Just one shot...
Date of Scene: 03 January 2022
Location: Rec Room - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Just shooting a few hoops whilst wearing giant boxing gloves (it was a challenge) Rogue suggested an idea that might have to be explored. Is it possible to encode a memory engram from someone she's touched for a length of time? Research may have to follow.
Cast of Characters: Beast, Rogue

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy is it seems, trying to play basketball. That's the theory at any rate. But the doctor has huge foam hands on whilst attempting to manoever the ball and is shooting from the back line. Maybe this is more of an exercize in mental calculation than it is an actual true game of hand-eye coordination.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue comes into the rec room in hopes to try and find a way to alleviate her boredom that doesn't take her off campus today. She has light bags under her eyes but otherwise seems alright. Dressed as always in her body suit and gloves, she walks over to where Hank is shooting basketball - or trying to anyway. "Kinda hard ta play all on yer lonesome, ain't it?"

Beast has posed:
"Hmmm, yes, that's definitely a fact. It's not so much a game as shooting hoops...." Big mitts, basketball, attempting to manoever... THROW! It goes wide by bouncing off the rim. "...or as it happens to be, failing even to do that. I'm trying to improve my aim, mathematically. I'm not doing quite as well as I had hoped." Mister big-gloves heads over to collect the ball, even manages to fumble tossing it in Rogue's direction. "It's challenging! You should try it."

Rogue has posed:
"I dunno if you can improve your aim with math..." Rogue quips as she nabs the ball clunkily passed her way. She dribbles it a few times and then sets up to take the shot only...she slips on something. Who knows what. Probably her own foot as luck would have it. The ball goes up and then immediately comes right back down and thunks her on the head. Massive failure. "Course... I ain't ever been much into sports..."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy heads to the foot locker where he got the big overized boxer's mitts and pulls out a second pair, only because they've been tied together by the laces. He'd never have got a grip on it otherwise. However he looks up at the flub shot and wheezes the laugh back into his lungs. "If I didn't have these on, I'd be sinking them every time... I swear. THe aim -was- to try and sink it by math, but there's... other issues. GLove related issues." He grins. "Try them."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shifts to stand, brushing herself off and side eyes Hank. "I heard that laugh, Hank..." She offers, picking up the basketball to dribble around a bit more. "Glove related issues? Who are you working on those gloves for and why? If I can be so nosy..." She asks this much and then looks to the ground. "Did I ever tell ya I ran into your friend with the possession issue?"

Beast has posed:
"These?" Brandish. It looks ridiculous, as they're rock'm sock'm sized. He fumbles them and catches them with a hug. "Nobody. I think these're from the summer games, much like the sumo-wrestler outfits. They're Boofers, I think?" he checks the name on the backs of them. "Yep..." looking up at her he fixes attention though. "No, No you didn't."

Rogue has posed:
"Yeah. I sorta watched as it took him over too. Interesting stuff..." Rogue says as she idly shoots the ball and makes a basket, moving to grab and dribble it more. "Him an' his friend... but I remembered them when I saw them. Cause they were the ones we helped at the cabin a while back yeah? When he was lost bein'a snow leopard. Now he's possessed. You make the strangest friends, Hank."

Beast has posed:
"I know, right?" Hank gives a sigh. "I don't really know what to say there. Or to do. I'm sort of hoping that someone with a mystical bent can evict the occupant, because it's a little out of the sphere of my influences." He stares at the oversized mitts on his hands, shakes his head and uses his knees to get the things off, beaning them overhead to the bin he got them from, along with the other pair. Each one scores home and he trots over to her. "Some people I think, just attract drama."

Rogue has posed:
"Well. I kinda had a thought... but...I dunno if it's viable..." Rogue begins, watching as Hank bins the gloves and she raises a brow. "Giving up on the idea?" She deters for a moment and then takes a breath. "Cause his friend was saying something about a vessel they need to find in order to seal the demon away again... and... well I was working on an idea of if I could hold her hostage...with my power...if they ever manage to find the vessel."

Beast has posed:
"It's a bit pointless being the only one attempting to sink a hoop when wearing oversized boxing gloves. You've got quite the edge on me. And now there's two of us, so it's more of a challenge to play ordinarily," Hank replies, but steals the ball from her, bouncing it as he weaves a little, dodging as he dribbles. "How do you mean use your power to hold her hostage? She's a dead spirit, as far as I can tell, a biosignature that's mostly occupying the negative plane. How?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue grunts as he steals the ball and goes after him, trying to catch him on a dodge and take the ball back. She likely does not succeed yet. "Well maybe not even her... but like... if I could focus enough. Maybe even take Vitali's mind... leaving only her, that way she'd have nothing to hide behind when they go to trap her. Then I can...give him his mind back?"

Beast has posed:
"I think that's probably... not a good idea, Anna-Marie. WHether you could copy his biosignature, we don't have any way of re-encoding his mental patterns back into him, afterwards. Also, she isn't really hiding behind anything, she was suppressing him entirely, at the forefront. I am hoping she pisses off the wrong person, as I said. I have a care package for him, kind of ready to go if he gets free of her." Hank loses the ball, perhaps on purpose, because he wants to try and take it back? Who knows.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue moves to get the ball, but she just dribbles it for a moment while walking around. "Well...it was just an idea..." This said and then she moves to try and do a close shot but the ball bounces off the rim and right towards Hank.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy sneaks it, does a jump shot -- but she can fly. Makes that sort of thing not necessarily a given. "Maybe it's worth actually trying to see if you can download a memory engram somehow. That would actually be a worthwhile thought to persue, as an emergency possibility. I just don't know how to do it just yet. Maybe Jean could help with it, you never know." A few more hoops a few more plays, and a notion. It's a thing that might happen.
