Just a Little Nudge...
Date of Scene: 03 March 2022
Location: Raven Park - Harlem
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Storm, Scarlet Witch, Polaris

Storm has posed:
Seated cross-legged upon a bench within the park is where Ororo Munroe happens to be. It's around nine or so in the morning, and she has her hands resting lightly upon her knees, her palms facing down. Her blue eyes are closed, and her white hair falls over her shoulders and back. She sits up straight, and to those who might be able to sense it, she's using her mutant abilities to reach into the weather. It's a thing she's done many times before. Nudging and tugging at the patterns of the weather.

Sitting near to her on the bench is a tall insulated paper cup, a tendril of steam rising up from the drinking hole. Ororo wears a purple sweater and a pair of black jeans, mid-calf black boots, and a black leather long jacket. Dressed for the weather, at least. Her breath fogs in the air in an even pattern. The weather, at the moment, is a clear blue sky, sunny and just below freezing.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff is dressed as she does tend to dress. Namely, a deep crimson leather long coat. Under that are black boots, black jeans, and a darker green tee shirt. Her hair is loose as it does tend to be, and hangs past her shoulders and down her back in red waves.

Walking through the park, she seems to have actually walked to get here, for there'd been no tale tell signs of her magic herlalding her arrival. Sensing familiar power, with the weather, she smiles as she spots a familiar face. She wanders toward Ororo, but doesn't interrupt the weather witch in her craft. That could be dangerous. Not that Wanda couldn't corral any stray lightning bolts, but why make extra effort she doesn't need to expend?

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane wears a long green coat over a black top and slacks, the top cut low enough to show a bit of cleavage in spite of the cold weather. Lorna always has liked attention, being the baby of the family. Her own powers may be palpable to Ororo, the magnetic field of the Earth shifting around her like a lodestone and causing ripples into the other elements in their wake.

When she sees Wanda, however, catching sight of her before Ororo, she cannot help but call out, "Wanda! My god, it's been too long!" she says, gliding forward slightly aloft to close the distance to try and get the Scarlet Witch in an embrace!

Storm has posed:
The weather witch continues to nudge and tug the threads of the weather. There's a storm that's brewing somewhere off beyond sight from here, and that is where her focus happens to be. To ease the brunt of that front edge of it, and to attempt to do it by just enough to ease the damage it might cause while still allowing the storm itself to come. It's a delicate balance of threads, and what she's done will have to be enough at least for now. She makes a soft sound which might be hard to read the intent of, then gives a faint shake of her head.

The shift in the magnetic field is perhaps not lost on her for the impact it has on other things. Ororo draws in a deep breath and lets it out slowly, and one of her eyebrows quirks upwards a touch. She holds her attention to the weather for a long moment more, and then she opens her eyes. Her gaze first falls upon Lorna, and then to Wanda, studying each in turn. She reaches out to her cup of tea, then picks it up. "My apologies for my distraction," she says, inclining her head slightly towards the pair of them, a smile touching at the corners of her lips.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
As she hears her sister's voice, Wanda turns. A smile appears, warm and welcoming. Wanda holds her arms to either side to close them around Lorna. She doesn't mind higs from people she knows. "Lorna," she murmurs. "How have you been?" It had indeed been some time.

The hug is held for several long moments before Wanda eases back. Just enough to get a good look at her sister. When Ororo speaks, Wanda's attention shifts to both of the women. "You were busy, Ororo. It's not a problem. How is everything at the school?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane smiles, "I am well. Doing my best to keep Genosha running while father is on sabbatical," she says. With Magneto absent, Lorna is the functioning queen of that mutant nation, despite her youth, having remained closer to their sometimes villainous father than the other children. "How are things with you? And Pietro, I haven't seen either of you in too long!"

She turns her head, curly green hair forming a mane around her face as she nods back to Ororo, "You are always a welcome distraction, Ororo."

Storm has posed:
A smile tugs at the corners of Ororo's lips, and she inclines her head slightly towards Wanda at her words. "Yes. I was," she agrees, a soft Egyptian accent to her words. "It will do for now, but I will need to keep an eye on it now and again through the day. Just in case," she says softly, a thoughtful tone to her voice. "Everything at the school is well, thank you. How have things for you been?" she asks, curiosity in her voice.

Her gaze turns towards Lorna, and she lifts her cup to take a sip of the tea she holds. "I am glad for that being the case," she says, a smile tugging her lips. "How have things been, in Genosha?" she asks, curiosity to her voice.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff sobers just a bit. "How is father?" She will ask, even if her relashionship with their father is somewhat... rocky. "And how are things on Genosha?"

The smile returns easily, though. "I second that notion. You're always a welcome distraction, Ororo." She nods at everything being well at the school, her expression going thoughtful. "How is Kit?" The question is soft, and frol her tone, it's easy to hear the worry within Wanda's voice. "Well enough. Busy but for moments here and there for a walk in the park."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane smiles, "Officially, we are always on alert and showing our strength to the world to keep them afraid of attacking us. Unofficially, it's kind of boring right now. Things are going really well. And father's doing okay, but I don't hear from him much. He's doing some sort of scientific research. I'm afraid it's a little beyond me," she shrugs. "But I like the diplomacy part of being royal. Even if it still feels a little strange sometimes," she says.

Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe gives a soft chuckle to Wanda's words, and she gives a nod to her. "Thank you, Wanda," she says, a warm tone to her voice. She takes a moment, savouring another sip of her tea whilst she considers Wanda's question of Kit. "He has been doing well. I have kept an eye on him as I can. He has been practicing his parkour, of late," she says, sounding a touch amused at that. She, too, practices parkour, but she was raised to it in the streets of Cairo.

"It is a good day for taking a walk. The weather will hold until late this evening, as best as I am able to guess it. Then the snow will come," she says, a thoughtful tone to her voice. She looks to Lorna, listening attentively to the woman's answer, and she gives a small nod. "Diplomacy can be a tricky thing, sometimes, depending on who sits at the table. It is good to hear that things are going well," she says.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff nods to that. "I know that feeling," she says, tone a touch on the dry side. She tends to be always on the alert, if not always showing her strength. Maybe she has too many irons in the fire, as it were. "Glad he's doing well." She chuckles a soft chuckle at the diplomacy part. "Better you than me," she says. "I never was much for diplomacy." Brute force is more her style. No, really.

Wanda closes her eyes for a brief moment. "Speaking of busy but for moments..." She opens her eyes and looks over both women. "I must go. Take care of yourselves. Let's do tea sometime." She steps back from both of them, and holds her hands out to either side, just a bit, as scarlet energy engulfs them. The energy spreads, covering her whole body. And when it clearas, Wanda Maximoff has gone. Off to... something.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane sighs as her sister vanishes as quickly as she has appeared, "So it has always been with her. But she was raised by travellers, so I suppose that comes with the territory," she says, clasping her hands behind her back as she regards Ororo.

"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with this Kit. Is he a paramour of yours, Ororo?"

Storm has posed:
The weather witch watches Wanda, and one of her eyebrows quirks up a touch at her mention of bine busy, and then she gives a small nod. "Such is often the way of it," Ororo says softly. "Be well, Wanda. We will do tea soon, and perhaps lunch," she adds, a smile turning at the corners of her lips. She watches as Wanda vanishes in that scarlet envelopment of her magic, and then she lifts her tea to take a sip of it.

"There are worse things to be raised by," she comments, a touch of amusement to her voice. She had been raised by the streets of Cairo -- and thieves. Her gaze turns back to Lorna, and she raises an eyebrow slightly before giving a chuckle. "Ah, no. He is not a paramour of mine," Ororo says, her blue eyes showing a sparkle to them. "He is one of the students at the school. A teenager," she adds, a smile turning at the corners of her lips.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane ahs and nods, "I was one of those, once upon a time, god or goddesses help me," she says. "I was a wild thing in my own right. I still am, sometimes, given the opportunity, although I have to keep at least a modicum of self-control given my current position," she says.

"And I have no objections to Wanda's upbringing. Both of the twins are pretty amazing, given what they've been through. Father...failed them. He failed all of us, for a time. I've let him try and make up for the past. They...are harder to convince. Maybe because they had more time with him during his...darker periods."

Storm has posed:
"Once upon a time, I was one as well. They were interesting years," Ororo says, a smile quirking her lips. For her, it also involved a change in location -- from Egypt, to New York City. "I think many people have a streak of wildness within them. It is not a bad thing. It is simply a part of a person," she muses, considering it for a few moments. She lifts one of her hands to make a slight gesture. "Any wildness that was within me, I had to learn to control or witness the havoc of it in the weather," she adds, a small smile touching her lips.

She chuckles softly, and then she gives a small nod. "There is little that can be done for the upbringing that we each have had, other than to accept it for what it was and move on one day at a time. They are quite a pair, Wanda and her brother," she says, a thoughtful tone to her voice. "The relationship between parents and their children is quite an individual sort of thing. Each person has a different one," she adds, lifting one of her shoulders in a small shrug. Her own parents, she doesn't mention -- they died when she was a child. "Actions tend to speak louder than words might. They have seen more of the darkness, so it is likely harder for them to believe that he might be otherwise," she muses, a thoughtful note to her voice.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane crosses her arms over her chest, "I suppose sometimes I seem naive, that I think Father's some sort of saint. Because I'm loyal to him and try to make him proud," she says. "I needed him when he came to me. More than they did, I think. They always have each other. I didn't," she says, her eyes blazing a little bit.

"I just wish they'd see the other side of him, too," she says. She shakes her head, "I imagine you were quite something in your wild years. Didn't you have a mohawk at one point? I'm not I could pull that off, even with green hair."

Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe raises an eyebrow slightly at the woman's words, and she lifts one of her shoulders in a bit of a shrug. "I would not particularly say that you seem naive," she says, a thoughtful tone to her voice. "He was there for you when you needed him, and that gives you a different experience with him than what they have had. It does not make yours or theirs either right or wrong, it is simply different," she muses, giving a small nod.

"They had to be there for each other. It is for each other, I believe, that they each survived and got through the years when they did not have anyone else," Ororo says in a soft tone. "It is up to him to prove himself to them. Another cannot, I fear. Perhaps they will come to see the side of him that you see or perhaps there will always be a rift. The future is unwritten and ever changing," she adds, a smile touching at the corners of her lips. She chuckles before taking a sip of her tea, and then she lifts a hand to make a slight gesture. "It may have happened," she comments, the corners of her lips quirking.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane smiles, "I would've liked to have seen that, I think," she says. She floats a little in the air in her own right, almost taking a seat within the bosom of her power. Unlike some mutants that try to hide what they are, Lorna radiates her energies constantly, almost showing off, defying anyone to say something about it. Again, perhaps her father's influence.

"You've lived a hell of a life to get so damn wise so young, Ororo," she says. "I can only hope I am as thoughtful and considerate as you while making decisions for Genosha."

Storm has posed:
"It is unlikely to happen again anytime soon," Ororo comments, one of her eyebrows quirking upwards. She watches Lorna float there, and even though she could do the same, she remains seated there on the bench. She lifts her cup of tea and takes a sip of it, savouring the brew of flavours. Not unsimilar to Lorna, she doesn't hide what she is, and there are tells when she uses her abilities. Though her openness may have something to do with having been treated as a goddess, once upon a time.

"Wisdom is a hard won prize for the experiences that life can put in one's way. We learn because we must," Ororo says, a smile quirking at the corners of her lips. She takes a sip of her tea, and then she makes a slight gesture with the cup. "You will make the decisions that you feel are best. For Genosha, for the people. If they are right or if they are wrong, you will learn from them either way. And the experiences will give you more knowledge to draw upon for the next decisions that you must make," she says, a smile turning up her lips.
