame time real gravity decides to have a glitch in the Matrix as well and he "falls" sideways towards the large rock with a meaty thud. He lets out a loud "oof" trying to regain his internal equilibrium. "Wuzzuh...huh?" he says articulately trying to regain his balance... and his wallet falls out of his pocket. In a flash Jack runs over, scoops it into his jaws, and takes off running with it.

Antigravity has posed:
Rosie gives out a cry just a split second after she set Remy reeling, her eyes going wide as she reaches out to him with one hand, and then reaches back to try and keep Jack in place as the poor Cajun gets slung against a rock. And Jack takes off to her surprise (and slight dismay), and as poor Remy is trying to regain himself, she grabs up her guitar and gigbag, and flees, expecting retrobution or punishment for the offense, giving a cry back of: "I'mSoSorry!I'mSoSoSorry!" as she books it back to the mansion!

Gambit has posed:
"Huh? Ugh? Wuzzit!" He looks around fevorishly then stumbes to a run "DAMN IT JACK! GET BACK 'ERE! AH'M GONNA FORCE FEED YAH A WHLOE DECK OF CHARGED CARDS....
