So, I had an eventful day
Date of Scene: 13 April 2021
Location: 66 East 11th Street, Greenwich Village
Synopsis: Andrea and Jay are /still/ trying to find the perfect house. They talk about her meetup with the Juggs himself.
Cast of Characters: Rage, Icarus

Rage has posed:
The doors open and close behind Andrea as she heads inside into the Penthouse after a full afternoon out in the city. She lobs her purse on to the couch and steps out of her shoes before she crosses from tile to carpet. She gives a long stretch of her body as she heads for the kitchen. "Hey! I'm home." She calls out as she opens the fridge and sneaks out a bottle of water, then heads back out into the living room. She settles herself down on the couch, kicking her feet up in front of her on the coffee table, snapping the TV on.

She takes a moment to give a glance about, then turns back to the TV as she starts to flip through the channels. Nevada isn't couch crashing at the moment as he had headed 'home' to be with their father for a few weeks. It's been quiet and a bit lonely since then.

Icarus has posed:
There is no response at first. Maybe she's home alone. Until she might hear footsteps coming up the hall. There is Jay, wearing shorts and a tank top. His feet are bare. His ears are not. No ear buds for him. He has on a pair of headphones and is jamming to whatever he is hearing. Dancing along, a few steps here, a spin there. He's heading for the kitchen and doen't even glance at the couch.

Of course he's singing along too. It's an old song by Justin Timberlake called 'SexyBack'. "Dirty babe....you see these shackles baby...I'm your slave...."

He comes back out with a glass of iced tea and that's when he notices she's home. He grins and pulls the headphones down around the back of his neck, the song able to be heard faintly now. "I didn't hear you come in!"

Rage has posed:
As she watches him strut past her, Andrea's head slowly rises up to peer over the back of the couch at him and his singing. Her brows lift upwards a few inches incredulously. She crosses her arms over the back of the church, waiting for him to finally spy her. Once he does, she bursts out laughing. "Yeah, I just got home a minute or so ago. Rocking out to mom's music, huh?" She says with a grin as she slips off the couch, then trots around it so that she can lean in and sneak a kiss to his cheek.

"Whatcha been up to? Anything exciting happen while I was gone or just on a JT kick and dancing around the place all afternoon?" She raises her water up for another sip, leaning her head in a bit to hear the music coming out of the headphones. "I'm not surprised you didn't hear me come in. Those headphones are amazing. The kind you shouldn't wear in traffic."

Icarus has posed:
"Yeah, figured I'd splurge." He quickly gave her a kiss then reached up to take off the headphones. She offered them to her for inspection if she wanted. "And I will have you know I knew about Justin Timberlake before I knew your mother," he adds indignantly. "He's an under appreciated artist with a lot of range and variety of styles."

He sets the glass of tea on the counter between kitchen and living room. "I have spent my afternoon just indulging and enjoying music. When the batteries die in one set of headphones, I switch to yours while mine charge." See! He got her a pair too!

Rage has posed:
"What do you mean by underappreciated? He was the prince of pop in the 90's and 2000's Dude is like forty-eight or something now. He's just expired at this point." Andrea says as she lobs some shade in a teasing manner. "I do like JT though. Cry Me A River is a jammer." As she takes the headphones, she turns them about in her hands with a grin. "Expensive too. Look at you, Jay. Finally indulging a bit." She says as she bumps her shoulder against him. "I'm proud of you, babe."

"So, you won't believe what I went through today." She says as she takes her phone out of her pocket, handing it to him after launching photo gallery. She is taking a selfie with someone who looks /massive/. He has red hair and blue eyes and is flexing a bicep that is probably as big as most people's torsos. "That is The Juggernaut, who just .. walked into a coffee shop when I was in line for some bearclaws. He literally walked up to me and said he's a fan of my music. I had to do everything in my power to not freak out. But, I was cool as ice. I talked to him about music for a bit, then asked him to follow me to the car so I can give him an autographed album and take a selfie. Just anything to make sure nothing happened with people around. He seemed chill, but you know.. it's The Juggs. Remember that DR session we got put through against him? That was with safeties on."

Her lips curve up a bit. "Your brother was there too and I think Juggs recognized him, but I didn't even give him a look. I made sure that I acted as if I didn't know him. Sam just pretended to order a coffee but I could tell he was watching me. Juggs even asked if he was my boyfriend."

Icarus has posed:
"Yeah, I remember." He shudders. "Basically he ripped my wings off and threw me aside like trash. Well would have if not safeties but we all know it happened. That is one of those moments you don't forget."

It had helped reinforce to Jay that the whole Danger Room and being an X-Man thing was not for him. He was happy playing music and trying to live a 'normal' life in the crazy world.

He eyed the pictures of her with the Cain Marko, shaking his head. "That's surreal. I guess we never thought about him being a person with likes and interests. We just see him as the Juggernaut. Glad thing stayed calm."

At mention of Sam being her boyfriend, he grins. "Did you tell him yes and that he's terribly jealous?"

Rage has posed:
"No, I said I was dating a guy with red hair and wings and that I'd never date a /flatscan/." Andrea says cooly as she flicks through the various pictures she took of her and Juggs together. It's the same selfie, just snapped a few times to get the right shot. "I told him I recognized him from the news. I made sure the conversation was never about Sam. To me, Sam is just some normie with blonde hair looking to get coffee."

She sinks down on to the couch and gives a stretch. "I remember that session also. I was the last one standing and he hit me so hard he knocked the wolf out of me. Back when I had a few voices in my head. I could hear Rage howling in anger and trying to will me to my feet again. I was pretty sure he broke every bone in my body and I was ready to just die. I don't ever want to get rocked like that again, even if I'm stronger and faster now. I don't stand a chance."

She taps the side of her skull though gently. "But I decided to just talk to him like a normal guy and give him an autograph. Figured it was the smart play instead of showing fear and trying to run away from him. He'd probably get insulted and cause a scene. It was weird though. He was just .. normal. Suspicious at first, but then he just acted like a regular guy. But, holy cow, you see that arm of his? Can you imagine if the Raiders had him as a linebacker?"

Icarus has posed:
"They wouldn't need anyone else on the team. No one would have a chance of stopping him." Jay picked up his tea and followed her to the couch. He flopped down, wings folded behind and beneath him. He was so used to it now it didn't bother him.

"We never think about that though. That while we might see X-Men or villains, that they are all people. With interests and hobbies." He considered a moment, blinking. "I wonder what Juggernaut does for a hobby. I'm thinking photography and knitting. Not sure why but it just feels right. Don't tell him I said that though."

Rage has posed:
"I doubt I'll ever see him again, but .. I don't know.. I kinda see him as a bro who just watches sports on the couch and drinks beers. He's kind of always walked that weird line of bad guy and anti-hero based on the files we had to go over. If I remember, he always was a huge, muscled up sidekick. He was more successful when given direction, but not so much when he's supposed to think on his feet and go in solo. Maybe he's lonely." Andrea hums in thought to herself as she leans in against him. "You know.. maybe he's not so much of a bad guy, but he does bad things because it's those type of people he attracts that gives him attention. Most bullies are misunderstood."

Her brows scrunch up a bit in thought as she clicks her tongue a few times along her teeth. She has that 'look' in her eyes. The type of look that he knows so well about her. She's forming a project in her head, at least for a moment before she shakes her head. "Anyways, yeah, so that was my day. So, I found another house by the way I was looking at." She says as she scrolls through her phone to launch the link. "I love the one we walked, but check this one out. It's the same price, but it has a lot more to it."

Icarus has posed:
"Huh?" Now she has Jay boggled again. Not by the stuff about Juggernaut. That actually made sense. It was the sudden change of subject and more what that subject was about.

"I thought the other was a done deal? Just had to give them the check once we signed papers?" He looked at the pictures, starting to flick through. "Already has teh pool you wanted. Bigger it seems. Looks like the plot of land is smaller though but not by enough to really matter. Or maybe it's just the angles. Why the change of mind? Why were you even still looking?"

Rage has posed:
"I know, I know. I just need to give them the check. I have a meeting coming up in a few days to do that. It's just that.. I was .. scrolling .. and I saw this pop up and it /just/ hit the market and I saw the pool and the hot tub and the landscaping and the private fencing and how it's surrounded by forest from all angles for more privacy and then the waterfall.." Andrea trails off a bit, looking sheepish at him.

"So, I was thinking /maybe/ we can walk this house too.. just to look.. I love the other place, don't get me wrong, but the same price! One more garage.. the pool and spa and landscaping is done so that's less money to burn. Look at all those woods though! It's also a bit more modern and less 'castle' you know what I mean? I was starting to wonder if maybe I'd get a complex in the first place."

She taps her fingers a bit together nervously, glancing up at him. ".. it has a gazebo there too and I was thinking if we got married, we could get married in the backyard and it's big enough for our guest list."

Icarus has posed:
"Yeah, this one would require less work to get it where we wanted it. No having to get the pool and all that put together. This has more bedrooms too, yes?" If he was remembering that right. He hadn't exactly memorized the floor plan on the other.

"We can certainly go look at it. See if it matches up to the photos. It seems more open and airy than the other one in a lot of ways."

Rage has posed:
"Yeah, it has 2 more bedrooms, one less bathroom, but that's not a loss since that bathroom was more of a closet with a toilet and a sink. A powder room. So, while this place isn't as massively drawn out as the other, it has more to offer. I like the fact it's less work. That and the third garage is where I was thinking of putting our studio. We'd just take the garage door off, build an actual wall and then sound proof it. That way we aren't using the basement of the other house and we can have that be a big entertainment area. Maybe put a movie theater in there."

Andrea gives him another smile, sheepish as she bumps her shoulder against his. ".. Your Ma also probably won't be as intimidated either when she comes to visit. You know, the whole castle look. This looks more 'family' living. Just for .. ah .. rich people. Figured maybe you'd like this one better too. It's not as dramatic and over the top."

Icarus has posed:
"I didn't feel the other was so much castle as just more old feeling. This feels a bit more modern. Neither is really better than the other on that angle at least," Jay says as he considers the images again before passing her phone back over to her.

He picks up his tea to take a sip then sets class back down on coaster before continuing. "Ma will be pretty shocked either way. One room in these places could house our whole family on a bad day or half of them on a good one." They did share rooms as kids all the time as their house back home just was not big enough for everyone to have a room.

Rage has posed:
"I dunno, the other one had a turret in the middle of it it seemed. That rounded part that gives it a castle feel." Andrea says as she pulls the image back up, then goes back and forth between that and the other one. She lets out a long sigh as her eyes stare up at the ceiling, then tilts her head towards him. "I like both. Can I buy both?" She says jokingly.

"I think your Ma would definitely love the second one more. I feel like it's more of a real family home also. I am kinda embarrassed to say I like it more." She says with a soft laugh. "So, let's take a walk and then see how we feel. I figure maybe we can walk a few more too. Just to be sure. That way it's not just me finding stuff."

Icarus has posed:
"I like it will be less work. More move in and be happy instead of having to worry about contractors and everything to get the pool put in the way you like it," Jay admits with a grin.

He does nod though. "We will check out a few in the area. Make sure this is the one you like most. Put down some money if we need to hold it since it's new on the market and don't want to lose it."

Rage has posed:
"The one 'we' like most." Andrea says with another bump of her shoulder to his. "You keep saying you. It's us. We. You and me." She leans over to kiss his cheek, followed by a bump of her nose against his jawline. "I want you to be as excited and in love with a home that 'we' picked out. My opinion isn't worth any more than yours." Her hand slips into his for a tight squeeze.

"You hear that Scott and Jean finally moved out? They invited us over for dinner when they're ready to host guests. It's such a beautiful place. Really classy. It definitely fits them. Jean and I got to walk it a few weeks ago and I could tell she fell in love with it immediately."

Icarus has posed:
"The one we like most. You're the one that keeps find them though. And it's a big thing to buy a house. It needs to be perfect so shopping around instead of going for the first one we liked does make sense."

Jay squeezes her hand. "I mean we're going to be there a long time. Hopefully decades. That's the way my mind goes at least. We lived in the same place back home all our lives, didn't really have the option to move around a lot. So for me, that is how I want it to be. One place and that's probably it until we're old then we can maybe retire to Florida like everyone seems to do."

Rage has posed:
"Hopefully, right?" Andrea says as she scoots around a bit so that her head can rest on his lap, staring up at him. Her legs dangle over the arm of the couch. "We're definitely not retiring to Florida. Have you seen the size of their bugs? They're like tiny flying cars. We can move to Arizona. It's cheaper." She asys with a giggle, reaching up to paw at his chin a bit with her fingers in a playful manner.

"But we can definitely buy a winter house in Florida. Something small and cozy to spend a few weeks a year there during the dreadful winters here. It's like in the seventies there when it's in the twenties here. I always wanted to lay out on a beach in December."
