Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will tell Alexis he has plans for them, and part of it will be dinner at a 5 star restaurant in New York City. The young man, even made sure his Tux was cleaned and shoes were polished. So Sam will come out of the Bathroom, dressed to the nines.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis was suspicious that Sam was getting all cleaned up, and has selected a dress -- but when she realized he was going to be wearing a tux?

One: He looks *good* in a tux.

Well, she had to wear something appropriate too, wouldn't she?

She she was wearing a spring blue colored dress, with a gathering of the fabric at her waist and a moderate neckline. The dress was sleeveless, but she had a matching jacket draped over one arm and her matte gray heels. in her other hand as she gave a smile, looking Sam up and down.

"You look... seriously handsome." she states to him, walking over and going to her tip-toes to kiss at Sam's jaw. Her dark hair was in a smart up-do, with a few whispy curls to either side of her face.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and slides his arm around you, leaning down to make plant a full kiss on her lips. "I thought I would give you a very special night tonight love." He grins and offers her a small package. Inside of it are a pair of Opera glasses.

Prismatic has posed:
"... a special night...?" she questions, her eyes narrowing a moment at Sam before she accepts the package. She purses her lips, and looks to her left hand, confirming that yes, the engagement ring is still there, sparkling away -- but she opens the package, and gives a little gasp.

    "Oh! Sam! They're beautiful!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles at her, and takes her hand to lead her out of the room and towards the garage "I was able to get a couple tickets, and thought you would be like to go see a show." He shows her the tickets, and it one of the harder shows to get tickets to. Sam has pulled out all the stops. In the garage he leads her towards an Aston Martin Valkyrie. He opens the gull doors for her holding the door, "Your ride for tonight, my love."

Prismatic has posed:
The once homeless young woman blinks, quickly stepping into her heels and pulling on her jacket as she follows Sam down -- she wasn't expecting a fight, but this?

"... Sam, this is a regular James Bond car --" she whispers quietly, and she looks at the tickets and her eyes go wide, and then she looks up at Sam "And Il Trovatore?!" she questions, and then she breathes out in a soft huff, and reaches into her clutch. "Oh, oh good! The gloves are still there."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins at her, and says "Well, Ah may not be able to take you to the opening of every show like Ah would like to, but Ah can give you a night like you deserve on occasion." He moves to climb into the car. "And I can occassionally borrow a James Bond car." He jokes and starts the car up, and yea it has all the bells and whistles.

Prismatic has posed:
"... Sam, I get all the nights I deserve." Alexis states as she gives a smile, her hand pressing lightly against his arm.

"I get to wake up next to you. What more could I ask for?" she smiles, and she gives a little, appreciative whistle.

"... you're going to drive this safely, right?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins and takes her hand and squeezes it softly "Safer than Berto does Ah am sure." He tells, and starts heading into town, fast but not recklessly. "Ah am the lucky one in the mornings, getting to see the woman I love, and knowing Ah get to spend time with her."

Prismatic has posed:
"I somehow think you do everything safer than Berto does..." Alexis murmurs teasingly at Sam and she makes sure she's secure in her seat, just in case. She takes a deep breath and looks over a tthe spedometer, and then up at Sam with a little smile.

"So... dinner and a show. Been a while since we've done anything so fancy."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Well, I know you enjoy the opera, and some of the folks at the club had actually mentioned it believe it or not." He tells her, as they drive along and says "I looked into it, and was having issues finding tickets, but well when you know someone who has reserved seating to all the places in town, you can sometimes get around show that are sold out.

Prismatic has posed:
"I enjoy the opera like you enjoy a worn pair of sneakers. Opera is literally in my blood. I was singing airas before I was old enough to know what the word meant, but I don't think I could ever sing Dido's Lament again." Alexis replies with a quiet sound, and she gives a smile,

"So, I have Berto to thank for this night out? Did he hook you up with a new tux, too?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head, and says "Well, yes and no, he sent me to this guy for it, when we had a mission where Ah needed it a couple weeks back." He admits. He drives along and says "You know, if you wanted to Ah bet you could start a community play with operas, and such in Salem Center if you wanted to hon." He looks over to her for a moment "If it is a song you love hon, we should find a way to make a new good memory attached to it, maybe you can teach it to me?"

Prismatic has posed:
"Dido's lament is sung by a woman, Sam." Alexis gives a little smile, and leans back. "Aeneas, betrayed in Troy and defeated, is sailing back to Italy, but he's blown off course and ends up in Carthage, where he attracts the love of the queen, Dido. However -- he cannot stay, as he must secure his son's lineage in Rome. So, he sails away, abandoning her. Dido is watching his ships, and pleads her lady-in-waiting to let her rest against her breast. She asks 'Remember me, but ah, forget my fate' as a pyre is built up, and she stabs herself, and falls into the pyre to perish. It's... nooot a happy song."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head a bit and says "No, I don't think it is very happy," He considers making a jab about Jay being able to sing it but at the story probably best not to." He continues to drive along the to the place, and finds the valet guys, giving a big tip, to keep Berto's car safe. "So what song would ya teach me to croak through?"

Prismatic has posed:
"Depending on how quickly we brush up your Italian, you might make a dashing Figaro -- or maybe we could get Kurt to give you pointers in German for Die Est Mine Ganzes Herst?" Alexis gives a bright smile.

"Figaro being the titular Barber of Seville, mind you. You don't have the deep enough tones to be the seductive Mephistopheles." she gives a grin, and accepts Sam's arm as they walk into the restaurant.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and smiles "Are there any Spanish, or Vietnamese Operas, Ah could learn?" He asks her, as they make their way in, and he looks over to her "And Ah did not even sneak in any popcorn or peanuts." He jokes as they find their way to one of the nicer box seats. "I will work on anyone ya want me to hon, for you."

Prismatic has posed:
"There are literally thousands of operas out there, Sam. I'm sure we can find some esoteric Vietnamese operas, but I would imagine they are different than Western opera." Alexis replies, "... but quizically, Opera was slow to catch on in Spain. They're much more the Spoken Word there, rather than musicals."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "We were taught three languages when we first got here, but they were taught to us telepathicly, pretty much so we could speak each other's native languages." He tells her as they find their seats.

Prismatic has posed:
"-- who on your team spoke Vietnamese as their primary language?" Alexis questions, feeling incredibly giddy in the box seats. It was like bringing a baseball fan to a spot right behind home plate. She was positively joyful, and hardly able to keep still.

"Yours is English, Berto's would have been Portugese."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Portugese and Spanish both for him, Xi'an was a refugee from Vietnam, with her little brother and sister. Dani, Rahne, and ah all spoke English, or something closely resembling it." He smiles at her. "Ah worked on Russian and French the old fashioned, but was not as good at them.

Prismatic has posed:
"My French and German I learned through opera, so it's somewhat... antiqutated now." Alexis gives a small smile, leaning lightly against Sam in their box. "I recall getting marks off my Italian tests, since I spoke Abruzzi Italian and not 'Proper Italian'."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins and says "Hey Ah used to get grief for using aint in papers, had to train myself to it." He will slide his arm around her, letting her teach him, anything about the opera as it goes along.

Prismatic has posed:
"... that is actually a most apt comparrison. IT would be like taking an English exam at Oxford and using Colloquial Kentuckian English -- I speak Hick Italian." the girl jokes, and begins to ggiggle as the lights go down, and she raises her opera glasses up.

"I wonder if I'll recognize anyone..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is mostly quiet during the show. He will ask a question here and there making sure he understood what is being sung about at a few moments where he aint 100% sure of whats happening. He rubs Alexis's back now and again, smiling seeing her enjoying herself.

Prismatic has posed:
ALexis will quietly explain what's going on, and why some parts use certain tonalities. She will offer commentary that sometimes the supertitles, broadcast over the stage to help those who speak no Italian get the gist of what was being sung about doesn't always translate equally to English, and there is nuances with what's being sung. She teaches him the light soprano, soprano, mezzo soprano, mezzo alto, alto, contralto, tenor, barritone and basses and the trope characters within -- but quietly. Didn't want ti make anyone have to come up and hush them.

She cries, a little during one particular song.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hugs her a bit closer during the sing, trying to show her support, not sure if it is the song or a memory that causes the tears, but letting her know he is there for her. The young man will even offer her his hanky to wipe her eyes with.

Prismatic has posed:
The very gentlemanly offer of the hankie gives a small giggle out of Alexis... who then snorts, and attempts to hide both her crying and her giggles by leaning her head against Sam's shoulder.

There's a soft, muttered phrase against him, but she straightens up, her gloved hand lacing in his hand.

    "This is a good date."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and kisses the top of her head when she leans on his shoulder "Well you deserve perfect dates my love." He tells her, and grins at her "Ah wonder if we can get backstage. Do you know any of them?

Prismatic has posed:
"I'm afraid by name only. Keep in mind, /my/ classmates are probably still either chorus members or working in Europe. I was... a special case." she smiles, and looks over the program.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "They do any type of after show or such, where we can get your program signed if ya want it. Ah mean know it might not be the type of thing they do."

Prismatic has posed:
"Sometimes if you hang around the backstage doors, you'll catch them coming out... but most... people don't get autographs of opera singers. A lot of them probably have day jobs -- New York is expensive." she whispers, and she looks back to Sam.

"... you know, I never thought I would miss it so much. Being on stage."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Want to hide out until everyone is gone, and see if we can sneak on stage?" He asks her smiling and is seriously willing to with her if she wants to.

Prismatic has posed:
"Sam! No, that'd be so awful!" Alexis gives a laugh, turning red, her cheeks glowing and her ears turning a bit red. "I know if I want to sing, all I have to do is give you The Eyes and you'll clear Evolution's DJ schedule for me." she teases lightly.

"I've got you wrapped around my little finger."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and takes her hand and kisses that finger and says "Well maybe a little bit." He grins at her. "Well I would do pretty much anything for ya, that is true." He admit.

Prismatic has posed:
"... and I you." she states with the utmost seriousness, and she turns her gaze to Sam with a smile, warmth in her eyes.

"I'm glad our paths crossed. I don't know where I would be without you."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and holds her hands and says "Well, I think it was ment to be my love." He grins at her, and says "We are where we both should be." He grins at her "So ready for food?"

Prismatic has posed:
"Yes. I'm *starving* after sitting through an opera with no popcorn or peanuts!" she jokes.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins and leads her out getting the car as they come out. He again holds the door for her, giving her a smile, and then driving to a really nice restaurant, and a table out on a balcony where they have a wonderful view, and they so some of the best fusion food in the city.

Prismatic has posed:
It's a lovely night, not too cool, not too hot, the candle flickering around them as they talk, and laugh. Alexis, truly appreciative of all the time Sam has spent with her, gazing at him with love and warmth. She gives a small laugh.

"If we weren't already engaged, I would be so very suspicious." she remarks quietly to him, reaching and holding his hand, the candle light reflecting in her dark eyes.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins a bit and says "Well, I had thought about something like this for when I was going to ask, but after getting your Grand parents permission to ask, and seeing that spot, I could think of no better time or place than there." He grins a bit sheepishly

Prismatic has posed:
"No, no, that was... pretty much the perfect spot. I either had to say yes or throw myself to an uncertain fate." Alexis's eyes light up, and she reaches up to Sam's cheek.

"My mom approves. My grandparents all approve. *Your* mom approves."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "And all the little ones too. Ah think the family at the school approve of ya too." He jokes a bit with her, and grins "Besides if you had jumped, Ah would have caught you."

Prismatic has posed:
"Even the donkeys liked you." Alexis gives a smile, and leans her head to one side.

"... oh no. Sam. Do you have any idea how your siblings are going to take being aunts and uncles at some point?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins and says "Oh I am sure, they will love it, the only person I worry about is Jay, as if we have kids first, I am pretty sure Andrea will put some heavy pressure on him to have kids of their own.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis pauses, and gets that Thousand Yard Stare.

"... Andrea will never forgive me if we get married first and have kids first."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and leans over to kiss Alexis cheek "Well remind her we had a head start."

Prismatic has posed:
"PReeetty sure she was already dating Jay when we met!" Alexis laughs, and squeezes Sam's hand.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head and says "Na, Jay was not at the school, when we started dating." He offers her "They been together maybe about half the time we have.
