Cast of Characters: Black Widow (Belova), Captain Marvel (Danvers)

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova sits on the edge of a building overlooking an industrial military contractor. She lounges idly, wearing a pair of tacitcal pants and a vest full of pockets. She doesn't have a sniper rifle, although she is definitely armed in a variety of ways, most notably by the soft glowing red of the trademark Widow wristbands.

She's eating from a back of chips very carefully, her hair pulled back in a braid, although a few whisps of blonde escape in the wind and blow in her face. Very irritating. Of course, if Carol Danvers had met an old friend at that building today and happened to see the lounging spy, well, she might feel compelled to look into it.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers was, indeed, making a business call to the location. She'd been asked to come and evaluate a new, well, if that were put into writting someone would have to be killed. The public will have to be content knowing that it is a <redacted> of great importance to the security of the nation. Naturally.

The visit wasn't terribly long, perhaps an hour. At the end of the meeting Carol emerges and talks to the company representative briefly. It was, perhaps, during that talk that she thought she had noticed something across the compound on a neighboring rooftop. It certainly was more than a flock of seagulls but it wasn't the moment to let on.

The conversation eventually ends and Carol gets into her car and drives off the secured compound, returning her visitor's badge at the gate. She doesn't drive far, however. Just a about a block before she pulls over and parks. Stepping out, her powers flare to life and Captain Marvel rises up into the sky, coming to a hover about a thousand feet up. Enough to see the area and most likely to be over looked by anyone still spying on that complex. Perhaps.

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova snapped a few pictures of Carol as she departed. Just for the sake of the record, although she wasn't who Yelena was there for. Nor was Carol's friend. Her focus was on a floor above that office, on a different ex-general altogether.

She doesn't seem to be aware of the superheroine's approach, although she isn't likely to give herself away as she does, just casually holding up her telescopic camera and munching on her snacks.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Studying the figure on the rooftop for a few minutes, there seemed to be no immediate threat but it was certainly unusual. Deciding to pay a friendly visit in the name of the neighborhood watch, Carol flew down and slowly came to a near silent hover. She placed herself behind the blonde, some twenty feet away and five feet off the rooftop.

"You know.. there are much better places to work on getting some sun. Around here? Hanging out on a rooftop seems to give off the wrong impression."

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova is taken off-guard, but she doesn't show it, intense training burned into her brain so deeply that flinching is forbidden. Just another way to get punished, to show fear or surprise. She casually tosses the last chip in her mouth, crumpling up the bag and tucking it into one of her vest pockets.

"I have never cared much about impressions," she says, the Russian accent on her voice more than palpable. "The opinions of others only show you things from their point of view," she says. She turns now to face the mighty woman, raising an eyebrow. "Ah. Captain Marvel, isn't it? Most impressive in person."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers smirks at the response. "That sounds awfully familiar. Usually it's a redhead offering the philosophical perspective." She drops to the rooftop, "I never cared much for impressions" she quipped back at Yelena's summary of her presence. "There are a lot of parties that have you high on their list of people they would very much like to have over for conversation."

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova may have an idea of who the redhead in question might be, but she keeps any opinions about -that- individual to herself. It was quite complicated anyway.

"You seem terribly well-informed, then," Yelena says, rising up to her feet. "If so, you know there is little I could do to resist you. But I also know that I haven't really done anything worthy of being detained. Well. Not this time anyway," she smiles. She holds up a hand in a mocking of scout's honor, "I solemnly swear I am not here to kill anyone. There, does that make you happy?"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers shrugs. "Maybe I'm just a student of philosphy." She shakes her head, "No. Not really. But I bet if we took a walk down to the manager's office of this building they wouldn't say you were here with their blessing. That would be considered trespassing."

A brow arches, "Would you take your word for it?" she turns the assurance back on the blonde.

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova sighs, "I suppose that they might think so, yes. I think they have a very narrow definition of public property. But you are not called in to arrest jaywalkers or trespassers, are you, Captain Marvel? No, you are for the big bad villains who threaten the world. I am no threat to the world. I am not hurting anyone," she says.

She looks down at her back, "Would you like some crackers or maybe a soda? I have grape and orange and that clear lemon-lime kind that doesn't actually taste like lemons or limes."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers laughs, "I think I've heard others who disgree with that perspective as well." She shrugs, "I'm for what is over all right." Which isn't always locally or incidentally right. Somethings the good of the whole and all that.

"I try not to dring liquid sugar but thanks" she declines. "Just remember there are always others watching." Nothing otherwise to see here she prepares to be on her way. Her car was probably already up on blocks, wheels stolen.

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova cocks her head, "Isn't that my line? Something about the spies always being around, lurking in the shadows. I am an excellent lurker myself. One of the best. If I didn't want to be seen, I wouldn't be," she says.

She gathers up her things, throwing her backpack across one shoulder. "Just report that I was here. That should do the job sufficiently. I am only here to, how do you say, put the fear of God into someone."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers shrugs, "Perhaps so."

She smiles wryly, her eyes hidden behind the mask, only glowing white, "I'm not here to do your job for you. I'm here to remind you that there are rules to being in the United States and to kindly abide by them. It would be unfortunate if not." Probably for everyone.

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova tsks and shakes her head, "You do not have to threaten me, Carol Danvers. I understand all too well your potency. You have what they call 'Big Dick Energy'," she says.

"I am backing off peacefully. No harm, no foul, eh? Are you sure you do not want something? I have fruit snacks. Very juicy."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers snorts. "..right." She shakes her head, "I'm not threatening you. I'm only asking you to behave civily. Please and thank you." She rises off the roof, hovering briefly, "No, but thank you. I'm fine without them." She offers a nod as she prepares to depart.

Black Widow (Belova) has posed:
Yelena Belova sighs and raises an eyebrow, "So, are you doing anything? Maybe we could get a drink or something," she says. It's very awkward and she finds herself running a hand back, tugging on her braid in a nervous tic.

"I mean to say is...I am a woman out of country. Far from home and all that I know. I...thought maybe you, too, were a person who was alone too much and would like someone to talk to. That is dumb thing to say, I am taking it back, you can forget you ever saw me. Or do not, but just pretend I didn't say anything stupid like that."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol Danvers heistates as she was preparing to leave. It wasn't usually her habit to hang around with international spies and assassins. Except for when she did.

"I.. don't drink, actually. Not anymore." She drops back down to the rooftop, "It's not stupid. Just unexpected, I guess?" She pauses, "But, uh, sure. I don't have any where I need to be now that that meeting is over." She thinks, "Do you want to, uh, go get something to eat? Something more than snacks I guess?"
