The way to get in
Date of Scene: 22 March 2022
Location: Lower East Side, Manhattan
Synopsis: Clint meets Saoirse while investigating a strange warehouse.
Cast of Characters: Hawkeye (Barton), Saoirse Flynn

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
It's late. It's cold? Scratch this, it's more than cold and the torrential rain makes it quite a miserable night. Most people prefer to stay inside, avoiding the elements.

Standing by himself near a hotdog stand that probably closed business hours before, Clint Barton keeps his eyes on the surroundings. The coffee in the cup has been gone for a time already, but he keeps pretending to be drinking it as part of his cover. A recess between buildings protects him from the rain, while offering some cover from the light emanating from the streetlamps. Wearing his "civvies" as he calls them - your average Joe's city clothes - Clint looks just like anyone, drinking a non-existent coffee and checking his messages on a broken cellphone occasionally.

"C'mon, damnit. Move!" he says in a low voice, talking to himself as he glances down at his cellphone. "I can't believe no one flushes their toilets 'round here."

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse is dressed for Super Comfort wearing tmp_hNqCMf_f3baf2e915b40a52_GettyImages-905546456.jpg - she's walking a bit slow through the rain. She's rather drenched sure, but she doesn't mind so much. Though she comes to a slow pause as she stares at Clint.

"Uh. What're you doing with that hotdog stand? It's closed you know."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Of course, he spotted Saoirse approaching. So far, most passers-by went their way without talking to him, which suited him just fine. He could just ignore this woman and keep his eyes on the tracking device on his phone. But hey, this is Clint Barton we're talking about. No matter how dire or serious the situation might be, he'll never turn his eyes away from a nice looking woman.

"Oh, you don't tell me," Clint replies with humor, offering a lopsided grin. "Hrm, nice... er, jacket," he adds, chuckling. While talking, Clint keeps the cellphone out of Saoirse's view.

And then, just as luck will have it, the cellphone starts emitting a quick series of bips, as if it was monitoring something approaching.

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse gives a nod "Mmmhmmn. It's closed. See, noone selling hot dogs." She starts to approach curious "Do you need a place to stay? There's a homeless shelter not too far, you can get out of the rain. And a hot meal. And if you keep your phone out in the rain it's going to get wet and short out. Unless it's one of those waterproof ones. I'm not sure how those work. I mean *how*. They use electricity, but no zap. And they can charge in the wet? How?"

A peek at the phone "Someone is trying to message you I think."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Frowning lightly, Clint raises the cellphone enough to check the data, which clearly shows that something is approaching. He's been waiting for an eternity - actually, twenty minutes - to finally get the signal he was looking for. And there, at last, it shows that the tracking device is moving towards the abandoned warehouse across the street.

"Don't worry, ma'am," Clint replies, his eyes on the phone for a moment. "I've got my own place, yeah. And it has a roof to boot." Now his eyes back on Saoirse, he still sports this smile of his.

Thinking that the woman doesn't pause any treats, and visibly enjoying the company, the archer offers some explanation before she starts asking questions.

"Just dropped my car keys in the storm sewer ," he explains, "They've got a GPS tracking on 'em. Now I know where they went, so I can retrieve them. Well," he chuckles, "I can't wait for the city crew, so I guess I'll have to find the nearest underground entrance. Next, to find a way to open whatever cover it might have."

Of course, this makes half sense, a guy trying to enter the storm sewage to find his car keys. Ah well, New York City has its share of weirdoes. Maybe the woman will look at him oddly then leave. After all, chances that she would actually help him lift a sewage cover are slim. Weirdo or not.

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
There's a little bit of a blink "Well I would hope that it would have a roof. Otherwise you'd pretty much still be outside wouldn't you?"

She listens to the explanation then looks at the screen if he'll let her. "It sounds like it's moving though? How would it do that if it fell? Where did you drop them? I can bring them back up, but your not supposed to go in there if your not city personnel. It's dangerous down there, and wet, and really stinky. You don't want to go down there. Do you have a spare key at home? You could go get your spare key right? Maybe take an uber? Or a taxicab?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With a low chuckle, Clint shakes his head in defeat. Scratch the idea of moving in the storm sewage for now, there's no rush to infiltrate the abandoned warehouse just now. The tracking device confirmed the best route, he'll have to explore it tomorrow.

But something she said brought his attention. Did she just say that she could bring them back up? Interesting. Of course, he could just drop the matter and pretend that he does actually have a spare key. Still, why did she say she could retrieve them?

"You're right," he says after a moment he hopes didn't appear uncommonly long, "There's no way I'm going there. But hey, what did you mean, you could retrieve them? How could you do that?"

His blue eyes search hers, as he tries to remember any face matching hers on SHIELD records. Try as he may, he's sure he has never seen her anywhere before.

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse's face has been in some classified documentation a few years ago from a fiasco with Bionic Girl, and a disaster that almost set off a nanotech bomb over africa to transform people into nanotech machine people. She's also been a face of National Robotics, a robotics and automation company. Her sister Michelle is The Bionic Girl, the physical military face of the company. Saoirse is the softer face, on what technology can do to fix people instead of military application. And she's also been a face for Ultra Puff marshmallow's brand for a while.

"Well, if we can see them, I could probably yank them back up. I have some special tech from National Robotics. I can fiddle with gravity and boop, bring them back up. I can't see any keys though. Can you tell me about where you lost them at?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Ah! Yes, National Robotics. He saw a file on it, and maybe even a debrief to which he didn't give much attention, as usual. SHIELD meetings can be such a bore.

Pocketing his cellphone after deactivating the tracking device, Clint shakes his head. "Naw," he says, "Don't bother, it's not even my car, boss' loss!"

With that, he tosses the empty cup of coffee in a nearby trash can. "Now, s'cuse me for asking, but what do you mean by /fiddle with gravity/?" He pauses, always smiling, "And most importantly, whatabout a warm place where we can share a coffee?"

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse shrugs her shoulders "Well, I have gravity manipulators installed and other stuff. Because my body is enhanced by Nanotechnology. So I can do stuff that other people can't. Like float. And pull things up. And eat and not really gain a lot of weight."

There's a purse of her lips "But don't you already have some coffee your holding? And that isn't very nice to your employer. You should at least let them know. Those keys are expensive. And how are you going to get home then if you drove here? I hope that you don't get a parking ticket, that could go on their record."
