Date of Scene: 07 April 2017
Location: Metropolis
Synopsis: Superman and Supergirl chat.
Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Superman

Supergirl has posed:
It was less than an hour ago that the robber at the Metropolis Mint was foiled by an impromptu grouping of heroes. And one of the victorious champions of justice is flying high over Metropolis, looking aprehensive in thought. Supergirl is floating in mid-air, arms crossed, sort of looking down at Metropolis. The spring breezes play with her hair, cape, and the fringe of her skirt, but she doesn't seem to mind. She had acted to help stop a crime, to save people, but she's not sure how the people responsible for her were going to react. Kara Zor-El being Supergirl was always something for the undetermined future; Kara Danvers was supposed to keep her head down and finish up high school while learning how to pass as a mild-mannnered human that aroused no suspicions. Supergirl making an unannounced debut was definately not her keeping her head down. So, the teenaged blonde is floating over Metropolis, stalling for time before she has to go home to her adoptive family and face the consequences of what she did, be they good or bad.

Superman has posed:
While the Man of Steel was not present at the robbery, he was aware. With his inhuman senses he was aware of much. Once he was busy calming a growing tsunami in East Asia before it could grow to fruition, Superman made his way to America, to speak to his lovely cousin about the situation. She can see him coming, as he makes no attempt to hide. The famous figure flies through the air, one hand at his side, another extended. He slows beside her and straights, an easy and warm smile on his face.

"Kara. I'm proud of you."

It is quite a way to start a conversation.

Supergirl has posed:
The sudden appearance of her cousin's voice shocks Kara out of her reverie. She hadn't noticed Kal's arrival, and she jumps a bit as he speaks. But Kara turns to face him, eyes filled with relief and a smile on her face. "Really?" she asks. "I know I said...I promised. I wasn't supposed to act as Supergirl until you thought I was ready. But everything started happening and..." Kara hesitates for a bit, sighing. "I wanted to help. I wanted to show that I could handle it. But I also was so tired of waiting and hiding. So, I can't totally say I did it for unselfish reasons." The smile remains as Kara studies her cousin's face. "So...I'm not going to be grounded?" She nervously smooths out her skirt, realizing that the costume she made was another thing not discussed with her cousin in advance.

Superman has posed:
"The important point is that -you- feel like you are ready," the man offers softly. "You can train and train and train but...when trouble stirs we don't get the chance to be 'prepared' or not. You acted. You did well, overall. So..." He smiles. "Clearly you were ready. So, as I said, I am proud of you." He turns those impossibly blue eyes of his downward to the world beneath. His red cape flutters behind him. "No," he offers with a bit of a chuckle. "You are not going to be grounded. I think we might need to do a hint more training, but...it is always good to keep that up, of course." He glances to her and asks, gently, "Do -you- think you did a good job?"

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl tilts her head as she thinks, then nods. "For the most part, I think I did alright. I got caught off guard once, but I adjusted after I recovered. I stayed focused on protecting the guards from the blizzard one of the others sete off. It was more important that they were safe than if the robots stole the gold or got away. And I thought the others could handle it." Kara shrugs a bit. "The stolen goods, those can always be recovered later. Keeping the citizens safe and unharmed was the more important task."

Superman has posed:
He listens to her words quietly, making sure not to interrupt. Once she is done he nods. "Well, good. You focused on the protection of life. Exactly what you were taught." He smiles and pulls his gaze from the world below to land on her again. "Keeping an eye on all of your surroundings takes some getting used to, certainly. You have heightened senses, but learning how to focus them in the middle of a fight without being distracted by them can be a real challenge. But, once you get that down..."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara's smile turns into a smirk. "Once I get that down, I won't be surprised by cousins sneaking up on me." Kara laughs, and the tension in her face and body vanish. "Thank you, Kal. I feel much better about what I did. The last thing I want is to disappoint you or bring...disgrace. To what you stand for and represent here." She turns to look back down at Metropolis, letting out another sigh. "So. What are you going to tell them about me? All the reporters who are going to ask you about the girl wearing your symbol?"

Superman has posed:
Superman shakes his head slowly. "Kara, you would have to go very far to dissapoint me. The House of El can handle a few stumbles without falling into disgrace." His tone is faintly teasing, but in a purely loving way. A comforting one. "It isn't what -I- represent, Supergirl. It is what -we- represent. It is now, anyways." He glances down at the city again and he considers for a brief moment. "That is up to you. I did that interview when I first revealed myself...explained about the destruction of Krypton and growing up on Earth. Without outing my real identity, of course. It depends on what you are comfortable with."

Supergirl has posed:
Again, Kara considers the question. "Maybe...a joint interview would be best?" She looks over to Superman to gague his reaction to the idea. "You and I both speaking with the same reporter." Her face gets a highly amused look. "Or *a* certain reporter." The idea of Clark Kent interviewing Superman and Supergirl elicits a giggle from her. "But something where I can explain and you can also add clarity of your own? I know you are cautious and...I don't know how humans would react after being used to the idea of there just being one of you for so long. Now there's me. How many other Kryptonians will appear tomorrow? I don't want to start a panic or make people think there's an invasion force on the way."

Superman has posed:
He considers that for a moment and he chuckles. "If you want me there, I can be there. I would rather not interview you while on-the-job, though. Too much attention, if that makes sense. However, I can be sure to find someone who is not a jerk to do the interview." Superman grins. "And that makes sense, yes. They are a good people, but...they can scare. Especially when some people try to foster that fear. However, when given the chance they can be...well...they can be heroic."

Supergirl has posed:
Jara nods at her cousin's assessment of humanity. "There are many humans who use their skill and intelligence to be heroes. There's much that is admirable about them." Kara smiles, then sighs. "Of course, my age group is more concerned with this Facebook and Twitter and what certain famous people are doing and 'have you hear this band, Kara?' or 'You still like that band I told you about last week, Kara? The're so old news.' And shopping. And shoes. And who is asking out whom for courtship..." Kara shakes her head and laughs. "Krypton was less chaotic." She looks back down at Metropolis and half smiles. "But then, Krypton didn't have pizza."

Superman has posed:
Superman smiles. "Members of your age group are also changing the world for the better. Brilliant teenagers are developing ways to clean ocean water, or cure diseases, and they are more socially accepting then any generation of humans before them." He laughs softly and nods. "Do you want to know a secret?" He glances from the world below to his cousin. "...I mostly eat junk food when I am alone. My apartment is filled with twinkies and doughnuts and cakes and pies. I scarf down a lot of fast food, too. I remain perfectly healthy. Ma and Pa Kent would be mortified if they knew." He grins.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl smiles evily (for her) at the revalation. "Good. I can use some blackmail material on you. I'll save that for a day that I really want something." The smile turns to one much more suited for her, and Kara embraces her cousin. "Thank you Kal. For the support. For everything."

Superman has posed:
He laughs softly at that and shakes his head. "Or, you know, you could ask." He reaches out to hug her back, resting his head on top of hers. "You'll do great here, Kara. I know it isn't Krypton, but...you can make this home. This world is a good one. It will welcome you with open arms if you let it. And remember, if you need anything from your stodgy cousin...you just ask. You're family."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara looks up at Kal, smiling with relief and pride. "I'll keep that offer in mind. I may actually have a use for an 'ask for anything' favor soon. I understand that prom dresses are rather expensive. If I get asked. Which I haven't." Kara doesn't seem too upset by that, though. She just does an 'it is what it is' shrug. "Okay, I should probably get home and face Eliza and Jeremiah. I'm sure they're going to have a ton of questions for me."

Superman has posed:
Superman laughs and shakes his head. "How much do you think I get paid at the Planet, hmm?," he teases gently. "But if you want a nice dress for Prom, we'll see what we can whip up." He grins, then. "I'm sure you'll get asked, don't worry." He nods to that and gives her another squeeze before floating back from her. "If they give you any Hell you point them towards me, alright?"

Supergirl has posed:
Kara nods as she starts to float away. "I think Alex still has hers. I can probably borrow it and get it altered to fit." Her smile is all positive and she gives Kal a thumbs up regarding the Danvers. "I will. I think telling them I already talked with you will be enough when they realize I'm not chained up in the Fortress." Kara laughs and waves. "Bye, Kal. I'll talk with you later!" And Supergirl goes zipping back down to Metropolis, feeling much better about her accomplishments of the day.

Superman has posed:
He raises a hand to wave, and he grins. "Have a good one, Kara. I'm sure I'll see you again soon. Keep up the good work." Few people can be as encouraging or comforting as Superman. Seriously. It is in the way he smiles, and his tone and body language. There is a reason people tend to see him as a beacon of hope, and not some strong guy with a cape. He watches her go and then turns, taking off into the atmosphere to do what he often does: hover at the edge of space, listening to the world below...
