Frank Castle and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Part II
Date of Scene: 20 March 2022
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Synopsis: Detroit, it's a magi- who are we kidding, it's horrible
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Punisher

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
While there may not be as many of them on the road due to the staffing shortages, it's not uncommon to see a bright red bulky box on wheels driving away from the scene of a medical emergency. With it still being the early AM, one ambulance is making great time without having to use the siren. Be it a general courteousy to the slumbering residents or their current cargo didn't make it to the right spot on the procedural flowchart. There's no pomp and circumstance involved save for the tiny police escort traveling near the ambulance.

And why the police? Well to answer that, one must know just WHO is in the ambulance.

Obviously there is someone driving. And while typically she'd be the one in the back of the ambulance treating the patient, her partner took one look at who was going to be transported and forced the switch, placing a rather solid wall between her and the going ons in the back

Despite the siren being off, the back of the ambulance had a special guest. So special that instead of just the patient and one paramedic. There was the addition of a cop. His partner is the one driving the police car traveling with the ambulance. The officer is pretty quiet, seated on the side of the bench seat closest to the door, looking between the other two in the back. His hand doesn't stray too far from his belt. Seemingly expecting SOMETHING to go wrong.

The medic in the back however is a bit busy doing his job to care about the cop staring their way. Despite the patient's reputation, he's not hesitant in doing tasts that require reaching over them.

As for the why? Well, currently the patient, one Frank Castle is slumbering away on a mechanical gurney which each of his limbs strapped down to prevent any issues should the man wake. So far it has worked.

But then again, so far Frank has been out cold. Hence the need for an ambulance to begin with.

Punisher has posed:
Waking up after a hit to the head /and/ being blown up. Yeah, Frank might have the pain tolerance of Batman, but even he would feel that.

Now, with the headache and ringing in his ears, Frank remains stoic... though he breathes deeply as he tries to focus his senses.

After a moment, he opens his eyes, getting a good look around... and seeing where he is, checks himself visually. Gear web taken, can't feel the commlink... did they check the hidden places on the trenchcoat or the bodysuit? No. He can feel the small cutting knife.

Without a word, Frank remains stoic as he acts resigned, even as his right hand works on not being noticed as he works on cutting the straps...

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Getting a sense of movement to the side if his vision, the medic turns his head to look to Frank, "Oh good you're awake."

The cop breaks his silence with a scoff, "Joy."

The medic looks over to the cop for a moment before turning back to Frank. He reaches to his pocket to pull out a pen light, clicking it on. "For the time being you're in our care. I just need to check a few things. He holds up a gloved finger, "Without moving your head, could you follow my finger with your eyes?" The light shines to the side of Frank's eyes as the finger sways back and forth.

Punisher has posed:
"Right, guessin' you're the types who think I'm a lunatic." Frank casually notes as he looks at his straps, then looks to the finger with his eyes.

The more attention taken from the knife, the better. "How long have I been out?" He almost grates.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"It doesn't matter what I think." The paramedic states, dismissing Frank's statement touching up on the lunacy. "You took a bit of a blow to the head and were out long enough for us to get there and load you up. Reason enough to get you checked out. You've heard of Walk and Die Syndrome before, right?"

The finger lingers to one side while the medic stares to the side of Frank's eye. "Ok, Thanks. You can stop." The pen light clicks off and the medic slides back from the gurney, the pen gets slid back into the pocket before there is the rip of velcro. The medic brings a tablet up, unhooking the stylus as he starts tapping through the screen with it. "Good news, or bad news depending on how you want to view it, is that we probably won't keep you long."

The cop looks over to the paramedic, "This is a waste of time. You know that. He should have gone straight to jail."

The medic rolls his eyes at the cop, "Do you want me to quote you on that for the report? Sure his lawyers would love that."

Punisher has posed:
"I know about it. I did medic training in SpecOps." Frank states, matter of factly. Then, Frank glances to the cop, "How'd you get your badge? Anyone with a brain could sue you into oblivion with that. I know my rights." Frank stoicly informs him, the strap finally cut through.

The knife is slipped back into the sleeve, and the other one is taken out for the other strap then and Frank gets to work on the other side.

"Or do they teach asshole in the local academy?" Frank asks.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"I wouldn't mind him right now." The medic comments, still working with the tablet, "He runs his mouth but you still ended up on the ambulance. Okay...Are there any medications you are currently on?"

The cop glares at Frank, "Yeah...It helps with communication if I can speak your language."

"WOAH!" The paramedic glances up, "This is NOT your shop. Chill. And you." The paramedic points to Frank, "Less provoking. More answers please. Are there any medications you are currently on?"

Punisher has posed:
"Cops like him are a dime a dozen and the reason I got into this war." Frank tells the medic, speaking of the cop as if he isn't there. "Guess they just take anyone these days. Diversity qoutas being what they are." Frank looks back to the cop, "How's it feel to be at the bottom of the gene pool?"

The second strap is almost cut... just need to get the cop to take a swing to counter him and take the gun and taser...

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The Paramedic groans, rolling his eyes as Frank continues. "Stop prov-"

"YOU SHIT!" The cop who seemed SO calm before has managed to substitute his usual complexion with that of a common Nightshade vegetable favored by both the Heinz and Hunts clan. But the visual of that, while striking, is of little importance as the cop sets out to do what Punisher intended.

Unfortunately...

Things don't always go to plan.

The tablet lands on the bench as the paramedic charges forward, managing to tackle the cop back into his bench. "NOT YOUR SH-"

The Copmato is having none of this and manages to get back onto his feet, directing his anger towards the paramedic, "FUCKING FIREFIGHTER!"

And so the struggle is real, around where Frank's feet are.

That is until the driver, who can hear the commotion through the wall looks through the mirror to see what's going on and promptly breaks. While the paramedic is braced against the foot of Frank's gurney, the cop trying to strangle him is not and with the forward momentum of the ambulance gone. Nothing is stopping him from continuing on the path.

THUNK!

The cop hits the wall near Frank's head.

There is a silence other than the paramedic's rasping for air and the screech of brakes of the cop car that's following the ambulance.

There's no further impact.

Punisher has posed:
The best part? As they wrestle, Frank casually undoes the straps at his feet... and by the time the cop is on the ground, Frank is on his feet and punching the man just enough to knock /him/ out, before taking his gear quickly and efficiently.

Then, he turns around and looks to the medic, "You seem like a good kid. Stay there and you'll be fine." He takes the pistol, takes out the magazine, and grunts. Lethal rounds. Useless for his purposes. Sliding the magazine back in, he replaces it into the holster and looks back to the medic, "Just take a seat and this will be over quickly."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With Mater down for the count and the medic just trying to get his lungs back up to ideal capacity, there's little in terms of resistance as Punisher collects some new toys.

The driver turns her head, looking through the window to the back of the cab, "Rauri!"

Hearing the voice, the medic turns his head, holding up a hand in a halting manner towards the partner.

Being he's not far from the floor already he just lets gravity help him the rest of the way.

It does look like he's complying.

As for outside the ambulance, it's suspiciously quiet.

The officer's radio crackles on. "What's your status, MPD231?"

Punisher has posed:
"Sorry this had to be on your shift." Frank tells the medic, moving up to the back doors, before he hits the radio himself, "He's takin' a nap. You'll be dealin' with me for now." Frank tells the other end, "don't suppose you'll walk away to the pavement and give me some room? I'd rather not turn this into a firefight." The implication being he will do it. The Punisher is well known for actually opening fire on cops... because he's a world class marksman capable of disabling without much trouble.

Still hurts like a bitch, though.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
To the mention of a firefight, the paramedic's sensibilties regain enough to have him raise up a hand in interjection before pointing to the other side of the ambulance. He'd like to not be near the door if there's going to be shooting, thank you very much. Ok?

There's a lengthy pause on the radio before it starts up again. "You know I can't do that, Castle." The voice on the radio states.

Punisher has posed:
As the medic asks with his hand, Frank nods and gestures to the other end.

Then, he pulls the pistol, hitting the radio again, "My name is the Punisher. Frank Castle died years ago." A pause, "Guess all the officers with sense left the city already."

With that, Frank kicks open the doors... but doesn't leave yet, immediately checking his immediate visual range for any targets he has to disable.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the gunman giving permission to move, the medic scootches quickly towards the back. Opting to position himself behind the more solid bench than the open structure of the gurney.

As the one door swings open, there's a glimpse of a solitary police car, door open and the officer standing a bit further back. leaving a bit more of the car to help with slowing down projectiles.

Despite Frank's cautions, what comes out of the officer's lips next is telling of two things.

"PUT THE GUN DOWN!"

"I SAID PUT THE GUN DOWN!"

"PUT THE GUN DOWN!"

Punisher has posed:
"Amateur." Frank mutters to himself, before he fires off two shots, both at the tires of the police car. Then, suddenly, Frank dives out of the ambulance, into a combat roll, and dashes away from the ambulance and into the nearest cover, all the while firing at the gung ho officer whenever he tries to pop up his head.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Frank starts off with his first two shots, Cop Ho ducks behind the car. One of the tires pop, while the other ends up being spared from an early demise. But perhaps that second shot's accuracy was sacrificed for something better. Mainly not getting hit by the officer's shooting when he did the roll dash.

There are a few more shots exchanged. One shot of Punisher's is off and the officer's to a lesser margin. But eventually the Cop's shots stop as he falls to the ground, giving an urk of surprise.

Punisher has posed:
It's always the ones trying to make a name for themselves. He's out of the picture without being killed, and that's what matters.

Making a dash over to the officer, the Punisher knocked HIM out as well, then grabs all the gear... including the key to the trunk of the car. "Bingo." Punisher mutters, before going for said trunk to grab his gear. His first grab? The commlink, "Microchip?" He asks as he starts getting his gear web and other accessories.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The officer groans as Punisher makes his way over. The gun which had fallen as he fell lays just out of reach but that doesn't stop him from making a feeble reach for it. It's an action with little reward as he's promptly knocked out.

Gunfire done with and the officers out, the ambulance is quiet as both of the medics are hunkered down as best as they can.

There's a soft sound of sirens in the distance.

Punisher has posed:
"Bring the Battle Van around. Got a bunch of amateurs trying to hold me." Frank tells Microchip as he fireman carries the knocked out officer over to the ambulance and desposits him into it. Looking at the medic, he nods, "they're coming." Punisher notes, before he starts walking off into the night.

"This has been a very weird night." Frank dryly notes to Microchip.
