Hanging out in the re-room
Date of Scene: 28 February 2022
Location: Rec Room - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Remy and Rogue have a fight. It goes as well as can be expected.
Cast of Characters: Gambit, Cannonball, Rogue

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau is leaned back on the sofa, a huge bowl of popcorn sitting beside him and he is casually tossing the kernals one at a time and catching them with his mouth. One the screen a trio of souletes are mocking a cheaply made sci-fi movie and the Cajun is grinning ear to ear. On the floor at his feet perhaps the ugliest doog that ever lived, with one eye and a tail half again as long as his body snores lightly.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie comes in from an early day at the club. He walks in and over to the minibar, grabbing a soda from the mini fridge, as he looks over and shakes his head a bit "Hey I saw that on the late late show back home." He does look over seeing the dog asleep, he does not disturb it.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau grins a bit and shakes his head. "Ah love MST-t'ree-K. Used ta watch it wit' mah pappa when Ah was a kid." He tosses another popcorn kernal iton his mouth and adds. "Dis one de Aliens trying ta steal de world's water or somet'ing." He adds with a chuckle. "Toss me one of dose will yah. Got plenty of popcorn yah wanna rot yah brain.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue strolls into the rec center like she owns the place, grinning ear to ear. Is it a scary thing if Rogue actually seems happy? Probably. She gives a little wave to Sam but then puts a finger over her lips. A very not-covered-by-a-glove finger. She then sneaks up from behind and puts those very not-gloved hands over the Cajun's eyes. "Guess who!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will get Remy a drink, and Rogue as well. he has known them long enough to know their preferences, and will set theirs down on the coffee table near them as he finds his chair. "Na, I ment I seen the movie they are watching on the late late movie." He does grin over at the two.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau blinks and hesitates. Of course he knows that hand. He knows that voice. Hell for years he's been able to use his powers in such a manner as to block Rogue's own gifts.... but he wasn't focusing on that at the moment so it is rather a shock when she touches him unprotected. "Why 'ello dare chere.. Someone been practicing." He says with obvious pride for his friend. He takes the drink from Sam and smiles, Though the little move from his ex has completly derailed his train of thought about alian invasion movies.

Rogue has posed:
"Wouldn't really call it practicing. I've just gotten a little outside help. Though I ain't sure how long it'll last, but it seems ta be still workin' for the moment." Rogue offers, and then shifts to settle on the couch, taking the drink from Sam. "Thanks Sam. So how you two been lately? Seems I ain't seen hide nor tail of anyone in a long while..." Well, except maybe one, but she's not saying anything about that just yet.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Working a lot is a good bit of it, been trying to work with the students when I can." He admits. "Seems like you have been busy practice or help, good for ya." He holds his drink up in salute."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods slightly in agreement with Sam's assessment. Rogue sitting on the couch does stir Jack who looks up and turns around to put his head in Rogue's lap for ear scratches. He tilts his head and looks at Rogue curiously, happy for her but also mildly concerned. "So yah powers are jus' turned off chere?" he asks curious.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue does give Jack ear scritches and then side eyes Gambit for a moment. "Well, Hank built me that shower thing so I can cover myself with powder that stops my powers until I wash it off..." She offers. "But truth be told. Yes. Mister Sinister turned off my powers. Dunno how long it'll last, but it's gotten me through the last couple of days and I've never felt better." Then she glances to Sam. "Is it Club Evolution you run, Sam or something else? I forget."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, Berto bought it a while back, and I run it. Have been able to help a few bands get off the ground with it. Had a few big names play, and even my kid brother and his band have played there." He is unsure of the whole Sinister helping but he keeps the thought to himself.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau doesn't. "Chere have yah lost yah damn mind? Dat man is pure evil. 'E's a demon. No, scratch dat. Ah've met some demons dat woul' draw lines Sinister would tap dance across." His eyes looking positively on fire.

Rogue has posed:
"Maybe he's done some evil things in the past, but that doesn't make him inherently evil. He does for the good of himself and those around him." Rogue says this much and then narrows her eyes back at Gambit. "And don't go lecturin' me on losin' my mind by workin' with him..." She sighs and then shrugs. "Anyway. The deed's done. It'll wear off soon... but it's let some other things come to pass too and for once in a very long damn while I'm *happy*... so sit on it, Swamp Rat."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will hope that her powers come back, and makes a mental note, that Sinister may now be able to either copy her powers or turn hers off mid fight. He will also plan to talk to her a bit more about this when she is calmed down, but lets her and her on again off again bf talk this one out keeping his head down.

Gambit has posed:
If there is one topic that will alway press Remy's buttons, it's sinister. If there is one person who /can/ always press his buttons, it's Rogue. This will end well surely. "Yah t'ink it's 'ypocracy?!" he asks raising his voice slightly and causing Jack to pull away and duck under the bumper pool table. "It's experience. Oui, Ah danced wit' dat devil before, and Ah know de price 'e charges foh it. Spent years trying ta get dat black off mah soul. /Still/ trying."

Rogue has posed:
"Then maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge people doing the same thing. I've tried *everything* else, Remy. Everything. And maybe there is a price and I'll pay it when it comes, but for the freedom I've been able to have, it's worth it." Rogue offers. "I even know the price you paid for being such a dancer with this particular devil...but that's just because you went stupid about it." She sighs. "Fucking christ... it was a good day too, after an amazing day yesterday....would be that I run into your stupid ass and have it ruined..." She stands then, and begins to head right back to the exit from where she entered - but she's NOT gone yet.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to the two and sighs, and should not open his mouth, but well he can put his blast field up if need be. "What's done is done, smart, dumb, or somewhere in between, right now enjoy the good side of it, and when the other shoe falls, we deal with it as a family, like we deal with everything around here." He will sigh, and says "We worry about you cause your family Rogue, and as someone who can be overprotective, it comes out worse for those we care about."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau knows that he should shut his mouth. As in right now. He knows it in his mind, his heart and his very soul. He doesn't /do/ it, but he knows he should. "Dat's it Rogue. Run away. It's yah biggest tactic when yah don' like someone speakin' de trut' ta yah right?" His eyes are glowing now with hellfire, standing and facing her back, his fist encased in pink energy.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue stops about halfway to the door. "Sam. You're right. Absolutely. We're all family here, and we look out for each other.." She turns then and looks at Remy. "You call this speaking the truth? The first words outta yer mouth were aimed ta make me feel like dirt. Lower than. And you ain't the first to talk about it to me neither. Hank and I have already talked about it. Only he was a gentleman about it... like he always is..." She glances to the fist encased in pink and then back to the hellfire eyes. "Try it, Sparky. I dare you."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie sighs a bit and he tried. He will take his drink, and moves towards the pool table, and kneels down motioning Jack over to him, ready to protect the dog if things go boom.

Gambit has posed:
It's the history, both for Rogue and him as well as his own history with Dr. Nathanel Essex. "Mah words are aimed ta make someone who Ah've always considered importan' ta me realize she's los' 'er damn mind." He says angerly. Though he doesn't make any move agressively. The eyes and even the glowing hands an emotional reaction, not a sign of on coming violence. "Henri doesn' know what dat dark place look like chere. Ah do, and yah damn well should."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue sighs. "You're angry. I get it. And I kinda knew you were gonna get angry, but I also wasn't going to lie to you either." She says this much, trying to keep her tone a bit more even now. "And maybe I shouldn't even try to justify it...but it happened...I can't take back that it happened. I can just enjoy what's come of it happening. Like being a bit more free, not having to worry about merely brushing against someone and going on an actual date. With an actual person and holding their hand and...such..." She sighs. "I'm...going to go...I should go check in on my boyfriend anyway."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie keeps his yap shut now. Momma Guthrie only raised him to be so foolish, and he has met that quota.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau is often temperamental, but his mental finally gets ahold of his temper and he manages to clamp his jaw shut. Hard. Then he simply heads for the side door outside. Likely going to go to someplace high and brood as he often does.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue growls low and then sighs. "You forgot Jack, ya ass!" She calls after the brooding cajun and then rolls her eyes. A glance to Sam and she holds her hands up. "I'll be in the gym. Or maybe in Hank's lab." Then she turns and heads out.

Gambit has posed:
Jack looks from Rogue, to Remy, To Rogue, to Remy, to Sam then stands on his back legs and looks up at Sam with one big eye... Maybe this means he'll get a treat.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will take the dog into the kitchen and finds his own beef jerky and shares with the dog, spending a bit of time, petting and telling him he is a good dog.
