Old friends, Iced tea, and mustard
Date of Scene: 02 January 2022
Location: The Blue Lady, Fort Joseph
Synopsis: Kori and Thomas catch up on old times.
Cast of Characters: Starfire, Thomas Raith

Starfire has posed:
A familier setting, a familier crowd and...hopefully, a familier face. Kori had returned to Earth, returned to the Titans and...had taken some time away from the brutality of the Brood war.

There was no going unnoticed for the woman, a heroine, a supermodel...and also bright orange, Starfire was going to be fairly recognizable as she made her way to the bar.

Thomas Raith has posed:
True enough. The doorman, a young hispanic man who carried a tomahawk and called himself "Axe" grinned as he saw her and waved her past the long line waiting for entry into the popular club. A huge black bouncer with a bright smile often refered to as "Crush" had just grinned and said "Hey there Little Girl," Before pulling her into a warm hug. And Yosa, the usually silent one eyed bar man had dipped back into the kitchen and returned with a bright yellow bottle with a straw sticking out of it. But it's the voice from behind her... "I don't think anyone quite makes an entrance like you do. How is it going Kori?" Thomas asks, looking as sinfully handsome as ever.

Starfire has posed:
Well it was pretty handy to be waved through, to be recognized, and Koriand'r wasn't exactly going to complain. She wasn't exactly in the mood to be waiting in line tonight. With her hair and eyes practically glowing the woman took the hug offered, a light squeeze given her strength before she stepped back, but her usual bright joyfulness didn't quite seem to be reaching her eyes.

When the voice speaks up? She turns, that same smile offered before she shrugs her mostly bared shoulders. "I am in need of a drink Thomas, and a friendly face, if I could. It is good to see you."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smiles a bit and takes a seat at the bar next to her. Yosa pulls out a crystal decanter that the woman would know contains sweet tea, but is brewd to be the color of good whiskey. A facade like so much of the his Man-in-White personality. a facade that she is one of the few to have ever breached. "Sure Kori." he says with an easy smile. "Want to go up to my office, or talk here? Last I heard you were off planet.

Starfire has posed:
A nod, the Tamaranian princess glances towards the office. "Elsewhere might be for the best. Venting things about intersteller problems and alien...encounters is probably going to get some strange looks, even for someone like me."

She shifts, allowing the drinks to be poured, the context more important right now than the alcohol content. "I've been off-world for a little while now, with my people and then lending aid to another. Things have been...diffocult at times. I have been missing this planet and my friends."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith nods, collecting his glass of tea and her bottle of mustard and heading for the stairs that lead to his office and the VIP lounge. He tells Crush not to let anyone past except Buffy, and to warn Buffy that he is with an old friend." As open minded as his current lover is, there is a certain shock value to walking in and finding your partner alone with a beautiful alien princess. Once settled in the office, he gestures Korri over to the sofas and smiles "Okay then, spill. What's bothering you babe?"

Starfire has posed:
Dropping herself down onto the sofa, Kori gives a little defeated sigh before closing her eyes. "I have been lending aid to the Shi'ar, they are fighting a war with a dangerous species that has taken some of their worlds. Every person that falls ends up becoming one of them." A little shake of her head, she stretches out. "It is...troubling sometimes, having to fight creatures you know used to be allies. Or worrying what would happen if they had managed to capture me."

The woman laughs, a little less humor than a venting of stress. "It is...scarier than I would like to admit."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith nods slightly at that, handing her back her mustard and sitting across from her. Close enough to show familiarity, though not intimate. "I can only imagine." He admits sipping his tea. "It can be like that when dealing with other vampires. Not being able to be certain that who you are fighting beside today won't make a mistake, r the other side just get's lucky, and then you are facing an enemy with a friend's face. So how are these enemies taking them over?

Starfire has posed:
"They emplant an embryo, converting their victims into one of their drones. It is...disturbing. Often you cannot even tell who they were before. Which is almost worst, because it leaves you wondering." She sips from the straw, the tang of her condiment beverage a nice little reassuring comfort before she shakes her head. "But I came home to take some 'leave' from the fight, to relax and not think about it as much. Tell me how you have been."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith figures it's best to get the most important and relevant bit out of the way right away. "Well I'm seeing someone." He says with a smile. Which might explain why the normally passionate man has kept his distance by all accounts. He's faithful, but no point in stirring up his Hunger. Capital H. The demon like presence that gives him his strength but also needs to be kept well fed. "The club has been doing very well as you can see. Harry finally told Karrin that he is in love with her and I haven't seen them since. Rather dull by all accounts.

Starfire has posed:
"I am happy for you!" Kori answers, an honest expression of joy for the man. She knew enough about how most humans approached their relationships and love to understnad his meaning and his warning, but there was no offence to be taken. "I hope they are doing well, there is nothing wrong with indulging in some time alone and away from others with a new lover."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith chuckles a bit, appreciating her understanding and smiling just a bit as tension he did not even know he was holding in evaporates slightly. "What about you, any purple skinned pretty boy sweep you off your feet in cosmic space?" He asks amused, refilling his own drink, letting some of the weight lift before they get back to other topics

Starfire has posed:
"I am...close with someone," Starfire admits, a little laugh as she takes another sip of her 'drink'. "Combat has always been something that breeds emotion, excitement...but I probably don't really need to tell you that, do I?"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith grins slightly, looking amused. "As my father once famiously said, when you put a group of White Court together, 'Un pas d'une guerre, deux d'une orgie.'" He says having little doubt that the polyglot alien will have little difficulty with the translation. Adding, "You get your blood heated, your body rarly cares why.

Starfire has posed:
A shrug of her bared shoulders, Kori gives a little laugh. "I'm sure there are very similar sayings, if not thoughts on Tamaran, nevermind with the Warlords..." she trails off, Closing her eyes lightly. "Well, I hope that you and your someone are doing well, heated blood or otherwise. It has been nice to see you and to talk again. I've missed this adoptive home. Too many warzones...the club has been a nice break."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smiles and stands "Well you are always welcome here." He says, and forgetting proprities he stands and holds his arms open to her. And if it feels /just/ a little too good to be a normal hug, ans his Hunger refinds a forgotten but favorite scent... Well that's the demon's problem.
