Midnight Mall Madness
Date of Scene: 14 May 2021
Location: LexMall - LexCorp Tower
Synopsis: A huge mall sale quickly turns deadly as a dubious figure turns a couple of scared mutant kids against shoppers.
Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Rage, Flash, Barghest, Superboy, Mon-El, Lex Luthor, Captain Boomerang

Supergirl has posed:
Okay, so it's not exactly midnight in the mall yet, but the massive sales and discounts at Lexcorp mall were set to go until the strike of midnight. Kara had hoped to get a head start on her shopping, determined to find a super cute outfit that Willow could wear as a kind of superheroic costume/uniform, among other things.

She had arrived early in the morning hoping to avoid the crowds and had brought some friends with her too, hoping to make this another team bonding exercise. Shops everywhere are having major side walk sales and markdown signs are everywhere as people mill about to upbeat mall music.

Rage has posed:
Today is the grand opening of 'Mutie Cutie' at the Lex Corp Mall. It's a small popup store with mutant branded clothing designed by a local and talented mutant artist and sold through Andrea Jackson's record label. Most of the clothing is geared towards 15 to 25 year olds, mostly female but they have some young men clothing as well.

The racks have multiple styles of colorful shirts and torn jeans all with the logos of 'Mutie Cutie' on it. Mutants get a ten percent discount as well. It's an honor system. Being that she is the face of the brand, the popstarlet is here for the opening to do autographs, selfies and a bit of marketing.

Having dragged her twin brother out with her to help out with the promise of free food, she currently has him out on the floor with her to manage any of the lines. She is dressed in her full clothing line, that of snug low cut jeans with tears in the front, as well as a sleeveless crop top with the words: MC across the front in silvery font.

Flash has posed:
Waiting by the entrance stands Barry though not in his flash outfit he waits for Kara to enter with a wave towards her. Normally he wouldn't of come, but here at Lex-Mart he wasn't going to take any chances. When he spots her he pushes through the crowd with a wave hoping he gets her attention. He wears a simple casual outfit though it still looks buisness casual as the outfit is all designer though only his golden ring spots out as something a bit different.

After a bit of pushing, he finally gets close enough to speak, "Over here.. Kara." he looks at her with a smile, "I saw your memo about this place.. You know your cousin would hate to see ya here." he looks around at the large store they are going to be walking through, "This is Lex's place.. You know how he feels about him." Though there was no actual proof the distrust between the two is known. Lex was suspected of so much more, not just criminal wise, but how he did buisness. It made Barry nervious as he just couldn't put it out of his mind being here, but he didn't actually accuse the man of anything yet... Not sure what he would accuse him of to be honest though he trusted his friends oppion very easly as big buisness like Lex's made him a bit worried to begin with.

Barghest has posed:
Clothing? Necessary in polite society. Nevada isn't excited about it but sees the logic and recognizes people like to look fancy. Food though? Food always motivates him.

Nevada was strongly suggested to wear some black ripped and repaired jeans, along with a deep purple top washed with a red to orange sunset and the gold MC logo underneath. Simple and boardwalk ready. If only he was there. He knows what to do with a funnel cake, not with questions about sizing. So he largely keeps close to his sister and tries to find that pitiable sweet spot between being friendly and approachable but naively unhelpful.

"...I have no idea what I'm doing." He whispers aside towards his sibling. "How long are we here for?"

Superboy has posed:
Conner is trying to be supportive with Kara's plan, he really is. Only that malls are not as interesting now as they were when he was sixteen. (Or rather, when he looked like being sixteen).

It might be Tim and Cassie think the same, as they have not showed up. Maybe they will drop by for lunch? He is texting, but getting no responses. "Where do you want to start, cousin-like person Kara," he asks, only half serious.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar is along with Kara, Conner, and Barry at the mall today. He is feeling a bit uncomfortable, partly for the same reasons as Barry, and also partly because of his somewhat complicated relationship with Kara.

Still, they had both agreed on remaining friends, so friends it was and going on shopping trips is a thing to do. It hasn't been so bad, at least thus far. He doesn't bring up the topic of Lex. "In the market for a new wardrobe huh?" he remarks casually, nodding as Barry approaches.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Lex doesn't usually need a reason to make an appearance in LexMall. He's a well known philantropist and does plenty of charity; charity like today.

With a booth off to the side, Lex is heading up a lottery contest. The more sales bought on the floor today, the more chances one has for the charity. The winner gets a free LexPhone 2.0 with a free year plan on the LexCorp Information Network.

When one approaches the booth, they can clearly hear him thanking those who turn in their tickets, "Thank you kind Sir. I'm sure veterans all over will be happy with your purchases."

The charity of this grand day... is Wounded Troops Services.

Off to both sides of the booth are Mercy and Hope, Lex's (in?)famous bodyguard in full body armor and concealed weapons; they're not taking any chances with their boss out in the open like this.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen Mercer had two strong hands, not super strong hands, but athletic human strong hands, plenty of pockets, and a backpack, just in case. He also had plenty of boomerangs on him, as these sales could get ugly. But mostly he was all about having space to carry any purchases. Not that he was too keen on buying anything. He was here for another.

With the sale note quite triggering yet, he stayed, ready, willing, and able. "Do we have a plan of attack yet," he asked, wondering what he had to get before the ensuing mob got their greedy little hands on whatever it was that was being sold for a ridiculously small amount.

He wore his beige cargo pants, since more pockets, his uniform jacket, which could easily pass for casual attire, except the external boomerang pockets were empty. He was only keeping a few in reserve on the internal pockets. And he had a black backpack with pink accents that he had borrowed, which was completely empty, save for a few ration packs, and bottles of water, just in case. He even wore a rugby headband to keep the sweat out of his eyes, "I'm ready," he said as Barry approached them, "are you ready?"

Supergirl has posed:
Oh Woow, there's so much to see and do! And she may be an adult but Kara would never miss the opportunity to enjoy a good shopping trip, besides she was determined to buy a cute outfit for Willow that said, 'Superhero Witch' without being too obvious or too cheesy fir that matter.

So here she is, happy to be joining her friends as she peruses the shops. In her civilian persona she is wearing sunglasses, blonde hair pulled up in a high ponytail, and a simple pair of jeans and a sky blue shirt. aAlthough she was never quite as good at secret identities as Barry.

"Hey!" she smiles and waves to Barry, stepping up to join him, peering around as others join them too and smiles to Conner, Lar and Owen too. "I'm so glad you guys could make it! Lar, it's been forever! And Conner, I was thinking of maybe some goth clothing store, though I hear there's a new Mutie Cutie pop up store I'd like to try." as for Lex, she shrugs, "I think we should give him a chance at least? He's done some good things? This mall for one.." Maybe she's a bit naive, trying to believe everyone can be good but on,y time will tell. she's already approaching his lotto booth while keeping an eye out for this new Mutie Cutie store. "Ooh can I buy a ticket? Sounds like a great cause!"

A little further down, two kids, around eleven and eight years of age are wandering about the mall too, hovering around the Mutie Cutie store. They don't seem to be accompanied by parents and glance around nervously. The younger one, a girl with wavy brown hair peers up at her blonde sister. "Elsa, do you think we'll find her here?" she smiles and nods, "I'm sure we will,I heard the voices, Anna." she replies.

Rage has posed:
"Just a few hours and then we can hit up the hotel and tomorrow we'll be home." Andrea says to her brother with a smile as she leans in to bump her shoulder against his. "It's easy. Everything is pre-shrunk, scan the tag, take money, swipe the card, bag it. How is it you never had a real job before?" She says with a teasing grin. So says the mutant celebrity ex-Disney star.

"That or just stand next to me and hold the camera when someone wants a picture. You look great by the way. Thanks for modeling for me." She says with a giggle, then leans in to hold her own phone upwards, striking a pose with duck lips before snapping a photo of them.

"I can let James know to put in an order if you're hungry again. They got a really good food court here. Who doesn't like midnight Chik-Fila?"

Flash has posed:
Bary just smiles at Kara, "You know I can't argue you when you speak like that." he shakes his head with a sigh, "I hope your right.. Not about the Cutie Pop store, as we all know that is a win." and grins, having no idea what a Mutie Cutie shop even was. He just follows carefully staying behind the group a little bit though he eyes Lex from the back with one of those judgement looks. He doesn't say anything to the man, and smiles to the two bodyguards with a nod, whatever he though of Lex that must of been one stressfull job.

he does look at Owen, "I am ready as one can be, it has been a while since I have been to a Mall though." walking forward in the ticket line to get to his turn. "It isn't as bad as I thought it would be. At least Lex has some taste in decour." he adds turning around to realize it is his turn.

With the interaction to get a ticket as well he sighs, "Tell me you didn't hear that?" he says to the Lex taking the tickets. Then smiles, "I read an article about you in the Daily Planet. It looks like design is not your only skill Mr. Luther though I did not think greeting was in that list."

He would wait for a respose before looking at Kara, then smiling again a bit warmer this time the judgement gone when he turns to look at Luther again with a nod, "It was quite well written, but it spoke well of you.. Perhaps they were right." and turns following the rest of the way away from Lex for now.

He speaks up to all with him, "Alright.. So do they still have arcades in these things?" he asks with a grin, totaly oblivious to all the deals, and shoppers only joking as he also assumed he was on bag carrying duty today!

Barghest has posed:
"You know why." Is Nevada's under-the-breath huffed retort. He can't say it too sourly, because her compliment mollifies him and it is hard to be grouchy in comfortable clothing. Soft brushed cotton-modal blends soothes even the most savage beast. He does not do duck lips, however.

With the general hub-bub and controlled late night chaos, he doesn't really pay too much mind to the crowd as a whole. He does, however, take note of clear minors, though at the moment it's nothing more than a casual, "Huh, guess parenting is lax these days. I was never allowed up this late on school nights. Not that dad exactly went mall sale chasing. When he says Black Friday is one of the "busiest day of the year", well... yeah, you tended Not to go for that exact reason."

Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah, it's...been a while." Lar replies to Kara's excited greetings. He then turns to Owen, who looks ready for some kind of fight. But Lar thought they weren't supposed to be expecting a fight? "Uh...plan of attack? I thought this was just a shopping trip?"

Superboy has posed:
"Is she a Goth?" Conner is somewhat curious about the new team mates. Although if Willow was in the Justice League (as he seems to remember) maybe this is seen as some kind of demotion for her. That would suck.

Wait, what did Kara said? "Mutie Cutie? What is that?" Conner look around with a frown. Probably thinking in some kind of mutant exploitation corporate trick. Dating a mutant makes a little more aware of the problems mutants face the typical American youth. "Lets see..." he types a search on his starkphone. "Uh, a clothes shop for supers, now I have seen all."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Of course!" Comes the reply to Kara, "The more money you spend, the greater the number of tickets... and the number doubles every fifty dollars." Lex explains to Kara as he smiles. It's a warm smile as he opens the ticket box and shows a couple to her. "How many would you like?"

Then Barry is talking to him, with a blank, flat look; he's clearly playing up the 'ignorant' bit, "Heard what?" He grins slightly, before he raises a brow to Barry, "I have many articles written about me, Sir... but I assume you mean the recent one about the potential launch of LexHub this year?"

For anyone paying attention to the news, LexHub is LexCorps first private space station, set to start building up in space within the year. Yes, LexCorp will be up there with the Watchtower... and it's UN regulated. Which means there's nothing to be done about it.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Not actually having met Connor and Lar previously, Owen paid careful attention when Kara addressed them, picking up the names, and when she didn't introduce him to her friends, he took the initiative, "Pleased to meet you Connor, my name's Owen," and he offered a firm, but again, regular human strength handshake, "and you too, Lar," there was a very brief, barely perceptible pause before he said 'Lar', not having heard that name before, but he didn't want to come across as impolite. When his plan of attack comment was broached, he would laugh it off, "Oh, just my first American Mega Sale. I've seen the videos on YouTube. Nasty business that. Black eyes, dislocated shoulders, fractured clavicles. You folks shop rough."

He would repeat the step with everyone around, save for Kara, as she was the only one he knew that he had met previously. He had met the Flash, but didn't pick up on the voice, as Americans all sounded the same to him.

Much like Barry, Owen was in the dark as to what purpose a Mutie Cutie shop would have. It sounded to him like a bad Netflix film. It was bizarre having a billionaire like Lex Luthor among them. Owen wasn't used to running with such crowds. He was a movie theater employee after all.

He would purchase a ticket as well, taking away valuable money for the sale, but it was for a good cause, so there was that at least.

Having spotted the nervous minors, and hearing Nevada also raise concerns, Owen politely asked one of Lex's security guards, "can you come with me a moment," and whether or not the guard came with him, Owen would make his way over, and crouch a little bit to say in a soft and non-confrontational voice, "my name is Owen Mercer. Are you two looking for your parents?" It was always difficult dealing with children, so he introduced himself, and went straight to the point, hoping to build a rapport with them. They were all in public, so hopefully they didn't scream stranger danger, and the uniformed security guard, if he came, could help.

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers chuckles at Owen, "No plan of attack, just a regular mall. Oh I'm terrible. This is Barry, Conner and Lar. Everyone, this is Owen. Let's have some fun today!" she arches a brow at Barry but decides not to cause any problems. Though she may do some research on Lex later. "Hmm okay, seems like a good cause. How about five tickets?"

As for Mutie Cutie she is still eager to find it. Once she buys her tickets, she smiles and waves to Lex, "Thanks!" and follows after Owen. "Hmm, what's up?" the kids continue to wander around the store, talking quietly to each other. "Dont worry, we'll find her. She promised she'd never leave us." And just before Owen and the security guard reaches them, she attempts to slip one of the store products in her pocket. Just a tiny thing. By the time Owen gets there she frowns and shakes her head. "Umm no we're fine..Come on, Anna!" she grabs her little sister's hand and they both run hastily out of the store..Someone else at the back of the store watches with a slight smile, his features hidden under a black hoodie, and quietly slips out after them.

Rage has posed:
"When I was their age, I was staring in my first TV show. I don't know what normal kids do, Nev." Andrea says as she gives a smile to another customer that passes in, followed by a wave. She doesn't mind the brief bouts of attention that she receives from fans and customers alike. At this point in her career it's just like breathing. Smile. Wave. Smile. Wave. It's practically a reflex.

As the two girls get approached by Owen and his entourage, she narrows her eyes some to watch the interaction. They look nervous as they peel away. "Isn't that the boomerang guy and .. Kara?" She trails off some as she looks out from within the store to the mall, then lifts her hand upwards. Smile. Wave.

There is a twitch of her nose though, a 'sniff' as her eyes track the man with the dark hoodie who seems to be moving after the kids. "Nevada, give that guy some great customer service real fast." AKA: Interrogate a shoplifter, or a kidnapper. Either way, she relies on twin-sense to get her message across as she practically chuffs at him.

Flash has posed:
Barry looks at Lex choosing not to be used as an ad any further he just nods, and gives a "Yea.. that must of been it exactly." before turning to look back at Kara to realize Owen is missing. He had heard him speaking just a moment ago, and then sees him heading towards the group. "Oh no.." is all he says, though he does take a step closer to Lar. "Relax budy, nothing is going to happen. Look at the security guards, and cameras who would be crazy enough to do something here right?" though Lar might note he did just point to several cameras and guards to point out if something were to come up the things they would have to avoid to 'change' if you will.

He looks around a bit, "My friend has been spending too much time in Gotham." and gives him a light pat with a smile. Though continues to speak with Kara, "Ya know for as a spokesman for the reasonable people out there.. Maybe I can suggest something not cut off.." and grins with a laugh. Though he does keep his eyes on Owen as this could be a complicated situation, and though he prob didn't need help, a witness sure could help just incase. Though he hoped it didn't escilate like that, 'yea just a normal shoplifter in a normal mall with a group of heros, sure' he thought as he looked around to who was with him noting the names from Kara, as hewatched quietly to see what happened from here.

Barghest has posed:
"Sure." Says Nevada with a bit more glee than may normally be in such a statement. The chance to bail on mobile registers and chase some creeper shadowing kids? Sign him up.

Even if his gait isn't as even as one would expect to see, he does a fair job at closing that distance, at least to catch up with Owen.

"Hey man. What's up?" He says sidelong to the face he'd met the other day, in a tone that's suggest something cool and casual to those listening though his eyes are pointedly looking towards the figure in black. Neither is Nevada actually stopping as he keeps on walking. "Guy looks like he needs some... help."

Mon-El has posed:
"Oh--um...right." Lar replies, sounding abashed when Owen reveals that he was mostly just joking and/or exaggerating about Terran intercultural dynamics. He didn't fully get it, but he doesn't bother asking him to explain further. Of course, he always had to make himself sound like a fool whenever Kara was around. Still, unlike her, he didn't grow up on Earth, so there were some things that didn't exactly come naturally to him as it did the lcoals around here.

He then finds himself tagging along with Kara and the rest of his group as they make their way over to the new Mutie Cutie shop, just watching in the background as Barry talks to Lex, and then as Owen approaches the two girls in the store. He noticed the unusual behavior of the hooded figure and the girl slipping the merchandise into a pocket and leaving without paying. However, since the odd stranger hasn't done anything yet, he doesn't do anything about it at the moment. Instead, as the two girls are leaving the store, he approaches them. "You two all right?" he asks, more to the point than Ownen. "If you're looking for your parents, I can help." As he is speaking to them, he is scanning their pockets to see where the stolen item ended up.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Another guard pairs off to go with the man that went with Owen; their job is to monitor and handle security after all... and that includes potential children lost from their parents. The first guard misses it... but the second catches it as he's coming up, and there's a muffled sound from the visor. A moment later, and the guard looks to the child. "I can take you to your parents, but first, I'll need you to turn out your pockets. Shoplifters are a problem today, as you know." The civilians lending a helping hand are nice... but Team Luthor are the authority today. Then again, with their reputation, the girl is in good hands.

Lex, meanwhile, takes the money for the tickets from Kara and gives a big warm smile, "Done!" And another for Owen, "Done!" The tickets are handed out, and as yet more people come along, Lex shifts to deal with the new charity donators.

Barry, on the other hand, gets a nod from Lex, "As I said, lots of articles. If you're talking about a specific one, I'm all ears."

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen was doing his best. He saw children, alone, and looking nervous. He tried to help. They were soon running out the store, while another man at the back of the store watched and smiled. Owen didn't see the man in the black hoodie, as he was watching the kids, confused. Turning to Kara, Nevada, and the security guard in particular, "thanks anyway. I figured the uniform might help. Kids can never be too careful these days." Though soon Nevada was heading after the departing man in black. A shame it wasn't the real man in black, Johnny Cash. He'd have the right music for a chase scene.

Of course, Lar and the second security guard decided to play the heavy. The kids had stolen something, so they were in the right, but Owen hadn't caught the theft, and it was still hard to see minors treated that way. Owen would hand his own ticket to Kara, "better to keep them all together."

Supergirl has posed:
Hoodie guy pauses, peering at Nevada behind that dark cowl. "Oh, I am quite fine, sir..However, Both those kids are quite..Dangerous. Better be careful around them." and with that ominous warning he brushes right past him, watching the kids but staying out of the way as the security guards approach the kids.

As for the two kids, well they didn't seem terribly eager for help from the security guard or Lar as he approaches them. In fact their demeanour quickly changes from anxious to downright paranoid. "Stay back!" warns the blonde girl, eyes narrowed as she points a hand towards the security guard and attempts to blast him several feet back with what appears to be a powerful telekinetic blast. Anna meanwhile watches nervously, grabbing her sister's hand. "Are they the ones mother warned you about?" with a nod, Anna tugs her along, and just in case Lar decides to follow her, or any of his friends, she uses her TK to rip out a nearby bench, tossing it towards Lar with considerable force. "Stay away from us!"

Kara meanwhile, grabs the ticket from Owen, nodding as she follows closely behind the others, trying to figure out what's going on.

Rage has posed:
Tilting her head over a one of the young girls yelling, Andrea stops the conversation with the customer she had in front of her. "One moment." She says as she steps away to head to the store front to look out at the group, followed by a squint of her eyes.

Flash has posed:
About to move to 'steal back' the item at speeds that would not be seen by the normal eye he decides against it when she blasts the guard back. It was too dangeous to move on someone like that instead maybe descression was the better side here. He thought about this as the two were slowly moving, he did looks surprises as he saw the bench slowly lifting up and heading towards Lar he started sprinting at normal speed jumping to bump into Lar, "Fall" is all he gets out as without his cooperation Barry is going to just smack up against him and fall off.

They weren't to a point where they were shooting for the crowd yet thankfully as they were aiming at the people following them instead. He hoped that if he could push them out of the way they could do what they needed to elsewhere as it would take any focus off the other people in normal clothing. It should be safe for now for most other then well him if Lar just stands there, but things have escilated so he was afraid soon they would have no options but to fight.

Barghest has posed:
Holding his position, Nevada narrows his eyes at the hooded man and watches in the direction that he goes. He sees the kids. Scared kids, the kind that don't seem so much as thieves then kids on the run. He breaks off enough to meet his sister and come to stand next to her again. "Nest is kinda shaken, here." Understatement, as the guards prep for a fight. "How do you want to handle this? Stick here or go after him? He said these kids are dangerous."

Mon-El has posed:
Seriously? Lar just asked her a simple question and offered to help, and she throws a bench at him? Was it the Terrans, or was it just kids? Or was it both? Anyway, not much time to give it much thought. And unfortunately, he doesn't really have time to respond to Barry, either. The bench comes flying, and the Daxamite flies up to meet it, catching it as it if were just a volleyball or something, then setting it back down gently so as not to hurt anyone else or damage any property.

Then he bolts after the children, after briefly scanning the guard that had been blasted back to make sure he is not in critical condition or anything. "Please, let us help you." he says, attempting to overtake them and block their escape.

Lex Luthor has posed:
As the guard gets blasted back, there's a sudden flurry of movement from the Team Luthor security that likely everyone notices. There's a muffled radio signal from the partner that just watched one of his team get thrown... and then a bench gets tossed. The bench? The security guard actually tries to move to one side and deflect it when he sees Lar just... float up. Okay then, problem solved.

The team of the guards are falling back, out of the line of sight of the kid, and pulling their pistols. "Clear the area! Hostile child!" Since the guards were talking inside their helmets before, this is clearly an intentional broadcast. The pistols are clearly tazers however, with the faint electrical hue at their ends. They hunker down around the kids... but don't fire yet. Clearly, a man who can catch a bench without effort probably won't have an issue, and they seem content to wait-and-see, at the ready.

Lex? He's sitting down in the booth, with Mercy and Hope immediately in front of him as he pulls out a tablet and begins to use it, watching the proceeds unfold. Security have the matter well in hand, after all.

The guard that got blasted? He's not critical, but he's gonna feel that in the morning, and there's already a pair of Team Luthor moving to deal with him.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
The blonde girl did warn the security guard before she blasted him several feet back. Owen had to grant her that much. So she was a scared kid, with some kind of power, but she wasn't out to hurt anyone, so long as they didn't come too close to her. And she had a younger sister in tow, which may well have her own powers. It was a difficult situation.

Thankfully, they had Supergirl, and unbeknownst to him, the Flash as well, on hand. They were two of the nicest, most child-friendly heroes around. And both were well equipped to handle the girls' power. Having memorized the layout of the mall, since he had come ludicrously prepared, and anticipating her need, he would lean in close to Kara, explaining that the "nearest ladies loo is right of front door, past four stores, right into the corridor, second door on the left." He was pretty sure she had a spare outfit in her backpack.

Watching the Lar catch the bench was a sight to behold. Some people just didn't believe in secret identities. He didn't either. Well, he did a poor job of hiding it. He really ought to look into getting some kind of mask. The problem was, he was never going to throw a boomerang at children, even in self-defense, and what was he going to do with his short bursts of super speed. He wasn't like the Flash. He didn't know many speed force tricks. For now, he was a passenger, ready to act, to help out, but uncertain of how to proceed.

Catching sight of the security guards drawing their tasers, he would ready himself. Tasers weren't generally calibrated to deal with a child's body mass, and the current could be lethal. If any of them pulled the trigger, he was going to try and grab the kids, no matter what they might do to him as he got them out of there.

Supergirl has posed:
Elsa's eyes widen as Lar catches the bench..And is acutely aware of more security with their tasers ready to shoot. "Anna, get ready..Mom said this might happen.." the younger girl nods, pulling out..A notepad for some reason, and a pen. "Dont worry, we won't let them hurt us like they did mother..Let's go!"

When Lar flies towards them, blocking their escape, Elsa just smiles and..Rises up into the sky, effortlessly floating towards the second floor, carrying Anna with her, depositing her on a second floor balcony. :At the same time she peers around, and with a flick of her wrist she sends, not one but multiple benches, vending machines, tables even in to the air, hurling them with startling force in a wide arc around them. Seems her powers are a bit wild, not only aimed at Lar and the security guards but anyone else who gets too close, including random shoppers who start to scream and flee. One or two are hit or buried under a stray piece of furniture.

Black hoodie guy watches with a slight frown, still out of harm's way but totally focused on the fight at hand, especially Elsa. He doesn't seem to notice as Kara flees into a nearby washroom..Either she really had to go or she's just really scared of getting hit too!

Rage has posed:
"Well, this went to shit really fast." Andrea says to Nevada as she gives a furrow of her brows. She gives a glance to her brother, then heads out of the store as she makes her way quickly through to catch up with the chaos. She spies Lar catching a bench and designates him as the 'strong guy' of the situation. She doesn't recognize him right off the cuff being a New Yorker herself.

"Hey!" She calls out to the two girls who are starting to float upwards to the second story. "Look, everyone can calm down and we can work this out! You know who I am, right? If you're mutants, you're safe with me. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. Period. Can I come up there and talk to you two?"

She gives a glance towards her brother again, then cuts a look towards the black hoodie guy. "Sick him. He started this whole situation."

Flash has posed:
Barry stands up, and dusts himself off "I see.." as he looks up actually surprised to see him flying just out in the open, but of course it should look like Barry is also surpised that he could fly. Getting up he gives a, "Leaving it to you.." as he runs off to go get lost in the crowd of people. It would be easy to change into his Flash outfit somewhere since it was in his ring. A turn here, a blind corner there and where once Barry stood now is the Flash! Though he doesn't return right away back to the front. First he runs around the building making sure the other exits are open for people to go. This could get bad, and just incase it was best to have a way out for the crowd to get through.

His return might not even be noticed as furniture in a pile just starts to disapear right after each other to reappear just a bit off where he dropped it though he doesn't stop just running in a small circle to get them off others so they can not be under it for long. Finally when all of this is done he stops for a moment, looking around at the people. He realizes that Mon-El is blocking them in and looks at Kara, "That isn't good.. Trapping them in.." he shakes his head.

Of course tactically it wasn't a bad choice, but now he was afraid the wounded pup only got worse if it was then trapped. So he begain to worry, but then heard someone say he started it and follows the point, with a frown. Of course someone started this, he would be on his way to go behind the one that was pointed to, not having any proof he starts with a "Can we have a word.." leaving the panicing kid to Kara, and others for now. He does tap his foot behind him with a bit of a stare though as he didn't like people who took advatage of others. If that person was right this person had something to do with it, so he would start with a negative view for the hoody.

Barghest has posed:
There doesn't need to be an acknowledgement from Nevada. He knows what to do.

He ducks into the store to take advantage of one of the changing booths while everyone is otherwise distracted by the scene outside. What comes out but seconds later is a large, shaggy, shepherd-like dog. The black canine races out the front doors of the store and out through the panicking crowds and flying debris.

Despite Barry's intent to inject himself into the Hooded Man's business, Nevada is already engaged. He jogs after the retreating man and approaches from around some of the center's decor, his ears forward with intent and his hackles up. The stare he levels on the man is one of predatory intent before he kicks off from the ground in a charge for the man's legs.

Mon-El has posed:
Welp, this was going -so- well. Now the girl is throwing -multiple- objects. At least Barry is helping with that. Getting people out of the way and catching stuff, that is. He zooms around, lifting objects off of any trapped bystanders and catching as many as he can to set them down gently before going after the girl again.

This time, he's getting a bit more impatient with her. "Listen, I don't want to hurt you." he states, his voice not quite threatening but getting there. "Don't make me." He looks down as Andrea is shouting up at the young girl. "See? Look, no one wants to hurt you. Why don't you listen to her? They can help you learn to control yourself."

Lex Luthor has posed:
Meanwhile, those Team Luthor guards? They spring into action, getting the civilians out. Those who remaining standing that is... which isn't many. The security armor they wear has a LOT better chance of withstanding injuries compared to the civilians around, and this group of Team Luthor in particular are trained to protect civilians.

On the bright side, there will be a lot less critical injuries. On the other hand... those are less hands to try to deal with the children, and the sheer amount of sudden debris has overwhelmed the dozen strong local security...

Lex, meanwhile, is in a heated discussion with his bodyguards. A hushed heated discussion. One that abruptly stops as he stands up and starts to dash off to one of the stores, Hope in the front and Mercy taking up rearguard. Where are they going? After a few moments, they disappear into a back room.

Supergirl has posed:
There's a lot of chaos going on now as people scream and flee in a disorganized manner, many scrambling over each other to get away. Fortunately The Flash is there to help with opening any blocked exits and he along with Mon-El are quite successful in preventing the majority of furniture from dropping on any innocents. Meanwhile the security detail do an excellent job at maintaining order amid the chaos, redirecting fleeing civilians to exits.

Supergirl is also on the scene, having appeared from who knows where, assisting in catching any stray furniture and lowering it to the ground, redirecting more fleeing innocents to the exits.

Elsa continues to hover in the center of the mall, seemingly fuelled by intense fear for some reason, her powers growing only more dangerous by the moment, as she now spins furniture around in a furious whirlwind of debris, knocking any stray civilians to the ground in the ensuing blast of wind and telekinetic force.

And then, she hears the famous Andrea Jackson's voice and her eyes widen, focusing on her for a moment. And for a moment that fear and anger and chaos and paranoia leaves her face, blinking for a second or two in confusion. "Ms..Jackson? They said you're a mutant...You're are an inspiration for us..I...I'm Soo scared...They hurt my mom..They're after me.." for a moment, it seems that her powers are starting to calm down as she focuses on her longtime pop idol..r
How very very strange that her calming down seems to happen right around the same time that the large dog leaps out of nowhere, knocking Black Hoodie guy (who was intently focused on Elsa) to the ground. "What..?" he is rather shocked clearly, his focus on Elsa clearly broken. But he doesn't hesitate at all, vanishing in a flash, reappearing next to Anna who remains crouched on the second floor balcony. He doesn't say anything, but his eyes seem to flicker with some intense light.

Suddenly Anna is the scared, paranoid looking one, climbing to her feet, peering down at her sister. "Elsa!!" The notebook and pen are still in her hands and she anxiously starts to scribble something on her notebook, which glows eerily. A moment later, a correspondingly glowing circle appears on the ground below, in front of Elsa who has slowly lowered herself to the floor, exhausted.

When the light clears, there's a large, fire breathing dragon standing there, and boy does it looked pissed.

Rage has posed:
"Yes, I'm a mutant, just like you I imagine. Come here and I'll call someone. Who hurt your mother?" Andrea says in a calm voice as she holds her hands upwards to the pair of girls. She spies Supergirl out of the corner of her eye, then visibly relaxes. "See, look! That is Supergirl and she is here to help also. You can trust her. She's one of the best heroes in the world."

When her brother tackles the hooded man and things seem to calm, she tracks him upwards to the second story, followed by the next chain of events. "His power is to create fear? Is that he's doing? He's trying to cause a scene."

"He's the guy to take out. Fast guy, can you do it?" She calls over to Barry.

Flash has posed:
Flash blinks as he teleports, as he didn't see him move and would of if it were super speed. He looks over at Andrea, with a nod he lowers himself a bit to get a super kick off as he Flashes towards the Dragon. Everything goes slow for him as he appreaches the thing. As he ran everything moved slower to him the speed just kicking off lightning around him. He had two goals, one he wasn't sure how strong the man in the cloak was so he just gave him a simple couple taps. though at the speed he was going it would be much more then that. He aimed for the shoulder to throw the man back and away, as the force would of been easly enough to throw a full grown human into the air, one was to lift him up, and the other was to throw him against a wall if they were successful.

Though he didn't stop as he was running through he tapped, turned his body in a juke and swooped up trying to pick up the kid, drawing and all. He was going to speed over, and deposit her infront of Andrea. Looking back over the work he did he would look to his side where he was standing next to the lady. "I think I can handle that.. And the name is Flash." he said moving to hand her the child as they seemed to know her better, and maybe she could do something for her.

Barghest has posed:
The hooded man disappears. There's a dragon. Nevada is left standing there staring in the direction of both and giving a noisy, ill-tempered snort. With nothing left to him where he is, the black dog turns to run back towards Andrea and comes up towards her as Flash has finishes depositing the children. Hopefully they're not afraid of dogs, and he'll give a jovial wag of his tail towards both before he spots a sign for emergency exit. With a bark towards Andrea, he takes on a very typical pointer stance to indicate it with pointed looks towards the kids. If they're amenable to it, he'll try and approach the girls directly and try to gentle shepherd them towards the exit and out of the line of fire.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar is visibly relieved when Elsa seems to calm down and start conversing with Andrea in a more civilized fashion. But then Anna starts shouting, and scribbles something on her notebook before a dragon suddenly appears. He doesn't know much about these weird kinds of powers, but he figures that was no coincidence.

Since the dragon hasn't attacked yet, he decides to make sure that doesn't happen again the best he can by destroying that notebook. A thin, well-measured thermal blast ought to do it. The red lasers lance through the air and hit the papers, aiming to incinerate them but cause no further harm.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen has been doing his best to do civilian patrol, rushing people that needed emergency attention to the first aid room of the mall, or any other authorities that he could find beyond the store. Any pretence of keeping his secret identity were gone, as people were in danger, so he was helping out, becoming something of an errand boy.

Supergirl has posed:
Black Hoodie guy is ready this time, as the Flash attempts to grab him and hurl him into a nearby wall. He snarls, vanishing moments before he can smack the wall...Wait, where did he go?

Meanwhile, Anna is grabbed and deposited in front of Andrea. She blinks in confusion, eyes widened and fearful, backing away from her, clutching her notebook. The dragon has already started to advance towards the group of heroes during this time, opening its gaping maw and unleashing a wide cone of flames towards the heroes, its massive tail slamming into more furniture. This mall is pretty trashed right now but at least most of the civilians have been ushered to safety, as Supergirl does her best to fly around, grabbing stray shoppers and flying them to safety, while putting out a random fire here or there with her ice breath.

However, When Mon-El incinerates the book, she gasps, dropping the scraps on the ground, and..Thankfully that seems to do the trick, as the dragon suddenly vanishes. "Leave us alone!" she screams, backing away from Andrea, fumbling with her backpack.

Rage has posed:
Looking to move out of the way of a flaming dragon, Andrea rolls behind a pillar to take cover, feeling the heat lash out around her and scorch her clothing. She curls her fists together, gritting her back teeth in anticipation. She can feel the first 'snap' of bones within her body, but she settles once Anna suddenly appears next to her. She lets out a gasp of pain as she straightens out.

"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay. You and your sister are going to be fine. Deep breath and hold my hand, okay?" Reaching out for her, she gives a wiggle of her fingers. "Look, this is my dog, his name is Nevada. He's a good dog and you can pet him. Don't be afraid, the bad guy is gone, the Flash and Supergirl are chasing him off."

With her free hand, she takes her phone out, holding it out to her. "Look, you can play with my phone if you want, call your parents. The cops are on the way. Let's head over to your sister and make sure she is okay."

Flash has posed:
Flash Zips over to check on the downed child now the other person is gone he checks her pulse, and zips away back with water though it might not even look like he moved as he was going so fast. He also had some food with him, some chips in a bag. "It's alright little one." then he looks back. "Looks like exhaustion, whatever he was doing he pushed her to the limit." he opens the water and pours a little on her patting it with a towl. While not a doctor by any means field first aid was part of his training.

While it was for minor things it was good to have a ready just incase, though if there was more wrong he wouldn't be able to tell as again not a doctor. He looks over at Andrea, "Maybe a quieter area would be best." he carefully lifts the unconcious child looking up at Kara. "It isn't life threatening, but she needs to get to the hospital." he then looks over at Andrea, "Would be nice if they were to stick together.. Flash Foundation would be happy to cover the bill." he looks around a bit with a smile, "For the children of course." to clearify a bit. He didn't seem to mind the whole mutant thing, but Bats had tought him sometimes is was better to do things before the cops arrived.

Barghest has posed:
He tries not to growl when the book is dissolved. Nevada's got that much control, but there's a momentary stare shot aside towards the source of a laser beam near a frightened, twitchy little girl. A girl whom Nevada refocuses on to doing his level best to look friendly and reassuring. His tail is going, he's got that doggy grin, he's even uttering a quiet little whine. A whine that to most people would just sound appeasing, though to his sister its pleading. Let's go, come on, we need to get the hell outta here!

He tried to keep himself between Anna and the clear course to bolt towards her sister, whom in short time is recovered and taken aside to safety nearby. There's a relieved exhaled snort, but he seems still mostly focused on Anna and takes a few steps closer with his head pointedly down. See, fluffy dog wants pets. Pets mean she's close and in nudging range to get her to go /away/ from the chaos.

Mon-El has posed:
The notebook is destroyed and the dragon just disappears without a trace. Phew. At least -that- crisis is now averted. Lar is again visibly relieved. Who cares if anyone is annoyed that he fired lasers at a child. He had complete control over their intensity, she wouldn't be hurt. But now it seems the rest of the crew has the situation under control.

Wait, but one more thing--he goes over to Elsa and plucks whatever merchandise she had stolen before out of her pocket, returning it to Andrea.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
This mall was going to need quite the overhaul when the dust settled. But that was then, and right now, most of the civilians had been evacuated by Captain Boomerang and Supergirl. While they were doing that, the dragon seemed to be dealt with, which was a thought that Owen never figured would run through his head.

Andrea, the Flash, and Nevada seemed to be dealing with the girls, cooing, speaking softly, and offering them treats. Anything to put them at ease. This was why mutants were so scary. Anyone could be one. Although they seemed to develop before they usually were supposed to, at least from what Owen had read. He was trying to put fires out, using some clothes as blankets, fanning them, since they weren't chemical fires.

When he finally got a moment to breathe, he would grab his knees, bending over a bit, tired from his short bursts of super speed, "Oh good, seems perfect time to cough up a lung," to anyone who might be nearby.

Supergirl has posed:
Anna whimpers, clearly scared and confused, not just from the influence of the mysterious Black hoodie man, but also from the laser beam that destroyed her notebook. But Andrea is again a familiar figure, and an inspiration to her and her sister. Having a super adorable doggie totally helps too of course, and she reaches out to pet Nevada, smiling faintly and a bit calmed by his warm doggy presence, before just crying openly and giving Andrea a hug. "I'm soooo sorry! I was Soo scared, and when momma went away we thought Elsa could hear her voice but she kept saying scary things and said all these scary people were after us, and..Annd..." she cries and sniffles again as she just grips Andrea's hand tightly.

When Flash brings Elsa over, she seems to have maybe suffered a concussion from that fall, and is still unconscious but in stable condition, overwhelmed by her powers and the influence of hoodie guy over her, speaking of, where did he go?

In the background, Supergirl smiles and waves to Nevada and Andrea as she continues to put out fires and at least try to remove the immediate danger in the mall. Sadly, this mall is a bit trashed..

Rage has posed:
"It's okay, it's okay.. listen, we will find out what happened with your mom, okay?" Andrea says as she kneels down a bit to wrap her arms around her in return, giving the girl a firm hug. "I have friends that can help you out, other mutants like us. They'll make sure you and your sister will be safe."

She gives a glance over towards Nevada, pressing her lips into a bit of a frown as she swallows down some emotion in her throat. Children is her weak spot. When Lar heads over with the keychain, she stares at it for a moment, squinting her eyes. "Thanks." She says, then attaches it to Anna's beltloop. "Here, this will keep you safe." She says in an assuring tone.

Holding up her watch, she taps it. "James, give us an exit, we need EMS. Back door please." She gives a nudge to her brother. "You take her sister, let's head back into the store through the back door."

Flash has posed:
The Flash looks at them for a minute, while he didn't know anything about mutants, well he did some, but not for something like what comes next. He looks at Kara, and hesitates to hand over the girl to the other person. It wasn't that he distrusted them, it just felt wrong giving up someone vulernable to well... people he didn't know. Sure to the others Andrea might be popular, but not the him though she didn't seem bad or anything, so he looks up to Kara for the okay.

If he gets it he would slowly and carefully hand her over though he looks at Andrea, "When you find a place could you call the foundation. We won't ask questions, just want to make sure both sisters are safe." he doesn't threaten of course that wasn't his style. But he did worry about the well being of others so is just trying to follow up later so he knows it worked out.

Mon-El has posed:
With the girls seemingly well in hand, Lar goess off to help Kara tend to the rest of the fallout of this. Meaning any other trapped citizens, or fires that may have resulted from the mayhem, or anything else like that. All in all, this had been fairly tame. At least compared to some of the stuff he's been up against in the past.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
With some heroes tending to the disaster victims, as well emergency medical technicians, police, firefighters, and security all beginning to file in, Owen took in the situation. He had a reasonable idea of what had gone on, but was still confused by it all. So much damage and destruction, just because some kids were scared, and Mon-El and the security guard took a hard line against them. How different things would have been with just a little bit of compassion and a soft touch. He shook his head again, and then heard a groan, which immediately had him moving rubble to see who was under there, "help is on the way."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl smiles to The Flash. "It's alright, you can trust Andrea. She's not just a famous musician, she's got some other resources too and she's helped mutants in the past." she glances at the dog and chuckles, "Awee what a cute dog, didn't know you had pets!" of course Kara doesn't yet know he is in fact Nevada.

Anna seems to trust a Andrea enough, still grasping her hand tightly and following her once the EMS arrive to tend to her unconscious sister. Meanwhile, Supergirl looks around, continuing to put out flames, glancing to Lar and Boomer and Flash. "Good job everyone..Now, where did that Black hoodie guy go?"

....Where indeed? Looks like he escaped..
