Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Terra, Starfire, Raven

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Staten Island isn't always remembered for the commercial wonderland it is, having blocks and blocks of stores, shops, food trucks, and restaurants. Quite a few are cafes especailly near the high-rent areas nearer to the Plaza, or the gardens. Perhaps unsuprisingly given the rumored mafia presence, there are quite a few Italian restaurants and pizzarias.
Currently, a perky dark haired girl is busily cleaning up a table between guests. She's dressed in a nice green top, black shirt and a red apron, with a little old fashioned '50s style hat perched on her head, to give it that old school flare. Not too much though, because it's a pizzaria. Good pizza. Not too fancy.

She hums to herself as she sets out napkins and refills things, swaying her hips a bit to whatever song she's got in her head as she works. There don't appear to be many customers yet for the dinner rush.

Starfire has posed:
The name of Starfire may just be reverberating throughout Staten Island, and most of New York in particular. Legends speak of a strange, fiery (if friendly) orange sort of woman that swoops into pizzerias everywhere, leaving nothing but chaos and devastation in her wake. Well... that may not be true. What is more likely is that Starfire was known to be fond of the New York delicacy, both for its portability and its taste.

Grease was her drug of choice.

After investigating a lead on one part of this island, Starfire angles her flight to take her nearish the pizzeria, alighting outside of it. Considering it was just before dinner, Star had learned that it was more polite to purchase her customary five or so pizzas before a rush began, so she steps through the door drawing eyes from the customers that are seated there already.

Which was kinda expected. She tended to draw attention after all.

"Hello friends!" she says, stepping through the pizzeria. Dressed she was in a purple top - it showed her belly, and a likewise purple skirt that had purple shorts atop it, she had little cloth gauntlets (guess which color), with green gems set at her center of her chest, and on the backs of both of her hands. Wearing a smile, she marches past the waitress - although she gives her a smile, and approaches the person at the counter. "Three pepperoni pizza, one sausage and onion, and... one of what you choose, please. All of the medium size, I do not wish to eat too much," she says, patting her belly with a wide grin at the joke.

With that done, she turns - and points a hand at the table Terra was nearest. "...is that table taken? When I have my food, may I consume of it here?"

Atlee (1034) has posed:
A flying gorgeous orange-skinned girl DOES attract a certain amount of attention, even among the jaded. Quite a few people stand up, some pull out phones to take pictures, and there's whispering and passersby who stop what they're doing to watch her land.

One of the few who doesn't react much at all is said waitress, who watches her land with a curious expression, then smiles as Starfire greets everyone. "Hello friend!" she returns. She feels people should start conversations like that more! Wanting to be friends already. "That table is free, yes, I just cleaned it." She walks over to Starfire, then gets out a little and with concentrate scribbles on it to take the order.

"Of what I want?" she says curiously. She taps her chin with the pencil, her violet eyes thoughful. "Do you like sweet things, or spicy things? Or maybe more savory?" she offers.

Starfire has posed:
Stepping over towards the table proper, Starfire does not sit - not yet, not until her order was finished. A beat, though, and Starfire grins at the last things said. She nods her head at sweet, nods her head at spicy - and then again at savory. It was just such a joy to eat as a general rule!

Star considers, bringing her hand to her chin to stroke it. "I think that today I prefer something spicy - that goes well with apples of pine. I would prefer a spicy pizza with that," she offers to the waitress.

Another moment - another blink of her luminous green eyes. "Unless you mean what you wish - for if you wish to eat too, please feel free to join me! I have much cash, and would be happy to help everyone with food," she says, tilting her head to the side as she watches Terra's own eyes. "I am Koriand'r - but I am also called Starfire, friend chef. It is most pleasant to meet you, and I cannot wait to consume your glorious offerings!"

She sounded very very earnest. About everything.

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Atlee finds herself cheered just being around Kori...not that it requires a lot usually, but there's about being around an actively sunny person! You just want to return that sort of energy. She considers seriously...because pizza is serious business. "...I would say you should try the spicy Hawaiian then! It has pineapple and is sweet, but the sauce is spicy so there is a nice bite to it?"

She grins at the offer. "Hmm. Sure, I will be done here in a moment, then I am off work. I'd love to eat pizza with you!" she says cheerfully. She thinks, then offers her hand. "I am named Atlee. It's nice to meet you Koriand'r..." she says, slowing over the name to make sure she gets it right.

Meanwhile, the offer of free pies has not gone completely unnoticed. Some kids who are hanging out near the open area of the cafe look up. Free pizza (also, girls), but mostly it's the free pizza that causes one to ask. "You serious, you'll float us enough for some pies?"

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods her head towards Atlee. "Then I will choose the spicy Hawaiian pizza for the last one!" she says, her tone of voice almost final in its selection. Star found that 'spicy' in Earth talk was 'mildly tangy' in her own palate of flavors, at least so far. So much so that mustard was edible straight up to her, but that's a conversation for another time, ahem.

"Is that the sort of pizza that you would choose?" she asks of Atlee. A beat, though, and she takes the waitress' hand, giving it a firm little squeeze and a pump. "You did a very good job with my name, Atlee - you can call me Starfire though, if it is easier?" she says, canting her head to the side with a wide grin.

Starfire releases the hand as she is approached, however, turning towards the girls. "Oh, yes, I am purchasing many of the pepperoni pizzas. Would you like one?" she asks of the girls, brightening her smile. "And it is pleasant to meet you all - I am Koriand'r - but you can call me Kori, or Starfire, even." They probably had heard. Starfire was... well... loud.

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Atlee looks pleased. "If we are considering easier names, I could also call you Kori? If you don't mind your name being shortened. Mine is too short already so there's not much not to use, but it suits me!" She bounces on her toes a bit. "And yes, I would! It is not super spicy, though...you can add peppers if you want it more, but I don't know how that would make the pineapple taste..." she admits. She has a nice firm handshake.

The girls drift over. "Sure, if you're buying, that'd be great!" one of the older girls with Italian features says. "We were just figurin' out if we had enough as it is...hey, you want we should buy you drinks? Maybe a pitcher or somethin'?" Atlee, meanwhile, steps to the side. "I will be right back." she assures Kori, then heads in the back to drop off the order. When she re-emerges, she's carrying a cute yellow duffle over one shoulder and is tucking her apron into it leaving her in her simple pleated black skirt and green t-shirt.

Starfire has posed:
"I do not mind Atlee. It is about the same as Kori, right? Two syllables, and easy to say," says Star, holding up two fingers with that. "Oh, is this true?" she asks. "Please, bring peppers with this glorious pizza, and I will eat it all," she says, her tone of voice growing a touch more serious from her usual unhindered joy. "What sort of pizza do you normally eat?" she asks of Atlee.

And by the time Atlee comes back, Kori was deep in shallow conversation with the girls, at least, in the stages where they are complimenting each other's looks in various fashions, and Kori had accepted her offer of a pitcher. The doctor's pepper seemed most appropriate for the sort of pizza she was ordering, so they had had a pitcher of that at the table.

Upon seeing Atlee, Kori lifts her hand to wave the other woman over, hefting her glass of soda high. "Atlee, Atlee! Come! Drink of the Doctor's Pepper with us! It isn't spicy at all, I promise!"

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Atlee smiles at that as she heads over, setting down her bag by the table. "Sure!" she says, snagging a mug and pouring some as well. "Mmm, as for pizza, I don't know yet. The only pizza I do not like is if it has.....fish." She wrinkles her nose. "I tried something called sushi once...they were so pretty! Like little fancy rolls, but they tasted..." She makes a bleah face. "It was terrible! They weren't even cooked!" She pauses. "The sauce they had was nice though! It was green....washibi?" One of the other girls pauses from gnawing on a slice to correct. "Wasabi....you eat that stuff?" Atlee nods cheerfully. "But they don't have it here, or we coudl put it on the pizza too!"

Starfire has posed:
"They do not even cook this sushi?" Koriand'r likewise seemed disturbed by this concept, her brow furrowing - and the edges of her lips turning downward.

"What is the purpose of food looking nice if it tastes poorly?" she asks of the others, bringing up a hand to scratch the side of her own neck. This wasabi, though, piques her interest. "Is wasabi something that is normally eaten with pizzas, and you just do not have it here?" A beat. "If that is not the case, perhaps we could find some wasabi at the grocery store and bring it with our next pizza, yes?" she asks, checking the group for consensus.

Atlee (1034) has posed:
The dark haired girl bleahs, but smiles. "They say it's supposed to be like that! I guess they make it with just plants too, maybe I will try one of those sometime. But fish taste...strange." she admits. "It's good to try new things, you never know what you'll like after all." The other girls look a bit bemused at this conversation, with the Italian looking girl saying. "Um, yeah, but you totally can get better things that are hot. Like, ghost peppers or something?" she offers. Terra blinks. "...are they dead peppers?" she asks cautiously after a moment.

Starfire has posed:
"I have only eaten some fish so far, and it was a joy each time," says Starfire. "Yes, it is a little more bland than steak or other meat, but sometimes they can cook fish very well... but to not cook it?" Star pauses a few moments, scratching at the side of her own nose. "This seems a terrible way to serve a meal," she says.

Star seemed to be taking the ghost peppers thing at face value, but Terra (whom she had assumed was entirely human) was surprised at the name of the thing.

Star lets her eyes drift from Terra towards the Italian looking girl, her voice hushing in confusion. "... are the rest of the peppers that we eat alive?"

Atlee (1034) has posed:
The other girls burst into laughter. One of the younger ones, who has her hair up in twin poofs that go well with her caramel colored skin, grins. "No! Well, like, not more than other veggies...it's just a name!" The Italian girl nodnods. "But they're like, so MAJOR hot, even a drop on your tongue is really, REALLY hot! Like go for a pitcher of milk hot. I had a friend who tried to finish a plate of ghost pepper wings for a contest, he was, like, bright red and covered in sweat after just a few of them!

Atlee looks relieved. "Oh, well, that's alright then." She looks to Kori curious. "...are you new to this town?" she wonders thoughfully.

Raven has posed:
As the aliens converse with the humans about the strangeness of human food rituals, a dark figure walks up to the threshold of the pizzeria. The bell chimes on her entry, announcing the pale skinned goth with a sullen look of indifference on her face. If the other girls in the pizzeria are sunshine, daisies, and buttermellow, this girl is licorice, gravestones, and stormy clouds. The girl has her hood pulled up over her head despite the weather outside being a hot Metropolis afternoon.

Raven enters and lets the door close behind her before moving over to the table with the orange-skinned girl in purple. Without a word, she pulls out a chair and sits down.

"Hey, Star," Raven says, looking over from the green eyed alien to Terra, the more classic humanoid variant starchild.

Starfire has posed:
Looking after both other women with a certain wide-eyed look. A beat, and she nods her head. "So these are the most challenging of Earth peppers in their spice. I must try them, perhaps on the pizza - do you think... we could find pizza with them on them, or are they just in these wings?" she asks, canting her head to one side.

    Her eyes flicker to Atlee.

"Yes. I am also somewhat new to this planet as well, and I am very happy to be here!" she enthuses. A moment's pause. "Are you new to this town as well? It does seem to be very large, compared to most of them that I have seen..." she says. Terra didn't seem too inhuman, so Star was using her as a point of human reference, for the most part. "/Oh/!" Raven was spotted about as soon as she enters the pizzeria. Star nearly stands up straight in her seat, lifting her hand to wave to her...

As if it would be difficult to find her in this place.

"Friend... friend Raven, we are here!" But Raven was swiftly there, and Star seemed to brighten even /more/, somehow, with her smile nearly ear to ear. "I am so very glad you have come!" she says. One could see the hug in the way she tensed up, and her very demeanor - but she resists that urge here... for some reason.

"We have the doctor's pepper, pizza with peppers, and are talking about the hottest peppers on this planet! Do you know of these... ~ghost~ peppers?" Kori was putting spooky effect on the ghost portion of the word.

She meant it to be enticing, to encourage Raven to join the conversation by putting a scarier spin on it. But one could be forgiven if it was seen as mocking.

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Terra smiles a bit as she's asked about how new she is, but Raven's entry prevents her from answering immediately, as she looks over to the gothy one as she joins her. "Welcome..." she says cheerfully. "And I think ANYTHING can be on a pizza. It seems like it is a rule? Or should be a rule..." she adds thoughfully.

She offers her hand to Rachel. "I'm Atlee, nice to meet you! Would you like something to drink? We have several types of pizza Kori has bought that may be to your taste too?" She's falling a little back into waitress mode...which she apparently is in this place, though off duty now, judging from the matching jade green shirt and black skirt she's wearing that other waitresses are also wearing.

Raven has posed:
, the hood draped over the goth's face to obscure her eyes. Underneath a leotard of dark purple that clings tightly to her figure like a gymnastic outfit. Black leggings cover all of the legs until they disappear into classic folded boots that reach half up her thighs/, also in purple,It is hard to miss a woman wearing what amounts to almost all black and blue in the sort of weather that's going on. A cloak that flows to the floor/, the hood draped over the goth's face to obscure her eyes. Underneath a leotard of dark blue that clings tightly to her figure like a gymnastic outfit. Black leggings cover all of the legs until they disappear into classic folded boots that reach half up her thighs/, also in blue, the hood draped over the goth's face to obscure her eyes. Underneath a leotard of dark purple that clings tightly to her figure like a gymnastic outfit. Black leggings cover all of the legs until they disappear into classic folded boots that reach half up her thighs, also in purple. A superheroine that really does embody the darkness of such an indifferent emotional state.

Raven looks at Kori explaining the topic, then looks back at the other girls with a level of indifference at their mixed responses that could challenge even the most dominant alpha. She blinks then hmmms aloud.

"They aren't my thing," Raven states succinctly. "And not everything should be on pizza. Especially not tofu." Raven sounds disgusted, but vaguely so, as if unwilling to commit to the travesty of emotion towards something she might conceivably despise.

Then Raven peels back her hood to reveal her full face, the purple-black locks of hair, and the red gem on her forehead. Glancing to Terra, Raven answers back in creaky mezzosoprano, "Likewise."

Starfire has posed:
And Starfire herself wore purple. Yes - purple. A purple top that had a high collar to it, with long purple sleeves, and a lighter purple trim. The top ended a little bit above her bellybutton, and her orange skin shown through that. Down below, she wore a skirt and purple shorts, said skirt-and-shorts ending about mid-thigh. And tall purple boots. A gem of ~alien origin~, but as bright green as her eyes, sat on the back of each hand and at the breastbone.

And Starfire nearly ~always~ wore a smile.

Whether or not the other girls were threatened by this challenge to their pecking order was a mystery. Kori, after all, was feeding them free pizza. And Star was quickly getting some food for her friend - pulling slices of pizza from the box to stack upon one of the paper plates, and utilizing an unused cup to fill it with the Dr. Pepper.

"So, this is my favorite of them," she says, pointing to one of this slices. "Apple of the pine, and red peppers, and spicy sauce, with meat of some kind that I cannot identify! They call it sausage!" And she sounded like this was the happiest thing to happen to her all week. "And this next slice is pepperoni, and the last slice is sausage. Please, eat all three, and say what is your favorite!" gushes Kori, pushing plate and drink in front of Raven.

Reaching for another slice of the spicy herself, Kori forgoes the plate to just hold the slice in her hand, eating at it.

"And oh... there is something I wish to speak with you about. Perhaps later, though - as it involves magic and villains and things we should probably keep secret, yes?"

Atlee (1034) has posed:
The other girls seem to accept it pretty easily, shrugging but introducing themselves as well. The older Italian girl is Tori, the poofy haired one is Claudia, and the other blond girl is name Staci. With an i, as she'll make sure everyone knows.

Terra hmms. "I have not tried tofu. But it seems to be very popular. I often see restaurants advertising food with it?" She snags a piece of pizza once she will not get grease on the newcomer's hand as she watches Raven curiously, then realizes she's being rude and flushes, focusing on her pizza. She probably should not ask! It might be rude. Is it rude?

....but she REALLY wants to know about the gem now. That's so neat! Also the hood...wait...

Terra pauses in eating as she swallows, blinking at Star. Then back to Raven. "....are you a wizard?"' she whispers. Not that it's really going to stop anyone at the table from hearing, like all the three girls, who are all looking curious between the two now.

Raven has posed:
Raven watches her food get served to her, but at this point she's used to it based on her rather watchful gaze.

"Better for later, yes," Raven answers. She shifts her gaze to Terra, the individual she is unfamiliar with, and considers the dark-haired alien's emotional state with a sigh. Almost as cheery as Starfire. Raven picks up one piece of pizza and the cheese nearly sloughs off the bread due to the greasiness. "How appetizing," she sarcastically quips, then folds the pizza in half to start nibbling on the crust side first. "Tofu isn't food. It's a gross food substitute... Starfire, stop mentioning magic to strangers when I come around. We have enough troubles as is."

Starfire has posed:
Starfire pauses a few moments more, biting her lower lip. She knew Beast Boy appreciated tofu, for his own reasons. "It is a vegetable, that does not have much taste, nor does it sit heavy on the stomach, so you do not feel full unless you eat a lot of tofu," says Star. Another few moments, at Raven's chiding, and Starfire brings up her hand to cover her own mouth.

Leaning forward, Star adds, in a whisper that wasn't really a whisper at Starfire's volume. "I am sorry to mention the magic. It was just bothering me, because..."

Starfire turns in her seat, kinda displaying her back and shoulders to Raven. Reaching behind herself, she tugs her hair out of the way a bit, and lifts the back of her shirt with her other hand (after stuffing maximum pizza into her mouth, and chewing).

There was a wicked spot on her back - Tamaraneans were very sturdy things, so the fact that Star had a burn there might be interesting enough. But unless Raven was a doctor, or really knew her burns, the idea that the mark was made with hellfire may or may not be apparent.

Holding this pose for a moment, Star tugs her shirt back down, and resettles in her seat. "I mean... has your day gone well?" she asks.

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Terra, emotionally speaking, feels a lot like Starfire in many way, the same openness and wonder, along with a good bit of naivete. But it's mixed with a strong sense of purpose. Not especially at the moment...until Starfire shows her burn. The other girls whistle. "Wow, what happened?" says Claudia, all wide-eyed.

Terra leans forward at that, and there's a definite rush of....outrage?...in her as she sees Kori is injured. She immediately moves over a bit. "Are you sure that does not need medical attention? I have a first aid kit in my bag..." she offers immediately. "Who did this to you?"

She gives the impression that she's going to storm out and hunt said person down. Right now! Well, after she bandages Kori, maybe. It has nicely distracted her from pondering if Raven is secretly a wizard. It's the robe, mostly.

Raven has posed:
Raven isn't wearing a robe! It's a cloak. Raven looks at Starfire's burn and remarks in an calm, but urgent voice, "Star, we need to go." The cloak swirls about Raven as she moves from her seat, leaving a half-eaten pizza slice on top of the other two.

Grabbing Starfire by the arm, Raven pulls, her human level strength evident against the superpowered alien that would likely remain unmoved by the force of her tugging. "Hurry. I need to cross examine against my books."

Starfire has posed:
"I um..." Kori's innate need to express and talk about everything about herself was running up against her direction to be a little more subtle in public. The sunny alien's eyes look towards Terra with something akin to woundedness. "It is fine. It does not need medical attention - not one bit," says Koriand'r.

A beat, and Starfire smiles. "It does not even hurt anymore! Besides, it is good to have scars and things - it is more rare on Tamaran than here on Earth, and it is the sign of a great warrior, yes?" she says. Canting her head to the side, she looks from Terra to Raven.

Eyes widen, and Star stands up again, grabbing another slice of pizza before taking a (very) large bite form it. It might be a testament that Raven's tugging was pulling Star off of her feet, but the Tamaranean did float - so she was kinda drifting in the direction of Raven's tuggings, if not pulled outright - she was surrendering to Raven's guidance there. "Is it that terrible?" she asks the other in a whisper. "It only itches now."

Atlee (1034) has posed:
Terra looks a bit uncertain at Raven's reaction. She's obviously concerned..maybe it was worse than she thought? She doesn't know much of how magic works. Maybe...maybe it it is like that terrible scary film where all the people get strange symbols on them and then the weird scary man with the scythe shows up and....n-no, she was assured this was not a real thing.

    Maybe.

The other girls scatter a bit as Kori is pulled out, offering condolences on the injuries and urging Kori to get better as they wave goodbye. This looks like a thing that they should not be in the middle of! Also, there is still pizza.

On the other hand, Terra snags the yellow duffle by the table and slides the strap over her shoulder, starting to follow after undertainly. "It cannot hurt if you have a bandage on it, at least. Or some salves." she insists.

Raven has posed:
Raven pulls Starfire to the door, but instead of going through it her hands and eyes both glow with the activation of her magic. Raven's shadow extends out as a large shadow in the style of a raven spreading its wings onto the windows, darkening the glass as if it were opaque. She steps into the shadow as it darkens the doorway, the formerly solid wall now a portal to step through. Without hesitation, Raven pulls Starfire through. The large shadow sits there, waiting for several long seconds, then Raven looks at Terra as her head pokes back through the shadowed portal to Terra.

    "Are you coming?"

Atlee (1034) has posed:
There's some definite gasps from the other people in the restaurant, though no one seems to panic. Terra blinks, stopping as the shado spreads, then forms a portal. She has a moment where she looks unsure, then Raven pokes back through.

"Yes!" she says firmly, then heads in the portal after the two other girls.

Starfire has posed:
The situation of the portal drawing open - Star hadn't had that many opportunities to see it just yet. So her luminous green eyes widen at the sight of the forming shadow, her mouth hanging open wide. Her mind flickered to Raven just telling her to be quiet about magic, but she was a bit docile as she was tugged into the portal as well.

    "I could fly us..."

    Gone.
