Hyde in Mutant Town
Date of Scene:	18 July 2021
Location:	Bushwick (Mutant Town), Brooklyn
Synopsis:	Megan and Conner's date is interrupted by giant, hungry pets. Mr. Hyde happens to be the one responsible, some punching follows.

Pixie has posed:
It's a warm sunny afternoon that Megan chose to meet Conner for a date. She hadn't been to Bushwick in a while and with her new part time job helping out Roberto, it seemed she could kill two birds with one stone, keep an eye out for new troubled mutants and go on a much needed date with conner. She's waiting in a park by the lake, having bought them hotdogs that are loaded. They're not the cheap crappy ones either. As she waits on a bench, she whistles softly, trying to fight the urge to feed the cute little birdies that gather around the bench.

Superboy has posed:
Original plan was to catch Megan as she left her work. But Conner got delayed by meetings and stuff. Ugh, work. No, his work is interesting, but somewhat unpredictable. NGOs can't afford much, including a normal work schedule. Fortunately Conner doesn't need much rest.

What he needs is to see Megan more. Which is why he is flying rather fast over New York. Trying to reach Bushwick before he is waaaay too late. (And the hotdogs turn into lukewarm dogs).

Meanwhile the birdies definitely also want some hotdog. Or at least the bread, and are chirping insistently around Megan. Maybe they think because she has wings too, she will share.

That is until one of them gets jumped on by a stray cat. A stray cat the size of a panther. With spiky orange hair that looks like a porcupine mane. The 'cat' eats the bird in a single chomp and looks for more birds. Which obviously have fled. What else could a cat eat?

The giant cat spots the hotdogs. And Megan. Who has wings and maybe is also a bird.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs as she waits patiently, keeping Conner's hot dog safe as she gives in and feeds bits of bread from her own dog to the birdies. As they hop on it she giggles, "So cute!" but suddenly a very big cat comes and eats one of them. The others fly away leaving just a tasty looking pink haired fairy girl staring back at the panther cat, wide eyed in hirror.

"Meep! Nice kitty! Dont eat me.." she jumps to her feet and tosses the rest of her hot dog at the kitty hoping it'll prefer that over fairy girl.

Superboy has posed:
The panther-sized cat really look like the typical stray one would find in the alleyways of Mutant Town, where Animal Control personal is even rarer than honest policeman. Only instead of 3-4 lbs, it must weight a hundred.

It is, like many strays, thin and scraggy, and very hungry, considering how quickly the hotdog remains disappear in its mouth. It also has a lot of teeth, more like a shark than a cat.

The cat licks his lips, and then sniffs at Megan. She looks tasty, yes. The cat slinks closer. Not a nice kitty.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn meeeps, backing away further. Where is Conner, darnit? She had hoped to save his hot dog but...She tosses it at kitty instead, hoping it'll maybe get full on two tasty dogs instead of one. It's too bad help is hard to get around here. Not a police in sight and most people that are even around just up and flee rather than offer help. "Alright Kitty, I don't wanna hurt you, so just calm down okay?" she spreads her wings, getting ready to dust it if the second hot dog doesn't satisfy it enough. "Conner, where are you..?"

Superboy has posed:
"Did you call?" Conner just arrives, landing in front of Megan. "What is this?" He asks, pointing at the cat that is just devouring his hotdog. "It is not a mutant, is he?" He asks, looking suspiciously at the monster cat. He reaches with a hand to maybe pet.

The cat bites. Chomp. The whole hand. Conner frowns and lifts the cat, who keeps his jaws firmly closed around Conner's hand. There is no real damage to his almost invulnerable skin, but neither did the cat teeth broke, which is surprising considering the animal is strong enough its jaws can support it whole body. "Hmm, this critter is far stronger it looks," comments Conner.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks! "Conner, watch out, it's no ordinary cat!" whoops, there goes his hand, not like kitty can harm super boy. Not easily anyway. "Dunno, but if you can hold it still, I can try and put it to sleep? Then maybe we can figure out where it came from.." her sleep spell generally works best when the target is calmer, plus she doesn't want to put Superboy to sleep by mistake. "You Gotta separate it from you or I might put you both to sleep!" her hands start to glow pink, prickling with magic energy as she readies her spell.

Superboy has posed:
"No problem," Conner grabs the cat by the scruff of the neck with his other hand and pulls it away from him, although the animal writhes and twists, trying to scratch him without much luck. "Go ahead," he says with a smile, keeping the cat as far as possible from his body. She is not going to put to sleep his hand, right?

Magic, who knows how it works?

As Megan puts the cat to sleep (without killing it) a trio of large men come running. Two of them are carrying shotguns, "where is that damn cat? The tracker puts it close... there it is!" Shouts one of them. "That cat is ours!" Yells the other.

The third man, who is even larger than the others, stands a bit back.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn narrows her eyes on the cat, pink mist forming around her and surrounding the cat, doing her best to keep it away from Conner. "Mists of Morpheus, Go!" she yells, hands glowing intensely. Well hopefully that worked but..But who are those people? Her eyes narrow, focusing on them, "Who are you guys? Did you do this to poor kitty?" but the6 have shot guns and they don't look like they want to chat. She glides higher in the sky and unleashes a glittering hallucinogenic dust on them, hoping to slow them down a bit..

Superboy has posed:
The armed men don't seem about to shoot, although they point at Conner with the weapons, assuming if he can handle the giant cat he is some kind of powerful mutant. They ignore Megan for a bit until she covers them with glitter dust.

"Hey, what are you... ooooh, so many stars..." the first thug looks amazed, while the second one lowers his gun and looks at the tree at his right. "Mom? Why are you in New York? Oh, let me give you a hug," he hugs the tree, looking very happy.

The larger man steps back from the 'glitter', raising his head to growl at Megan. He has a bestial, ugly face. "You dumb kids, never listening your betters," he claps his hands with incredible force, aiming at Megan, creating a powerful shockwave that makes the windows of the neighbourhood rattle.

"Hey, leave her alone!" Yells Conner, rushing to intercept the big man and protect Megan. But the man whistles, "Max. Food!"

Max? Conner frowns, hearing something behind him. And a bulldog the size of a rhino pounces at him. This one is strong enough to bring him down against the ground of the park.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn meeps, darting back as the guy who apparently she missed with dust, claps his hands, sending a shockwave through the area. She clasps her hands to her ears but doesn't move fast enough, the blast sending her flying, crashing into a nearby tree. "Ack!" she yells in pain, staggering to the ground, a bit discombobulated at the moment to do much more than try and regain her footing.

Superboy has posed:
Conner grunts as the giant dog tries to pin him down and eat his head. He stops the jaws with an arm and acks as the dog is actually strong enough the bite is painful. Before it draws blood, though, he uses telekinesis to pull the dog off the ground, pushing it against the big man.

"Are you okay, Me... Pixie?" He asks, looking back to the mutant girl. Distracted for a second, he gets hit by the large man backhand, who sends him and the dog flying into the park.

"Bah, kids," grumbles the man. His voice is a deep bass, dripping contempt. He pulls off his hat, revealing an ugly, brutish face. "Now we have drawn too much attention. I will have to move my lab and loose most of my pets. It is going to be your fault if they eat a few children," he chuckles, reaching to pick up Megan, his hand is huge.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, shaking her head, climbing to her feet. As she sees Conner getting attacked by doggie, she blinks, "Superboy! no!" but she's too far away to help him..Fortunately he can handle the dog just fine, but then the big brute sends him flying. Yikes! He's so strong..and then he's reaching to grab her.! "Ack! let me go!" she wriggles in his grasp, still a bit slow to react. "Ooh poor thing, so sorry we ruined things for you.." she's managed to fight herself, her ears no longer buzzing..Maybe now she can focus...She pulls her glowing dagger from her chest and attempts to stab the big meaty guy with it wherever she can. "Take this!"

Superboy has posed:
The big man snorts when he sees Megan pull the tiny (for him) dagger our of nowhere, but then he yelps in surprise and pain when she actually stabs her with it. He usually can ignore knives, bullets and even anti-tank weapons!

He drops Megan, taking a few steps back and checking the place where the Soul Dagger hit. No blood? He snarls. "Bah, just tricks. I am going to smash you into pulp, little mutie."

He raises high both firsts to do just that, and Conner comes flying punching him in the jaw. The huge brute goes flying a few yards but stands up instantly, rubbing his face. "Hah, not bad, but I have taken punches from Hulk and Thor. I am Mister Hyde! And I am going to crush you!!"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn rolls away from Big Brute, flying into the air and out of harm's way. "Ugh, who is this guy? He's like, the Hulk or something.." she doesn't have a whole lot of offensive tricks up her sleeve, but one thing Megan is sally good at is teleporting stuff around. She spies a large Boulder nearby and while Big Brute is busy with Conner she proceeds to teleport it right on his head. "Sihal Novarum Chinoth!"

Superboy has posed:
Conner avoids Mr. Hyde first couple punches, and then Megan's boulder falls on his head, making him stumble, stunned by a second. Conner takes the chance to punch him in the face a couple times, "and this is for making experiments on dogs," he remarks.

But Hyde seems able to take those and more. Perhaps it is true he fights Hulk and Thor. He charges Conner, trying to grab him, but the clone is to quick and avoids him, flying up again. Meanwhile Max the giant dog comes back, limping and whining. Hyde kicks him out of the way.

On top of being a super-villain, he is mistreating the dog. Can someone be more evil?

"If I pin him down a second, you think you can give him a double dose of pixie dust?" Asks Conner.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, stepping back as Superboy trades blows with Big Brute. He at least seems better able to with stand his blows and deal one better. The whimpering dog does catch her attention, and she steps towards it, patting it on the head gently, "Awe you poor boy, did that meanie hurt you?" she nods to Conner, "Ill do you one better, hold him down and Ill put him to sleep!"

Superboy has posed:
For a second the giant dog seems about to chomp Megan's hand when she pets him, but instead just lies down, whimpering quietly. Meanwhile Conner charges Hyde again, grabbing him by the beck and pulling him down. The huge man roars, punching Conner's face, then trying to turn over so he is on top. But it is not easy to do that to Superboy, as he can fly. So for a few seconds, the big brute is still, trying to pry Conner's grip. Which he is doing, but slowly.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks at the dog, relieved that she still has her hand intact. "Awwwe I guess he trained you badly.." glancing at Conner, she comes over! clenching her fists. "Alright then, let's try this..lMists of Morpheus Go!" she yells, surrounding the Big Brute in pink slumbering mists..Hopefully Conner isn't too close or affected by the spell.

Superboy has posed:
Conner is very close, and he is vulnerable to magic. But he is also fast, so when the purple mists hits hide, he pulls back and joins Megan's side, watching the super-criminal warily.

Hyde is large and has near-Hulk stamina. But fortunately, he is not particularly resistant to magic. He turns to the young heroes and snarls. "I am not sleepy! That is not going to... to work," he yawns. Shakes his head. "No way," the big brute takes a step forward, and then falls down on his face. THUD. He snores, too.

The giant dog barks, but mildly.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn draws a deep breath, only really relaxing when it seems he's flat out. "Phew, thank goodness it's over. I suppose I can port him to a prison cell somewhere or..." hmm would a regular prison even hold him? "Well maybe we should tie him up or something first. Not sure how long that will keep him out, maybe 15 min tops?" of course she could always port him into a lake or something..

Superboy has posed:
"Oh yeah, let me call the cops, or the D.E.O." replies Conner, eying wearily to the fallen brute. Then going to check if the dog is okay. Conner likes dogs.

It takes a bit for the cops to get to Mutant Town, but the D.E.O. takes wanted supervillains seriously. The show up before Megan has to recast the spell, and they are quick to find the basement lab where Hyde was doing experiments with the Mutant Growth Hormone and animals. MGH is not supposed to work in animals, but Hyde is a genius, despite his brutish appearance.

But once the cops are around and Hyde is restrained, Conner takes Megan's hand and they sneak/fly away.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles as she watches the DEO mop up the chaos. "Well gee wish they got here sooner. Oh well, all in a days work?" she giggles as she takes Conner's hand and flies away.It's a nice day for a flight, and maybe the date wasn't entirely ruined?
