Aftermath The Rescue
Date of Scene: 20 April 2021
Location: Horse Stables - Xavier's School
Synopsis: There was some chatting in the stables after the rescue.
Cast of Characters: Moonstar, Nightcrawler, Rogue

Moonstar has posed:
It's a few hours after everyone had returned from the pop quiz that had been a sudden rescue operation. Dani had stopped in to check on Henry, and then.. disappeared. Usually, that means she's gone off somewhere to be with Brightwind. And as it turns out, this is exactly the case this time. Dani is standing in Brightwind's stall with him. It's set up such that he can open either of the sliding doors of his stall anytime he wants to and come and go as he pleases. Then again, the pegasus, while being equine in nature, is not a horse.

Right at this moment, Dani is running a brush through Brightwind's long mane, so that the hair hangs, with a slight wave, but neat and glossy despite that. Her other hand rests with the palm against his cheek, stroking lightly there. The stallion stands with his blue eyes closed, one ear cocked toward Dani. He looks rather content, with one hoof resting up on its tip.

Nightcrawler has posed:
It isn't with a BAMF that Kurt arrives. Not this time. He's done a fair bit of teleporting with the rescue of the kids. Instead, he walks to the stable, his tail low and swishing a little bit back and forth. The movement is normal, but he normally carries his tail up a bit more. Once he reaches the stable, he lifts a hand to pull open the door before he steps inside. His steps aren't entirely silent, but he is pretty quiet as he comes in.

Once within, he pushes the door closed again, and then he lifts a hand to tussle his hair a bit. Tonight had been... complicated? Kurt isn't even sure if that's the most accurate word. He'd gone back to the warehouse after bringing Henry to the medbay, but everything had been essentially settled by the time he'd arrived. And so he'd teleported again, back to the mansion. His ears are a bit drooped, but that might be simply from being thoughtful.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had been sitting on the roof of the mansion when all was said and done and she was able to fly back. There's worry for Hank - and fear for Scott's likely anger when he finds out the man got hurt ... again. She's also dealing with...something...having taken down sentinel after sentinel is one thing. They're robots. Tonight was...different. That had been a person. Sure a person with a group doing bad things and having bad intentions but...

She shakes her head, and takes a look around when she notices Kurt walking towards the stable. That was another worry. She wasn't sure how Kurt - or really anyone - was holding up after tonights little sudden mission. So, curiousity getting the better of her, she takes off from the roof and flies over to the stables herself, landing just after Kurt walks through the door. She's silent as she can be opening the door and slipping in to follow her 'brother'.

Moonstar has posed:
One doesn't have to make sound for Dani to know they are there. If Brightwind doesn't tell her, she can, and will, pick up on them with her own senses. As she feels Kurt and the state of his emotions, she sends a wordless burst of love and friendship and support even as Brightwind whickers a greeting. She knows better, she knows the somewhat drooped ears and tail aren't from being tired or thoughtful.

Silent as Rogue can be is pretty silent indeed. But she still can't hide from Dani. Or from Brightwind. There's a quiet whicker of greeting from the stallion. And another wordless burst of love, friendship, and support. And understanding for both of them, what they'd been through, having to kill people tonight.

Nightcrawler has posed:
There was death that he had delivered during the mission to rescue the kids. It's not the first time that he's killed, and he doesn't expect it to be the last time. They were bad people, and yet.. it was still a sin to take a life, and so he will add another symbol to his collection of them upon his flesh. His tail flicks a bit, from one side to another, and though it doesn't drag on the ground, it isn't held at its normal level either.

The whicker from Brightwind to greet him and the warm wash of emotion from Dani is enough to bring him to lift his ears a little. To perk up a bit, and to even lift his tail towards a more normal level. He draws closer, until he stands quite near the stall door itself. Watching the pair of them. "Thank you, Dani, and to you as well, Brightwnd," he says softly, the words grateful and a little smile finding his lips. He never talks to Brightwind as though he's a horse but more like he's a person. "How are you doing?"

Rogue has posed:
Silent still, even as she feels that push from Dani and Brightwind, Rogue pauses herself just inside the door. She fears that anything said or done would just add to a negative frame of mind, and so she rethinks her motions. A glance up, she spots a point in the rafters where she can just perch and watch. She still says nothing, though by now she knows Dani and Brightwind know she's here and it's very likely Kurt does as well. So she's not really hiding from anyone, but she's also not sure how social she wants to be. She was more concerned about Kurt - along with a shoved together ball of other emotions that she's kept inside her little mind because that is what Rogues do when they're emotional. They inwardly shove it down and hide.

Moonstar has posed:
Dani Moonstar smiles, very slightly. "You're welcome, Kurt," she replies. Brightwind whickers again. He's fully intelligent enough to understand human words and what they mean. Especially with Dani's help interpreting the ones he doesn't know. Brightwind appreciates being treated like a person. He might have an equine shape, but he's not a horse. He's a pegasus from the Asgardian realms. He's fully as intelligent as any human, and more intelligent than some.

"I'm doing okay. Better than you two, I think. Kurt, Tandy didn't mean to hurt your feelings. She was embarassed and didn't want you to see her that way because she doesn't like being that way." She doesn't look up from what she's doing with Brightwind's mane, but keeps her eyes focused on the stallion. "You know hiding won't help, Anna Marie," she says, her tone gentle and full of compassion. "Only sharing it will help ease what you both are feeling."

Nightcrawler has posed:
"You likely are, ja," Kurt agrees, giving a small nod. His tail lightly swishes, from one side to the other, and he faintly lifts one of his shoulders in a little shrug. "I don't know, Dani. There were things that she said... hurtful things. The hurt is... too fresh," he says quietly, his brow furrowing a little bit. He can still hear her saying them, in his head. "What she was tonight... it is a part of what she is. Like my teleporting," he says softly, frowning a little bit. "I like her. But I don't know what to do," he adds, exhaling a soft sigh. He's wrestling with it and trying to sort it out, but there isn't really a sense of clarity to it.

Rogue has posed:
Maybe it wouldn't help, but hiding makes Rogue feel better - at least until the next batch of emotional wreckage hits her and she has to shove that down as well. She isn't entirely certain she wants to talk anything out, and can clearly tell that Kurt likely needs help more than she does. The fact that Kurt isn't in here alone makes Rogue feel at least better about him in the moment, and so she hops down from the rafters if only to shift towards the door of the stables. Her intent, in the moment, is to slip out just as silently as she came in and maybe go find some other, darker, lonelier spot to hide out in for a while.

Moonstar has posed:
Dani Moonstar nods to Kurt's words. "Yeah. I know. As I see it, there are only three things you can really do. One, talk to her. Two, go on like it never happened. Three, break up with her. And I know you don't want to do that last." She finishes brushing Brightwind's mane and turns to lean against his shoulder. She glances at Rogue as the woman comes down and heads for the door. "Anna Marie, if you change your mind, comm me. Any time. Or come find me." The likely places are known, afterall. Brightwind, or her room. Possibly the gym.

Nightcrawler has posed:
There's a glance given down the aisle towards Rogue where she sneaks along, and Kurt raises an eyebrow slightly. He watches her for a long moment, wondering then if she's already and not really being sure about the answer. "You're welcome to stay, if you want," he offers towards her. He doesn't really think that she's okay, nor does he think that he's okay, either.

Kurt turns his glowing yellow gaze over to Dani, watching her. "I don't think that I can ignore that it happened. I can't unhear what she said. I can't pretend that I didn't see her as she was, and that I didn't see her fighting. To go on as though it had never happened would be like living a lie. And you're right... I don't want to break up with her. Which leaves just one option," he says softly, shifting his weight to lean a little against the stall door. To talk to her. Perhaps he should give her some time.
