Synopsis: Jay and Andrea talk about new music and new homes
Cast of Characters: Rage, Icarus

Rage has posed:
Having spent most of the day out and about with Roberto, followed by a jaunt to Club Evolution to get an interview and photos taken by Peter Parker of the Daily Bugle, Andrea is trending on social media again for the Daily Bugle's piece on her. She was seen at Club Evolution with Shannon and Roberto with the piece being on 'what's next' for the mutant princess of pop and her new band The Blue Pirates. The club got a taste of the instrumentals for her new track which is a blend of rock and energy infused together.

Peter Parker definitely hooked her up on the photos. She looks great in them, even though she's wearing just a pair of jeggings and a baggy sweater with minimal makeup and her hair styled in a pony tail. As she heads through the doors, she gives a long stretch of her body, then flops down on the couch as she taps her phone a few times to start cycling throug her playlists once she connects to her surround sound.

"Hey Jay! I got the final mix done if you want to hear it!" She calls out into the large Penthouse, giving a glance around curiously.

Icarus has posed:
That draws a head out of the room they use as a makeshift studio. "Finally? Took you long enough!" Jay mutters goodnaturedly as he comes out. He's dressed in jeans today, having done a few errands himself and not quite getting to the point of changing clothes because when those ideas strike, sometimes he had to pick up a guitar and play with the notes in his head. He wore a blue button up shirt. He had managed to get his shoes off but still was in socks.

He headed to the living room and sat by her, leaning to give her a quick kiss. "How's everything go today?"

Rage has posed:
"It went great. Song sounds fantastic, we got the acoustics perfect for the Club. Interview went great. Photos look great. Shannon wrote a new song and it's actually really fucking good." Andrea says as she gives him a big smile on her face. She motions him over to her.

"So, do you want to hear the final mix instrumental or the one with the lyrics of you and the boys singing?" She asks as she stretches one arm around the back of the couch.

Icarus has posed:
He settles in. "Instrumentals first. So I can get a feel for it. Then we'll go full version with us supporting you," Jay suggests.

At the mention of Shannon, he grins. "She's turning into quite the force. Glad you got her set up to start recording. She's a good kid and deserves that shot."

Rage has posed:
As she taps the phone screen, Andrea pulls up the song on the speakers as she leans back and tucks herself in against Jay. She gives him a grin as she wiggles her foot a bit to the beat. It has a throwback vibe to it, but also enough of 'her' infused into the track to make it trendy and current. The instruments sound incredible.

"Yeah, she did pretty good with the first single we put out. I think my manager is really interested in this one she has going on. It's called Homecoming Queen. It's a coming of age song."

Icarus has posed:
"Sounds fitting for a teenage girl by title at least." He was already paying attention to the music, picking up the notes that he remembered from the page and from them playing in the studio. It had cleaned up nicely. A very retro vibe to it but that was what had Andrea's attention for now. Besides, all the best artists constantly reinvented themselves. It's how they maintained.

"I'd like to hear or see the song she wrote. Just cause I'm nosey. And you're right. This came out really good. Nice transition there."

Rage has posed:
As she taps along the glass, Andrea swipes to the song with the lyrics next as she gives him a grin. "You guys sound /amazing/ on this by the way. Even if I'm just the backup vocals on this track, I think you guys really did a great job of making it sound current while also paying homage to the eighties. This is so Breakfast Club and Saint Elmo's Fire."

"I'll also make sure to bring the song to you if I can record her next time. She sang it acapella to me on a notebook, no instruments, but it definitely has a country pop vibe to it that I think would chart really well."

Icarus has posed:
"I still don't understand why you didn't want lead on it. Not that I'm complaining. We enjoyed doing it. But I just feel like it was your song and you should've taken the spotlight." Jay says.

He nods. "Let me here the full version now? And yeah, try to record her. She have her music figured out or just the lyrics and the basics?"

Rage has posed:
"The reason why I didn't to take lead on this song is because it just sounded better. Sides, it's written from a guy to a girl." Andrea says with a laugh as she curls herself up in against the crook of her arm. "This album is your album. I'm just there to make it look pretty and pop on a few songs to make it spicy."

"By the way, I got us a gig! Club Lux ran by Lucifer Morningstar wants to feature us. Probably do a number of covers but also play some of the new stuff. I did a thing for them a few years back and he asked me to return and this time to bring the band. I think he plans on putting on some type of event."

Icarus has posed:
"Popular club. Always has lines of people that never make it in. It's smaller, but supposedly a good gig to get. It should be fun," Jay decides as he motions toward her phone, urging her again to start the music for him.

"Any idea what sort of concert he's looking for?"

Rage has posed:
"I don't know, he's going to talk to my manager." Andrea waves the phone around, as if to draw it out, then presses play to start it up. It's the same track, but with the completed vocals.

Flipping the phone into his lap, she smiles and listens to the immersive surround sound the fills the air all around them. She's wired the living room to sound very much like a stage as well. It sounds amazing for movies.

Icarus has posed:
For the time being, he's silent. Listening to the music, making note of the layering and tricks used. Then he plays it a second time as well. This time humming along at a part or two. Then it's done and he grins.

"That came out better than I though. I like the little echo on the second chorus. But sounds really good."

Rage has posed:
"I know it's not really the country rock vibe but I think it sounds hot. Definitely a club banger." Andrea says with a grin, shoulders lifting upwards. "It does seem a little out of place with most of the stuff we recorded so far, which is more your band's style. I was thinking this could be a b-side release, or maybe a remix if you guys want to record this in your own style. That way it won't feel out of place on the album."

She has learned to compromise! In the old day this whole album would be one hot pile of pop and dance beats. But this is their album and she is giving the boys nearly all creative control.

Icarus has posed:
"Whatever you think is best. It's a good song. Probably will be popular," Jay admits as he offers her phone back to her. "Some of our other stuff is going to be more niche so either way. We will see what happens obviously."

He ponders a moment then continues. "Not all of our music has a country vibe. We like some metal and other things. It's why it's hard for us to stay to a theme for an album. You've helped us keep it on track."

Rage has posed:
"I helped you make an album that will make you money also." Andrea says with a grin as she leans over and gives him a kiss on the cheek. "Which is the goal at the end of the day. Studio and label gotta get paid off the sweat from your back and all that. I honestly think this is going to chart and it's going to chart well. It's rock enough, it's pop enough, has the right amount of emo and it has good lyrics."

"It may not be the perfect album from Kentucky with grit and twang but it has enough that the country top charts will eat it up. That song that you guys did.. Put That In Your Country Song is /amazing/. I honest to God feel it will go platinum."

Icarus has posed:
"Which is why I trust you." Jay gives her a quick kiss. "You have been doing this for years. Dealing with the studios and labels. Figuring out what will and won't sell. I mean has anything of yours actually failed? You've got a gift for it and we're lucky to have you to give us guidance."

He shrugs about the other song. "It was an angry stage. Was a little over everything being rainbows in a lot of the country music these days. Instead of tackling bigger issues like they did a few years back."

Rage has posed:
"Oh, I've had some duds, I just don't brag about them." Andrea says with a soft laugh. "So after Backstabber came out, I had a contract to do a few Christmas songs on an albumn with some other artists. I wasn't in a good headspace and I didn't sound jolly or joyful. Was told that I sounded generic and more kareokee. I also /hate/ Santa Baby and that was the one I got stuck iwth." She says as she brushes her knuckles along his cheek gently, then tucks some of his red hair back behind his ear.

"Your angry stage is hot and you and the band sounded incredible. It was really moving for me. It's been awhile I was that inspired, but watching you live, I honestly saw a true rockstar being born in front of me. You guys were so confident and the audience was on their feet."

Icarus has posed:
"Well that was also back home where we sort of have our built in fan base." Jay holds up his thumb and index finger, tips barely apart from each other. "An itty bitty one. So you saw us in our element."

He considers. "Although we've had good reception at Club Evo too. And obviously on New Year's Eve with you, it was insane."

Rage has posed:
"That /was/ insane." Andrea says with a grin. "I think how we set the stage with the sneaky reveal though is what really sold it also. It was like one by one, I was introducing you to the world. I have to keep reminding everyone this is not 'my' band. That this is a band, that I happen to have the honor to partner with. Otherwise they'll start calling it Andrea and The Blue Pirates. Once something sticks, it sticks and I don't want that to stick."

As she leans in closer, she brushes her cheek against his gently, stealing a kiss from his jaw. "If I tell you this surprise I've been holding in for a few weeks, you promise not to freak out?" She asks with a wry grin.

Icarus has posed:
"Yeah, we don't want that either. I mean, being linked to your name is great but we did work hard to be our own group. Even if we've sort of become your band for a little while now. When not working with Alison the few times the guys did."

But then she has Jay getting nervous as she mentions a surprise for a few weeks. "As long as it's not you're pregnant, I promise not to freak out."

Rage has posed:
"It's just a little pregnant, Jay." Andrea says with a soft laugh as her eyes roll upwards to him. She gives him a long stare for a moment, then kisses his nose. "No, it's not that. My IUD is still working overtime." She assures him with a smile.

"So, I know we're doing a few clubs coming up. Evo, Lux, that one rock place in Tribeca." She says as she gives him a wider smile. "I was going to save this for everyone, but.. my manager was able to book us Madison Square Garden during the NBA All-Star Game. Packed house. Internationally televised. We're the only act."

Icarus has posed:
Only when she assures him does Jay relax again, giving her an apologetic grin. But then she tells the real surprise and he tenses up all over again.

"During? That's insane! The crowd is enormous and then internationally televised on top. You're talking millions!" Like New Years wasn't? "That's wonderful and amazing and...wait, what are we doing? Is it a song like for halftime or like a set?"

Rage has posed:
"It's the half-time show, yeah. We'll do a blend of my music and ours. So the idea is that I start the show off solo and I do a melody of a few of my iconic songs. Backstabber, Shadows, Invincible ... kinda like a VMA situation, and then I'd announce you as the curtain behind me drops to reveal the band and then we go right into Country Song, then close it out with Stand Tall. About fifteen minutes for the set." Andrea's lips twitch upwards some into a smile.

"We also will get to meet all the players and get autographs if you wanted, selfies, all the works. NBA is a real mutant friendly league and they're looking to shake things up a bit."

Icarus has posed:
"So a range of music to pretty much appeal to all audiences. Well planned," Jay says. As though there was any doubt with her and her crew handling things.

"Sure can get some autographs. Not a huge NBA fan. More a football guy, if I'm going to watch anything. But not going to be pass up that opportunity."

Rage has posed:
"Well, you get Michah Jones autograph on anything and it's going to go bananas on eBay." Andrea says with a laugh. "Let's try and get a few jerseys to sign from some of the more big names there. We can frame them on the walls in the office. But, maybe one day we'll get the Superbowl. Who knows. I've never been asked and I doubt I will. Superbowl is like /really/ making it. Wardrobe malfunctions aside."

She leans in against him, tucking her head on his chest as she curls one of his arms around her waist. She stretches her legs out on the table and taps her foot a bit to the music playing from the TV. "Is there any place you and guys are bucket listing to play at?"
