Are we doing this or not
Date of Scene: 31 March 2021
Location: 66 East 11th Street, Greenwich Village
Synopsis: Andrea surprises Jay by showing him their dream home, to get away from the city, and to make something truly theirs.
Cast of Characters: Rage, Icarus

Rage has posed:
Heading into the living room from the front door is Andrea. The popstarlet is dressed in a pair of slim jeans and a sundress along with a long flowing Spring kimono on in a floral print. After putting her purse up on the jacket tree, she makes her way for the kitchen, giving a casual glance around.

"Hey, Jay! You home?" She calls out as she opens the fridge and swipes a bottle of water, followed by a light calorie cheese stick. She takes a peek at her phone to check her messages, then starts to investigate their home.

"Jaaaaay."

Icarus has posed:
"I'm here!"

The call sounds like it is from the bedroom and sure enough, that's where he is exiting as she starts down the hallway that direction. Dressed in a pair of comfy long shorts and a tank top, red wings behind him, feet bare. His hair and wings were damp, showing he wasn't long out of a shower.

He moved to give her a kiss to welcome her home. "How'd it go?"

Rage has posed:
Returning the kiss, Andrea wraps her arms around his neck and shoulders, leaning in to press her forehead to his. "You took a shower without me?" She says with a bit of a sulky tone to her voice. As she leans into him, she tightens her arms around him for a strong, loving hug.

"It went good. I signed the paperwork. We got ourselves a house. I'm going to be renting this one out and already have a few perspective people who are intereested." She sways back and forth with him in her arms, staring into his eyes with her head pressed to his. "I am excited. This place is close to the school, it's huge, private, secure, has so much land to play on. We can build a guest house as well, something small for friends to visit and have something cozy."

Icarus has posed:
"Sounds great," Jay says as he holds her close. But something she says surprised him.

"I thought you were going to sell this place. You said you could make a few million off it, that could be put toward the new one."

It's her money, either way is fine. He's just curious at the change of plans.

Rage has posed:
"Yup, I was going to, but I got a sweet deal on the house. They were desperate to sell because it was on the market for so long. Three years. So, I was able to talk down the price. I can rent this place for almost double our mortgage payment. So, I can keep this one and use it as a rental and it will pretty much pay the mortgage on the new house. " Andrea says as she slides her arms down to his hips, swinging him left to right and side to side.

"If at any point things don't work out, we can still sell this place, but property in New York City is valuable and my accountant assured me we'll be fine."

Icarus has posed:
"Considering it costs a fortune for every a tiny space here, I believe that. The value of this one will just keep going up. Makes sense."

Jay follows her lead in the--well, whatever she's doing. It's sort of like dancing but not quite. Yet he follows her lead anyway.

"When we do go move in?" He still hadn't gone to visit the place, leaving it to her. The pictures were enough to convince him it was well worth it. And he was looking forward to checking out the flight space of the property.

Rage has posed:
"Couple of weeks, but, I wanted us to go now and look at it. So .. put some clothes on." Andrea says with a grin as she continues to sway with him side to side a bit. It's not dancing, but she just enjoys being close to him, moving.

Finally, she lets him go, giving a pluck at his shirt as she makes her way down the hallway to their bedroom. "I'm picking your clothes out!" She calls over teasingly to him, giving a bit of a strut as she goes with a smug look upon her face.

Icarus has posed:
"I have clothes on," he mutters as she plucks his shirt and heads off for the bedroom. Then she adds the threat.

It is a threat. He's seen the stuff she has bought for him. It often is worn once, just to make her happy, then gets buried in a drawer somewhere. Or it is worn not at all because simply Hell No.

"I will pack my own clothes! You worry about yours!"

Rage has posed:
"You are not dressed proper to go see the house!" Andrea sing songs from the bedroom with a laugh. "So I am picking!"

Opening the drawers, she takes out a pair of slim jeans and lobs them out on the bed, then a pair of boxer shorts with the hot sauce rooster on it, socks, and then a hot pink shirt that she bought him for his birthday that reads: Stud Muffin' on it, with a cute heart shaped muffon it with a U.U face. It's adorable. He probably hates it.

Icarus has posed:
And the process starts.

First the skinny jeans are thrown back as he goes to dig out a pair of baggy ones instead. Boxers are tossed back as he goes in search of something less graphic. "If I got in an accident and had those on when the EMTs showed up, Ma would kill me," he mutters cause /that/ is how they were taught in the South. Clean underwear at all times and make sure you don't have anything embarassing for when you get in a major accident and needed medical help.

The shirt is tossed back and again he looks for something plain instead of graphic. That is one of those shirts he would wear in the penthouse if she insisted but never in public.

Rage has posed:
The boxers are thrown back at him with a wolfish huff from Andrea.

"I'm pretty sure your Ma isn't gonna be caring about what kinda underwear you got on. I like these. They're cute. Why won't you wear the shirt!? I love the shirt. It looks so good on you." She gives him those golden pup eyes, followed by a small pout on her lips.

"How come you wno't ever be cute with me in public? This is New York. The fact you have clothes on is miles ahead of most of the weirdos in the SOHO district that run around half naked."

Icarus has posed:
"Cute is one thing. But what you and I think is cute differ highly," Jay says, starting to develop an immunity to her powers! Well, only because they've had this particular talk more than once in their relationship.

"Fine. I'll wear the boxers." See how hard he fought back! "But not the shirt! And skinny jeans don't have room for me to hide my wings. Good for around her or Club Evo, not so good for running into the restroom at a gas station on the long drive up to Westchester."

Rage has posed:
"Then pee before you go, doofus. You literally went on stage in front of the world with your wings on New Year's Eve and I'm a famous mutant. Why are you still hiding your wings at this point?" Andrea says as she wrinkles her nose some, folding her arms over her chest.

"But, fine, wear whatever you want. Next time you hit up Victoria's Secret and buy something, maybe I'll just turn my nose up instead of prancing around in whatever half see through lacey stuff you pick out."

She does give him a bit of a grin though, despite her nose turned upwards. He knows she'll wear it anyways. He has good taste.

Icarus has posed:
"Because people at gas stations aren't always as understanding," Jay mutters as if that explains everything. "And I always wear the stuff for you here so that isn't even an equal argument!"

He tugs off his tank top and tosses it in the hamper. Yes, in it because he has been taught the floor is not equal to a hamper. Then he pulls on the shirt she had picked out despite making faces the entire time.

Rage has posed:
"We have an electric car!" Andrea says as she lobs her arms upwards, then lets them flop down at her sides. She was quick with that one. The only time they hit up gas stations is to get snacks. Sometimes gas station hot dogs just hit different.

She takes the tank top out of the hamper and refolds it up, putting it back in the drawer, then leans in and kisses him on the cheek. "You look hot. I got two out of three though, so I can't complain." She won't argue the slim jeans. He can wear his baggy ones.

"You live in New York, Jay, have fun with it. Let your red hair down and rock a studmuffin shirt once in awhile." She winks. "I love you by the way. A lot. You put up with me."

Icarus has posed:
"Things happen! Sometimes you need a gas station, even if you pee before you start the trip. It is a couple of hours still," Jay mutters although she's won this one. Two thirds of a win. Dammit.

He gives her a smile showing no hard feelings. "I love you too." He finishes changing then moves to put on his sneakers so that he'll be ready to go outdoors. A hoodie is grabbed since there is still a chill to the air a lot of the time.

Rage has posed:
See, he gets to cover the shirt up with a hoodie. He half-wins this round of Jay and Andrea's Barbie Dream House adventures. "I love you more." She says to him as she slides her hand into his, then leads them out to the Tesla in the garage.

It's a few hours ride with one gas station stop to snag nachos and a 'told you so' from Jay to rub it in, but they pull up the long driveway through the tall iron gates to reveal the large house on five acres of wide open land, which is also surrounded by thick trees to circle it. It looks half like a castle and half like a manor but updated enough to look modern enough. The path of the driveway opens up to reveal the two car garage attached and wide open concrete to park multiple cars out front.

"Here it is." She says as she turns the car off, then slips out front. "Twenty Seven June Road." She pops the last nacho into her mouth with a crunch.

Icarus has posed:
The house itself is insane. He grew up in a small house. Shared bedrooms because there weren't enough for all the kids. It was crowded and crazy and home. The room at Xavier's had been one thing. The penthouse had been crazy. And now this!

He lets out a low whistle. "This is huge." But he does follow her lead walking toward the door although his eyes are going to the grounds surrounding them. Now this...might work....

He takes off his hoodie and she can see his wings flex as he eyes the sky above them. "Want to give it a view you haven't seen?"

Rage has posed:
Giving him a grin, Andrea looks pleased at his expression. She leans in against him, curling an arm around his waist. "It's like a tiny Xavier's. Like .. one fifteenth of Xavier's." Her other arm curls around him, propping her chin on his shoulder. "Stud muffin." She says once his hoodie is off, poking the little cute cartoon muffin on his shirt.

"Come on, Icarus. Let's touch the sun and look down at our new home."

Icarus has posed:
That's all she had to say. His arm is strong around her waist as he pulls her against his side. Red wings sweep the air. Once, twice and on the third they are rising off the ground. The hoodie is just dropped, falling the the driveway their feet just left. Those wings are powerful. They have to be to support such weight but it seems so easy for him to reach the skies.

They are easily 100 feet in the air in moments, soaring over the house and grounds as the wind rushes by. Flight. It's the most amazing feeling for him as he can feel ever feather, the flow of the wind over them and how the tiniest shift and have them wheeling another direction. It's exhilirating for him. Never has lost it's ability to overwhelm him with how perfect it is and likely never will.

He leans his head down close to her ear so as to be heard without the passing air stealing away his voice. "So what do you think?"

Rage has posed:
As she tucks herself in against him, Andrea holds on tight with her head pressed into his neck. It always takes a moment to make sure that the rush of wind doesn't pop her ears too quickly. She learned that lesson fairly quick in their relationship. Once she peels her face away to look down at their home, she gives a smile, then pecks him on the jaw with her lips.

"I think it looks like home to me. It's beautiful." She says as she takes in a deep breath of the fresh air from this height. "Our home. What do you think? Ready to go inside?"

Icarus has posed:
"Yeah, we can do that." And with that Jay slowly spirals down to the ground again, flipping his wings to slow their descent at the last moment and landing every so likely on their feet. He takes a moment to give her a kiss then motions.

"Lead on. I'm guessing you have a key or the code to open the door?"

Rage has posed:
Taking her phone out once they reach the door, Andrea taps in a code on an app, then holds it in front of the lockbox to unlock it. She slips the key out and puts it into the locker and turns it with a click. Before she can step through, she finds herself swept up by Jay's arms and carried across the threshold with a giggle. She leans in to give him a kiss across the way before she is put down.

"Here we are!" She calls out, her voice echoing through the empty manor with incredibly high ceilings and tiled floors. Everything looks modern inside, but still has a hint of 'castle' feel to it. She glances over at him to gauge his reaction before sliding her hand into his and leading him through. She points out the kitchen, the dining room, the study and observatory. The bedrooms.

Icarus has posed:
It had just felt right. Jay wanted to carry her over the threshold if this was going to be their home for a while. Maybe forever since they had talked plans of family and the like with this place in mind.

After he has her across, he sets her back down so she can lead the show. A little 'wow' just at the enormity of the first room then more comments as they work through each of the others. "This places is huge, even if it is smaller than Xavier's. And it's gorgeous. I can see it being us." Meaning that it fit both of them in his mind.

Rage has posed:
"Cool. I'm really glad you love it. It means a lot. I haven't finished the paperwork yet .. I want your name on it of course. This is your home too." Andrea says as she leans in to kiss him on the cheek. "So once you sign off on the million pieces of paper .. I give a downpayment which is already written up in a check and it's ours. We can move in whenever we want and then start renting the penthouse out to rich people who want to live in the city."

Once they reach the master bedroom, she shows them the massive walk in bathroom in which the shower is connected to one wall and the bathtub is mounted on the next wall. There's no shower curtains, no shower doors. Just walk in and turn the lever. There is a hidden drain in the floor. The bedroom itself has huge windows to let in a lot of light, followed by a look over the wooded area of the backyard. "You can launch from here out into the sky. I was thinking we can build a pool there with a waterfall. Make it look like a hot spring and all natural like. Then over there we can have a party patio with furniture and speakers and we can build a firepit."

Icarus has posed:
"I don't have to be on the paperwork. I'm not that worried about it. Besides, I'd rather people be calling you on the phone about stuff and not me," Jay teases. "And once we're married, it'll be half mine anyway." Obviously a joke from his tone. "Unless I'm signing a prenup. Which is fine, I'll sign one. It's the right thing to do for someone in your position."

There is a sliding door in the bedroom leading out to the backdoor which is helpful. He looks at the house from the back then turns to pay attention as she lays out the areas she is planning. "Sounds amazing. Then we can have over family or friends. I figure you'll want to entertain a lot?"

Rage has posed:
"Why would I want to sign a pre-nup, Jay?" Andrea says as she gives him a squeeze of his hand tightly. "When we get married, you'll be my husband. Celebrities sign pre-nups because they are obviously not really getting married. They know they're going to be on camera for a year or so, put on a show, then work on different projects halfway around the country and be with their side pieces. It's designed for clout. I'm marrying you for love. If something happens to me, I want to make sure you're taken care of."

Turning around to face him, she gives him a few gentle nudges against his stomach. "We don't have to entertain a lot. But when we do, I want us to have enough room for us of course. We have enough rooms for a shared office space. The basement is finished and that can be our studio." She heads to the french doors of the bedroom and pushes them open to let the fresh air in, then steps out on the beautiful balcony.

Icarus has posed:
Jay follows her out to the balcony, taking a breath of the fresh air and looking up at the sky above them. A glance at the backyard. Such a lot of land and it's beautiful. "I like it a lot, Andrea. You done good." He nudges her with his elbow then moves behind her, putting his arms around her so she can lean back against him.

"I figure you'll want to have friends from Xavier's over sometimes, since we are a lot closer than we were. Not guessing a lot of the city friends though. Maybe once in a while. Obviously family."

Rage has posed:
As she tucks herself in against his arm, Andrea swings her own around his waist to pull him closer. She leans in to rest her cheek against his shoulder. "Yeah, we can have people over sometimes. I'm hoping that you'll bring people over as well. Bring the boys over, or guys you meed at the club. Would love to see you kicking it with your friends also. Don't want you to get lonely or stuck with Nevada all day while I'm at work for my longer stretches when they happen."

Icarus has posed:
Which answered that question. Seemed Nevada was going to be living with them still. Not that he cared. Jay was all about family. It was in the Guthrie DNA.

"Yeah, that'll happen too. I'll bring the band over. We'll get it figured out. We've got time."

Rage has posed:
"Yup, tons of time." Andrea says as she gives him a loving smile on her face, leaning up to brush her nose against his. "So, you're happy?" She says as her other arm sweeps around him. "You really like the place? No complaints? No concerns? This is your chance to let it all out to me. This is your home too. You're not just my roommate. If this doesn't work, we can find a new one."

Icarus has posed:
"Honestly, I like it. I think this is more us than the penthouse was. That felt more city that wasn't quite me. This is a mix of us both." Jay says as he continues to look around the area. The backyard was absolutely what he would've chosen.

"There's enough room this will be us instead of more one or the other too. Studio will be great."

Rage has posed:
"That is what I was aiming for. I could tell you weren't happy in the city. I felt bad for you. You always just looked uncomfortable and I know you were putting on smiles just to please me. It wasn't fair." Andrea says as she gives his cheek a nuzzle, then settles her head on his shoulder. "I love this place and if you like it also, then I'll be happy. I just want you to have a home that you're excited about and I figure with all this land, you can do stuff with your hands like you did back home."

"You and Sam can work on some projects together. Build some cars, or build a guest house, or build a large shed for a tractor or something." She says teasingly. "Maybe a chicken coop with a rooster."

Icarus has posed:
"Enough land to setup a big garden. Grow some of our own food. You'll love fresh versus store bought," Jay promises. He's planning. That's a good sign that he is interested in this place.

"A garage setup with some old cars works. Be fun to do. I think we'll pass on the livestock. Especially the chicken coop," he adds with a pointed look at her.

Rage has posed:
Grinning back at him, Andrea lifts her brows upwards. She mouths the word 'rooster' to him, then leans forward to give him a kiss. "There is definitely enough garage space for my Tesla and whatever car you want for yourself. Then I think maybe two or three more. It's so big."

She takes him by the hand and leads him to the master bathroom to show off the massive walk in shower with the hidden drain and the large jacuzzi tub nearby. "This is going to be my favorite spot in the whole house. I'm going to just sleep on that bench with the shower on."
