Another Lux-filled Evening
Date of Scene: 05 May 2021
Location: Club Lux, Melville
Synopsis: Phoebe Beacon graces Club Lux with her presence again, and Tyler Grant runs security ops. Sort of.
Cast of Characters: Twitch, Sparrowhawk, Lucifer

Twitch has posed:
The Lux is not as busy tonight as it is on the weekends, but for a Tuesday night it is hopping. There are folks enjoying the dance floor, bouncing around in rhythm with the music. Others are doing some drinking. Overall there's a lot of partying happening for a weeknight.

One of the folks here tonight is Tyler. He's dressed in a pretty nice suit, as a matter of fact, black on black. Quite stylish. And he's hanging out, leaning against the bar and enjoying some manner of cocktail or other. Doesn't look particularly like the young man is in a partying mood so much as he's watching the people in the establishment.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Another of the folks back here tonight? Phoebe Beacon. The Gotham semi-Socialite having beaten the line once again, coming in off an earlier patrol. In lieu of braids, she has her hair up in a pair of 'poodle puffs', wearing a blue cocktail dress as she makes her way along the edges of the dance floor, her dark eyes searching the room for a familiar face, before she makes it over to the bar, giving a smile -- and ingloriously asking for a ginger ale, with a little grenadine for color.

Unlike most everyone else here, she doesn't have a clutch or a tiny purse -- she has a small backpack, and she gladly takes out a card to start a tab on.

Lucifer has posed:
This may be one of those nights where Lucifer is paying Tyler under the table to keep a special eye out for those who might be trying to stifle the Devil himself. As it stands, when Phoebe orders a ginger ale with a splash of grenadine, it may have been a slightly shorter, blonde haired fellow taking the order, but it's put in front of her by the taller, more athletic, blue eyed owner of the club itself.

"Why Phoebe. Two nights in one week, and in a row no less... I might have to pinch myself. Am I just that compelling?" Asking this as he leans a bit on the bar in front of her, a brief glance over to Tyler before his eyes return to the young woman. He smiles, in that sort of way he has, and doesn't yet reach for the proffered card. "Business or pleasure?"

Twitch has posed:
Apparently not noticing anything too out of the ordinary or dangerous, Tyler takes a few steps closer to where Lucifer and the young lady are speaking together. "Good evening, Lucifer." Then he looks to Phoebe and smiles at her, "How are you doing Ms?" He looks like he's trying to relax but just can't quite pull it off. Must be working. Still, he's a friendly sort of guy, "Nice night to be out on the town, isn't it?"

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Oh, thank yo--Lucifer! You must have an alert that lets you know if I'm in the building now. I *had* a pressing question but --" she pauses as Tyler makes his way over to them, and the younger woman sips her grenadine-laden ginger ale, and then looks to Lucifer "It can wait. Friend of yours?" she smiles to the friendly fellow

Lucifer has posed:
"Something like that, Phoebe." Lucifer quips, looking over to Tyler once more then and he smiles. "Evening Tyler. How have things looked so far? Nothing amiss?" Asking it openly, because why not? Let people know he has eyes even where they don't expect them to be. It will leave people wondering and maybe not chancing to dance with the Devil.

"A question? Well, you can ask it if you want, or we can wait until a little later. Tyler here is here at my request. Keeping an eye out on things for me." This offered then, and he shakes his head at the card. "It's just ginger ale, Phoebe. If you order food, then you can pay for that. These drinks are on the house."

Twitch has posed:
"Everything's kosher, boss man," Tyler says to Lucifer with a smile and a thumbs up. If the big man doesn't want to hide the fact Tyler's keeping an eye on things then the young man sees no reason to. "Folks are behaving themselves."

"It's cool if you want to ask him something privately. I can find something to occupy my time," the young man says with a little bit of a chuckle. "It's easy to stay busy here even if I'm not working." Bringing his drink to his lips he has a sip.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Ah... well I would say something about having to tip the service, but you might take it as an invitation." she states a moment, and then she shakes her head, and pulls aside the collar of her borrowed jacket. There's a bruise there. Lucifer would have noticed it last night easily, but it looks like something that has several days worth of healing already done. "Just ran into a bit of trouble at work. Figured I could use a drink, but... being as I'm just a little college girl --" she bats her eyes innocently "... this was actually the closest, safest place I could think of." she explains to the two.

Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer nods to Tyler. "Wonderful. I am glad to hear it. It's a slow night, so if you get bored and want to head out, or just enjoy yourself a bit more in an off duty sense, let me know." That way he could pay for services rendered and Tyler would be free to go about his merry.

His attention goes back to Phoebe as she shows off that bruise on her neck and his eyes flicker for a moment, seemingly filled with flashes of fire. They're gone about as soon as they appear and he reaches to touch against the edge of the bruise. "Trouble at work? What sort of trouble at work?" A pause. "Trouble where you needed to be somewhere else to feel safe? What's going on?"

Twitch has posed:
"I might do some dancing in a bit, I just want to make sure everything's going smoothly first," Tyler says to Lucifer with a nod, though Phoebe's injury has his attention. He frowns deeply when he studies it, then looks to the other fellow for a bit. Eventually his gaze will return to the young woman and he'll offer, "If you want me to I could swing by your work and make sure things are on the up and up."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Oh, someone tried to lay their hands on part of Mr. Drake's superhero collection while I was transporting part of it through Goth-" she pauses, just a moment as Lucifer reaches out to touch her bruise, and she seems to blush, goosebumps rising up before she continues "-- I was transporting part of Mr. Drake's superhero collection through Gotham. Some guy tried to grab the bag, landed a punch, so I grabbed him and threw him into a wall to knock him out."

Phoebe looks a little miffed at the idea of needing protection. "I happened to be moving it to a storage facility nearby, so I came by afterwards." she states, pulling her jacket back over her shoulder.

Of course, on darker skin it might be harder to tell its age, but she's not lying.

"I'm the new curator, part time, for Tim Drake's Superhero Memorbelia, so -- I move pieces around the Tri-County area. I also taught Aikido as an assistant instructor." she gives a small smile to both Tyler and Lucifer, and then looks embarrassed "Really, the other guy got the worst of it. I broke his nose."

She pointedly is not looking at Lucifer's eyes.

Lucifer has posed:
"I believe the young woman can surely take care of herself. Not every damsel one comes across is in distress, Tyler." Lucifer comments, his hand drawing back as Phoebe sort of closes in on herself a bit. "Well, so long as he got the worst of it. Still, if I need to actually give you a body guard, do not question me. I will." Then he points to Tyler. "Regardless of what it costs me." Then he smiles. "So you're drinking ginger ale... did you *want* something with a little more alcohol in it?"

Twitch has posed:
"Serves him right," Tyler says when Phoebe explains what she did to the guy. "It's good that you know how to take care of yourself. Most people don't take protecting themselves seriously." Then he smiles a little bit, "If you ever want to spar some time I'm a mixed martial artist, myself. BJJ and kickboxing mainly, but I practice stuff from a few other systems."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Phoebe gives a little smile, and she hoists her drink.

"I don't drink alcohol. One: College sophomore. Two? It... doesn't agree with me." PHoebe tries to explain without the obvious part. The reason why she's at the very end of the bar -- why?

Because people around her are sobering quicker.

"I take protection very seriously -- I'd spar against you sometime -- I'm sorry, introductions--" she gives a grin "Properly. Phoebe Beacon, how do you do?" she smiles, giving a wave, and then she leans over to Lucifer.

"The pressing question, incidentally -- it doesn't hurt you if I touch you, right?" she asks, under the music.

Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer nods to Tyler and gives the man a smirk. "It doesn't surprise me that you'd know at least one martial art. You seem the type. I can fight if I need, but I try not to...it often can lead to...a bit more dangerous outbursts." The Devil admits, even if people won't believe it. His attention caught by Phoebe after a moment and he tilts his head. "Well, I hadn't really thought about it. I suppose it's a bit...almost like a tickling sensation. An irritating itch that won't go away...but at the same time, it doesn't really bother me enough for it to be a thing." His head tilts the other way then. "Still, there is something about you Phoebe Beacon. We'll figure it out in due time, I'm sure."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"I beleive it." Phoebe replies quietly, and then she purses her lips a moment, learing Lucifer describe how it feels, and she gives a soft 'hm'.

"I know ordinarily, people feel either like their arm's fallen asleep or feel like cool water on their skin. Depends on the depth I suppose," she comments quietly to Lucifer, beneath the music still, rubbing the back of her neck a brief moment before looking to Lucifer with an 'uh-huh' expression

"Well, as long as I don't show up to work with too many additional bruises and make Mr. Drake suspicious of my night time activities, should be fine!"

Lucifer has posed:
"Well...from what I can tell...it's almost like you have a purity within you. And, well, purity can be devestating to one who's life revolves around people and their volition to sin time and time again." Lucifer offers, and then gives a shrug of his shoulders. "I suppose I could more equate it to a numbing feeling, but less the falling asleep bit and more the pins and needles you get while trying to wake your arm up...I just want to shake it out." He pours himself a glass of whiskey, lifting it to take a long sip. "You're safe so long as you're here, Phoebe. I promise you this much."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"I'm safe no matter where I go. I don't doubt that Tim monitors my GPS signal no matter where I roam, just in case. I mean, any town with more than one costumed vigilante's sure to be a precarious place, right?" she smiles back pleasantly to Lucifer, sipping her ginger-ale and grenadine.

"I should probably move a little, though. I tend to make people's livers work much more easily -- I'd hate for your bartenders to be accused of serving watered-down drinks on Yelp."

Lucifer has posed:
A nod is given at the first thing Phoebe says about being safe because she's also monitored. Lucifer seems to raise a brow at that, but he doesn't really comment on it one way or the other at the moment. Instead he chuckles and looks around his bar. "Masked vigilantes make me nervous. Mostly because they shouldn't have to make themselves unknown..."

As Phoebe then mentions that she should move due to making livers work better, he gives a nod and motions. "We can always go back up to that little private venue. If Tyler needs me for anything, he knows where it is. That way you won't be around anyone but me, and alcohol doesn't affect me anyway so...care to?"

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Heh, I ought to be careful -- people will start to talk." the dark-haired young woman says, and she shifts to stand, taking her drink with her, then reconsidering she drains the rest of it (grenadine stains, you know), and she goes to follow Lucifer up to the VIP area.

"... although I admit, already had my question answered."

Lucifer has posed:
"If you were really worried about people talking, would you have actually stepped into the Devil's Den?" Lucifer asks, watching as she downs that drink before raising a brow, picking up his whiskey and leads the way to that VIP area. "You had one question answered. Last night it seemed you had several. We'll get there. Eventually." This offered as he motions her to pass him and settle in one of those plush couches.

Twitch has posed:
"Sorry about that," Tyler tells the pair after returning to them. "Thought I saw someone starting to make trouble." The young man shrugs his shoulders and says, "Gotta make sure things stay for anybody not trying to start a fight. Turns out being a tall dude the other staff know by name in a suit gets people to take you seriously." There's a grin then as he finishes off his drink and sets it on a table. "Quick talk and he calmed himself right down, but he knows if he gets rowdy he'll be leaving and not on his own two feet."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"... considering what the Gotham gossip rags say about me?" Phoebe asks quietly, and she steps in, and settles on one of the couches, and giving a look to Tyler, she looks back to Lucifer as she settles in.

"So... he's... in the know about things? With you?"

Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer shrugs and shakes his head some. "I don't know what the Gotham rags say about you. I know that you're a bit a ways from Gotham at the moment, and considered this a safe space." Then he glances to Tyler and back to Phoebe before giving a shrug. "He knows. Whether he believes it, accepts it, or just doesn't think it matters is entirely his deal. We have an understanding. Most whom I trust with things know who I really am. Others just play on the name not knowing how close to the truth they are."

Twitch has posed:
"I figure he might just be the king of Hell," says Tyler with a shrug. "I once didn't see him move when he moved so I know there's more to him than a regular club owner, but I won't hold that against him." There's a grin at that as Tyler moves over to get a better view of the club. "He's a good guy. I trust him almost as much as I trust anybody out there." Twitch has some secrets, after all. "His taste in tailors is absolutely on point, too." He tugs at his lapels for emphasis.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"For someone who went from shopping Target and Thrift Stores, I'll take your word for it." the girl in the blue dress replies, and motions downards.

"This was purchased for me. I miss wearing pants all the time." Phoebe jokes, and rolls her shoulder a moment, then looks to Lucifer, then back to Tyler.

"So, what's your deal then, just martial artist and hired muscle with a heart of gold?"

Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer tilts his head and then seems to consider something. "Are you required to wear dresses or something? Or is it just you haven't been able to go shopping for clothing yourself?" One of those issues could be quickly resolved, really. Though he does also smirk at Tyler. "You already stopped one event from happening, I doubt anyone else will try anything. If you would rather go enjoy the club." Then he checks his watch. "Hmm, whens your curfew, Phoebe?"

Twitch has posed:
"I know how that goes, used to frequent Goodwill all the time, myself," Tyler says to Phoebe with a shrug. "I still wear that stuff most of the time, but if I'm here I want to look good."

Then he nods his head, "Hired muscle, martial artists, heart of gold. That's pretty much me to a 'T'." Then he chuckles, "I do like helping people out, though. I spend some time in Mutant Town doing good deeds and stuff."

Looking over to Lucifer Tyler shrugs, "I don't mind keeping an eye on things, but I might get another drink and take a turn around the dance floor."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Club dress code at the two other clubs I've been in my life require the ladies to wear dresses or skirts, and this one? Selected by my friend who lost her wallet." she gives a small smile. "I'm much more what you found me in at the riverside than what you see me here in the club -- but 'when in Rome'--" she pauses, and she purses her lips a moment, and glances to her own wrist.

"... haven't gotten any alerts or location pings yet."
