Tech Brainstorm!
Date of Scene: 06 May 2021
Location: Fortress Asgard, Kvalvika, New Asgard
Synopsis: The Artisans of Asgard offer to share some of their knowledge.
Cast of Characters: Thor, Power Girl, Iron Man

Thor has posed:
Fortress Asgard is not as grand as what once was the glory of the golden city. While the Castle was regal, standing tall with grant spires, the Fortress looks more utilitarian and aimed at creating a sense of safety rather than grandeur. It is all high walls, strong turrets, with the silhouette of soldiers walking the walls to keep the settlement safe.
Yet inside there is some testament to the artistry of the Asgardians. There are tapestries in the long halls that each depict a tale from Asgard's past. Heroic images, grand tableaus, and righteous warriors all. Then there are the rooms within, and while the throne room is large and open, the smaller rooms on the same floor are more snug and comfortable.
Such as the one that Thor finds himself in now. One of the four libraries in the fortress though this one holds some prominence considering some of the volumes that are held there. Tomes of magic, treatises on craftsmanship, and what art has been saved from the fallen homeland of Asgard.
It is there in the conversation area that the drink cart has been set. An abundance of liquors are present as well a tray of comestibles fit for the nobility. It is there in that room that Thor sits, and waits for those worthies that had been told of a meeting that would likely serve all concerned well.

Power Girl has posed:
Admittedly, she'd been a little surprised when she got the request to attend a meeting at New Asgard. Something about her science background and wanting input on something. While she wasn't like besties with Thor, they were on friendly terms and she agreed. After all, she'd had a lovely visit last time. It would be fun to share food and stories again.

Plus she was curious as to what they had stirring they wanted her input. Killing cats be damned, she wanted to know.

So a few moments before the appointed time, Power Girl floated down from the sky and landed in courtyard of the castle. There she was met by some guards who led her through the building to the library.

She stepped in the room, giving a bright smile. "Good to see you again, your majesty." She even was proper this time instead of fumbling over everything.

Iron Man has posed:
Tony Stark arrives at Fortress Asgard, stepping into and through the halls looking around at them while making his way to the library where he's likely led to - you know so he doesn't get lost - stepping into that library to only look around once more. He's in suit and tie tody, with wristbands on, a watch, chewing gum and wearing tinted glasses. A glance given to Power Girl before he looks over to Thor.

There's a smile, and he walks straight over to one of the several drink carts to pluck himself a glass of whiskey, lifting it in a sort of 'toast' fashion before taking a drink. "Great digs you got here. Seems like it's all coming together nicely for you, Thor." This much as he further approaches the table and sits, he more lounges back, getting comfortable. Propriety? No. They're friends. Tony treats their being in the same room as such - cause there's no feeling in the air that shows anything more or less is needed. As if he would act any differently anyway.

Thor has posed:
"And you, Power Girl." Thor answers as the guards near the door step back and to the side, allowing the entrance into the room. First the Justice Leaguer, then the brilliant billionaire. "Ah, perfectly timed, Stark."
Thor's voice takes on a warm tilt to it, clearly pleased to see his friend. "Thank you for coming. I hope this meeting will prove fruitful." His lip twists, "And please, help yourself to refreshment." Such is said to Power Girl as well.
It's only shortly after that a third figure darkens the doorway as she steps in.
A tall woman, blond as well though perhaps not as built as the superheroine. Yet she wears the breeks and jerkin of an Asgardian noble replete with crafted bracers and a slender sword at her hip. She enters and gives a partial bow before she says, "I am here at your behest, your majesty."
"Stark, Power Girl, this is Liese Torinsdottir. She is one of the artisans that has put so much effort into restoring what we have been able to. I asked for her presence..."
A glance is given to the guards at the door and there's a shake of the head. "I had asked another, but perhaps they are unable to make it." That said he steps back and motions towards the chairs around the drinking cart in what in some eras might even go so far as to be called a conversation nook. It's rather homey there, warm, and once they get settled he smiles.
"First, is there aught else I can get any of you?" Thor asks as he looks between the three.

Power Girl has posed:
Moving to the spread, Power Girl picked up a drink, which was Asgardian Ale. That she had fond memories of. Then she moved to one of the seats, setting down her glass.

Her eyes lifted as Tony Stark arrived, going a little wide. "An honor to meet you, Mr. Stark." Then she had settled into her seat as Liese joined them. A quick, "Nice to meet you."

She settled in, little half cape falling over her left arm a bit as she settled in comfortably. At the question, she grinned a little. "If it wouldn't be too much, you wouldn't happen to have some of that venison from last time?" Not a vegan. Not even a vegetarian.

Iron Man has posed:
"Always, Thor." Comes Tony's reply as he settles and then nods to Power Girl. "Nice to meet you too. Say..." He glances back to Thor then, "Is this for anything specifically, like the last time we got together. Cause if not, and aside from this, I'd love to see if I can maybe borrow some of the readings your people got and do a little comparing side by side." For curiosities sake and all that.

Then he glances to Liese and inclines his head. "Ah, yes. You were the one on the ship. Helped us sort of even out that issue that wasn't. Right?" His memory can be a little, meh, at times. Sometimes. Even then he just shrugs and takes another drink of the whiskey he nabbed. "Nothing else for me, no. I ate before I came. Unless this is going to take a while, then we might talk, but for now. I'm fine." He grins, crossing one leg over the other. Smug, in a sense. Cocky to boot.

Thor has posed:
A small laugh comes from Thor as Liese perks up a little, "Oh yes, the venison can be quite good." She says with her own lilt of an accent. Though it has Thor lifting a hand as he nods agreement. "As you would."
It only takes a brief moment of a raised voice, a call for the guard, and then the request is relayed. With that off and on its way, it allows the Thunderer to look back to the others. "As to that Tony. You actually realize the gist of this meeting swiftly. I am only here to facilitate and perhaps bring you three together. You each are strong in your suit, and I hope will be able to help each other.
He gestures to the side, "Asgard must make its place in the lands of men. As a people if we are to call this our home then we should do as we can to protect it. We are not a numerous people, though we are hardy. But we also have gifts and a bond with our home that makes us strong. Liese is one of our best artisans. She is also the youngest. It is she who brought the idea to me of sharing our insight into the world and its workings with others of like mind."
Which is when he turns to her as the blond Asgardian with the strong features smiles and sits up in her seat. "I thought it would be good to meet those who work in the ways of the cosmos and craft it as they can. For us to share our knowledge and perhaps familiarize you both with how our magic and technology functions. But also from you we may gain insight into how best to use it in our new setting."

Power Girl has posed:
She probably should feel bad at making all the work but it just had been so yummy last time. The duck too but she still dreamed of the venison for some reason. Maybe they had special Asgardian spices. Maybe some magic fire they cooked it over. Whatever it was, it was the best she'd tasted in her lifetime. Well, as short as it might be.

She sipped her drink as Thor explained the reason for the meeting. And by the time he was done, her smile was enormous. "I would love to get my hands on your stuff!" Wait, that came out really wrong. She quickly continued to cover that up. "Tech and magic? And getting to be one of the first to see. I mean, I'm not nearly as smart as people like Mr. Stark. I'm more in the science than tech field. But I am truly honored you invited me in on this talk."

Iron Man has posed:
"I'd like to work together and certainly see how we can benefit from each other. Given what we now face on a sort of..." Tony waves a free hand around. "Universally." Then he shrugs and takes another sip. "Like the power that ship was getting, coming from New Asgard, powering the ship and keeping the power levels at the minimal requirement to do their work, but also gaining a back surge that evened out on it's own. Any other power backup on our Earthly devices and you'd be seeing things go shit can six ways from Sunday." He offers this and then tilts his head one way before it goes the other.

"I can run any specs, simulations, and or merges if we want to see what all we can accomplish together. Give credit where it's all due and such. It will be fun." For Tony it'll be like any other day at the office. Any other day where he gets new toys. He likes new toys. They're *fun*.

Thor has posed:
As for Thor while the others speak he busies himself with pouring himself a drink and making sure everyone else is duly situated. Once that's done he settles into his chair and takes a sip from his flagon, then crosses a boot over his knee... and listens.
Liese, however, seems to enjoy speaking. "Well I was thinking first we start with a primer, insight into our ways, how our magic exists and what we understand of it at its core." She looks between Karen and Tony, gaze drifting back and forth as she smiles.
"The main facet for us, is that our magic comes from Asgard. As you so insightfully noticed, Lord Stark. The ship drew its power in part from Asgard itself. For a time before the Fall it was felt it was due to the kingdom. Many of us thought it was because Asgard itself was magical and powerful. But with its destruction... while our power was diminished, it remained. There has been some thought it is perhaps more connected to us as a people. So you will understand when I tell you it is... very difficult for one who is not of Asgard to replicate our magical abilities."
A pause as she looks between them, but then she smiles. "Yet, there are techniques, and knowledge we have that while not drawing upon this magic might well aid in the weaving of your crafts. To help perhaps strengthen your efforts or be used in some way that I have not the ken to understand yet. Thus why I suggested we speak to Midgard's minds."
She straightens up, "I was thinking... perhaps you would care to spend some time in the forges? To see how we made our weapons and tools, imbued them. How the power is drawn and channeled?"

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl sips her ale, knowing to take that stuff super slow even with Kryptonian physiology. She nods here and there as everyone is speaking, a way to acknowledge she is hanging on every word but not interrupting as they are speaking.

"Again, my knowledge is more the science side than the actual tech. But in my mind, magic is just a type of science we haven't figured out yet." And being what she is and vulnerable to magic, it would be good to try to learn more about it. Even if it is more tech based in this particular circumstance.

"I'm good at writing text and papers. Used it often in the lab. So I could help in that aspect. It would be amazing to see your artisans," as that is what they seemed to call them, "At work in the forges. Maybe could even get my hands dirty, if that wouldn't be too presumptious?"

Iron Man has posed:
Tony Stark seems to consider all of this for a moment and then he nods his head. "I think that would certainly be a start in us understanding how things work. And I think I could surely learn a bit." This offered and then he glances over to Power Girl and gives her a tilt of his head. "It all sort of works together. Science." He motions to her. "Tech," himself. "Magic." To the Asgardian. "So in the end, we're likely the three best minds to put together and work something out that will make melding this, that, and the other make some sort of sense."

Thor has posed:
Liese smiles and gives a nod, "We have arranged quarters for the next month if you so wish." The Asgardian woman looks between them. "You are to be given full access to the Artisan's square and the equipment there. Also you are free to come and go as you wish, for we know your times are often not your own."
That said Liese looks back to Thor as if for him to add something, though the Thunderer gives a nod as he adds, "Indeed, it is with my blessing. And I would even go so far as each of you can bring a comrade to aid in your research, another you feel whose insight might be valuable or who would be of aid for you."
That said he leans forward and tilts the bottle of mead, making sure others are topped off as they wish. "So I wish you success, and hope during your stay or visits you will do me the honor of dining with me."
Of course that is the moment when the door opens and in comes a small procession of servants who carry the requested venison as well as some roast vegetables and melted cheese. Upon seeing them Thor appends to his words, "Again." For now they likely are going to indulge.
"Now we shall drink, enjoy, and then on the morrow..." Thor looks to Liese and she smiles.
    "On the morrow we work."
