Star-Lord has posed:
It's been a while since Peter was at the Tower. No doubt doing things out in the galaxy, with his profession and being a leader himself. But what really comes out of the blue is a sort of makeshift distress signal to the subspace receiver that Star-Lord left with Kara in confidence.

"Sector 5778, 789, 4798, 122. Urgent assistance'

It's not quite a distress call, but it's close enough.... and it's in deep, DEEEEP space. Literal middle of nowhere space. If a point in the galaxy could be said to be the ass end of nowhere... this is it.

When Kara arrived... the Milano is full of holes, leaking atmosphere, and in so many ways an utter wreck.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl was always on the alert for distress signals, and even though she largely operated out of earth, through her shifts at the watchtower, Supergirl would regularly keep an eye out for potential threats beyond earth. So naturally she was the one to intercept distress signal..Although she was rather surprised to discover it was in the middle of seemingly nowhere.

With no available spaceship on hand at the moment, Supergirl planned to fly out there on her own. She was quite capable o surviving in space for along while, nod if needed, could call for backup once she had assessed the situation.

When she arrives upon the ruined ship, her eyes widen. "What happened?" she darts around, looking for survivors.

Star-Lord has posed:
There are survivors. Sort of. Coming in through the opened airlock to the bridge, Supergirl will find a casually outfitted Star-Lord, that miracle technology helmet he uses worn as he works on a busted console. "I was wondering if that signal got through. Everything aronud here got hit hard. Me and Rocket are both working overtime on this stuff."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl blinks slowly as she peers around. And she is rather relieved to see that there are survivors..And a familiar face no less! "Mr. Quill! What happened?" she takes a look at the busted equipment, but she's not particularly technologically adept. "So, how can I help?"

Star-Lord has posed:
"Star-Lord." He gently corrects, "The Brood and Shi'ar happened." He continues as he works on the console for a moment, before he stands looking at Supergirl with those red lenses. He takes off his gloves, exposing his actual hands to vacuum with only a slight discoloration to them, and places them on the console. "We were investigating a cruiser with a distress signal. It was an ambush set by some Brood cruisers and our ship got boarded. We tore it apart dealing with the drones."

He crosses his arms and turns to look at Supergirl, "We were lucky to get away at all. Rocket had to pump an unregulated supercharge into the power grid to counter an EMP, and it severely damaged us." He gestures to yet another broken console, "I was hoping to have that online before you got here. If you follow my instructions, I should be able to get it running within an hour. There's something you need to see."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl nods slowly at the name correction, her frown depending with every passing second. "The Brood..And Shi'ar? Good grief.." she had of course let the Titans know where she was headed and with some luck, Kory will be able to join them soon in her own starship. Until then..

She sighs as she examines the console, careful not to touch anything for fear of making things worse. "Alright, tell me what to do, I let the Titans know where I am. If need be, they can come pick up your crew.." she arches a curious brow at that last bit. "Err, what would that be?"

Star-Lord has posed:
After an hour and some change, with Rocket nowhere to be found yet (fixing an engine after you've overloaded it takes time) the console finally begins to run on backup power. Then, he presses a button on another console, and the atmosphere on the bridge pressurizes as the bulkhead on the bridge slams down. Within moments, the bridge is back to optimal range for lifeforms, and Peter thumbs off his helmet, revealing a smile, "This."

He hits a button on the console, and an SOS from a Legion transport, followed by coordinates, pops up, "This was the last transmission we received on our way out from the system. By all indications, Prince Charming is currently a Brood incubator... and with most of our team scattered for right now, I'm gonna need help to get him out."

By Prince Charming, he means Lar. Lar has been taken by Brood.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl is happy to help, whatever way she can. And once things are at least somewhat back to normal, it's time to focus on other problems. Of course, she wasn't quite expecting to hear that. "Waait a second, are you saying Lar got infected by the brood?" oh dear..Her eyes widen in alarm, a hundred thoughts going through her mind right now.

"Okay..How far away is this? I'll get the Titans on this. Is this ship fit to move? I'm not sure when Starfire and her ship will be available. Otherwise it may take a couple days to get the Titans out here."

Star-Lord has posed:
"I don't know what happened. His transport sent this transmission. This wasn't too long ago, but we had to get out of system due to Brood cruisers. On top of that, the system is right next to a Skrull Kree warzone. We need a little while to get the Milano ready to go again."

He sits down on the chair in front of the comm console with a flop, "We also have a bit more of a serious situation. Brood are coming out of their territory in larger than usual numbers. Raids usually aren't more than a couple frigates... this was two cruisers."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl nods and hmms, trying to think. "Okay..I'll alert the Justice League too, although many of them are scattered around the world on other missions right now. Are you safe in your current position? I can at least try and give you a boost, move your ship to a safer spot until you can get it up and running again?" from the sounds of it, Brood might still find them, even out here. They're pretty much sitting ducks.

Star-Lord has posed:
"I made sure we weren't followed... and the drones that got on board left. I didn't see what happened, but I assume they got distracted." Star-Lord shrugs, "As is, if you want to drag us somewhere else, I'd be fine with it if Rocket signs off on it. He's got a lot of work to do on the engines. I've been doing electricals."
