Cast of Characters: Professor X, Sister Reinhardt

Professor X has posed:
    KRA-KOOOOM!
A thunderous bolt of lightning splits open the heavy sky, stalling the sound of heavy rain for a brief moment. Fortunately the hour is very late, meaning that the vast majority of students and staff alike are tucked away in their comfortable beds and rooms. The sole exception appears to be none other than the Headmaster himself, who is wheeling about through the main foyer. Having journeyed to the kitchen for a midnight snack, the Professor is now heading back to his office. Clearly there's a bit on his mind, the older man cruising through with a creased expression on his face.
Dressed in his smart turtleneck and slacks, it seems that this man isn't up from a period of sleep, but rather has yet to actually go to sleep initially!
Blue eyes take a small glance around the motionless foyer, minimal light provided since most of them are switched off for the evening. He can still see shapes though, at the very least. So he won't crash into anything.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
And being that late at night, he might notice a blue light through the front windows of the mansion, but after a pause overhead, the light lands OUTSIDE of the gates to the school, and only a few seconds later, does a buzzer sound at the doorway. "Excuse me....if anyone's awake, I need to talk to them about a possible student." The voice is definitely female.

However, if the Professor decides to try and search their minds, he'll find one is blocked with a LOT of static to alpha waves, and the other only has blue colored field and a strange symbol in the middle of that field.

Professor X has posed:
Probing forth telepathically to at least get a feel is almost an automatic reaction from Charles these days, so a brow raises in curiosity when he finds that... well, he cannot. The blue light is a strange sight of that there is little doubt, but it pales in comparison to some of the OTHER stuff he has seen lately.
As the voice buzzes through the intercom, Charles finds himself wheeling over to the intercom and pressing the 'access' trigger. If this were to be an attack, he can ready the troops if need be! "Come in." He speaks back through the speaker.
The doors will unlock for the Blue Lantern for a period of time, allowing her passage through. Meanwhile, Charles sits idly in his chair, hands rested in his lap. He is wary - of that there is little doubt. Tense, even. But unfortunately, this sort of situation wasn't too unusual. He knew the protocols and what to do if something went afoul.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
Having made an umbrella for the kid with her, the Blue Lantern walks her way up to the front door, obviously gently encouraging him into the door. It's there Charles will find his first problems....the source of 'static' is centered on this kid. The Blue lantern closes the front door and tilts her head. "Professor Xavier? I presume?"

Professor X has posed:
The sight of the Blue Lantern is what draws Charles' gaze first. He was aware of Green Lanterns to be sure, but... that was it. A concerned look goes from her to the child, his fingers lacing together in his lap. "That's correct. I'm Charles Xavier." He answers politely, though still seeming wary. "You will have to forgive me, as I'm unaware of your affiliation. You have the patterns of a Green Lantern, but ... you are clearly blue." He heaves a solid breath, before looking to the youngster. "And who might you be, young man?" His voice is friendly at this point. Warm. Welcoming, even.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
The Blue lantern smiles a bit. "We can talk about me later, Professor. This meeting is about Chris Montague here." She gestures to the youth and....it's clear she's keeping her distance from him. "I have heard rumors that this is a school for the 'gifted', as in gifted youngsters that possess extra-ordinary powers brought about by evolution, a term that has been coined as a 'Mutant'. Well...I ran across this youth.....during an attempted robbery of a very....upscale party which I happened to be at."

"There were five people with him and....it was obvious Chris here didn't want to be part of it, but the leader was using him as a 'trump card'.....since he, apparently, is able to render all powers, evolutionary, metahuman, and even Power Rings sporadic at best, useless at worst. There is a loophole though. Mystical powers, which the leader didn't happen to know. And that's why Chris is here, and not in jail."

Professor X has posed:
"Lovely to meet you, Chris." The Professor greets politely, offering forward a hand to shake with introductions. After wheeling himself a bit closer. "You're quite right." He replies to the Blue Lantern, shifting attention to her for a moment. "This is a school for the gifted. Mutants, as some people say. A safe haven for us to learn and get educated, while also practicing and learning to control our abilities."
His head tilts in some curiosity at the power which Suzanne explains, looking to the boy with some wonder. "That is truly an impressive gift, Chris." And he means that. He sounds mightily impressed! And fascinated. "And... I'm sorry you were put through a situation like that. Human mutant relations are on the improve, but there are clearly many bridges that we still need to cross." He pauses in some thought, fingers steepling together.
"...sorry. Where are my manners?" He asks himself. "Did you two want some tea, perhaps? A meal? The kitchen closed a few hours ago, but I'm sure I can rustle up something if you're hungry. Or desire a hot drink. It's nasty weather outside."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I certainly thought so, but the leader of that gang seemed to know Chris, and knew how to bully him around too." The Blue Lantern says softly, but Chris seemed to be hungry. "I imagine I could help you if you wished, Professor, but we did swing by Dennys on the way here." But Chris says he's still hungry. "And there we go." The Blue Lantern then chuckles. "Definitely has a good appetite." Chris seems to make his own way for the kitchen, and the BLue Lantern hangs back a bit. "You think you can let him stay here with his power, Professor?"

Professor X has posed:
"Absolutely." Charles replies to Suzanne, wheeling behind Chris as he makes his way to the kitchen. While it's technically 'shut', there are plenty of leftovers in the pantry and fridge for him to feast upon! "Chris is more than welcome to stay with us. Of course, I will have to talk to him a bit more about onboarding and what sort of tuition he wants to receive, but only after he's settled in and ready to have those conversations. Do you know if he has a family at all?" Watching as the youngster busies himself, he hangs back.
"And please - call me Charles. Only the students call me Professor, which you clearly aren't." He chuckles idly. "You still have yet to answer me question on who you represent. You mentioned power rings before, but again, you are not green. Are you part of a new branch or subset of the Green Lantern Corps?"

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
Chris seems to help himself since he's been offered a place there. "He's mentioned a mother, once, but it seemed he wanted away from her. He didn't mentioned a father either." the Blue Lantern says.

"I know I didn't say anything earlier, because Chris was the more pressing matter in my mind. As for who I represent, that's.......a little difficult to explain. You said you know about Green lanterns, well....Blue Lanterns are 'like' Green lanterns. As much as one telepath is 'Like' another Telepath."

Professor X has posed:
The Professor looks at Suzanne quizzically at the statement. As if he's trying to dissect exactly it is what the female meant. "So not alike much at all then." He concludes with a wry smile. "Regardless, you have my thanks, Blue Lantern. You are more than welcome to stop by and check up on Chris whenever you like."
Turning about in his chair, he looks to Chris with a studious expression. The man just sort of watches as he dives into the food. "Legally I will have to try and contact Chris' mother at some point. If there are issues surrounding that relationship it could become tricky, but he should be able to stay here without problem. I suspect Chris will actually be quite a popular person here given the nature of his abilities." Charles hypothesises.
"You're more than welcome to stay the night yourself, Blue Lantern. If you so wish. I cannot imagine flying in this weather is much fun. Then again, from what I understand of those power rings, you may not even feel the rain on your skin."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I just hope Chris isn't popular for the wrong reasons." The Blue Lantern says just as the glow around her ring begins to shine a little brighter. And this causes her to smile. "His hearing is better than we think. He seems to want to stay here. I have mostly kept him away from home, just in case that group that tried to rob the party decided to drag him down with them, and they seemed vindictive enough to do it."

She then looks to Charles. "Charles then, and.....when I earned the ring, I was told that I may need to protect my identity, so I've been calling myself the Blue Lantern, since I'm the only one on earth. There are some similarities between power rings, such as the ring itself, and the focus on where it recharges, but the similarities end there."

Professor X has posed:
"Fair enough." Charles replies, seeming completely understanding of the whole 'secret identity' thing. "And no. I imagine Chris will be welcomed for who he is. Rather than what he can do." Leaning back in his chair, the Professor makes himself comfortable.
"To be honest, my experience with those who possess power rings has been extremely limited. And by that I mean once I saw a Green Lantern being interviewed on a local news network. On my television." Charles smiles lowly at that. "...but I am led to believe those who wield them are capable of great things. You patrol entire sections of the galaxy, correct? Not just the planet earth. That must be difficult for you." Thinking on that, he continues. "Being away from friends and family, I mean. The galaxy is a big place. Very big, in fact."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"That would be the Green Lantern of sector 2146, I do believe, I've met him. Earth is part of that sector. I'm....new, to the Lantern business and I just do what I've done before, just in a bit larger scale. I haven't really tried to leave earth yet, as I'm still adjusting to being a Blue Lantern, So I don't know a 'lot' about being a Blue Lantern....yet."

That is when a strange voice comes from the ring itself.

'Perhaps I can be of assistance.' And Suzanne damned near jumps out of her skin at the new voice, but calms down after a few seconds. "warn me next time you do that, Cortana!"

Professor X has posed:
Charles raises a brow once more as the ring of all things offers its assistance. "Interesting." He observes. "Some sort of Artificial Intelligence that resides within your ring?" Clearly he was dealing with something that involves tech far beyond every-day usage.
"Speaking of assistance however, I must fill out the paperwork and forms for young Chris." A glance goes back to the student who negates powers. Who is likely still feasting on cold pizza and garlic bread. Leftovers from dinner! "Blue Lantern, as I mentioned, you are more than welcome to stay and watch over him for tonight. Or drop back in whenever you wish to check on him." A small nod is given to the female.
With this he starts to wheel away, heading for what looks to be his office on the far side of the foyer. "Perhaps I will see you in the morning." He calls out, disappearing within.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I shall, Charles, but after that, I must leave....as long as he's safe here, I'm happy with that." The Blue Lantern says and the ring seems to go silent. "Thank you, Charles Xavier....for giving Chris....hope." And she seems to emphasize 'hope'. There must be a special meaning to that.
