Date of Scene: 02 May 2021
Location: Dining Hall, Avengers Mansion
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Thor, Iron Man

Thor has posed:
The dining hall portion of the Avengers mansion is rarely used for such. It's not often that the heroes, when gathered, take the time to sit down for a meal of some formality. With them it is usually individuals wandering in and wandering out, taking what they can find and munching. Though there are times when if they do gather to break bread they often just eat around the prep table in the kitchen proper. Thus why it is a touch out of the ordinary for the hall lights to be on, for the artificial assistant to be active...
And for Thor to be seated in that hall with a platter serving tray that holds upon it a turkey of quite some size.
Last night he had decided to stay in the mansion, taking his ease in the room that had been his for several years. His home away from home. Ever since the establishment of New Asgard, however, he rarely slept in the bed held for him, nor even passed much time in the room still designated for 'Point Break'.
Now, however, he was enjoying tearing the occasional strip of turkey from the carcass and chewing thoughtfully. Mjolnir rested upon the table with its grip pointing up at the ceiling and the leather strap hanging low. The Thunderer was wearing what passed for Midgardian clothing, which in his case were brown work boots, a pair of jeans, and a black t-shirt that was perhaps a size too small. Though the black strapless eyepatch was still in its place of prominence.

Iron Man has posed:
Tony Stark is likely the other last person anyone would think to see in the Mansion proper these days. Between his own Penthouse and office, and nothing having really seemed to be massively happening lately, he's just not a familiar face. Except last night he helped deal with a couple of visiting aliens - that went fairly decently he supposed.

Surmising that it was about time to check with some other people and see if there's been anything happening that he might be needed for, he arrives at the mansion. After roaming around to a few places where he found no one and figuring they're off doing whatever Avengers do when not assembled, he does come upon the dining hall, taking note of the light being on and that being a little weird.

Stepping into the room, he looks until he spies that platter of turkey and the Asgardian who is slowly ripping pieces off and chewing on them. A tilt of his head as he walks further in, wearing black shoes, dark denim jeans and a tee-shirt that displays the arc reactor in the middle of his chest and he stops across the table from Thor, giving him a smirk. "Well, I suppose some of us have to eat and give this room some use."

Thor has posed:
At the sound of Tony's voice he might well be rewarded with seeing the tall man in his seat perk up a little and tilt his head to the side. A half-smile flits into place as he straightens up with turkey drumstick in hand. "Stark?"
That single blue eye focuses on the man as he heaves a wry laugh, "And here I thought you would be up in your tower dawdling your day away." For that is what Stark is known for clearly. Dawdling. "What brings you here?"
The Asgardian partially rises and nudges another chair out with the toe of his boot. "Come, sit, eat if you are so inclined. There is plenty to share. Some sort of celebration was held this day past and I am availing myself of the leftovers. No reason we can't share."
That said he returns to his seat and takes a bite from the turkey leg. "How fare you?" Chew-chew-chew, swallow. "And Lady Potts?"

Iron Man has posed:
"Not wanting to dawdle up in my tower." Tony offers as he comes around the table and sits near where Thor has pushed out a chair. Turning it around, he sits in it backwards and reaches to grab a wayward piece of turkey, not being bothered to have a plate or anything.

"Met a couple of aliens last night. Someone named Lar, and another named Gigas. That was interesting." He chews on the turkey for a moment before looking around the room. "What about you? What brings you here? Why are you not hanging out with your fellow Gods in God-land." Another bite. Chew, swallow. "Should get a drink."

A pause comes then before Thor asks that last question. "I'm swell. Fine. Little bored, maybe. It passes though. Pepper is Pepper. She's okay. I think."

Thor has posed:
Acknwoledgement of Tony's first few words is given with a slight tilt of his head that leads into a nod. Indeed dawdling requires a mood. He sets the turkey leg down and casually tears a few strips from it, making small bite-sized bits for him to chew on now and again.
Though it's the mention of aliens that gets his attention, "Ah, did you know from whence they came?" For there have been no small number of aliens these last few years. But then he's easily distracted by the question aimed to him directly.
"I had a meeting with one of those representatives from your United Nations, they sought to ask me of matters regarding the Bifrost and I spoke to them. I know naught if much was learned on either of our sides but it left me feeling..." The tall man looks around the room, still holding the piece of turkey in his hand and then setting it down on his plate with a faint ceramic clink.
A small exhalation of breath, what almost might have been a laugh if he gave it more energy. "It left me feeling, old. Tony. Left me longing for the days when we would adventure. When things were different."
He crinkles his nose and looks across the room, "But." He then looks sidelong to the other Avenger, "I am glad to see you. I am heartened."

Iron Man has posed:
"Lar is from Daxam? Which is in the same area of space at Krypton, where Superman comes from. He's like...their...Superman. Or something." Tony offers, giving a shrug of his shoulders afterwards. At least answering the question before Thor goes on to talk about what he's been up to lately. So he listens and then he nods his head. "Well, that's the United Nations for you. Sometimes you go and you learn a lot. Sometimes you go and then you leave and you're pretty sure you know less then than you did when you walked in."

Stark chuckles after a moment and then nods to what Thor says further. "I know what you mean. I've been feeling... I don't know. Like there's nothing seemingly going on which only makes me worried that something is going to come along soon that will be...huge." A look back to Thor then as he reaches across the table to grab another piece of turkey to chew on. "I am glad to see you too. Really. Has anyone else come around lately?"

Thor has posed:
The tall man gives a nod, "Some of the Avengers aided me several weeks ago when I went in search of an artifact from my homeland." Thor rests his elbows on the table and gestures with his bit of turkey as he relates what he can to Tony.
"We traveled to space for a time, you would have enjoyed it." He tilts his head to the side, good eye lifting upwards as if seeking the tales he should so relate to his comrade. "Wanda discovered a curious issue with some Ley Lines she had discovered and it seems to hearken back to an old adversary of mine."
He takes a bite of the turkey, then rests a hand upon the platter and eases it away, silently offering the rest to Tony and likely having had his fill. "Though what that brings about we have yet to see. Perhaps you will come down from your tower once again and join us." His lip curls a little, then he straightens up as something occurs to him.
"Ah! Captain Rogers was around the other day, he is doing well, has been busy working with SHIELD on something or other I believe. He looked good." A few nods are given.

Iron Man has posed:
Tony Stark is really just snacking on the turkey because it's there to be snacked on. Listening as Thor explains things that have happened in the recent times from him not being around. A nod given and then he raises a brow. "What kind of artefact? What does it do?" Asking because Thor's piqued his interest in that regard.

Then he talks about Wanda discovering an issue that might go back to an old foe of Thor's and that piques his interest a bit further. "Well it seems like you've been sort of busy enough for yourself. Which is good. I'd hate for everyone to be in a rut like the small few of us."

As the turkey is pushed more towards him, he smirks, but he doesn't seem to draw it any closer nor does he push it away. He'll probably put the remaining leftovers back up somehow. They could eat on them for another day or two unless the Asgardian gets really hungry. "Oh Cap was here? Sorry I missed him. I guess I will have to swing by more often, yeah."

Thor has posed:
"Ah as to that!" Thor says, distracted for the moment by Tony asking after what was recovered in space. He takes a deep breath, then holds it and frowns while furrowing his brow. A quick glance around is given as if looking for something and failing to find it. Until he murmurs another 'ah' to himself and leans forward to claim Mjolnir with one hand slightly extended, just enough to take hold of it and draw it over on its side with a faint /whom/ and a clunk.
"You are familiar with the Bifrost, yes? On Asgard it was mounted upon the furthest point from from the kingdom on the great rainbow bridge. It allowed it to traverse and reach all points of the galaxy ultimately." He casually takes the salt shaker and puts it at the end of Mjolnir's pommel, symbolizing that magical gateway.
"Since our coming here to Midgard, we have been trying to rebuild the Bifrost as we can, and have succeeded to an extent. Yet with its place in the bay of Kvalvikka it cannot reach as much as it once could, for it cannot fire through the planet. What was needed was something to be able to contain and redirect the Bifrost's power. Thus enters the artifact. Bor's Shield, we intend to launch it into orbit and when the Bifrost's power connects with it, the shield can redirect... and allow us much more flexibility with where we can reach."
The pepper shaker is placed opposite the salt, creating that symbolic chain of items, though really it's doubtful Tony needed the visual aid. "It was why I was speaking with the Nations United."

Iron Man has posed:
Tony Stark is back to listening, and watching the sort of visual aid that Thor puts together as he explains. He nods, watches, tilts his head, and then seems to consider a few things. "So, essentially, you'll be able to fill out the rainbow bridge which will allow you easier access to all the places you could visit from...the Bifrost?" He's trying to understand it. "Is this also something you're doing to help rebuild Asgard? Just as a question of curiosity." Adding this as he looks to the salt and pepper shakers, tilting his head a bit before leaning back some. "I do wish you luck and hope it all works out. If I can help in any way, do let me know."

Thor has posed:
"It is our attempt to reclaim some of what was lost," Thor answers and then pushes himself to his feet, the chair scraping across the floor behind him. "It should be of aid to all of Midgard, ultimately. A means of transportation to and back from the stars."
The Asgardian waves a hand to the side, "In any case, it will take time. I will keep you abreast of matters." That said Thor smiles a touch and then gives a small pat upon Tony's shoulder.
"You enjoy my thanks, my friend. I should get underway, I have procrastinated enough already." He turns and starts to walk toward the door that leads into he kitchen, and likely from there to the backyard. He reaches a hand over his shoulder and Mjolnir leaps across the distance with a low /whom/ as it slaps into his hand.
    "Until the next time, Stark."
