Ominous Warnings
Date of Scene: 19 June 2021
Location: The Magic Box, Sunnydale
Synopsis: Willow and Buffy do research on the vampire lords
Cast of Characters: Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg

Buffy Summers has posed:
It's a quiet late evening at the Magic Box, which is good, because Buffy is trying to get some research done on recent events. Any information at all on the enemies that have been largely underground lately is hard to come by, and she's really hoping that Willow or Giles will pop by. They've always been better at this sort of stuff than her.

As the evening drags on, Buffy yawns a bit, pouring herself a cup of coffee to keep awake. She's been pulling a few extra shifts here as things get busier over the summer.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow wasn't working. In fact she had booked all the evenings off this week to catch up on the other things she was behind in. In other word, she was burning the candle at both ends and for once it was catching up on her.

She was supposed to be back home doing her laundry. Instead she was at the Magic Box.

"Hi Buffy! Are you the only one working tonight?" Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do.. "I can help you if you need it?" Maybe she find a way to bring up her news.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers yawns a bit, rubbing her eyes. Earlier in the day, it had been pretty busy, but things are thankfully slowing down in the evening. She's about ready to close shop when Willow steps in. "Willow, hey! How have you been?" she shrugs, "It's a slow night and I can probably close up in a few but thanks. I was just trying to do some research on these vampire lords but not much luck yet.."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"A new kind of vampire?" As she walks in, the last customer walks out. Quickly Willow turns the sign to "Come Again!" and turns off the forward lights, leaving the back lights on. "Pour me a coffee while I put the register to sleep."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers nods and smiles, "Thanks Willow!" she steps around the counter, heading for the back room to make some coffee. If they do end up researching tonight, she'll need the extra caffeine too. She pouts them both a cup, adding two sugars and milk before bringing them out and setting them on the table, along with a plate of shortbread cookies.

"Oh, you know, those vamps we found in the underground subway a couple weeks back? Called themselves the Vampire Lords? Well, one of them attacked me the other day while I was in that dream world..Or rather, a few of his demon servants. Luckily Thomas and Deadpool were there to stop them but we caught a glimpse of one of these Vampire Lords..Big guy, super strong. Good thing the sun was just coming up. Still not entirely sure what they're up to. Wonder they are in the history books?

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Strange. Vampire lords aren't supposed to be strong and buff. Usually when they get to the lordship they have aged a lot." Give and take a few hundred years. Willow comes and sits down. "I guess I haven't been around much."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers hmms, "Well for one thing, they would be pretty old, I mean, look at Angel for instance, He's older and therefore stronger than your average vamp. Although the Whirlwind are well known..I wonder if these guys are the same in age and power as them? Maybe we're looking in the wrong geographical area? I mean, The whirlwind mostly set up shop in Europe, by the looks of it, these vamp lords seem to be more African or Middle Eastern in appearance. Hmm do we have any books on vampires in that area?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"May-be.." Come to think of it, they normally didn't deal with many Afro-centric things, especially vampires. "I think I know where there might be something. If not, I can try at John's house?"

Willow found some books that she *thought* might have some interesting, if not valuable information. "Here you go."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers oohs, "Awesome! I guess I was looking in the wrong place." she grabs the books, spreading them out on the table, sifting through them, "Speaking of, have you seen Constantine lately? After he got shot that time, I haven't really seen him around much. I thought he'd have healed up by now.."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow has not.

"I was hoping that you had seen him." John was prone to skipping out. A lot. "Oh dear."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers shrugs, "I'm sure he just needs to rest up, hopefully he's not curled up in his man cave, getting drunk. I gotta be more careful with him around alcohol I guess.." she sighs a bit tiredly as she sifts through pages. It's hard to find some info, but there is a page or two about vampire lords from the 1600s or so, seven in total who swathed a path of destruction through Africa and the Middle East.

Before they travelled to America and were confronted by the Slayer of the time, a witch, a dhampire and some other allies, who teamed up to defeat them and their army by turning them to stone and sacrificing themselves in exchange. Of the seven, only four were recently revived. There are some pictures too:

A petite brown skinned Ethiopian woman with magical talents including wind and lightning manipulation abilities. An Iranian woman with raven hair and light brown skin with psychic powers similar to Drusilla. And two Egyptian brothers with impressive strength and speed for vampires. "I recognize two of the four, guess these are our new enemies.."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"I guess." Willow frowns. "I guess I'll look over it.." In my copious amount of free time. Not. "How's Thomas doing?"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers hmms, "He's still recovering after Deadpool shot him in the arm, apparently so he could get to the vamp that had tried to kidnap me faster..And then of course Wade seemingly defected, when the vamp said he could grant his fondest desire, to die.." she frowns, "Not sure if Wade is bluffing or really considering betraying us, but the fact that he shot Thomas because he thought he was in the way was NOT cool. Nor was turning his gun on him when the vamp urged him to kill Thomas and prove his loyalty. And he would have, if the sun hadn't risen at that point."
