Cast of Characters: Ravenna Levesque, Lucifer

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna doesn't work today, however she found herself gravitating back toward Lux. However she isn't dressed to party, instead she has on a pair of leggings and a loose fitting peasant shirt and has been working in the aitrium for several hours. While she's sure it is well kept, it's just the motions of weeding, tending and watering the plants (mostly with magic) that she finds so relaxing.

She stands and stretches as she pushes her hair out of her face. Her back cracks slightly, readjusting after being in that bent over position for a while. On a near by table she has a bottle of rose chilling, waiting for her to finish her task, while music is flowing out of a small blutooth speaker.

Lucifer has posed:
"Hey, Ravenna," comes the Bartender's voice. He walks into the garden with his shirt collar unbuttoned and vest undone; a 'casual' look that says 'off duty' as much as his missing apron, spotless though it might be.

"The flowers are looking good," he tells her. "Did you put down some new fertilizer?" he inquires, brushing his fingers along one blossoming rose. "They seem to have a healthier color. Looks like you've got a green thumb," he compliments the woman, stopping a few feet away from her with his hands in his pockets.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"Hello Nameless." Ravenna says as she reaches down to brush a bit of dust off of her pants. Though wasn't sure if he was ever off the clock she gestures toward his state of dress. "Just starting or just finishing." Walking over to the table she gestures toward the bottle of wine and pours a bit for each of them.

"A green thumb is one way to put it." She says as she idly reaches over to to an unopened white rose and it slowly blooms under touch. "There is a lot I love about this city, but it's lack of nature is one thing that absolutely drives me mad. Gardening helps push that suffocating feeling away." She presents him with a glass of the rose colored liquid and smirks. "You look thirsty."

Lucifer has posed:
"I come and go as I please," the bartender says easily enough, and honestly. "I thought I'd come up and say hello. Pay you some company. Oh, thanks," he says, accepting the rose wine and taking a sip. He puckers his lips, thinking. "A little sweet, but it's still well chilled. Probably too saccharine if it were warmed," he notes.

"There's a lot of life in the concrete jungle, if you know where to look; it's just mostly rats and cockroaches," he concedes. "There's something to be said for living, flowering things. The simplicity of plant life and how pleasant it is to be around them; just a little bit of effort by a dedicated hand is enough to resurrect a bit of nature in even the most extraordinary of locations."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"I suppose that is the perk of being so close with mangement." Ravenna smirsk when she notices the wine isn't to his taste, but than again, this wasn't a bottle she had intended to share. Still she takes a long sip from her own glass before she nods. "Occasionally I like a glass that I can easily drink and just enjoy. I can't always be on the clock."

"Ooo nothing like vermin to bring you back to life." She sahkes her head at him, that mood she was in a few days before obviously lifted from her shoulders. "Sadly I don't have the sort of power to really resurrect nature in a place like this, but in the corners I can, I do." There is a moment where a question lingers on her lips, but she lets that thought go for now.

Lucifer has posed:
"Hey, I'm not complaining about your tastes," the Bartender says, dryly, holding up his hands in surrender. "I'm allowed to have opinions too."

He grins and settls his hips on the bench formed by the edge of the planter, looking up at Ravenna. "Two things can't occupy the same space," he points out. "Nature and humanity will be at war for a long time. Someday, there'll be a revolution and people will realize the value of growing things; of forests and rivers. You might not live to see it, but rivers and trees will flow freely in cities that are grown, not built."

"That is if humanity makes it a few more centuries, anyway. Meanwhile, find what you can in little corners like this; enjoy the warmth of the sun and the fresh air the plants share," he tells her. "It's one of life's little pleasures."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"Oh you're allowed opinions." Ravenna says with a smirk as she continues letting her fingertips idly trace over the flower petals, causing more of the roses to bloom. When he speaks of this far away future she raises a brow. "Oh yes, I highly doubt I'll see that in my life time. At least not in this realm." Surely there is one thriving like that, but it probably doesn't have great wine. "Still, it's ideal, but... farfetched. I fear that we are governed by those who valure a different shade of green than nature offers."

She nods her head as she lets her hand drop to her side. "It's definatly quiet up here, you can actually gather your thoughts and even sort them out." And she defintly nas thoughts to sort out. "So what is it you do when you're not running an interdimentional bar?"

Lucifer has posed:
"Whatever I want," the Bartender says, again-- honestly. Candid. "Sometimes I follow my plan. Sometimes I go out and just live life among the humans. I once spent a few years as a plumber in Jersey just to see what it was like. It sucked," he says, dryly.

"But I can only screw around so much. Work to be done, people to be hired and fired and killed or harassed. Also, I like it here. The drinks are popular ad people seem to like what I do."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"A plumber? Honestly there is very little fun that can be had in plumbing." Ravenna says in a mirrored dry tone. "Are you really that interested in being human that you would take such a job? In Jersey? Surely you could have picked any other profession." Still she settles in on an opposite planter and looks at her handy work.

"Someone has to make the bar shine and stab people when they get uppity. I obviously like it here myself, since I came in on my day off. Than again, idle hands are the devils work, as some would say." There is only a hint of a smirk before she shrugs. He may have noticed how many hours she puts in, the over time and extra shifts she picks up, it seems she needs to really keep herself from idleness.

Lucifer has posed:
"I've done many jobs over the years," the man assures Ravenna, smirking back at her. "The human condition is interesting at times. Mundane," he concedes. "But still interesting. I like to know how people think. What drives them and motivates them. As enlightened as humans like to think they are, it's almost always sex, hunger, fear, or greed that's pushing them into one direction or another."

"I notice you don't spend a lot of time out of the wine cellar lately, either," he points out. "Don't you have a new boyfriend by now? Girlfriend? Something beyond lurking in the hotel all day, waiting for your shift to start?"

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"We need the mundane to to show us how great the non boring things are." Reaching over to the table she pours herself some more wine before she continues. "You forgot guilt based obligation. Though I don't know if that's a motavation." She says thgouthfull before she continues. "The others are, for sure. I know a lot of people will say they do things for love, when it's really just sex they're after."

She snorts out a laught at his question and shakes her head. "It is a very large wine cellar, and I am slowly making it my own inch by inch, it takes time." That same smirk returns before she shakes her head. "I have horrible taste in partners, so I don't allow myself the time to have one. It's easier that way."

Lucifer has posed:
"Fair," The Bartender agrees, wrinkling his nose. "Even I forget that once in a while, and I'm old enough to know better. C'est la vie," he says, with an easy laugh, shifting his hips on the planter. "It's the one part of the human condition you really can't do without," he tells her, shrugging one shoulder. "Partnership requires vulnerability. If you don't have any partners, can't be vulnerable. Right?"

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"I occasionally have bits of wisdom." Ravenna shrugs as she listens to his plight. "So I'm guessing that your most recent study of the human condition did not go well?" Considering she hasn't seen Jess in a while, and shels also making a lot of assumptions about their relationship. "It's not so much the vulnerablility, just the demand of someone else wanting to insert themselves into my life. If I had a partner, they'd probably want my attention on your most busiest nights, and I know how that would vex you." She says with a toast of her glass, happy to use work as an excuse.

Lucifer has posed:
"It did not," The Bartender confirms. "She seemed to take my treatment of that worm a little less than congenially. I thought my actions were fairly tolerant, all things considered; it's not as if I couldn't have killed him. Or done something else vastly more hideous," he suggests.

"If you did find a partner, however, don't let /me/ stand in the way of it; I don't resent you having a personal life," he tells Ravenna, brow lifting. "Frankly, I don't even mind you foolign around with the customers. Just don't do anything that ends up leaving a corpse on the property?"

Apparently, that's a very real problem at Lux.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"They all can't go the way that we planned. Things with Anthony were not supposed to turn out this way, but they did and I am happy to move on from it." Ravenna says with a nod. His other comment causes her to shake her head. "Tempting, and in my weaker moments I might give into that. However I don't kill if I can help it." Self preservation always wins in the end after all. "My magic is tangled in life, taking it could weaken those abilities, and I have enough weaknesses as it is."

Lucifer has posed:
The Bartender shrugs at her. "I'm not terribly worried about it, but we /do/ have some ethical standards in place; a bar with a reputation for being good for customers is preferable to one where people are worried about getting eaten."

"It's... look, it's come up before, so I figured I should be blunt," he says, rolling his eyes at himself. "Anyway. What -would- make you happy? Or should I just leave you to your work in the gardens and wine cellar, for now?" he inquires, sounding genuinely concerned for her.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"I'll refrain from giving into my cannibalistic urges for the bars reputation." Ravenna responds dryly as she smirks, though his question causes it to fade quickly. The concern in his voice causes her to furrow her brows. Slowly she pushes off of the planter and turns to look at her handy work. "That answer is very complicated. For now, my work brings me satisfaction. I will have to be happy with that."

Lucifer has posed:
The Bartender nods and finishes his rose, rising from the planter. "I'll leave you to it, then," he tells her-- but he pats her shoulder once, giving it a squeeze, and he flashes one of those smiles that feels like the sun slipping around stormclouds, light and sincere. Warmth like a bowl of warm soup radiates from his hand against her aura, just for a moment. "But if you need something; if you think of something that'll make you happy-- you let me know. I'll see what I can do to help. I don't have so many friends that I'm inclined to simply ignore them," he remarks, before stepping away and sauntering towards the rooftop door again.
