High Flying Fun
Date of Scene: 03 April 2022
Location: Danger Room - X-Men Base
Synopsis: A bit of showing off, a bit of parkouring around, trying not to die and a REALLY blushy yeen. Yeah, these are fun things to experience while hanging out with one of your closest friends.
Cast of Characters: Kit Killovarras, Jax Miller

Kit Killovarras has posed:
There's a time for being secretive and a time for being weird and today? Today seems like as good a time as any to be a little of both in pursuit of some amusement. A yeen can be found in the lift, having messaged a particular feline with a simple:

"Meet me in the lift? -.o"

He's wearing his normal cloths for when he's going out hunting, but it's the middle of the day and the temperature isn't exactly the greatest for a hoodie, especially for those who have fur to deal with as well.

Jax Miller has posed:
It's a Sunday, the lazy day, the day to be, not to put too fine point on it, lazy. And on the seventh day, he resteth... Granted, it's something Jax needs no excuse to do, but today he was feeling particularly indolent, surrounded as he is by several stack of paperwork scattered willy-nilly around his room, his bed, his desk, and much of the floor. The buzzing of the phone is seen as almost an intrusion on his time of inactive introspection, contemplating as he was the infinite and the mysteries beyond, especially that part that can be found behind closed eyelids. Indeed, is the mind not a universe onto itself?

    Meet me in the lift?

There's the sound of scattering paper, and Jax appears in the corridor at such a speed that he needs to use the opposite wall to corner and start dashing towards the lift, still pulling on his hoodie.

By the time he slides into the lift (a mere seven seconds and two-tenths after receiving the message), he's the very vision of eagerness and excitement, wide-eyed and wide awake.

From a laying start to a full sprint in less than three seconds... if someone could ever manage to harness that kind of energy, the world would be a different place indeed.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
The eager look gets a little laugh from the yeen as he eyes the feline, "Well aren't we excited today?" he says with a grin, then tilts his head a bit and asks, "Hey, you remember the little training course we set up in the yard?"

A course of course that was made of pallets, a few two by fours and some other things that could be relocated at will, nothing special really, but it was fun to jump around on. It is also, of course, the place where Jax had been helping the yeen learn a bit about jumping and balance.

There's a little fidget with the control panel and the yeen's grin widens. "Well, apparently we wound up with an upgrade." Aaand the lift starts going down.. Very down!

Eventually it stops in the lower base and the yeen walks off the lift and into the well lit chrome-walled corridor that is the X base like he's been here before and makes his way over towards the Danger Room.

Jax Miller has posed:
"Hey, you saved me from a whole afternoon of watching pie charts and reading legalese. Stuff so dense even Mister Stark had to put it through a supercomputer just so I'd be able to read it." Nope, not a hint of shame at the craven name-dropping, or the unintentional joke at his own expense. Nothing there but the usual Jax smile and a whole lot of pent up energy that had a whole of, oh, twenty seconds to accumulate. He's actually bouncing on his toes as the lift descends, although he does seem to miss a bounce when it starts to descend further than expected.

"Hey, I don't think we're s'posed to be..." *DING* Huh. Well, if his friend is going to boldly walk into the forbidden corridors, he'll be right behind him, striding as if he belongs down here. "Wait, there's a parkour gym down here? Awesome!" Of course he remembers the obstacle course, and he'll never admit it but he goes back there far more often than he should just for training purposes. He likes to climb, and jump, and move around... and there's only so much of that you can do in polite society. Sometimes a cat just need space to be a cat, far from prying eyes.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
"Sort of," Kit says as he walks into what could initially be declared a warehouse.. Large empty room with a slight, hexagonal motif and an observation window on one of the walls. The yeen then spins on his toes and spreads out his hands with a wide grin and a somewhat excited, "Ta-da!"

It's a massive, empty room, no obstacles set up, nothing but flat, smooth-ish walls and a yeen being derpy near the doorway. Or, at least that's what it is at the moment.

Jax Miller has posed:
"Whoo." Yup, it has to be done. "Echo!" Because a certain kind of person can't walk into a large open space without seeing how many times they can get their voice to bounce back. Jax's ears swivel and tilt as they track the echoes back and forth, making the cat mutant grin. "Man, this place is amazing. If we can drag enough stuff down here, we can make the most epic parkour course this side of the Atlantic.

Indeed, the wide open space offers plenty of opportunity to fill it with all sorts of home built challenges, and it seems Jax is wholly ignorant of the technology that is hidden in the walls... and floors... and ceiling.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
The yeen walks over and nuzzles the feline gently, taking a moment to partially zip up the felines hoodie as he muses, "Why would we want to bring stuff down here? When I can do this.." Then the door shuts behind them and the yeen tips his muzzle up and chimes off with, "Run simulation Skyline-03, authorization profile, Killovarras."

And then the room around them is gone, replaced by the skyline of New York around early evening from the vantage point of a skyscraper. Everything about it is 'real', the sights, the sounds, the depth in the imagery? The walls just disappeared and were replaced with nearly endless distance. The wind is even spot on for the time of day and up this high? It's both strong and COLD!

The yeen is practically grinning ear to ear when the scenery suddenly changes and even pokes his tongue out for a moment before he asks, "Whatcha think?"

Jax Miller has posed:
For a good few moments, Jax has no idea that techno-magic has just occurred all around him. Not when he has Kit that close... his attention is entirely taken up with other things. But his nascent purr is lost when the wind whips across the rooftop, and finally he seems to come back to the present. It's comical how wide his eyes get, seeing as how he never routinely opens them more than half way. What more does he need? But now his eyes are large and almost luminous, taking in the scenery beyond his boyfriend.

    "Whoa..."

It's inevitable that, as he walks to the edge of the roof and looks down while bracing himself with one foot on the coaming, the wind catches him /just so/ and his hoodie and fur stream alee in possibly the most photogenic way possible. He could be an actor in the latest action blockbuster, rather than a student discovering the secrets of the danger room.

"Forget best parkour gym this side of the Atlantic. Try best parkour gym this side of the galaxy..."

Kit Killovarras has posed:
There's a gurder passing by about ten feet down and eleven or so out form the building when the feline goes to look down and all the yeen manages to get out is, "Come on!" before he fairly effortlessly flings himself off the edge of the building!

He's had a LOT more practice since the first time he and Jax were training. His jump is a lot more graceful, there's more power and even more certainty behind; and there would have to be to make that jump! There's a few steps suddenly taken as the thing starts to overbalance, right up to the cable and hook, where the Yeen grabs on and turns to look up at Jax, that smile of his never fading.

In his defense though: This is a simulation he's run several times on his own.. How many times do you think he fell before being able to stick that landing once? Let alone with any skill.

Jax Miller has posed:
Oh now, that looks like fun. Jax still doesn't know if there is some serious technology at work, or his friend has just gotten very good at this whole magic thing and brought them halfway across the state in a matter of moments. But that jump looks challenging, and there's a swell of pride when he sees Kit manage it with speed, style, and grace.

For a few more moments Jax remains on the roof top, looking at the girder, the roofs beyond, the whole skyline of the city to explore. And then a wide grin appears on his face, and his ears perk up in that pose that gives away his intent to do something utterly foolish and irresponsible.

    "No brakes..."

And with that whisper to himself, he launches himself off the building to land on the girder with seemingly no effort, his tail swaying to assure his balance, and then he's tearing along the length of the beam, heading for the next jump beyond.

    "No brakes!"

Kit Killovarras has posed:
The 'No brakes!' yell gets a laugh and a yeen following close behind, the next jump being a HUGE fifteen foot gap and ten foot fall onto a large tarp-covered platform and this? This is right about where the illusion breaks, since the yeen ENTIRELY overshoots the gap and misses the building entirely!

There's a sudden yelp, a momentary shimmer in the air and then the world returns to being one giant room a few moments later with the Yeen on his back, laughing like a bit of a maniac.

Well, someone's having fun at least.

He gives a look at Jax and sticks his tongue out playfully, his tail wagging a mile a minute. "Still not overly good at that second jump."

Jax Miller has posed:
The jump comes up, and the girder actually sways slightly when Jax pushes off. In mid air, he seems to stretch out to catch some more air and extend what seems to be almost a horizontal glide to the platform. His feet just about get underneath him as he hits the tarp, using the momentum to duck and roll, turning vertical momentum in horizontal impulse...

And he finds himself back in the empty room, sprinting for a ledge that's no longer there. Huh.

It's nigh comical how the cat mutant slows down, from dead sprint to a jog, turning in a wide circle to go back to the start, offering a hand up to his friend on the way past. "There's no way you could have made that first jump when you started out. That's some amazing progress."

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit catches the hand and uses it to get himself up, leaning on the feline a little as he explains, "Yeah, I've been in here fairly often in the last few weeks. Helps to be able to get around if you can practice getting around." There's a moment where one of his ears fold to the side, but he's still all smiles.

A moment or two later, the system resets and the two are back on the original skyscraper roof. "And thanks, but all I did was take your advice." Then he takes a moment to look around at the view and adds, "Plus, I honestly like the view from here, even if the sound carries from the streets a bit, it's a lot more peaceful up here."

Jax Miller has posed:
"Man, you took my advice? Gotta be careful with that, 'cause half the time when I give advice my brain isn't involved, y'know?" A wink and a quick flash of his tongue, just to reinforce that serious is not something Jax does habitually. But he does have his moments of actual solemnity, as Kit well knows, and usually only when there's nobody to overhear him except his chosen audience. Like, well, now really. They might not actually be on a lonely roof somewhere in the city, but it feels like it, and that's what matters.

Silently, Jax approaches the edge of the roof and just looks out over the skyline. The wind is catching his fur again in just the right way, but this time he squints to give himself a slightly more serious expression, intoning just on the cusp of hearing for those who are blessed with excellent hearing

'This city desert makes you feel so cold
It's got millions of people but it's got no soul
And it took you oh so long
To find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything'

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit's ears perk up ever so slightly hearing the feline's melody, giving a little chuckle, then murmurs, "Set time to midnight." and the sky changes, but so does the lighting, the sounds and scents and so too does the yeen! Well, as much as he changes in the dark. His eyes start to glow a subtle purple.

"Well, lights are on." he says with a little chuckle. "Dunno about the booze and one night stands though. Never been my thing." that last part is added with a little grin and a chuckle.

Jax Miller has posed:
Ah, excellent! Mood, set. What joy to be able to command the world to be more dramatic on command. He's going to have to come down here more often. Jax' eyes glow with reflected light, the soft blue enhanced as he glances over to Kit with a grin. "But will you settle down, in a quiet little town?"

And at that, he steps away from the edge and approaches the yeen, still smiling. "Or are you always going to keep on moving?"

Kit Killovarras has posed:
As earlier stated, there is a time and a place for everything and this is a time and a place. Is it a time and place to be corny? Maybe. Kit just sort of noses at Jax as he approaches and gives a little smile and a slight shrug, "Depends on who I'm with. And in your case?" He tilts his head a little and winks, then licks the felines cheek and.. Well, he can't quite help himself.

"I'm never gonna give you up,"
"Never gonna let you down,"
"Never gonna turn around and, desert you."

There are meters going off some kind of chart somewhere and it's not a good thing, but derp's gonna derp. Thankfully he can't keep too much of a strait face doing that for the entire chorus.

Jax Miller has posed:
There's a moment of surprise when Jax gets rickrolled when he least expects it! But he can feel the lick on his cheek, and this is, after all, a moonlit rooftop, technically. So he reaches up slowly and takes Kit's face in his hands, looking the yeen in the eyes.

'We've known each other for so long,
You know the rules, and so do I'

This is, after all, a moonlit rooftop. There are conventions to be observed!

And so he leans in (and up, on tiptoes in fact) to plant a firm kiss on his boyfriend's lips.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Well, that wasn't EXACTLY what the aardwolf was expecting and when Jax kisses him? His ears perk strait up for a moment before he just sort of melts, wrapping his arms around his kitten as he just sort of leans into the affectionate gesture.

When it's eventually broken though, the yeen will just give a dazed little smile before he points out, "Umm.. Not certain but.." There's a moment where Kit just sort of chuckles and the smile becomes a sheepish little grin "I think..? This facility may record sessions."

Flustered yeen is flustered. At least there's a logical string to that thought though, since this IS a training facility in a secret compound beneath a school for mutants.

Even if it looks more and more like a nice, moonlit perch for two at the moment.

Jax Miller has posed:
"I don't care." Jax doesn't hesitate, and wraps his arms around Kit as soon as he can, snuggling up against the yeen. Even thought he's the older of the pair by just over six months, the casual observer could be forgiven for thinking it's the other way around. "What are they gonna do, give us detention?"

But then he looks up, slightly more serious now but still his usual irreverent self. "Or don't you wanna be recorded with me? Y'know, keeping your options open and all that?"

And then, finally, in a whisper that would require superhuman hearing to pick up "Or are you saying we should go somewhere more private?"

Kit Killovarras has posed:
"I was more worried about them trying to send Logan to 'have a talk' with us." the Yeen says with a little laugh, then pulls the feline into another kiss before he muses, "And besides, I figured we've already been recorded together enough for it to be obvious." with a playful little grin.

There's a little tilt of Kit's head as he asks, "Don't you remember?" sounding rather curious, one ear perked... Or at least it's perked for a moment before both of them twitch and fold, catching that last comment. He was gonna say something, but apparently he might have something stuck in his throat at the moment.
