Date of Scene: 11 February 2022

Synopsis: An anniversary, of sorts.
Cast of Characters: Black Widow (Romanoff), Phobos

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
The bungalo was private. Very private. This was one of those privately owned islands down in the Caribbean. Perfect blue waters. Tropical trees. Lovely flora. There was only one other structure and it was a Japanese style dojo on the opposite side of the isle. The isle was only a couple of miles square but was filled with that lush vegetation, streams, and a few small waterfalls.

All in all, it was paradise.

The island was owned by one Natasha Romanoff. Through the decades, she had enough to allow for certain luxuries. She'd lived as a royal for a time after all. So when they opted to get away from the world, they went to the extreme. They were the only people on the island.

The bungalo was able to have all the windows opened, to allow the ocean breeze to blow through and keep it cool. At the moment, Natasha was actually sitting out on the beach, laid out on a lounger in a two piece bathing suit with a pair of sunglasses shielding her eyes against the bright sunlight.

Phobos has posed:
It didn't take long for her paramour to join her, at a glance it would seem like a fortunate couple who had found the right combination in life to get away from it all, to take some shelter against the world and need nothing than themselves. But if anyone knew the woman on the beach, they would know that this vacation with no responsibilities was a long time coming.
And Alexander would agree with that sentiment.
His voice rises as he emerges from that bungalo, wearing just khaki shorts and an open Hawaiian shirt of red and green. In his hand he holds up a black tablet with a crystalline muted screen that seems to be the subject of his mild consternation. "So I found this. I took the batteries out. Since, you know, vacation."
Then he's strolling across the way, feet digging small divots in the sand as he closes the distance to the lounging Black Widow. He settles down into a cross-legged seat, setting the tablet down on the sand and looking at her. "Also I looked at the history, and you've been keeping tabs on things."
That tone of voice of his isn't judgmental. But there is a hint of condemnation there as he gives her the Alexander side-eye.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Hearing his approach, Natasha tilted her head up and back to watch him as he got closer to her position. But when she saw what he held while he spoke, she quickly looked back out at the ocean lapping gently at the shoreline.

"I'm sure I have no idea what you are talking about."

They both knew better. It wasn't like he had brought the tablet. Though she did wonder what else he had managed to find. As was expected for someone like her, there was more than one secret on this island.

Maybe he'd see it as a challenge to find them all.

She sighed a bit and lowered her glasses to look over as he settled on the sand. "So clearing browsing history will need to be a thing with us, I see. I'm sorry. Habit. I feel like the world is going to explode if I'm not paying attention to it." Not that she could stop it from exploding but it would be good to know.

Phobos has posed:
"No, I know." Alexander says as he leans back on his hands. A tilt of his head is given to her as the sun gets into his eyes so he shields it a bit then murmurs, "And part of me feels like I should wander around and find them all, but I'd rather spend that time with you."
His smile is warm, even as he looks away and to the shore where the waves gently lap at the beach. "I also figure that there might be a situation where you will need to have something like this on hand quick. And you're also an adult."
He lolls his head to the side lazily so he can look at her, though her lovely green eyes are hidden behind those sunglasses. "But do try to take it easy." Though he does look at her in that two-piece bathing suit, then adds. "-er. Take it easier."
Leaning to the side he rests his shoulder against hers, "Alright?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
She slips off her sunglasses and offers them to him should he want them. "Alright." She doesn't nudge back but she does have to smile at the moment. She was very comfortable with him and, admittedly, part of her never wanted to go home. But at the same time, she knew she would go crazy if she stayed someplace like this for months on end. She'd go a little stir crazy, needing to do something.

"I would find it funny if you managed to find them all," she admitted with that little smirk. "Because I'm pretty sure you would get about half. There's other stuff too."

Phobos has posed:
"Oh yeah, I have no doubt." As he accepts those glasses, utterly unrepentant in doing so. He slides them on slooowly up along the bridge of his nose and then leans back looking all cool and at ease with the sun shining above them. Almost like an image from an 80s Rayban ad.
"So this is my way of satisfying my sense of obligation, without launching onto a fool's errand."
That said he leans over and touches a small kiss to the curve of her neck, as if only then just saying hello with that little display of affection.
"I was thinking," He says, "I know we have all these supplies. But I could go diving and get us some crabs and we could bake them on the beach?" A quirked eyebrow is given to her sidelong.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
There is a little tilt of her head as she considers. "That would actually be very good. Maybe some clams as well if you can find them? Or mussels. Can do a whole bake thing. We have potatoes, corn, some other things we can add to the mix."

She glanced off toward the water, as if she might be able to see the very creatures they are considering having for their dinner. All she could see was lovely water which was somewhat tempting to go expore as it was getting a bit warm there in the sunlight. And she might need to get out one of the beach umbrellas since she gave up the sunglasses.

Phobos has posed:
"Nature's supermarket," He offers as they ponder the ocean, and he sits up a little more. "Except for the, you know, sharks." Since supermarkets tend not to eat you back. He lifts his chin and then cants his head to the side, "Before I start earning my keep, however..."
An askance glance, "Would you like to go swimming with me?" He leans over and pushes himself up to one knee, sliding the sunglasses off his nose and then moves to lightly place them on hers and push them up so they are aligned properly. Then rises to his feet as he looks toward the beach.
It was nice, though there were some clouds off on the horizon, perhaps some rain in the evening. Maybe even a storm. Which could be lovely. He wasn't too worried about inclement weather since one of the entries on Natasha's history was a glance at several weather radar pages. He slips out of that Hawaiian shirt, easing it off his shoulders and setting it down on the towel beside her.
"Though last time I was out I got this vibe the fish were watching me. Was Namor ever an Avenger?" A glance given, perhaps alluding to the possibility that if he was, the Atlantean might be giving Alexander the side-eye glower from afar.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"He was. But I doubt he's paying attention to us. Although he does have a thing for blondes," she adds, looking Alexander over as she pulls off the glasses. She moves forward on the lounge a bit and swung her feet to the sand. The glasses were laid down on the seat she had been occupying. Then she rose to her feet.

"I would love to go swimming with. Last one in has to do the dishes."

And before he even had a chance to respond, she was dashing for the water's edge at top speed.

Phobos has posed:
"I would totally wreck Namor," Alexander says with a nod, completely unphased though there's a twinkle in his eye as she gets to her feet. And, when she does... well the Olympian's eyes can't help but follow that way her body moves so well in that swim suit.
Which might be why he seems a little distracted...
When she makes her break for it.
A bark of a laugh is heard and then he's /running/ after her, though she definitely out-paces him in that short burst of speed. Her victory is marked when she's the first one splashing into the water, into the waves.
While only moments later Alexander is splashing through them too and then laying out in a dive forward to leap into the first four feet of water and /swims/ forward with one beautiful butterfly stroke that sends him rushing into the ocean.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
He has the speed advantage. As well as longer legs. To win in a race like this, she has to really cheat. Though sometimes she can if it is a short burst but usually, some sort of ploy to get ahead was required. Thus cheating.

She was up to her calves in the water when she heard him enter, so close behind her. Then he passed and dove so smoothly into that oncoming wave, the lines of him like a professional swimmer.

It was a nice view.

She took a few more steps then mirrored what he had done, diving into the wave and under, swimming a few feet then breaking the surface and gliding through the water further out. Under for the next wave. Until she was out enough the waves weren't breaking anymore and she turned to see where he ended up.

Phobos has posed:
She surfaced and could see the entire island at a glance, and really it was a beautiful place. Idyllic with the trees curved so, the distant risen rocky mount, the hint of mystery and jungle and that small bungalow near the heliport and landing pad. But around her was the soft lapping of the swells that drifted past her, becoming waves as they got closer to the island.
No Alexander for a minute as she looked around, floating there. A glance underwater reveals nothing at first. But then from below, appearing from behind a curve of coral, he appears swimming upward...
Breaking the surface he exhales, then inhales as he pushes his wet hair back from his eyes, and then smiles at her as he produces a blueish lobster in one hand, holding it aloft like a prize. "So there are some lobsters down below too. So that's on the table." But for now he slips it back under the water and lets it go as it swims off at speed. Yet that leaves both hands free for him to float toward her and slip them around her waist.
"So hi." He smiles, a twist of a smile as he bites his lower lip and rests his brow against hers.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Strong legs kicking were enough to keep them both afloat. Allowing her to slip her arms around his shoulders and scooting a little closer. Her brow against his as she enjoyed that smile.

"Hi to you," she said softly, returning the smile then tilting her head to steal a kiss. When she pulled back, she addressed the dinner conversation.

"Whatever you catch, we'll have. Up to you entirely. I'll be responsible for building the bonfire. All that prep since it's the easy part." Chasing things through the ocean? Not so much.

Phobos has posed:
He'll crinkle his nose, just a little bit as she sticks him with the role of hunter, but it's a feigned protest as he murmurs to her while the water continues to slosh around them. Below untold life rushes about its daily routine, but above it's just them.
    And perhaps a few gulls.
"Whatever I catch." He repeats as he draws her close and takes the burden of flotation on himself, providing enough buoyancy with the occasional scissor of legs even as the current slowly pushes them back toward the beach.
A smile, then he murmurs, "It seems I've caught you, however. Miss Romanoff." Another small kiss shared.
Then he asks with a lower, more intimate tone, "Or did you catch me?" All that time ago.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
That made her laugh. Because she hadn't even thought about that. "While I might be an enjoyable dinner, I doubt that you will find I meet any of your nutritional needs. And you'd just end up hungry again afterward."

But despite her joking, Natasha did smile softly. "I do believe it was a mutual catching back ....how long has it been now?" Because it seemed like they were always together.

Phobos has posed:
"Not to mention that Black Widows are poisonous," Alexander says with a smile, but then she asks him how long it's been. His eyes lift, then he half-grins, "Depends on where we measure the anniversary from." As he continues to hold her, floating there in the water.
"And time flows differently on Olympus, so that might play havoc with things." After a moment... perhaps two, they can feel the ocean floor under their feet as he eases backwards, still holding her, though now they half stand and half float.
"Easier just to say forever." And at that moment he laces his fingers with hers, squeezing gently as he draws close. Those pale hazel eyes close, and then he kisses her with a warmth that defies the world and the ocean in the face of their love.
