A few little big problems
Date of Scene: 11 June 2021
Location: Living Quarters, Titans Tower
Synopsis: The Titans have a meeting on current issues. Plans are made.
Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Red Robin, Superboy, Captain Boomerang, Sentinel (Dallas), Oracle

Supergirl has posed:
It's been a while since the Titans had any proper meetings, but Supergirl is determined to change that. Starting with today. She's done her best to tidy up the living room, clearing the mig central table on which she has laid out a map of the stars, and has a little white board set up.

"Okay guys, I know this is kinda last minute, but I have a number of important things to address.." of course she is waiting patiently (or trying to) for Titans and allies to trickle in.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake is actually there pretty early he tries to make sure he supports SG. He has had to run these meetings in the past, and is there to help if she needs it.

Superboy has posed:
Conner 'trickles in' with an eye on his cellphone, some typing going. "Hey guys," he glances up, pocketing the phone. "It is okay, I am pretty much moving in here until I find a job that allows me rent a place in the city. Ugh... internships. It is like legalized slavery." He sights, flopping down on a chair. "Nevermind me, what is the plan?"

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen Mercer was not a member of the Titans, but he sure did seem to spend a lot of time hanging out at the Tower, such as he was now. He had helped with the tidying up of the living room, although there was that brief two hour period where the Titans television was dominated by a soccer match... that Australia had nothing to do with. A few people had asked him why Italy and Turkey was so important. He had explained, in great detail, but they still didn't understand. Although the opening musical act with Andrea Bocelli singing Nessum Dorma was lovely.

He was in the kitchen making snacks right now, which meant he had borrowed somebody's apron. It was pink, with hello kitty on it. He had turned it over, and it was pink there too. So naturally, he folded the front down, wrapped it around his waist, and made it work. He was currently chopping peppers, his hand seemingly moving faster than the eye could see. The oven smelt of freshly baked bread, and he was working on the chilli to go with it.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Imagine if you will, the Black Widow. The lithe athletic body, the skin tight catsuit, the long flowing red hair... And now imagine it on a Capuchin Monkey. Austin meanwhile in his typical well worn Gotham Knights hoodie rushes in as fast as he can, much to Tina's distress. He got the message to be at a meeting at Titan's tower with the rest of the team. "The rset of the Team, that means I'm in right? That totally means I'm in..." He grins, as the monkey wraps her long tail around his arm and chirps in frustration. "No I won't slow down." He answers absently, running through the front doors of the tower at top speed... you know for a normal person.

Oracle has posed:
Barbara Gordon is not a common sight around Titans Tower, but she has been known to make an appearance when the situation required it. Coming along with Tim, she offered a nod and quiet greetings to the rest of the members present as the gathering forms up and the meeting begins. She takes a seat and remains otherwise quiet, listening to the conversation.

Supergirl has posed:
Okaaay..So this Titans meeting in the living room, where some are trickling in right under the line, or cooking chilli the kitchen in a pink Hello Kitty apron, is a far cry from the super formal badass JLA meetings in their round table and designated labelled chairs at the tower war room...But it'll do.

Correction. It had better do. Cuz there's a lot of ground to cover, and a lot of important matters to discuss. With Justice League currently indisposed, the Titans will have to do.

Supergirl has absolute faith in them. She waits for all those gathered to settle in (minus Boomer who offered to cook dinner and join in later) and as her gaze sweeps around the gathered, she makes a number of mental calculations.

"Hey everyone, thanks for coming. So let's start with introductions. For those who have not yet met him, please welcome our newest member, Sentinel. He possesses numerous super senses that may come in handy on missions of subterfuge. He is also skilled in combat and has a very intelligent and skilled monkey companion." she nods to Austin, "Thanks for joining us, Sentinel."

She writes down Sentinel's name on the white board. "Moving on..I have requested assistance from Batgirl and Red Robin in researching and tracking down the mysterious black hoodie guy who has been negatively influencing various metas, causing them to act our in paranoid, dangerous ways. Robin, have you discovered anything new on this guy?"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will open his wrist computer and with a bit of typing a picture will come up "Robert Turner." He informs the group who it is. 3.0 GPA, would be higher but you van tell there are classes he does not care about. He seems very intelligence. He has had a few run ins with the law, but nothing that got him time. His father was Valis, claimed his powers were magical, but no proof on that from the father, powers seemed more chaotic as if he did not have much control of them. Real name George Turner, George killed his wife, Robert's mom, but got put in a psychiatric hospital, instead of prison on an insanity plea. Robert did not take it well, went on a danger spree, racking up counts from B&E to Assault with a deadly weapon. With looking into him, seems Robert dove into the occult side of things, and looks like he may have learned a bit of magic and blended it with some abilities he learned from his dad. " He brings up a picture from the latest assault. "Police have tried to get him, but he has been really doing well avoiding them. I have been doing a bit of research with Batgirl's help and seems we have found a few Chatrooms he frequents, we are monitoring.

Superboy has posed:
"Black Hoodie Guy? Can't we have a better codename for him?" Grumbles Conner. "Hey, man," he adds for Austin (and Tina), recognizing them from their chat in Central Park last week.

"So his powers are making kids angry?" That is not very impressive, to be honest. It is the picking on super-kids that seems to make Turner really nasty. "How does he manage to find his victims? Any clue there?"

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Boomer could see and hear every word. There was a bit of a distraction from cooking, stirring the pot, preparing the ingredients, and the noise of a kitchen, but he was listening to everything that Supergirl, or anyone, had to say to the group. The only thing he might miss would be whispers between those gathered.

Captain Boomerang had come in uniform, but while cooking, he took his jacket off, with the boomerangs still stuck in the pockets. It was hanging on the back of a chair in the dining room area. It was an open plan, so he could see the table, the kitchen, and the living room, all from his place behind the island countertop.

Robin had a lot to say about the man. And Owen was listening to it for so long that he almost let some of the chilli burn in the pot, but he turned the temperature down, stirred like hell, and managed to recover it. He would add a few more ingredients, and stir, all while dividing his attention between the food, and the talk in the living room area.

Asking a question, he has to call out across the room, loudly from his perspective, but by the time it reached most of the group, it was clear, but not too bad. "Any idea on why he keeps targeting kids?" Owen had had more than a few run ins with the guy, even holding him briefly as he tried to grapple the man. "Or a way to negate that teleporting ability? Hard to pin down a guy who can just blink away."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas for his part understands he is the new guy, and the new guy can usually learn the most by keeping silent, listening and asking questions later. So When Supergirl introduces him, he waves to everyone saying a simply "Uhh, hi guys." And trying not to smile like an idiot. He's smiling like an idiot. When Conner waves to them, he nods slightly in acknowledgement... And Tina blows Superboy a kiss. Someone has an admirer at least.

Oracle has posed:
Barbara Gordon listens as Red Robin relates the initial information on their target. She nods to the various points shared. Idly brushing her hair back behind her right ear, she nods to the questions from Conner and Boomerang. She speaks up, "There is circumstantial evidence to give us reason to believe that Turner's ability to teleport are related to magical talismans or items he has in his posession rather than powers of his own. These items seem to also provide him a sort of force field and force blast effect. It'll bear further investigation however." She looks to Conner, "Yes, we believe his powers do involve invoking all manner of emotions, an Empathic ability. It will require a measure of preparation and defense to go up against him. I'd suggest reachin out to Zatanna, honestly." She glances around the group, "Unless Raven is back?"

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl hmms, "I have not seen or heard from Raven in some time, nor Zatanna. But I'll keep my feelers out for both. Thank you, Batgirl." she looks to Robin, "That's good to know, but Superboy has a point. I suggest that you and Batgirl continue to monitor his activity on this chat room, see if you can find any hints as to where he may strike next. Also.."

She looks to Tim thoughtfully, "Hey Robin, do you still have that lighter? It would be a good idea to give it to Sentinel so he can get his scent, track him down if possible. It would be a good way to find him more quickly next time. I don't know why he targets kids specifically, but I suspect it has something to do with kids being typically more vulnerable, physically and emotionally. Younger minds are more malleable than more mature minds."

She writes some notes down on the board, particularly saying things like Batgirl + Robin: infiltrate chat rooms. Sentinel: Get familiar with Black hoodie guy'a scent. "How about we just call Black hoodie guy Vangelis, after his dad? Seems there is no lost love there, he probably feels hatred towards other metas, who knows? we'll find out more after Robin and Batgirl infiltrate the chat room."

On to the next point of concern. "Sooo. Some of you may be aware of a mysterious armoured guy.." she pulls a photograph of a guy, in green and purple armour, face obscured by a helmet. He's hovering in the air and looks more like a robot or cyborg than an armoured knight.

"Last time we ran into him, he..Attacked me with some sort kryptonite needle. Injected something into my system. After some tests were run on my body, it looks like some sort of metallic substance entered my bloodstream and is currently concentrated around my spinal column. No one is yet certain of the effects and it's likely my body will simply reject these foreign substances. Side effects are uncertain as of yet, but..I've been feeling a bit..Stiff..Lately? I'm sure it's of little concern, however, I want you all to be extra vigilant, especially you, Superboy. He seems to have a special interest in kryptonians."

Of course Conner isn't fully kryptonians, but he possesses some of their weaknesses.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks over and says "I will bring it by the tower later this evening, I am not sure how much of his scent will still be on it from the tests, but we can try it. At the second part of this, he looks over Kara, and says "If possible, I would like to see your tests, a blood born toxin was what gave Superman some issues abit ago. Want to make sure it is not something based on that.

Superboy has posed:
Conner looks only mildly interested at the whole business with Black Hoodie guy with the power of anger children. "We could make a list of likely targets. There can't be too many powerful super-humans he can anger for... whatever he is trying to do, right?"

He is not as blase when Kara mentions getting poisoned and the armoured man with Kryptonite. That is bad news, " he attacked Superman once," he mentions. "Who is able to build that kind of thing? Brainiac?"

Captain Boomerang has posed:
As everything came together, Owen began making out tent cards, just folded pieces of paper with written notes. He used a sharpie to write them. A lot of the dishes were prepared in advance, while others had to be timed just right. He had also been cleaning up as he went about it, so the kitchen wasn't the disaster that it could have been.

Soon, he would turn everything off, and set it all up. He was doing it buffet style, so people could pick what they wanted. There was a stack of plates on one end, where people would start. There was some freshly made salad, coleslaw, rice, French fries, both plain salted, and seasoned curly, cheesy potato skins, and towards the end, individual bread bowls to pour the chilli into.

There were also five varieties of chilli, labelled 'American', 'Medium', 'Australian', 'Hellfire', and 'Why Rao, Why?'. There was even a little skull and crossbones poison symbol next to the Why Rao, Why? one, as well as a small stack of cards with a map and directions to the milk in the fridge. It seems that Owen felt he could go up against Green Arrow's infamous chilli. There were a few drinks ready, again, helping yourself, at the end, napkins, and utensils.

Waiting for an appropriate break in the conversation, Owen would fold the pink apron up that he had been rocking, setting it on a counter away from the, "sorry to interrupt folks, but dinner is served." Team building was as much about information gathering and teamwork, as it was socializing and becoming at ease with one another. Between Supergirl and the on load from the Outsiders Captain Boomerang, they had both.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas nods slightly, though he doesn't look too optimistic. "Yeah if you ran a bunch of tests on it, it's gonna degrade any scent that was on it. Not to mention anybody that handled it is going to leave their own array of scents. I'll be happy to try but I can't make /any/ promises." At the sound of the call to dinner, he hesitates, after all not wanting to be the first, or last, one to jump up. New guy jitters still in full effect...

Oracle has posed:
Barbara Gordon nods to Kara regarding Raven being away still, and the mystery where-abouts of Zatanna. "I now Zatanna has been touring. I will see if I can reach out to her. We're going to need some sort of arcane assistance with Turner." No she isn't going to legitimize him by giving a codename. She looks to the food as Boomerang sets it all out. "It all smells good.. and terrifying at the same time" she observes at the hints of death and burning that linger in the air amidst the aroma of flavorful chili.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl nods to Robin, "Of course. The med lab has all the details. And you're right. I'll keep that in mind.." she should take it easy..lBut right now there's too much at stake, and it only gets worse. "Hmm not sure, Superboy. A few names come to mind. Heck, maybe it's another crazy cyborg like those ones that Lex built." Lex..Now that's a thought. But hasn't he done a lot of good in the world? Hard to say, Superman sure doesn't trust him, but..

To Austin she nods, "You're right of course, although it's the only lead we have. It's worth a shot..Right?" and she makes more notes on the board, pinning the picture of the Lex Armour on the board, writi g underneath it some of the suit's known capabilities. Under that, she writes notes about checking her blood results with Tim, and a note to get the lighter to Austin to hopefully get a scent.

"Alright then..There's just one last important issue to discuss. Soooo..Some of you may know that Star Lord, leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy is...Friends with Star fire. I have not had a chance to touch base with Kory and unfortunately she was unable to make the meeting today.."

She shrugs, "Thing is, Star-Lord recently sent me a distress signal in this sector.." she writes a bunch of numbers on the board. To those in the know, it's in deep space. "Their ship the Milano is in disrepair and on top of that, they are in an area where the Brood are stepping out of their territory and they are also close to a Skrull/Kree war zone. Their ship was damaged and Lar who assisted them, has been..,Captured by the brood.." she frowns a bit at this, visibly disturbed. "I have yet to contact Starfire about using her starship, but if I'm unable to contact her, Justice League does have a ship at their disposal which we have clearance to use. This will be a dangerous mission so I won't force anyone to come if they are not prepared for this.."

Oh and it looks like dinner is ready. "Thanks Boomer, I'm pretty hungry after that intergalactic trip!" and she digs into food, silent for several minutes.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will wait letting others get their food first. He frowns a bit and looks over at Supergirl "Prisoner?" From what he has heard of the Brood, that is a rather unussual if not unheard of thing. He frowns in thought as he sits back thinking and continuing to listen.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"Go to space? If you need volunteers to do something really stupid, I guess I'm your guy," Owen would offer, knowing little about space travel, or working in space, but eager and curious to learn. He was a quick study. And he could be helpful, once he knew what to do. Owen will let everyone get their food first, as he made it, and it would be impolite to grab it first. Plus, this was an official team meeting. Although he was curious who would dare to try the Why Rao, Why? Chilli.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas does walk :gets in line and winces looking at all the spicy food almost in a panic... He fixes himself a large salad... some rice.. some unseasoned fries... He then takes a bread bowl and stares at the various chili's pouring a miniscule ammount of the "American" level into the bowl and adding /allot/ of rice to it... The poor guy has super charged taste buds, but does not want to insult anyone. Tina meanwhile fills her own bowl with the Hellfire level and then liberally adds hotsauce..

Oracle has posed:
Barbara Gordon makes her way to the food as well. A casual glance over the flavors leads her to the Australian. Serving a bowl and adding some shredded cheese because, chili, she takes a bite. She seems thoughtful over the flavor and heat before looking to Boomerang, "I like the seasoning. It's different from traditional American style. I like it. Good heat" she offers with approval as she takes another bite.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl smiles at Boomer, "Thanks for preparing all this, Boomer. Really appreciate it.." she sighs tiredly, "This is my first attempt at leading a group. I hope I'm doing a good job. Didnt expect so many things to be thrown at me...At us all at once. I'm glad the outsiders are willing to help out too." a rather tired nod and smile is given to Tim too. With everything she's been through lately, a trip to deep space is a bit hectic. Physically given her current condition as well as mentally, "But I'm sure we'll pull through..Right?"

As she speaks, Supergirl loads her plate, heading for the table with some super spicy stuff in her plate. "I also appreciate you coming out Sentinel. I hope I didn't scare you away with that agenda."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will nod a bit and makes himself a plate, but instead of joining the others, the young man heads to the lab. Yup, a Red Robin's work is never done.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
It was amusing to see each person's eating habits, but there was no judgment coming, at least not from the cook. Owen wanted people to enjoy their meal. There was a wide selection, so it would hopefully appeal to everyone. "Thanks Batgirl," since he didn't know her real name. He may not have had much of a costume, his costume looked much like street wear, but others kept their identities a secret, "I hope you like it."

The 'American' spice level was meant as a bit of a joke, but was the mildest version he had made, just in case anyone couldn't handle a bit of spice, and the Australian label, was just adding to it, that Australians could tolerate more than the yanks. Plus, there were regional differences as he had found after moving here.

"A superhero team moves on its stomach, right?" He said to the smirking Supergirl. He did notice she looked tired, and felt a bit of guilt from helping to keep her up at times. "Anytime the Titans need a hand, I'll be there." He nodded his head, now getting in line at the end, and would put a bit of rice, the seasoned curly fries, or curly hot chips as he knew them, some cheesy potato skins, and a bread bowl, which he filled with the Australian level of chilli, though he did pour just a bit of the hellfire into it. Then a glass of Dr. Pepper, and he was set.

He would take a seat next to Austin, and opposite from Supergirl.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas nods to the man as he sits next to him, and is very carefully picking at his, by comparison, very bland food and smiling. "Thanks for lunch, I'm Austin and this is Tina." He offers. The Monkey smiles and offers her own hand to the Aussie. He'll probably need to get in the habit of using the Sentinel moniker sooner rather then later, but he hasn't gotten the habit yet. He takes a small bite of faintly chili flavored rice, wincing slightly and breaking out in a slight sweat. "It's good.." He says around a cough. Then after drinking half a glass of milk asks supergirl, "so... when do we work on my hero costume?"

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl munches thoughtfully on her food. "Dont worry Sentimel, I'll find you and Willow cool costumes, even if I have to make em from scratch. I know that costumes are important, as a symbol, a uniform. We'll get it sorted out sooner rather than later. In the meantime, make yourself at home. I'll be sure to give you the tour later unless anyone else volunteers?"
rShe nods to Boomer, "Right, food's important, after that agenda, we're gonna need all the energy we can get. I'll make preparations to fly out soon as possible. I really do appreciate your eagerness to help." her eyes sparkle, smiling specially warmly for Boomer.
