The pseudo-siblings play catchup
Date of Scene: 03 May 2021
Location: Kurt's Room (North Halls), Xavier's School
Synopsis: Rogue and Kurt have a heart to heart after leaving a social gathering.
Cast of Characters: Nightcrawler, Rogue

Nightcrawler has posed:
With a belly full of delicious food, and little in the way of alcohol to drink, it was as the party was breaking up that Kurt sought out his sister. He gently prodded her shoulder, and then he tucked his arm around one of hers before teleporting with her back to his room. And once there, he released her before walking over to his bed to settle on the end of it, drawing his feet up beneath him in cross-legged fashion. And he settles his hands to his lap, watching her. "Are you doing okay, Rogue?" he asks softly, a gentle note to his voice. He doesn't necessarily have a reason for asking, but... Kurt cares about her, and that leads to worrying about her. And she was a bit off on her own, at the gathering.

Rogue has posed:
Having a slightly full belly with both food and a bit of alcohol, the party began to wind down and Rogue finds herself joined by her brother. After a moment of him getting her attention and taking her arm, when they poof into his room she smirks - and knows she can always go back to get her car later. Watching him sit on his bed, moving to get himself cross legged in sitting, her head tilts as he asks that question of her. "Yeah, Kurt, I'm fine." She's not lying, per se, but she's not really telling the whole truth either. As a whole she's fine, but sometimes in big social gatherings she finds herself being the odd one out. No one to really talk to, and not one to just butt into conversations. "Was just a big party...and I seemed...to be intruding in a way."

Nightcrawler has posed:
The fuzzy blue elf tilts his head a little to one side, watching her closely, studying her. He lifts one of his hands, and he lightly pulls his fingers through his hair. "I have a feeling that there is something missing in your answer," Kurt says softly, a gentle tone to his voice. "Should I fetch tea and cookies?" he offers, his tail lightly swishing behind him. "It was a lot of people. And you're never intruding, you know," he says, a smile coming to his features. "I'm going to test the shower that Henry was working on. I volunteered. It might get a bit messy, but... it's for you, and I'd do anything for you to help you," he says softly, giving a small nod to her.

Rogue has posed:
The southern belle takes a breath and then shifts to sit next to Kurt on the edge of his bed, but she more leans back on her elbows, looking over towards him. "I mean if you want tea and cookies, I ain't gonna say no..." She offers before shaking her head. "The only thing I can ever do really is look on. Handshakes and pats on the back as opposed to hugs. This...stupid outfit of pants and a sweatshirt because I can't wear shorts and a tank top." Another breath inhaled then before she pushes herself up off the bed once more and she paces a bit when he brings up testing the shower for Hank. This causes her to pause as she glances to him. "That shower...is for me?" A thought. "Oh. Right. Did he mention what it was supposed to do for me?"

Nightcrawler has posed:
That glowing yellow gaze of his follows her as she comes over to sit next to him, and he chuckles softly. "Tea and cookies can wait a little while," he says softly, not seeming to mind either way. He listens to what she says after that, and then he gives a nod. "I know, Anna Marie... and there are times when I want to hug you and just squish you," he says softly, a smile touching his lips. He tilts his head a little bit to one side, and then he gives a nod. "He did, ja. Even if he hadn't explained, I still would have volunteered to test it," he comments, a smile tugging his lips.

Rogue has posed:
"I'm sure there are times when a few people want to just hug me. There's times when I want to hug others. Sometimes I feel like I should borrow a page from Deadpool's book and just wear a complete body suit, mask included." Rogue says this, but there's a bit of venom in her words. "We've talked about this before...but it goes beyond even romantic relationships. It seems my entire social life is hindered." A pause and she sits next to Kurt again. Then she does the one form of comforting contact she can, reaching for his closer hand to give a gentle squeeze. "Thank you. For helping Hank out with that. It...it really means a lot.... I actually didn't realize the shower was for me... I wonder what he plans to use for the purpose of what it's going to hopefully do..."

Nightcrawler has posed:
"There likely are, that's true. You're huggable, when you let yourself be," he says softly, leaning in to give her a bit of a nudge with his shoulder. "I know we've talked about it before, and... I don't want to upset you, Anna Marie," he adds, ducking his chin a little bit. He turns his hand when she takes it, giving her hand a gentle squeeze in turn, a smile touching his lips. "You're welcome. I'll always help you, you know. It doesn't matter what it is, I will," he promises, giving a small nod to her. "I... didn't know that you didn't know. I won't tell you what it does, but I know what it does. And I think it's pretty amazing," he says, his yellow eyes brighter. "I won't spoil the rest of the surprise," he adds, giving her hand a squeeze.

Rogue has posed:
"I'm not upset, Kurt. Not anymore than I usually stay because it's a constant thing for me." Anna Marie offers, feeling that squeeze to her hand and she actually smiles. "I know you will..and if ever needed..I'll always help you too. "We're family, even if not by blood, and I love you as much as any sister would love their brother." That smile remains on her lips and she chuckles. "Well, Hank mentioned a tanning bed, not a shower. But I know what it's purpose might be. Hank and I talked about doing something that will help me be able to wear less, do more..." Something that will protect others from her powers while letting her live life a bit more freely. "I won't make you spoil the surprise, Kurt. But I'm excited that you're a part of it." Squeezing his hand back once more.

Nightcrawler has posed:
There's a little bit of a nod, and a smile tugs at the corners of his lips. "I know that you would. Not all family is by blood. I grew up with people who weren't related to me by blood," he says softly, leaning a little against her. "I love you as much as any brother would love their sister, too, and I'd do anything for you. I especially want to hug you sometimes, a lot," he admits, giving a small nod. He considers her words about Henry's project, and then he gives a nod. "I can understand wanting that. And I'm glad to be a part of it. Even if it might get a little bit messy," he says, quirking a grin. "I want you to be able to do more," he adds, giving a small nod to her. He wants her to be able to have something more like normal. His sense of normal is... skewed, as many see his appearance and jump to conclusions that are wrong.

Rogue has posed:
"There are a few who understand it. I can't put myself exactly in your shoes, Kurt, but I know it's not been easy for you either. For Hank also, now, since he's pretty much the Blue Meanie all the time. And I'm not trying to say my issues are any more than yours." Rogue says this much and then smiles. "Yours or anyone elses, really. I'm just tired of feeling trapped..." She chuckles, however, when he says it might get a little messy for him helping her. "How messy might it get? Is he spraying you with mud or something?" She asks this before shaking her head just a little. "You know, I think I could really go for tea and cookies now. Wanna sneak into the kitchen for a late night snack?"

Nightcrawler has posed:
"I can't put myself in your shoes entirely, either. I mean... the hardest thing that we can do is to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, Anna Marie," Kurt says softly, a smile touching his lips. "The first time I teleported? I was fourteen. Someone had a gun in my face and was going to shoot me," he says quietly, then gives a small shake of his head. "It is what it has been, and I have survived it to be still alive. I try to move past it all a little bit each day," he says, giving a small nod to her. "And I'm not telling how messy it might get, but it will be worth it," he says, his yellow eyes bright. "A late night snack with tea sounds perfect," he says with a grin, his tail swishing.
