A repeated moment
Date of Scene: 01 June 2021
Location: Danger Room - X-Men Base
Synopsis: Rogue gives Jeremy an additional prom moment.
Cast of Characters: Rogue, SpyderByte

Rogue has posed:
The message texted to Jeremy was simple. <Come to the Danger Room. Wear your tux. Don't ask questions.> And Rogue figured the man would comply, or maybe he'd go through a series of questions in his head - she wasn't entirely sure. What she was sure of, was that after a little bit of chaos and some possible missed moments, she wanted to do something special.

The Danger Room is often NOT used for something like this, but she knew nothing was planned for the room today and therefore slotted time to run something a lot different. Setting it up to look precisely like Club Evo looked the night of prom, a scattering of some not-so-familiar faces because no one else was going to be 'real' aside from herself and Jeremy. When the man arrives, he'll find Rogue just inside, all gussied up like she had been on prom night as well, down to the coating on her skin that lets people touch her with no consequence.

SpyderByte has posed:
Having texted back, << ??? I don't have one, I rented it, but I will put on pants and a shirt. >> Jeremy makes his way into the Danger Room with a pair of black pants and a black button down shirt, tucked in. His long hair is pulled back behind him into a pony tail and he looks curious.

As he spies Rogue, his brows lift upwards some, then grows a bit nervous as confusion riddles his face.

<< Hello. What type of scenario will this be? >>

Rogue has posed:
Rogue smiles and motions for him to step further in. "It's a scenario of two friends went to prom, and neither of them really got to dance much. One not at all, and another ... not really with them he wanted to dance with." She offers, and then "Run program." So that music starts to play - but more from a DJ and not a live band - before her eyes glance over to him. "To be honest, aside from maybe Beast...you were someone I wanted a dance with... if it ain't wrong of me to say."

SpyderByte has posed:
There is a slow blink from Jeremy's eyes at that. He looks surprised.

<< Why me? I would think everyone would want to dance with Ted, who has a peak physical frame, or Mister Worthington who is perfect. >>

Everyone has a crush on Warren. Everyone.

As he steps up to her, he offers up a small smile, listening to the music play.

<< How come you didn't dance at Prom? >>

Rogue has posed:
A color slightly tints those latex-covered cheeks as Jeremy questions her and then steps up to her side. Rogue just sort of looks away a moment. "I ain't really into those kinda things... I mean sure Ted an' Warren are hot but..." She shrugs. "It ain't always about looks Jer, and besides, you're hot. In some people's eyes."

"Also, you get me...in ways that not many people do. And I appreciate that." Then she walks further 'inside' the club, towards where the dance floor is a bit away. "And I didn't dance at prom cause I was caught up in a conversation with Hank, and then I was helping Rosie, and then I was talkin' to you but before I could say much they were callin' Prom Royalty and...I had to get back. This stuff I'm coated with don't last forever."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I don't know. I am starting to see that some people find me attractive, which is still an oddity for me, but I suppose it's nice. I do not think about it much. I don't see attraction in people, I just see people as people and I suppose I like them if they like me. >>

As he makes his way over to her, Jeremy offers up a small smile, then holds out his hands to her.

<< I can dance with you. It will be fun. Is everything okay? >>

He asks curiously as he tilts his head to one side.

Rogue has posed:
"I only don't believe that because you called me beautiful the other day, and I know you wouldn't say somethin' like that if you didn't mean it in some fashion." Rogue offers, taking Jeremy's hands as they're offered. "But I also get it. I think you're attractive, if it makes any difference."

As the music becomes some sort of medium paced dance rhythm, she sort of..waits. Mostly because she wants to ensure Jeremy's comfortable, so she'll let him lead. "Hmm? Yeah. Everything is fine. I guess. Why?"

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Well, yes, I do find you beautiful. I find most people to have desirable characteristics. I don't see people like.. most people do. I look at them like art. Maybe? I have tried to explain myself to Rosie and Gray that I do not have normal hormones like most teenagers do. I don't look at people and think that they are sexually attractive. I see you as having symmetrical eyes, pleasant lips, an even skin tone, unique hair coloring and you have an excellent muscle to bone ratio. You are mathematically attractive. >>

Jeremy's hands slide into hers, allowing her to take the lead in this dance. He is always the follower in situations like this. A social snail.

<< I was only curious. I suppose I am not used to people summoning me to the Danger Room for a dance. I just figured maybe you had something on your mind and was looking to talk to someone and was using this as an excuse. Not that I mind. I could use a break from work and I am here to listen. >>

Rogue has posed:
Rogue actually lets out a laugh and then nods her head. "Coming from you, I'll definitely take it. But that's another thing that draws me to you I think. Like when you said I'd of been the perfect girlfriend...because we'd just talk about stuff and it'd be less physical and more emotional or just...being simple partners to each other." Or at least, that was the best way Rogue could explain it.

"Most people wouldn't summon someone to the Danger Room for a dance. I just thought..." She falters a bit then, and still somehow manages to lead him into a dance on the floor that's got a little sway rhythm but they can still talk. "I don't know. You seemed a little down at the prom...and I didn't get a dance. Hell, I didn't even get my own prom when I was younger cause by then I was already a run away gettin' into trouble. And it always seems like work around here... a little change of pace isn't so bad."

SpyderByte has posed:
As he moves with her, Jeremy sways back and forth slowly, shuffling on awkward feet. Even though he got a few dances in at the Prom, they were awkward and bird like. He doesn't have rhythm, but he at least makes a courageous attempt.

<< I think the perfect girlfriend is three billion lines of code that can rapidly and predictively have a conversation with me. Like, hyper A.I. >>

Jeremy gives her a smile, followed by a small giggle.

<< That way the conversation is always pleasant and I won't ever feel uncomfortable or socially awkard and afraid to offend someone. Maybe I can codify a girlfriend for myself and input it into a smart device I can carry around with me. >>

Rogue has posed:
Rogue chuckles, not even caring about the awkward bird like ungraceful motions. She's definitely more into the conversation, and technically moving to music is dancing. No one ever said HOW one has to move to the music.

"I can see you doing that and no one who knows you would even bat an eye at it or wonder why. From what we've talked about and even what you've said earlier, I know you wouldn't miss the physical aspect."

The music changes to something slower, as it does a few times at proms, and Rogue smiles. "Here..." She places his hands on her upper hips and then wraps her arms around his neck, leading him in a slow swaying circle. "I would wonder if you'd miss talking to a person every now and again though..."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I can talk to people online, or on the phone. >>

Jeremy says pragmatically as he sways with her. When his hands are re-adjusted, he finds his cheeks flushing brightly, fingers curling in a bit for a moment.

<< But having Gray and Rosie around is nice. It does help me warm up to the idea of being with someone physically. Even if we just spend most of our time watching videos and talking on the couch. >>

Rogue has posed:
"Well. You're doing everything right. Taking it slow, finding out what works and what don't. I don't quite understand the similarties between talkin' to someone online or in person. I guess I'd more like to see facial expressions along with hearing tones." Rogue confesses and then smiles. She moves one hand to boop a finger onto Jer's nose. Mostly because she can, for now, with no consequence.

"See now that sounds nice. Just relaxing and enjoying time together. Talking a little likely but mostly just hanging out. I envy you that." A soft chuckle then. "Thanks for coming down, by the way, I was almost afraid you wouldn't..."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I needed a break from the computer and I think Rosie and Gray are out on a date, so I am happy to shift my attention somewhere else. I could use the practice on dancing. I don't know when I will again, but I should try. >>

Jeremy says with a nod of his head as the speakers on his phone bleep out from his shoulder holster.

<< Thank you for hanging out with me. I am going to miss everyone when I move out in a few months. I will still visit but it will feel weird not being here day to day. >>

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shifts back so she can look directly as Jeremy's gaze while she smiles. "Well, s'long as you ain't a stranger. Maybe we can all get together in Mutant Town or something." Then she chuckles, "And I don't mind trying to teach ya how to dance while you're still here or even after you leave. You - ah - have an internship with Stark Industries yeah? You keep workin' for Tony, you might need to know how to dance. Or learn how to tell him you don't wanna be social."

She pauses a moment and then shifts to rest her forehead on Jer's shoulder. At least there's no transference of latex. "He can be known to throw parties, sometimes onna whim." Then she breathes, and she sighs. There's a bit on her mind, but she's not coming clean with it. Just enjoying the moment for what it is.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I don't think I will be invited to parties. I am going to be a low level drone on an internship. As long as I produce good work, I will most likely be ignored, which is suitable for someone of my skill-set. Blackhats thrive in an environment in which they are overlooked. >>

Jeremy's arms curl around her a bit more as her head rests against his shoulder. He is stiff in his movements back and forth, haven't learned to relax his posture yet. He's like a circling toothpick.
