Every once in a while, it was nice to have some home-cooked food. Alfred may have the better culinary education, but Caroline Beacon had a way with food.
Which is why there is a delicious ratatouille of home-grown vegetables and home-made sauce.
"SO! Phoebe tells me that you finally convinced her to leave the coffee shop and take a job with you at Wayne Tech! That's exciting!" she states, settling down at the table. Phoebe is grabbing salad bowls and makes a face behind her mom's face.

Tim Drake nods a bit and says "It was about like pulling teeth, but yea, she has skills and I think she should put them to use. Working with us and keeping me in line helps out quite a bit. I mean even before she started working for the company she was helping with things, so might as well get paid for it if she is goign to do the work
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Because I wanted to get a job on my own merrit, not on someone else's name." Phoebe points out before she sits down, doling out salad mix and cherry tomatoes. "It doesn't sit right that the only reason I get to be Tim's Assistant is because Tim hired me!" she states, and she hands out the salad plates.
"Well, I think it's wonderful. You two are so sweet together and work out so well together --" she gives a bright smile.

Tim Drake looks over to her and says "The only part of being Tim Drake's girl friend that influenced your getting the job is that I know you can do the job already." He offers in retort but does smile at her, a debate they may have had many times? "What have you been up to of late Miss Beacon.?" He asks her
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Nyeeh." Phoebe sticks her tongue out at Tim. It's a common debate, and Phoebe is somewhat concerned about how people like Chelsea were going to treat Tim -- or her own place in high society that she'd have to be a part of!
"Oh please, Timmy, call me Carol. Well, wrapping up the school year, kids are out of school for summer until next week. I was thinking maybe I might try doing a little traveling this summer, it's not every year you turn the *dreaded* forty five, you know."
- Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and smiles a bit and says "Well from what everyone says forty five is like twenty five , twenty years ago." He offers with a smile, and says "Where you thinking about traveling, I may know some places you would find interesting.
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Ah, yes...well.. it's not like Gotham Public School teachers --" she trails off, looking embarrassed before she takes adeep breath. "Oh, I was considering a couple of daytrips. Maybe a weekend in the Great Lakes, brush up on immigration policy in New York City -- you know, that sort of thing..." she trails off, and Phoebe frowns into her eggplant and squash.
"... you've always wanted to see Hadrian's Wall."

Tim Drake looks to Phoebe, and then to Carol. "How about you let me and Phoebe plan a week or three of your vacation as a birthday present from us to you?" He offers between bites. "And I do remember someone telling Phoebe, that she should take the opportunity to see places in the world when I wanted to take her with me."
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"That's entirely different. You two are young and don't have any real responsibilities yet. Me? I've got lesson plans, fundraising, recertification, I can't just jet away to another country like the two of you do." she gives a wise little smile.
"Phoebe told me that's what happens between schooling, you end up traveling and you teach her how to do dangerous things like ride motorcycles."

Tim Drake grins a bit and says "But it will be summer, you have some time off yourself, you just admitted to it." He smiles back at her, and reaches to take Phoebe's hand "I make sure she is safe, but do try to get her to try new things, and she gets me to as well." He smiles and says "And we can even make sure your trip is related to teaching places you will teach about, you would know more about them.
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Mom, I know how to forge your signature and I can get you a passport. Just..." Phoebe steps in, setting her fork down.
"... you deserve to take some time and take care of yourself. You've always put me or the kids at school first. You need some time to be *you*." and then she motions to Tim. "And if I don't do it, he will. Trust me. He's a rapscallian. Perfectly troublesome."

Tim Drake chuckles softly, and says "Me? I am sweet and innocent." He grins at this. "Seriously though we can give you a trip that will show you castles, ruins, and all the other fun things you want to see. Tell us honestly where have you always wanted to visit?
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Yeah-huh. So innocent." Caroline states in amusement, but then considers, tapping her chin a moment.
"All right. Three weeks in the UK. I've always had a fascination with Scottish independence. Might be worth the trip to see that pesky Roman wall that tried to keep our -- er -- my ancestors out."
Caroline steeples her fingers.
"On the condition that you two join me for at least a long weekend in the countryside. No electronics."
- Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and says "How about no electronics, except emergency phone, and cameras. I mean if we are out and about we will want to take pictures I am sure." He offers in compromise.
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"... all right. I suppose your phone works everywhere, fancy do-dads and needing to be in touch at work." Caroline gives a smile, and she gives a nod.
"We have a deal then, Mr. Drake. BUT I am treating you two to dinner while we're there. I have a friend who lives out that way."
- Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake chuckles and nods his head a bit to this and says sounds like a plan." He looks over to Phoebe and offers her a smile.
- Sparrowhawk has posed:
"I don't like it when you two plot. It makes me feel like I have to call the police." Phoebe replies wryly, but she gives a smile to Tim.
"Good, then I'll have my people talk to your people and we can get everything arranged. I'll fly economy provided they have a vegan meal on the flight."
"Ohmigod, Mom... Tim literally makes in a few hours what you make in a year. Let us spoil you."

Tim Drake looks to her and holds up his right hand and says "I promise to make sure have one of the cheapest seats on the plan you travel on if that makes you feel better." He is smirking a bit he can't help it.
