Failing a Sneak Check

Eva (170) has posed:
Its night in Westchester. Things are mostly quiet outside. Inside the mansion, are things ever quiet? Up in her own room, Eva Wilde is busy. She's spent the past hour on the phone trying to find someone, anyone to take a hunt. She really didn't want to do it. Sadly, no one was available. That means it boils down to her. She quickly gets herself ready to go. She grabs a few things out of her tool chest and then, she moves out the door.

The young teacher begins quietly moving out the door. She's trying her best to be quiet and sneak out. The last thing she wants is to stir trouble. Sadly she isn't expecting any late night people hanging out in the foyer...

David Akenda (207) has posed:
Of all sthings David is most concered with is his health and physical fitness, prefering a healthy diet and regularly scheduled meals. So it is rare when he desires to raid the pantry for a midnight snack. In fact he hasn't done so yet.

Tonight is an exception. unable to sleep, or rest. As he is thinking about Doug, and other things he had finally decided to just get up from his bed and head down to the kitchen managing to get himself a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream as he is reading one of his texts books.only casually paying attention when he comes out of the kitchen area.

Tendril has posed:
    When you're in a new place, sometimes you just take a bit to figure out the rules.

    In Alexia's case, she's definitely out of her room later than she should be, because, well...lights out or not, she forgot about dinner, only got a handful of protein bars, and her stomach is currently telling her she really needs just a few more calories to burn before she tries to sleep.

    So she's headed to the kitchen as well.

    Except, she's currently using her whips to swing along the rafters as she zips down the hall, instead of being normal and walking. Like BORING people.

    Besides, she saw Beast doing it. And he's a teacher. So she can't be blamed for it, right? It's a rolemodel thing!

Professor X has posed:
    "A bit late to be heading out, isn't it Evangeline?"
    The voice of the Professor is short and sharp. He doesn't sound bothered, angry or even frustrated. But his tone is near instantly recognisable -- perhaps given it's the Grandfatherly tone of the entire school. Having yet to retire for the evening, the Professor wheels out from a corner of darkness and into a lighter part of the foyer, Charles comes to a stop not far from the hunter. A small smile graces his expression, eyes sizing the figure up and down. "Are we to expect you back for breakfast, at least?" Naturally, he's aware that she does this. Her tendency to slip out at night is something he's grown accustomed to. But still, it was always good to catch her!
    David wandering out of the kitchen area with a huge serve of mint icecream is only given a passing glance, in this case.
    Heck, even Alexia /swinging down the hall with whips/ gets a reaction from him! Though it does draw a curious look.

Eva (170) has posed:
Eva stops in her tracks. She turns to look toward the voice. She's heard it before. She's not actually met the person. She gives a smile, making sure to keep her jacket from coming up. "Hello! You must be Professor Xavier. Its a pleasure to finally meet you."

She walks over to him for the moment. Her hunt can wait for the moment. "Oh umm. Yeah. I have to go on a hunt. Just a haunting, I think. I've spent the past hour trying to find someone to do the job but, no one is available. That leaves me." She laughs. "I should be back before morning. Either way I will be back. I can do research from here."

Jacky Diamond has posed:
Late at night, Jacky should be sleeping. His job waits too early in the morning. This week, since it's been the 4th of Explosions, he's had to help with and/or find lost pets who freaked out at the fireworks. Having ESP helps with that but he's careful not to be //too// obvious because freaky doctor hippy-talk doesn't always fool them and they realize that he really //can// communicate with their pets, and find things, and so on. But something about hunting. Hunting? What the ever why? He woke up from a nightmare about it, and since he's been showing up every once in a while to make breakfast with Hank, he's got the foyer of the mansion well in mind. And he teleported with the adrenalin from the dream. Fortunately he sleeps in bicycle pants, because otherwise he'd be flashing everyone.

"GAH! Whoah. Oh, hello, Professor. Sorry to intrude. I haven't had a nightmare jaunt in a while."

David Akenda (207) has posed:
Having been a little out of touch some he has missed the arrival of Alexia at the school or perhaps just been to introverted to socilize much. But the talk of a Haunting catches his attention. And he says, "A haunting?" he asks of Eva, he's genuinely curious. She did identify his sword as magical and that it is bound to his blood line as well. So he is wondering what is going on. Part of him is wanting to help if he can, but.

Still Aleixa's swinging through the Rafters catches his attention and debates using his wires to stop her as a prank, and a smile as he can't resist as he allows his own wires to snap up to try and grab hold of her legs as she is swinging. the wires intending to wrapp around her legs and hold her as the spider silk like wires try to grab her.

Tendril has posed:
    Erk! Headmaster!

    The student currently swinging along like a monkey brakes hard, pulling on the whip she's currently dangling from to halt her forward momentum, meaning to drop gracefully to the floor.

    This is her plan. But now...there are wires. And there is a squawk from Alexia as she suddenly finds herself dangling. "H-hey!" She sways back and forth, aware that she's now officially making a scene. "...um, hi." Pause. "...aaawwwwkward." she mutters, squirming as she grunts, then flexes a bit, trying to shift the wires.

Professor X has posed:
    "The pleasure is mine." Charles greets, offering a hand in introductions. "A 'hunt'?" He queries, pursing his lips. "This may astonish you, but you are not the first -- nor last I presume -- to try and sneak out of this building after hours. All I ask is that you be careful. Even if this just is what you call a haunting. I do believe we are having some of Ororo's delicious ash pancakes tomorrow morning for breakfast. You wouldn't want to miss that."
    Jacky literally popping into existence in the foyer in naught but his bicycle pants causes a frown from the Professor. "Jacky. I suppose I should be thankful that you're at least wearing pants." Implying that perhaps... one night previous, he may NOT have? "The activity in the foyer could have tripped your telepathy abilities and brought you here. We need to work on controlling that a bit more, I think."
    A hand lifts to rub at his brow as Alexia now hangs from wires, a soft sigh escaping his lips. "Please let her down, David." He instructs gently. "Alexia, for such a new student I am happy to see that you have ... settled ... so quickly." Charles had to think of a delicate way to put it, really. "Fortunately those support beams have been load tested to support someone of Hank's size and weight. But please be careful." His nose wrinkles.
    "I must say I am surprised to see so many up and about at this hour." He admits. "The days of students residing in their quarters until the morn are long gone, it seems."

David Akenda (207) has posed:
The Wires will let go after a few moments. Being composed of Psychic energy might attract the professor's attention as he looks up and says. "Sorry I couldn't resist Alexia." He says with a smile.

Turning to the Proffessor as he says. "I was intending to but being up able to sleep I decided to do some more studies. And I got a case of the munchies sir." David perhaps unlike most students does know the valuse of proper sleep as well. Growing up being educated in martial arts and such had a possitive impact on his routine. Pity it's not contagious.

Juggernaut has posed:
    "Real active place you got here, Charlie. You're losing your strictness. Don't these guys got a curfew or something?" rumbles a voice that Charles would find all to familiar but that to everyone else it might come more across like an earthquake deciding to speak or the boogeyman or..the Hulk with more intelligence but a sort of frat-boy bully under current to everything he says. You know the type. That smug 'you want to punch him in the face' cadence those types half.

You probably dont' want to punch this guy in the face though..

Practically filling up the foyer entrance, Cain Marko looms in view now while casting shadow over everyone else and swiveling his neck like the movements of a tank turret, to bear his ice blue eyes down on each of those present as if taking in their full measures with those quick glances. He last settles his gaze on the Professor, waiting for his response.

Eva (170) has posed:
"Hey, don't worry. I won't be out too long. Just long enough to do some initial investigation or to just deal with it if its something easy." She snickers, "My hunter friends did point out about the positives of a speedster hunter!" Eva laughs a little.

Eva's phone goes off. First a text. She quickly looks and then the phone rings. "Yes this Director Jett. Oh? Yeah They are mine is there a problem? They are some of my best agents. You're in good hands. Let me talk to Agent Venus?" She rolls her eyes. "Really, thats the name you went with? Geez. Oh! Thanks a bunch. I owe you one. Be safe out there." She hangs up and lets out a soft sigh.

"Okay good news. I don't have to go out tonight. Be right back." She takes off. A moment later she is back and dressed down for the evening. "Better. Sorry about the sneaking. I will have to learn to phase through walls." She looks over at David and smiles Just some signs I noticed. Its nothing to worry about."

Tendril has posed:
    There's a faint squeak as the wires vanish as Alexia starts to plummet, only to somehow perform one of those impossible cat in midair twists to land on their feet motions, coming down suprisingly lightly.

    She opens her mouth to say something, that may very well be sharp tongued..then the shadow falls over her and the deep voice and there's another squeak as she reflexively rolls AWAY, coming up in a crouch as she stares at Cain. "....holy crap, you're like....HUGE..." she says, looking up...and up.

Jacky Diamond has posed:
Jacky grins at the Professor, noticing the others here.

"I'm a little on edge from the vibes off all the animals, Professor. I just need to meditate more. What's this about a 'hunt' now?"

The young man looks at Eva. "Huh. The vibe was coming from you."

And then about that time a shudder runs up his spine and he reflexively turns to diamond form, because OH HELLO, that guy they used to warn us about in school five years ago. The diamond man pops to his feet between Marko and the younger, presumably still-in-training students.

Professor X has posed:
    "The munchies?" Charles clarifies to David with a wry smile. "Well, a good pint of mint icecream should certainly help you. And hopefully not keep you up until the cracks of dawn."
    Charles' wheelchair pivots on the spot as Cain makes his arrival. Just as Eva disappears up to get changed, actually! As a couple of the other students gawk at the behemoth, Xavier lifts a hand to introduce him. "Students, this is Cain Marko. Upon my invitation he is staying here for a few nights. I believe the term is 'walking through nostalgia'." Adjusting his wheels so that he faces the Juggernaut, he takes a short breath. "It's a different generation, Cain. A new era. Not to mention many more students. Hard curfews worked when it was just a handful. But those rules have long since been dropped." He turns to face the others.
    "...however, you are recommended to still be in your room after ten. Cravings of large servings of mint ice cream aside. How have you found the campus?" He queries to Marko, looking up at the titan. "Everything you remember it being?"

David Akenda (207) has posed:
The appearance of Cain has surprised him but not his approach. Somethings you are just aware of having been told of the details of Cain Marko he will step back. PArt of david's problem was the sleep schedule he learned from his time on the run. He'd get only a few hours rest each day, often staying up at night to move more freely. so forcing himself back into a normal Day night rotation is difficult but he's managing.

He looks down a little embaressed like a kid caught raiding the pantry he his. He seems to be more orless relaxed as he is reading of all things historyn of WWII and the atrocities of Nazism.

Eva (170) has posed:
Eva smiles as she looks around. A quick sound of air displacement is heard as she vanishes for a second. Then she is back with cookie dough ice cream. "Ahhh so much better. A pleasure to meet you Cain Marko. I'm Evangeline Wilde, Or just Eva." She turns her attention and focuses on Jacky. "I hunt supernatural things. Sometimes. And yeah I probably do cause a good bit of vibration. Comes with the whole speed thing." She snickers a little and darts to a wall and leans against it.

Juggernaut has posed:
    The behemoth's attention snaps over to Jacky as he takes on his diamond form. His huge fingers twitch slightly but end up drumming against the sides of his legs, lightly but impatiently. He holds his Jacky in his gaze and then suddenly gives a slow closed mouth smile that spreads broadly across his expressive features as Charles introduces him to the students and explains their activities. He inclines his head to the side, looking Alexia over as she stares at him and then he turns slightly to look down towards Charles in order to answer him.

"Yeah...just like I left it more or less." He then waves a hand in Jacky's direction, "..Including the folk always on edge around me." he looks fully at Jacky and notes, "I can break diamond you know. Relax." The giant then points at Charles, "He's got me on my best behavior... I'm a good ol, gold star student right now."

Jacky Diamond has posed:
Time is being jumbled up for Jacky. This is not unheard of - his gift manifests as short-term precog, random telepathy, random empathy, and hunches, most but not all of which are muted when he becomes living carbon crystal. Things sort themselves out in pieces, as he stands looking rather UP at the big fellow. The students are ... studenting, basically. The same stuff they did when he was at the earlier school, but they're more flagrant about it and he smiles wryly at the thought and looks up with that self-deprecating amusement on his face. Stays diamond, though.

"When I was a student here, you were used by one of the dorm monitors as a 'scare the kids' tactic, Mr. Marko. They didn't do a good job with your size and presence. You're much more intimidating than I thought you'd be."

He looks over at Eva. "That's possible. I usually pick up on mental vibes though."

Tendril has posed:
    Alexia watches CAin a little warily, her golden eyes reflexing the light oddly, before she straightens up, dusting herself off. Yup. Totally meant to do that. Still cool. Like a cucumber....who has no ice cream. Everyone seems to have ice cream now.

    And she's sensing just a teeeeeny bit of distrust on behalf of some of the people here for the big guy.

    She kind of drifts to the side, glancing between the two 'sides' a bit, then feels compelled to say. "...totally not on edge. Just didn't see you there." Which is hard to admit, because, he's all the way past fluffy and into 'daaaaaaaayum'. Possibly into godzilla noises territory.

Professor X has posed:
    "A change of plans, Evangeline?" Charles asks, watching Eva return to the group in some more casual attire. Then ... she has cookie dough ice cream! "...I don't know what it is, but I imagine our ice cream bill is obscenely high." He comments astutely, rubbing his chin in some thought.
    "Oh Cain, how I secretly wished and egged you on to receive at least /one/ gold star." He comments in a disheartened tone. As Jacky opts to remain in his diamond form, he nods a little. "Truthfully, there is likely not a standard monitor around that can accurately represent Cain's size. We did try our best with that."
    with a rolling shrug of his shoulders, the Professor suddenly yawns. Lifting a hand to wipe some moisture from his eyes, he shakes his head. "If you will all excuse me, but I believe I will retire for the evening. At least one of us here should set the example and be in bed at this hour, I think." Beginning to wheel away, he lifts a hand to wave.
    "Goodnight everyone. Please don't miss breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day." And just like that, he seems to be gone! Back into his quarters not far from the foyer.

David Akenda (207) has posed:
David will bow to those hear and head up stairs back to his room as people seem to be dispersing, and yes he most likely will be asleep come morning.

Juggernaut has posed:
    Ironic Alexia would think that as Cain sports the image of the King of Monsters on his well worn tee shirt. The kaiju stretched across his mammoth chest and likely a statement unto itself about what the brute thinks of himself. He watches Charles leave and then turns to answer Jacky. "No foolin? I suppose I should be proud of that, hmm? It's not easy being the biggest and the strongest."

With Charles gone, Cain sweeps his gaze over the remaining students and then begins to turn to take his leave as well. "See you kids around. Got a few more spots to check out before I step on out of here.."

Jacky Diamond has posed:
"Good night, Professor," Jacky says. He looks up at Cain, and grins again. "And I have to torture myself daily to build muscle."

He would love ice cream, if he were in flesh and blood form. He can still eat it while diamond but it looks funny pooling in his body.

Eva (170) has posed:
Eva smiles and nods, "Yeah. Had to play Director of the FBI." She looks at Jacky and smiles, "Don't try to pick up mental vibrations off me. It would drive ya bonkers!" She smiles and winks. "Well I guess I should head to bed too. Don't gotta be up after all!

Tendril has posed:
    The purple girl cannot help but feel this is ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE for Cain to have this shirt. Also, he went slightly up on the awesomeness meter for it. She waves to the Professor as he rolls off, then to Cain as he heads off as well. David gets a look. There will be retribution for wires. OH YES.

    "Um, sure. Nice..." nearly having a heart attack when you walked up behind me "...um, meeting you? See you around..." She seriously hopes she will next time, anyway."

    As Cain lumbers away, she peers over at the other two, sort of sidling up. Eyes on ice cream. But she doesn't quite want to interrupt. Wait, did she say she hunted ghosts earlier? And he's diamond. So cool. Especially with the ice cream.

    "Awww...it was just getting interesting..." she grumbles a bit. Bed. PAH! Sleeping is for mornings and early afternoon!

Jacky Diamond has posed:
"G'nite, Doctor," Jacky says, and starts to focus his will. He has to vanish. But he hears the plaintive cry of the latenight student.

"Sorry, Miss Nemo," Jacky says. "I have to open the vet clinic at 6am."

And he does vanish at that.
