A Mutant Sighting!
Date of Scene: 23 June 2021
Location: Staff Meeting Hall - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Megan checks in with Emma on bringing in a new student.
Cast of Characters: Pixie, Emma Frost

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn had never actually set foot in the staff meeting hall. But with the sudden disappearance of the current music teacher, she had been asked to step in as a temporary TA/substitute teacher. Which meant she also had more access to staff offices, and more responsibilities and expectations.

It's a little intimidating, especially as she had a recent run-in with a mutant on the streets. And she wasn't sure what to do about it, so she had requested a meeting with the next available staff member, which happened to be Emma.

As she waits, she wanders around the meeting hall, peering at this and that in silent awe.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost steps in, wearing a white pants-suit with a teardrop diamond necklace and matching earrings. Her hair is pulled back into a loose ponytail, almost informal but, of course, perfectly stylish, her heels clicking on the floor as she steps inside.

"Oh. Are you lost or do you belong here? I can't ever keep up. The school keeps hiring its own graduates. Positively incestuous," she says.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn is dressed more like a student than a teacher really. Pink shrug over lacy white tank top and jeans, pink hair falling loosely about her shoulders with that trademark black headband and black streaks throughout her hair.

If one didn't know her well enough to know what she is, they might just assume she's a displaced punk rocker. Which honestly isn't all that far off, considering she plays pretty crazy music too.

She blinks slowly as she sees Emma step in and inwardly sighs, having hoped to have a meeting with one of the...Less strict teachers, but one can never be too picky now, can they?

Megan grimaces a bit and shakes her head, taking a step towards her. "Umm, hii Ms. Frost. It's me, Megan? Remember, I took some business classes with you a while back? I'm all graduated now. Actually Ms. Grey asked me to stand in and teach some music classes after the current teacher kinda went MIA."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost peers, "Of course I remember you, I merely hadn't deciphered whether you had become a part of the faculty after my most recent sabbatical. A middling student, with good understanding but a predeliction towards the sentimental," she says, as if recalling Megan's file.

"I wasn't aware you were a musical sort, but I suppose that's just as well. I enjoy music, from time to time, although much of what constitutes the popular version thereof doesn't count for much more than excrement, in my opinion."

She goes to the espresso machine that she had personally installed, selecting several concentrated shots of cappuccino in her cup. "How are you finding the other side of the classroom?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn pouts at the 'middling' part and folds her arms. "Heey, it sometimes pays to be a bit more...Sentimental, y'know? I know it's a dog-eat-dog world out there, but that's exactly why people should have each others' backs!"

She smirks. "Heh, I'm very musically inclined, I formed a band while in school here, but we broke up after graduation and people going their separate ways." Megan's chipper demeanor seems slightly sadenned at the memory.

"ANYHOO, things are, uh...Fine, busy but I'm managing!" she beams, peering at the espresso machine. Ooh, coffee. Coffee and her equals HYPER. So naturally Megs starts searching her pockets for some change. Yyyyyup!

"Oh hey, I actually needed to talk to you about something.."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost makes a face, "I would not know. I am not a 'dog' person," she says.

She sees the fuddling about for change, "You do not need to put money in. It's a service for the faculty, you can use it at your leisure for free. Don't abuse the privilege or I'll take it back to my office, though," she says.

She doesn't bother remarking about the people 'watching each other's backs' or 'needing' each other. Disgusting.

"I am listening, even if it seems that I'm not. Do go on."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn oooohs. "Free coffee? So cool!" she giggles. "I wonder what else is free around here. Do you have like...Free donut day or anything?" oh no, of cooouurse she wont abuse privileges! Nope!

Siigh. Too bad Jean wasn't here. She's soooo much nicer. But. Alas..Megan draws a deep breath as she tries to figure out how to say this as convincingly as possible.

"Um, soo I was in the park the other day, and I came across this mutant. He was like, an obvious mutant too, not like, hidden or anything. Very tall and muscular, covered in fur. Looked like bipedal humanoid cat or...Dog?" she winces, recalling that Emma is not a 'dog person'

"Umm, anyway looks like he's homeless, just sleeping in the park or wherever he can find shelter. I was wondering if we might offer him a place to stay here?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost takes a seat, crossing her legs and taking a soft sip of her coffee. "I have never understood the appeal of the park. It is not nature and it is not urban. One should choose one or the other, not a manicured approximation of something that comes better in the wild," she says.

"I don't know that it's within my jurisdiction to offer shelter, although, knowing Jean to be the bleeding heart that she is, I find it likely he would be welcomed, provided he isn't so feral that he's aggressive or prone to relieving himself on the floor."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn hmms, "Well....Isn't it still nature, even if it's...Uh...Tamed nature?" she steps towards the espresso machine rather eagerly, peering at the buttons, grabbing a cup and looooooooots of sugar before selecting one with lots of cream and starts pouring.

"I mean, it's nice and sunny and warm out there now, but there are still lots of mutant haters out and about." She sighs, "I'm just afraid he'll get the wrong kind of attention. And he IS more agentle giant than anything. He has some kinda healing ability as well as magical knowledge. He offered to heal Alice when she got hit by a...Err, stray falling branch.."

No need to go into awkward details there.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost peers slightly at the last bit. She can certainly recognize when someone is fudging around details in order to avoid something embarrassing, but her indifference far outweighs her curiosity.

"I suppose I'm at least authorized to let you bring the boy to campus. Have you even asked him if he wants to come here? If he is as you say, he may prefer the free lifestyle of being a vagabond. I am told there are those who do."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks at the cup, nearly overfilling it and some spills on her hand. "Ouch! hot!!" she meeps and nearly drops the overfull cup, but manages to get it over to the sink and pour some in there, replacing hot water with cold as she blows on the cup.

"Phew...Um..Welll, yeah, I said I miiiiiight know of a place and would get back to him. He said it would be nice to have an actual safe place to stay instead of running around all the time. I know it's especially hard to feel safe on the streets when ya look like a big furry talking hyena thingy...Err..Person..Mutant! Mutant!"

Bah, soo awwkwaaaard.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost taps her nails lightly on the side of her cup, "You'd bets get your nouns in order if you want to offer this stranger comfort. If he's been treated as a horror show, which one would expect of a mutant with an inhuman appearance, living on the streets, then he might respond less than positively to being dehumanized by those professing to help him," she says.

"So long as he behaves himself, as I said, I imagine he would be fine."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn pouts. "Well, you know what I mean. he's a good guy, just...A bit scary looking is all." hey, she's still new to this whole welcoming scary looking mutants. "Right, I'll let him know. I'm sure he'll be ever grateful. I've already written up a report but will notify Ms Grey too, as soon as I can." she nods and smiles, "Thanks Ms. Frost! Is there anything else I need to do? Any paperwork or anything?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost sets her cup down, 'If there is, I don't know about it and even if I did, I certainly wouldn't care. Pester Jean about such things," she says, making a dismissive hand gesture. "Good luck to you and your Sasquatch friend."
