Tinyplot: Digging Up The Past

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As the lunch time hours hit the studio, the number of persons in the building start to dwindle a bit as most head out to grab lunch. Larry, the first floor security guard, is peacefully keeping watch over the front entrance, leaving the alarms on the remaining doors to do their job. Gary, the second floor guard is making his rounds and is currently heading down the hallway, towards the top of the main staircase, putting his back to the offices behind him.

Nick is also not one of those people who have left. Situated in the second floor office of the studio owner, Wade Shaw, Nick is taking advantage of the futon chair inside and is relaxing on it. Legs resting to one side, feet angled to the door. Next to him an open folder with some paperwork sticking out. In Nick's hands, the remaing portion of the folder's contents are being looked through.

As for the owner of the building. He's currently out on a food run, grabbing some food for both him and the former roommate.

Punisher has posed:
The alarms? Nothing for a master hacker like Microchip. The fire escape is easily traversed as the Punisher casually scales up towards the second floor with it. There's no trenchcoat this time. Instead, he's opting for a stealthy command approach. He can't just infiltrate this building, but he /can/ knock out guards as he goes... and he needs the gear web to hold some equipment. It's a black bodysuit with a gear web over it. As usual, the skull on his vest is there, but at least his outfit is much easier to stealth with.

He takes a moment to allow Gary to have his back to the window, before he takes a customized window opener and starts snaking it through the small space between windows.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With no alarms to alert and Punisher having the utmost of caution to time it for the longest point Gary would have his eyes off the window, there's little resistance to Punisher's attempts to get the window. With little reason for alarm, the guard continues on his routine check of the area.

Being Nick has little reason to look out at the moment, he remains seated, still reading.

Punisher has posed:
A quick silent dash across the hallway to the room has the Punisher pressing up against the wall just next to the doorframe and 'sliding' across the wall until he's next to it, and taking out a surveillance scanner and just slightly turning it into the room, against the doorframe. With his other hand, a tranq pistol remains at the ready, in case Gary comes back.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Punisher quietly makes his way over, but not crossing into the bit of light that would filter through the open door of the office. Nick is left undisturbed as he continues with his paperwork. Business as usual.

What isn't usual though is the readings Punisher gets in the general area of the phone on Wade Shaw's desk.

Punisher has posed:
Slipping the scanner back into it's pouch, he pulls out a white noise generator, activates it, and strolls casually over to the phone, holding up a finger to his lips as he looks at Nick as he goes; the universal sign of quiet.

With the generator on the desk, The Punisher takes out a pinpoint scanner and brings it over the phone, trying to find the exact location of the bug.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Ever get the feeling something is seriously wrong? Well, when a shadow comes in, messing with the light coming from the hallway. That can help kick start the feeling. Combine that with someone entering the peripheral vision with an abnormal emphasis on doing it quietly. Well-

The hands on the papers lift, seemingly ready to throw them to the newcomer as the leg closest to the edge of the futon slides off, planting itself upon the floor. The other leg bends, getting the base of the foot pressed against the chair itself. It's an awkward position but less so than when the figure came in.

It's by then Nick registers the logo on the intruder's outfit as well as seeing the shushing movement. The paper holding arm lowers as he flashes Frank a look. Brow raised, mouth parted, and sitting quiet as he watches Frank move towards Wade's desk.

It takes a bit of looking but upon looking to the underside of the phone, there is a darkly button like device set into a crevice. The coloring helps blend it in with the dark base of the phone.

Punisher has posed:
Taking a noise canceller, he slips that over the bug and turns off the white noise generator. It'll make the bug sound just like nothing is happening in the office. "Bug in the phone, classic one." Punisher grunts, then he pouches the generator and turns to Nick. "Standard procedure for persons of interest. I can't afford to have them think I was here though, for obvious reasons."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Watching Punisher mess with Wade's phone, Nick stares to it. He mostly hears what Frank says...givng a slow nod. The musician sets the papers down on the futon and sits upright. A hand lifts, pinching the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. "Not even my office." He murmurs.

Complaint registered, he looks over to a wall clock before looking over towards Frank. "You probably have about ten minutes. Guards ok?"

Punisher has posed:
"I came in through the hallway window. They never saw me. I might have to tranq the man outside if he comes in, but I doubt it'll come to that." He reaches towards a pouch on his gear one -one of the larger ones- and pulls out a thin folder, placing it on the desk.

"Everything you need to know about your father up to now. His agency can go eat shit if they think they can throw away my work here." He shrugs, "I didn't extract him from their bullshit just for them to toss him into the ass end of nowhere... and people wonder why I lost faith in the government." Punisher comments.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick looks over to the folder on the desk, giving it a look of consideration. "Ass end of nowhere..." He repeats, considering the words, "So... still in hiding." He looks over to Frank, "He safe where he is?"

Punisher has posed:
"Less hiding, more out of the way." The Punisher corrects, "It amounts to the same thing though; you not being told where he is and him being out of the way... as for being safe... as safe as a man like him can be." He gestures to the folder. "That's all the relevant information. Microchip did a dig into their database and got the whole thing. Everything relevant to /you/ is in there. We kept the sensitive shit out so you won't get fucked by intel leaks."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Sensit-" Nick pauses, leaning forward to get up and cross the few feet to grab the folder off the desk. A thumb flicks under the cover for a moment but he hesitates. He backs over to the futon, sitting down before glancing up to the clock again. Lips thinning out in thought before he reaches down to tug out a bookbag. "...I'll read it when there's less chance of someone dropping in."

He starts to unzip the bag, pausing before he fully opens it as he reconsiders his actions. The bag is opened, revealing something long and wrapped in fabric. With deliberate movements the folder is placed in with the hands not going near the fabric before zipping the bag up again.

Punisher has posed:
"Good move. I can't guarantee eyes aren't keeping a watch on this place, but I don't think so. I checked the rooftops for that. Just seems like the bug." Punisher moves to one wall, then, in a practiced move, heads to a window. Taking some sort of device from a utility pouch, he brings it barely up to the windoe side, and a tube is brought out of it and near his eye, and a section of it splits apart and gives him a view of the outside. "Still nothing that I can see. Has anyone new been around lately?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"I was referring more to Wade coming back with our lunch." Nick replies, "His turn to grab the food. I'd rather he not get pulled into this mess. " He slides the bag back under the futon. "Wasn't even thinking about someone just ... hanging out to watch. Just- maintaining a normal routine."

As Punisher moves towards the window, the musician quietly watches the one man war against crime. "NEW new?" Nick asks, "Uh. Just the usual sea of musicians and filmers making use of the studios downstairs. Mostly career musicians, voice artists, actors, and technicians." He gives a slight shrug, "Nothing really of note around here. Any issues that pop up where I now live are ususally targeted towards the neighbors at the top so... not my problem with those. Security there is a bit higher..."

Punisher has posed:
"Shouldn't be a problem unless you poke your head into that then. Doing checks on everyone that comes in would be suspicious on your part." Punisher concludes, agreeing with Nick, "I don't like anyone being pulled into my war that isn't prepared to deal with the consequences of that. I have most of the world gunning for me, and even more from the bounties on my head." He looks to Nick with a side glance, "My lifestyle requires a commitment that most people aren't prepared for... and those who do try are usually far less skilled than I am. I usually have to take down copycats myself."

The device is put away, and he turns towards Nick fully, "How is your... roommate? Doing with all of this."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick considers the question. Tilting his head in thought. "Taking it in stride," He finally decides, "He thinks what happened at your visit's a one time fluke so... The condo that they blasted the hole through to get into his. Well, price of that place dropped so- he owns it now. Going to join the two together. I think he figures I'll end up moving back in whenever I'm done 'freaking out' over the matter."

Punisher has posed:
"That's sounds about right for someone taking advantage of the situation. I don't know him well enough to know if that's out of the norm for him. That's up to you." Punisher concludes.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"It's Wade being Wade." Nick replies, giving a half smile, "Of the four of us, he's probably the only one who never had to worry about money. Think his parents were business types. Seems it's rubbed off on him a bit. Everyone's got their own coping mechanisms. His tends to be making investments."

Punisher has posed:
There's a slight nod. "Sounds like just a bit of survellance then. Poke into it too much, and they may decide you're being too nosy. Normally, I'd say sue them for violation of privacy, but you don't seem the type for it." Punisher shrugs, heading back towards the entry door, and using a mirror to check out the hallway, "I'll be out of your hair shortly. If you see that Bucky fellow, tell him I said to watch his back. These people work like his old employers, far as I can tell."

With that, the Punisher heads back towards that window he came in through.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods, "Old employers?" He pauses, "...Okay. I'll be sure to let him know next time I see him."

Nick watches the doorway a bit longer as Punisher slips out. A glance is given to the bookbag strap peeking out from under the futon. A head shakes before he sits back down on the futon, picking back up the tour information he was perusing earlier. Wade should be back any moment now...
