Pixie has posed:
Spring has only just started, but it's a lovely warm afternoon on the beach and Megan is feeling a but adventurous today as she wanders along the water's edge. She's dressed in a cute pink and green swimsuit, the kind that looks like a mini dress with a frill around the hip, and sandals on her feet.

The sand feels good on her feet and it's not long before she wanders further and further into the sea. Fortunately, Megan knows how to swim and with those wings, it makes it easier for her to paddle quickly through the water. Unfortunately she's not a super strong swimmer when she's confronted by large waves..

Too bad she didn't check the weather this morning. Or if she did, she was led astray. Grey clouds form in the sky, and an unexpected snowstorm mingled with strong winds is on the horizon..Those waves are looking pretty big and scary too..

Poseidon has posed:
Time is, as a very wise someone once said, a relative thing. What for a human is a long time, for someone with a longer life may be definitely less. If a creature can just exist for no more than, approximately, 92 years, then spending an entire month just floating on the sea on a small sailboat could be boring, but for someone that lived tousands of years and has likely at least the same in front of him? It's just the equivalent of an afternoon of tea and tv on the sofa.
And so it is that Poseidon, in the last month or so, has been just sitting there, aboard a small wooden vessel, with just a sail on it, guided by the wind, floating on the sea that is his home and his domain, towards unknown destinations.
If space and time matter nothing for powerful wielders of magic, however, that means that even if the god was on the other side of the world just a moment ago, the awareness that one of the people he personally knows, Megan, is near the ocean, brings his boat sailing in her direction, crossing oceans, gently appearing just a hundred meters away from her as if it has always been there. And Poseidon, dressed in a simple blue robe, sits aboard on a wooden bench, staring at the waves as if they had the answer to a question he is about to ask, ageless face relaxed and framed by the white hair that fall down to his shoulders, barely affected by the wind blowing around him.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn swims further out, rather enjoying the gentle waves and not paying much attention to the stormy skies at first. "Ooooh, so pretty!" she muses as she watches gentle rolling waves in the distance. Hey, they're still pretty far away, and they do t look that big...Right?

Of course that's when the winds really pick up and at the same time it starts to snow, not heavily, more like fine powder, but there's a lot, enough to make it hard to see with the wind blowing. Oh and it's getting pretty cold too. She shivers, looking around, suddenly getting turned around, pulled further out to sea.

"Meep!" she squeaks as a sudden rough waves pulls her down underwater for a moment and out of sight. She gasps and sputters, struggling back to the surface, barely holding on...

Wait, is that a sailboat, casually floating along so effortlessly on the stormy sea like nothing crazy is going on? "Heey!" she calls and waves frantically towards the boat.

Poseidon has posed:
It doesn't take more effort than a mere thought to have the boat gently turn towards Megan, no more than a subtle gesture for Poseidon to command the winds and waves to carry the wooden vessel towards the winged woman, and as the vessel moves closer, it could be noticed that it not only moves with no effort at all, but that snow doesn't fall on it, as if the boat was surrounded by a bubble of peace and peaceful weather.
"not a nice weather to have a swim, Megan. You may want to hop on, perhaps?" Poseidon offers, now that the vessel is close enough and he can offer his right hand to help the woman, should she accept, to get onto the boat itself.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly as she sees the boat coming nearer, see I fly unaffected by the violent waves around them. Oh wait, that guy...Looks Kinda familiar. "Heeey, is that you, Mister Poseidon?" she smiles, relaxing a bit as she reaches for his hand and struggles a bit to climb aboard.

Fortunately her wings don't get drenched like feather wings, but she's still pretty soaked and shivering. "Ooh, thank goodness you came along when you did...Where'd this storm come from?"

Poseidon has posed:
"the one and only" Poseidon replies, channeling just a bit of magic to send a warm breeze towards Megan, to dry her of the now somewhat cold water. "It comes from the place storms come from. Didn't you check the weather? I thought humans had all sorts of nice though inaccurate apps to check weather or something. I once heard someone going like, Hey siri, tell me what'll the weather be tomorrow, and the phone announcing in a relatively believable feminine voice that it'd be sunny. It rained, a lot"
Grinning a bit, Poseidon settles back on the wooden bench at the back of the boat, hands neatly placed on his knees as he nods towards a similar bench in front of him "feel free to take a seat... What brings you here anyways?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn is happy for the warm breeze, eyes widened in wonder as she watches the strange bubble and warmth come over the vessel amid the stormy sea and snow. "Woooow that's sooo cool! Seee that's the kinda magic I wanna learn!"

She giggles as she peers over the edge of the boat, the waters not so scary from this end. "Yeaah, I checked the weather, they said the possibility of a storm was small if at all. Guess even scientists aren't always right though.." she shrugs.

She turns around and shrugs, following him to the bench, shrugging. "Hmm, just thought I'd go collect so,e shells along the shoreline and enjoy a nice spring day..But maybe it's a bit soon for that.." she pouts at the suddenly gloomy grey skies.

Poseidon has posed:
"human science, sometimes, is not a well... Exact science at all..." Poseidon points out, shrugging and commanding his boat to alter its course to sail in sight of Coney island. "as for the magic... Well I daresay that's something even a human can do, so you could learn to do it indeed. But lets see... What can you do with your magic, actually? Tell me or, show me, what you can do..."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn hmms, peering towards the shoreline, although frankly, just about everything out here fascinates her too, from the wild waves, the glittery powdered snow, and the magical bubble protecting them from cold and wind and snow.

"Well...I dunno a lot of spells really..Although I can perform simple spells from a magic book, such as a demon banishment spell...Other than that, I know how to open portals and teleport large groups of people across the world and through to other dimensions, and I've learned a sleeping spell..." she shrugs, "I was told that when I come of age I'd be taught more spells but it seems I've had trouble finding a stable teacher, I mean, I dunno where Morgana le Fay, and Dr Strange went..."

Poseidon has posed:
"seems like you at least have a gift for finding powerful teachers, don't you..." A chuckle escapes Poseidon lips as he considers "spellbooks are intresting... Do you need it as a catalist or just to remember the words and gestures and whatnot associated with a spell?" he inquires

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blushes and smiles abashedly at that. "Umm, I guess so..I know. lot of people think Morgana le Fay is dangerous, maybe even evil, but..I think she's just misunderstood, really. And Strange? I guess he's pretty important, so he's pretty busy a lot."

Megan makes a face, "Bleh, then there's Illy, she's kinda scary and spends too much time in limbo with her demons friends.." she shrugs and giggles, "Hmm, well...I've tried minor spells like, a minor ward, protection circle, I guess ritual magic, with words and gestures and items to use as a catalyst Soo I guess..A bit of both?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon considers Megan's words, then shrugs "good and evil are oftentimes subjective concepts, changing fluidly like water accordinc to who's defining them." His gaze sweeps over the waves around the boat, then the boat stops, just staying on the spot, surrounded by waves and wind. "let me see what you can do then... I will teach you something easy, to see if you have at least a bit of affinity with water..."
Standing from the bench, he moves towards the starboard side of the boat, leaning over it he extends his right hand and a sphere of water floats upwards from the ocean, to sit on his palm, which is turned upwards. The golfball sized sphere, peacefully in his hand, dissolves into sall trickles of water as he closes his fist, rejoining the ocean from which it came.
"Water is something amazing, Megan. It is ever changing, it is fluid. It adapts, it goes everywhere... Pour water in a container, and it will effortlessly take its shape. Burn it and instead of dying, it will turn into steam to just float elsewhere and return to its original shape. Water is patience, water is knowing that even mountains can't stop you. Give it enough time, and it will carve its way through the strongest of rocks." as the god pauses in his speech, his eyes focus on Megan herself "keep all of this in mind, because when dealing with magic, knowing what you want to do and how it works can greatly help you. Many people just know how to speak a few latin words to create fireworks, but understand the true nature of things, and words and gestures, will just be a nice touch to what you can really do... And this, is how you create a sphere of water on your hand... You don't really create the water, you pull it from an already present source to do your bidding, and so if you have no more than a glass of water in the room, you cannot create a larger amount. But that's the base for doing many things..."
That said, the man starts to explain a couple of methods to cast the spell, calmly and patiently going through gestures, and slowly pronouncing the words that can be used to cast the spell.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly, nodding as she peers at the water. She's not a lightning fast study, but she is tenacious and talented when she puts her mind to it. "Alright.."Megan sits back down, drawing in and out a few deep breaths as she tries to focus.

She's never worked with water before so this is definitely new, but this is new and exciting. She repeats the magic words and gestures a couple of times and holds out her hand to call a sphere of water towards her. Initially the water does shimmer and glow, a thin stream rising a few inches from the sea..But it doesn't make it much further than that. She's gonna need some practice, maybe better focus.

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon watches carefully as Megan tries the new spell, observing not only what she does, but also feeling how the water reacts to the magic channeled towards it. "mhm, feel the water a bit more... Ask it to do what you want it to do... If you grab water into a tightly closed fist, it will just slip through your fingers. If you cup your hands and gently gather some water, it will rest peacefully in your palms."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods, clenching her hand, closing her eyes as she feels the coolness of the water and the sea spray on her skin, calling to it more coaxingly, trying to imagine its slipping through her fingers. This time the water rises higher from the sea, glimmering and taking a more definite form. It'll take her several more tries to actually create a more definite form and lift the sphere towards her open palm..But then no one ever said magic was easy!
