Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Willow Rosenberg

Wonder Woman has posed:
There had been an invitation sent to Willow requesting for her to come to the Embassy when she was available to do so. The note mentioned that there was no rush for her appearance but that any time would be good and suitable. For tea and a chat.

It's the middle of the afternoon, and the weather is fair -- no sign of rain, a blue sky with some white clouds drifting by. While Diana waited to either hear word back in regards to the invitation or for Willow to take her up on the offer, she waited in her office. The door of the office was open, and Diana sits in the chair behind her desk. It's positioned so that she can look out the window and to the grounds beyond.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow managed to get the afternoon off - well, half of the afternoon off. So instead of deking home, or going to the park, she made her way to the Embassy. She picked a bunch of daisies on the way there, putting one blossom behind her ear.

There! She was ready.

At the Embassy, she waited. "Excuse me? I think I got an appointment?" Well, she does, just 'when' is the question.

Wonder Woman has posed:
A security guard meets Willow, and as he had been advised that her appearance was likely to occur, he gives a nod to her. Then he gestures towards Diana's office. "Of course. The Princess is expecting you. You can go right through to her office," he says with a smile.

Diana was aware of Willow's arrival even before she'd been approached by the guard. She shifts her weight, rising smoothly from her seat in order to cross over towards the open doorway of her office. She looks across the lobby of the Embassy, watching, and doing naught other than simply waiting, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips whilst she does.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow walks over to what she guesses is Diana's Office, and smiles when she guesses right.

"I've never gone to an Embassy before. Let alone a Princess!" She giggles. "Don't you find it a bit tedious to always be on your best behavior all the time? Oh! I picked these in the fields over there." She waves where she thinks it was. "Just daisies. Nothing special, but I thought you might like them."

Wonder Woman has posed:
A smile easily comes to her features as Willow approaches and Diana inclines her head towards the redheaded woman. She steps aside from the doorway, and then she lifts her left hand to gesture towards the office interior. "Ah, well... I will have to give you a tour of it, at some point," Diana says, her smile returning.

Her smile brightens at the daisies, which she reaches out to accept, and there's a warm sparkle that comes to her blue eyes. "Thank you, Willow. They're lovely!" she says sincerely. To her assistant, she says, "A vase of water, if you please, and a fresh pot of boiling water for tea." She reaches out to nudge the door to her office the rest of the way open. "It can be tedious, by times. It does afford a certain amount of freedom for my other work," she comments, giving a soft chuckle. Freedom, and resources to be able to use when she needs.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Well, I thought you really didn't need anything," Willow begins as she enters the office. "And then I wondered what did you not have. They really didn't cost me anything except the time it took to gather them. And besides, they're really summer. We all could use some summer."

She takes a seat, and makes sure her blossom is still in her hair.

"Why did you call upon me? It's been over a year since you were rescued. By the way, everything is okay with you?" Now she frowns.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"That you took the time to gather them for me makes them special," Diana says in a soft tone. "It makes them a very thoughtful gift. It is not what is spent on something that gives it worth, that gives it value. And you are right, we all could use a bit of summer to brighten our day, to remind us that the time ought be taken to smell the flowers along the say," she says, a smile coming to her features.

As the assistant arrives with a vase of water, Diana takes a moment to accept it from her before stepping into her office as well. She retrieves one of the daisies from the bunch, slips the rest of them into the vase before placing the vase on her desk. Then she tucks the one she'd reserved into her hair. She mostly closes the office door, then steps over to the chair behind her desk and settles to it before crossing her legs at the knee. "I understand that there was a gentleman for whom you wrote a note, some little while ago," Diana begins, one of her eyebrows nudging up a touch.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
At first Willow smiles, and ducks her head. "I snuck one for me."

Evidently.

But then she is reminded of Xiang. "Oh! Yes! I didn't want anyone to know how I knew you, but I was hoping you would have the wherewithal to put it all together. I'm afraid it didn't work. But I'm confused, how did you find out about it? The man at the door didn't let Tali in to speak with Xiang. Not even with the note."

Wonder Woman has posed:
There's a soft chuckle as Diana nods at that, and a warm smile to come to her features. "I noticed, and I like it," she says. It does look pretty in Willow's hair, after all.

"I appreciate that, Willow. I have known Xiang Zhao for some little while, now," Diana says in a thoughtful tone. "It was not your fault that it did not work. You did all that you could do in order for it to work. Sometimes, Fate has its own hand to play," she muses, her brow furrowing for a brief moment. Had things been meant to play out as they had? "The man who was at the door that day, it would seem, took his own interpretation of my instructions. I had indicated to the staff that Zhao was a guest here, and that he had requested not to be disturbed as he was in meditation. Zhao told me of the note, after the fact," Diana says, her brow wrinkling slightly. "I did not even meet with Tali to be able to see the note. He was turned away at the door, and I was left unknowing of it until Zhao spoke of it. I would have let him in and explained to him, had I known. I bid Zhao to bear him my apologies for what he experienced here. And I wished to also apologize to you. It was a very sound idea, and through no fault of your own was it unable to be successful," Diana says softly.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"They do not know why I know you. I figured it's your business to let people know." Not like nobody doesn't know Diana Prince is Wonder Woman. "Come to think of it, I guess my identity is really at stake."

Well she's Willow everywhere. Just she doesn't talk about the fact she has helped the Justice League.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The fact that she is Wonder Woman is not a secret that she's even attempted to have. It's always been an open fact. Although that doesn't mean that everyone knows who she is. There's a smile that comes to her features, and she gives a small shake of her head. "I did not tell Zhao how I know you, simply that I did," Diana says, giving a small nod.

"It would seem that the Fates had their own threads to spin out in what was to pass between Zhao and Tali. They were reunited, and as I understand it, Zhao was able to save and rescue Tali. I recall seeing on the news about a snow leopard being about, and the footage of him being struck by a car," Diana says, giving a small shake of her head.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow nods. "Perhaps it was made so they could see how empty their lives would be without the other, despite their misgivings to the contrary. They have been back but I haven't had much time to speak with them."

"Thank you for informing me."

Wonder Woman has posed:
"Perhaps it was," Diana says, a thoughtful tone to her voice. "The Fates are oft gifted with a different view of things than what we are afforded in any given moment. It would be a challenging thing to attempt to guess at their motives and reasons," she says, a smile touching at the corners of her lips.

"It was a little while ago when I spoke with Zhao. He had come to let me know that he was alright, and to collect his things that had been here," she says, giving a small nod. "You had a right to know what became of things. And you had a right to know that your plan was solid and good. It was the human element which was the unpredictable one and where things went awry."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Often the human element fails us. It's what makes us human, and vulnerable, and makes us so amazing. After all, it would be easier to go with the flow. And yet, people are trying to stand up for what is right, despite the hardship. It's amazing when you think about it." Willow shakes head as she thinks on it.

Wonder Woman has posed:
"No one is perfect, not even those who are not human," Diana says, a smile quirking at the corners of her lips. She's made mistakes before and had to live with them, learn from them. "There are many things which make humans amazing. To go with the flow is the easy choice, the easy option. To stand up for what is right and to stand up for those who need protecting is the harder choice," she adds, giving a small nod.

She rises smoothly, then gestures for Willow to do the same. "Come, I will take you for a tour. When we have finished then we can have lunch and tea, if you wish," she offers with a warm smile.
