An Afternoon Check-In
Date of Scene: 19 May 2021
Location: Jeremy's Room (West Halls), Xavier's School
Synopsis: Rogue visits Jeremy to play catch up...and apparently matchmaker.
Cast of Characters: Rogue, SpyderByte

Rogue has posed:
A visit to Storm's room in the attic? Check. Going to make sure Rosie's actually okay? Check. Getting information that then leads a concerned Rogue to one Jeremy Statton's room? Check. She hasn't really slowed down since she started making rounds this morning, but that's okay. Rogue has moments where she's got a bit of a social battery that needs draining, and since there are well beings on the line, that just gives her more of a reason to talk to people. Especially since she's talking to people she actually likes.

So here she is, in front of Jeremy's door, a glass of sweet tea in hand which she takes a drink from as she lifts a hand to give three solid knocks. "Hey Jer? You in? It's Rogue."

SpyderByte has posed:
The phone in Rogue's pocket chirps.

<< I'm in, door is unlocked and Gray is in the rec room. Come on in. >>

The Goth is sitting at his computer desk next to the window, which is wide open so that he can listen to the steady rainfall outside. The lights are off and the room is still warm from the amount of heat his computers puts out. He has four monitors set up on the desk and on mounts, each one displaying several camera feeds and sites that do not appear to be normal web browsers. He gives a long stretch, then slides out of his expensive chair, the type that conforms to his body with each movement he makes.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue opens the door, letting herself in, and promptly shuts it after. She then goes straight to the bed in front of her knowing there's not really another chair in the room, and sits on the edge of it. She doesn't bother looking at the monitors - that's his job and none of her business.

"I wanted to come by and let you know that Rosie's been brought back safe and sound. She wasn't doing to well last night. Really down on herself, but I just got done talking to her again. I think she'll be okay." Rogue offers, getting straight to point one.

Point two has her pausing a moment, taking a drink of tea before offering Jeremy the glass. She doesn't mind sharing - really. "Drink?" Then, "Though... I also visited Miss Munroe this morning. She mentioned something about having you...delete...data? Of a sort? I... I assume it was in relation to what happened with Rosie. I wanted to come by and make sure you were okay... kinda what I've been doing all morning. You'd think I was the school's psych or something."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I know Rosie is home. I was able to see the security logs in real time. I have been obsessing over it. I already have her backup phone for her ready to go, as well as the last restore point she had. I ported her number over to her new sim card as well. >>

Jeremy gives a motion of his hand toward the desk where there is three tipped over cans of energy drink and a fourth cracked open. It's probably why he is rocking a bit back and forth on his feet.

<< Thank you for finding her. I plan on talking to her later when she feels ready, I am sure that she is still upset about what happened. >>

He makes his way over to settle down next to her on the bed. His bed still has tangled and rumpled sheets, while Gray's bed is still made and untouched. He gives a few bounces on the edge of the mattress.

<< I am fine. Miss Munroe asked me to delete everything because people were recording. I decided it would be safe to utilize my powers in an aggressive manner by destroying everything around me. >>

Rogue has posed:
"Miss Munroe doesn't really remember anything. She meant to make sure you were alright yourself but she's...having issues. I think they've placed her on a medical leave." Rogue says, and then she shrugs. "But I suppose you knew that too." Then she takes another drink of her glass, munching on a piece of ice a moment.

"You don't need to thank me. I'm just glad I did, and I'm glad I was able to talk her into coming back. She almost didn't..." Rogue offers this and then takes a slow breath. "She opened up a bit about her, you and Gray. And a few other things. We had a long talk this morning. I think she'll need some time still, but I think she'll be okay. Just...try and get her to talk to Hank for me? I really think he and Rosie should work together on her powers."

As Jeremy explains what he did and how, Rogue just gives a nod. "Obviously that was for the best. I hear the girl survived as well. How's Geronimo faring? I should help you get some stuff for him..."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I did not know, but I do now. >>

Jeremy gives a furrow of his brows.

<< What do you mean by having issues? She seemed fine that night, she took charge and responded instantly when I sent her a distress comm. >>

Giving a glance over towards the bed at the sleeping kitten nestled up in the sheets, he gives a smile.

<< He is doing fine. So far he has not ate Gray's rat. What did Rosie say about Gray and I? >>

He gives a slow blink of his eyes, suddenly shifting a bit nervously.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shakes her head. "Something about not remembering...anything. She had even forgotten Rosie was gone, and she forgot you had done anything. Like that whole period of time is just...not in her memory." Explaining that much as she looks to her glass more pointedly.

"She just mentioned that the three of you are in a relationship. That you and Gray are her boyfriends. Then she said it was complicated but not. I told her that so long as it is what the three of you want, then it shouldn't be complicated at all." A pause. "...And reminded her that some people can't be that lucky..."

There was actually a bit that Rogue let herself confess, and such memories are written on the woman's face as she flexes a gloved hand. Though she forces a smile. "I'm glad he has not tried to eat Gray's rat. You should be able to introduce them in a way that they'll be friends and he won't try to do such. I'll bring some gifts for him. Toys. Food. All cat necessities..."

SpyderByte has posed:
Giving a nod of his head as he listens, Jeremy gives a glance to his computer as a file pulls up in front of a screen. He then shifts his fingers to scoot the window off to the side and out of sight. Something to toy with later it appears.

<< Miss Munroe should speak with Miss Grey or Miss Braddock. >>

Lifting a hand upwards, he rubs the bridge of his nose, then nods his head as if to confirm, yes.

<< Yes, the three of us. It is complicated. I think. We care about each other a lot. Each of us make each other fit together better here. These are new feelings to me, so, I am taking things one day at a time. But, I need Rosie as much as I need Gray. >>

He rubs his hands together slightly, then leans in to bump his shoulder against hers.

<< You will find love too. You are beautiful and strong. >>

Rogue has posed:
"She did mention speaking to Hank, but...I did suggest she maybe talk to Jean. Suppose it'll all work itself out in the end. I'm just Storm's friend...and hope she finds out what's wrong and gets better." Rogue says this much and then takes another drink from her glass, draining the rest of its contents.

That smile returns as Jeremy lets in his own thoughts on what's happening between himself, Gray and Rosie. "Well. Going slow, a day at a time, is never a bad thing. I am glad the three of you found each other, and I do wish all three of you the best."

Those last offered words and that shoulder bump gain another smile and an actual chuckle from Rogue. She bumps Jeremy's shoulder back and then reaches to boop his nose with a gloved finger that's kinda cold from the glass she's holding. "Takes more than beauty and strength to win someone over sometimes, Jer. Especially when your whole existence is...you can't touch me cause I'll ruin your life."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< For the last four years, I never wanted to touch someone. You would have been the perfect girlfriend for me. We could just talk to each other without touching. But, there is someone out there. Maybe you will meet a guy who's powers nullify yours, or maybe he won't be able to be harmed by you. Maybe he's made of malliable plastic. Your powers only work on organic physical touch, right? You need to find a rubber guy. >>

Jeremy gives her one of his big, goofy smiles on his face that always looks awkward for him to do, as if he just hasn't figured out how to smile in a social setting of intimacy yet.

His nose gives a wiggle at the boop, followed by a soft giggle as he blows some hair away from his face. It's getting longer now and curling at the ends.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue lets out a sort of lamented sigh. "If only I had known..." Then she chuckles and shakes her head. He'd of been too young for her, really. "If I wanted a rubber guy I'd go down to the local sex shop and buy one." Trying to joke, but it's sort of empty. "It's fine. For now. Just gets a little lonely at times. Then I blow out my social battery and tuck myself away with only myself and remind that people usually suck."

That smile though, it causes her to genuinely smile back at him and she turns her head to bump her forehead against his shoulder. Carefully. So very much so.

"Anyway... I just wanted to check in on you...I'm sure I interrupted you working or..something..so I'll get out of your way."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< It's okay, we can talk. I'm still working even as we do. I can partition my brain to multi-task when I'm networked to my server. It's just reflex at this point, muscle memory. >>

Jeremy gives a bright smile at her as he huffs out some more bangs away from his face.

He gives a snap of his fingers as Rogue's phone pings. He gives an amused smile as his shoulders lift upwards.

<< I scanned all of Xavier's files recently because I was curious about other mutants that have come and go or have been catalogued in the system. That is Javiar Lopez. He can transmute his body into different layers of materials. He's latino, really cute and has that swishy swoop to his hair. I also linked his Tindr profile to your phone, in case you wanted to poke him, or however that app works. >>

His brows lift upwards, giving his tongue ring a click against his teeth. New jewelry he's sporting.

Rogue has posed:
"You're like a walking computer. It's amazing and terrifying at the same time." Rogue offers and then takes a breath. When her phone pings and Jeremy offers up what he just sent her, she raises a brow and then gives a laugh. "So now you're playing match maker. Okay. I get it." A nudge to his shoulder. "Thanks."

She even pulls out her phone to look at what Jeremy sent her, and since Jeremy seemed to show a bit of interest even if physically only, she's not shy about letting him look at her screen with her. "Mmn...he /is/ cute..."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< He really is. He has nice eyes and a nice smile. His psychology profile shows that he is of mild temperment and does not wish to be a hero. He works construction. He graduated from community college and has a masonary certification. >>

Jeremy gives a small smile and shrugs his shoulders upwards with a giggle. So, maybe he knows too much about Javiar. A crush? Or just really good at researching and catalouging.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue blinks and glances over at Jeremy a moment before she actually decides to 'swipe right' on his tindr profile. "I mean... what's the worse that happens yeah? He swipes left on me?" Then she thinks on it, and side eyes Jeremy once more. "You seem to know a lot about this guy. Next think you'll be able to tell me his star sign, favorite color, and where he lives." Which isn't an invitation to tell, but Jeremy may provide the info anyway if he knows it. "Have you gotten everything ready for prom?"

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Saggitarius because he was born December twelth. I can give you his address. His apartment has minimal security and easy carport access from two streets. I am going to assume red is his favorite color because four out of his seven profile pictures have him wearing a red shirt, or a red hat. It compliments his skin tone. >>

Jeremy just stares at her unblinkingly, then slowly tilts his head to one side.

<< Yes, Gray and I have picked out matching tuxedos and we have corsages for Rosie. I think she is still trying to figure out a dress. She is worried about price, even though I assured her I would pay for it. She just feels self-conscious to mooch. >>

Rogue has posed:
"I...don't want his address. I'm not going to turn into some..." She stops herself before saying 'weird stalker'...but it's likely implied. Even if she's not trying to say that Jeremy's that way. "I'm also not going to give myself high hopes. That's just setting myself up for disappointment." But she's still smiling, so that's saying something right?

A nod is given to the next thing Jeremy says. "Ah, yeah. Likely a way around that. Let her pick out a dress she wants, underhandedly pay for it. Something like that." She shrugs. "Us southern women can be a bit stubborn though..." A pause. "Do you really think she grew up in a cult?"

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Yes. I do. They beat girls and married them off as minors to adults. They practiced religion multiple times a day for eight hour stints. They rule with fear and they manipulate people into thinking they're going to hell unless they do exactly as their told. >>

Jeremy gives a frown on his face, then squints his eyes over towards Rogue.

<< I feel terrible for her. >>

Rogue has posed:
Rogue nods. "She touched on it. Told me how living was for her. Told me how someone else suffered because they were thought to be a mutant, when really it was Rosie. The whole thing...just awful." She offers and then takes a breath. "We're all damaged in our own ways. I think that's one reason we all sort of get along as well as we do you know?"

Then there's a sigh, and Rogue shifts to munch on another piece of ice out of her glass. "Not to leave on a sour note...but I should probably go take care of some more work. Haven't really had a slow day recently.." She chuckles then. "But I'll come back by later with some stuff for Geronimo, yeah?"

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Okay. I look forward to seeing you again. I'll send Rosie a message to her computer to let her know I love her. >>

Jeremy bumps against her and rises up once more, heading over to his chair as he sinks down into it.

<< I plan on helping get her mother out of there. She's a prisoner of that life and she misses her. >>

Rogue has posed:
"If you need help with that let me know." Rogue offers as she heads for the door.

"I look forward to coming back and talking more. See you soon, Jer." And she exits.
