We Need Someone REALLY Tiny
Date of Scene: 12 July 2017
Location: Manhattan
Synopsis: Several girls from the Legion of Superheroes go to talk to Janet van Dyne to ask for her help with a 'tiny' problem, Micro Lad.
Cast of Characters: Triplicate Girl, Dream Girl, Andromeda, Wasp (van Dyne)

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Luorno had, after a bit of research into Earth's technologies, as well as heroes, through her three selves finally found what she'd determined to be a viable solution to the Micro Lad busting up their Cruiser problem. Of course, Brainy wasn't around when she'd found out, so she told the two girls that were still there about her idea.
To go meet Janet Van Dyne, earth fashion designer - and the Wasp. A woman who could, according to public information and stories, control her size down to really tiny levels - and, fight Micro Lad, perhaps, on his own ground.
So, she'd led them, flying down through the atmosphere to New York City, and with a bit of fussing, ended up finding the studio to where Janet was purported to work from. She looked at Nura, and then Laurel both, "Well, here goes nothing."
The girl from the future - only one of her, at present, knocks on the door to Janet's studio, politely.

Dream Girl has posed:
Actually following Luoru, Nura is right with her as they land near Janet's studio. "At least we're human looking enough to not freak her out initially. At least I hope so." She says as she looks her outfit over. "Reading some old magazines, I look like I came from the comic 'Buck Rogers in the 24th century.'"

Andromeda has posed:
Laurel may not be quite so striking as Nura -- but then who is? -- although she's fairly memorable in her own right. Tall young women in red-and-blue blouse-and-miniskirt outfits that resemble a color-flipped Supergirl often are, particularly when they fly! "I don't think we'll probably be the strangest thing she's seen this week," she says; "and maybe not the strangest thing she's seen today. Now, if we'd brought Cham with us ..."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
One would think that, being a premier fashion designer and CEO of her own company, Janet would have someone hired to answer her studio door. After all, it is a rather high-end establishment, located in the upper east side of Manhattan. One would think that someone with Jan's status as fashionista, social butterfly, and super hero no less would be much too busy to just answer a knock at the door, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

    One would think wrong.

The door opens and standing within the opening is a petite form...only 5 foot 4 inches. Of course, considering the outfit worn, there is no mistaking that it is Janet van Dyne herself standing there. With her matador-inspired ensemble, she does seem much too dressed up to be working. But, spied in the hand that is not holding the door is a moleskin notebook, flipped open to sketches...no doubt of the latest fashion line she is working on. And yet...she seems non-plussed by the unexpected intrusion. Even....happy. The trio of callers each get a glance in turn, with eyes lingering longer on some than others.

The expression on Janet's face briefly clouds with mild confusion before returning to bright and cheerful. "Hello! How may I help you?"

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Luorno looks absoultely pleased, "Hello. Ms. Van Dyne, isn't it?" She beams, warmly, offering, "This is my friend Andromeda. And, Dream Girl. I'm Triplicate Girl. We're -- from a long ways away. I was hoping you might have time to see us. We have a unique problem, and, well, after a lot of research, we think you might be able to help us out of a rather difficult situation."
Luorno looks quite sincere. She pauses, adds, almost as an afterthought, "It's not about fashion, or anything like that. But, this, according to the records, would be the best place to find you." An apologetic smile is given, before she exchanges looks with her dear friends.

Dream Girl has posed:
"And you're one of the more 'unique' people to help with our 'unique circumstance', Ms. Van Dyne." Dream Girl says softly. She then looks to Laurel. "We're better for the task at hand anyways, Andromeda." She then smiles and winks.

Andromeda has posed:
"The perfect person," Laurel chimes in. "It's a really /small/ problem, but it's not a /minor/ problem. If you see what I mean." She directs a tiny little grin across at Nura, before turning back to Ms. van Dyne. "Do you think you could spare us a few minutes?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
There is a tilt of the head as the fashion designer regards the three upon her doorstep. "Andromeda. Dream Girl. Triplicate Girl. Code names....how cute." Jan's tone relays no ill intent....she actually is being truthful. "Well...then if this isn't about fashion...and we are using code names....then this must be related to my other job." With that, she closes her notebook and moves to slide it into a pocket...a pocket that seems much too small to accept the sketch book, and yet Jan slides it in easily. As if it shrank in size just before passing out of sight. "Please, come in! Oh, and call me Jan. Or, if you really want to hold on to callsigns, then feel free to use Wasp. I have a feeling you already knew that, anyways."

Janet steps to the side, using her free hand to usher everyone in. "Please, come in and you all can tell me just what brings you to me that doesn't involve fashion and is small but not minor." With the grin that is upon Jan's face, it would seem that she may have some ideas within her own head.

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Luorno steps in, but is sure two hold the door for her two friends, closing it behind them all. She glances to Dream Girl as if to silently ask if Nura had any kind of premonitions or assistance to make this little meeting go better, briefly touching her arm, and then sucking in a breath and nodding again to Andromeda.
"Well, it's like this. We're from - well, all over the galaxy. Our spaceship, our Cruiser, presently, is stuck. Pretty much broken, you could say. And we're trying to fix it. The problem is that, as you probably know being a hero here, being an upholder of justice in the universe earns yourself some enimity. One of our foes has taken to sneaking aboard our ship. And we can't find him. And, well, it lead us to you, Wasp."
She pauses, not exactly sure how much more she should go into. About the future, or anything. Usually not one hard pressed for words, Lu nods to Dream Girl, somehow feeling that her two friends voices might join in with hers to help her convince Wasp to assist.

Dream Girl has posed:
"Perhaps honesty will make things go a little more smoothly, Triplicate Girl." Nura says with a smile, and patting her hand. "She's right in saying we are from all over the galaxy. And we do have a unique problem that we have come to you for help. Aboard our ship, our mutual enemy has decided to 'shrink' down to where we cannot get to him, and....this unique trouble brought us to you, Wasp. For, Last we checked, you had the same ability. that is why the problem is 'Small, but in no way minor'."

Andromeda has posed:
"He calls himself Micro Lad," Laurel fills in, once she's safely inside (and the door closed behind her). "His real name is Lalo Muldron, from the planet Imsk. Everyone there can shrink down to microscopic size. And ... well, none of us who are on hand just how can do anything like that. I can /see/ down to that level, but the problem is that the field of view isn't very large, and so it's ... hard to find him." She looks a little peeved about this. More than a little, perhaps. "We'd really appreciate it if you could help us -- or even if you could recommend someone who could, if you're too busy."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
As the door closes and Jan's three visitors get down to telling her what is going on, Jan's expression shifts from pleasantness to more confusion. First, it was the admission that she has intergalatic personages standing in her studio. Then, it's the fact that there is a spaceship involved. And then there's the fact that there is a possibly microscopic villain roaming around somewhere on said ship. But...when it comes to the why...specifically for Jan to hunt down this 'Micro Lan'...only then does the confusion clear up somewhat. "So, essentially, you are asking for me to take care of a tiny problem that is bugging you." The smile returns to her lips as she leans up against the wall. "You don't have anyone in your group that can go down to this guy's level. Not even from the future? That's very interesting."

A hand lifts up, in a stopping gesture. "Now...before you go asking, the future thing is just a guess. But, really now. Coming to my studio door rather than my corporate building or any one of my many apartments? Talk about 'records' that made it so easy to find me and know what I do?" Jan laughs. "Now, I know I am kinda famous here...but you can't tell me that I am intergalatic famous. And...dressed like a refugee from a science-fiction movie? If you didn't have a little historical help, then you three are very good actors." The hand flips into a half-wave. "Not that I don't already know some very good actors. It is just that normally actors and superheroes are two separate breeds."

    "Well...except Simon."

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Luorno looks appropriately sheepish for a few moments, "Your heroic identity is a matter of public record," she points out, "But, yes, we are from the future. And it's our goal to return to our own time. Micro Lad is one of the things preventing us from doing so. We believe that he was actually sent back for this very purpose. To delay our return." Luorno frowns, severely and looks to Nura, then to Andromeda. "But, we have seen your heroes on your video displaying terminals. We are dressed quite similiar to many of them," she points out, somewhat curious as to how Janet pinpointed their futuristic garb.
"No matter. We know you do not know us. But, we hope you can assist us, regardless. That you can trust us." Luorno again shares a look between her two teammates, and then looks back to Janet, hopefully.

Dream Girl has posed:
"I believe it's called 'television' Triplicate Girl." Nura says before looking to Janet. "But yes, we are from the future. We just can't say how far. And we do ask for your help."

Andromeda has posed:
"Oh dear," Laurel says, a little bit dismayed. "Brainy's going to be very unhappy if he finds out people know we're from the future." It doesn't even seem to have occurred to her to try lying, not that it would do much good with her teammates thinking along much the same lines. "We do have a member from Imsk," she says, "but she's gone missing. That's part of why we need to get the cruiser working properly again, so we can see if there're any of us stuck outside this solar system."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"You say that as if it is a bad thing. The future bit." Janet waves off the thought with a twitter of her fingers. "Honestly, I didn't know completely. It was only a hunch. Women's intuition, you can say. You...just confirmed it for me." She glances over to Luorno and flashes a sly grin. "And yes, your clothing is similar...but not quite. I *am* a fashion designer, you know. I know futuristic when I see it, real or imagined." That brings up a giggle to Jan's lips. "Look, I can see the whole secret keeping bit is near and dear to your heart. You don't have to worry...I won't tell anyone." With a wink, Jan continues. "And you can be sure of that...since you already have records of me from the future anyways. So...you already know I won't tell anyone, right? That's the beauty of time travel." Another giggle..."Oh, Hank would have a field day if he knew...."

Turning back to the three visitors, Janet gets back to business. "So, you want me to go small to find your little stowaway. Are we talking microscopic? I mean, I could do that...but I usually only go to about half-inch. Hank is the one that usually goes microscopic. Says it helps in his research when he can see things eye to eye or something like that." A light shrug is given. "I mean, I will more than happy to do it. After all, you came all this way just to ask. Seems silly to just say no when it can be so much fun. I just want to make sure I can actually do it, you know."

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"He could be microscopic," confirms Luorno, to Nura. Then, she pauses, saying quietly to the others, "We all knew she might find out. But, if we're going to get Micro Lad off the Cruiser, she is -really- our best chance. And, she -is- a hero. If we can't trust her, then, we shouldn't be leaving the Cruiser at all." Not that she's upset at either of her friends, she knows Brainy too. "Leave Brainy to me. I'll tell him. This was my idea, afterall."
She pauses, and further explains to Janet, "He's running around in the ships's systems. Breaking things. Any help you can provide would be - greatly appreciated. We'll probably need to loan you a ring, once the preperations are made, so you can get into outer space safely."

Dream Girl has posed:
"Actually, Wasp.....the records show that you were more.....reliable...than Dr. Henry Pym. and more.....mentally stable." Dream Girl makes a bit of a face. "fashion designer or not, you're still a hero......" She says softly before looking to Luornu....and holds up a Legion Flight Ring. "Like...this, Triplicate Girl?" She then looks to Wasp. "I'm not batman, but I'd wear him out."

Andromeda has posed:
Laurel accepts Luornu's thoughts on the matter of their being found out with a nod. "He'll be unhappy," she agrees, "but he'll get over it. Especially if it gets the Cruiser in proper working order again." Nodding to Nura, she then offers to Janet: "And, if you like, one or two of us can stay here just in case something comes up that you'd need to handle. So nothing gets missed because you're away!"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet turns to Laurel with a bright smile. "Oh, honey, New York is lousy with superheroes. They could do without me for a little bit. And I wouldn't worry about anything else. I do have people that work for me. They can handle the business side for a bit." A sideward glance is given to the one called Dream Girl, in particular about the mental landscape of one Dr. Henry Pym. There isn't a comment verbalized...but there is something brewing in the back of Jan's mind. "Ah...that would explain why I was chosen first over Hank. It is true that he can be a little off-balanced and distracted...especially if he is in the middle of a project." Leave it to Jan to offer defense for Dr. Pym.

Finally, Jan turns to Luorno. "Well, you definitely have one thing right. I am a hero...or at least I try to be one. If there is anything I can do to help, I will. I would even try talking Hank into giving up one of his suits...but he is so particular about his secrets." The ghost of a smile, full of mischief, curls the corners of Jan's lips. "Besides, not every day I get a chance to go into space. I would love to do it. May even give me an opportunity to design that spacesuit I always wanted."

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"Excellent. We will head up, and make the arrangements, and be in touch very soon," Luorno promises Janet, looking pleased, and sharing that expression with both Dream Girl and Andromeda, doing well to reserve her excitement that her plan has worked so well. "We will be in your debt. Thank you. But we probably should let you get back to your work. We've kept you too long as it is."

Dream Girl has posed:
"I do apologize for how it sounded." Nura says softly before looking to Triplicate girl. "Do you wish for me to give her the ring now, or wait until she's ready?" She then chuckles to Andromeda. "Just say it, Andromeda. You want to be one of her fashion models. Admit it." She teases Andromeda.

Andromeda has posed:
Laurel's cheeks color. "No, not at all!" she protests, failing to realize she's being teased. "But, um, we'll look forward to seeing you again. We've had the /worst/ time trying to deal with this fellow. Lyle and Brainy have been going crazy working on little microscopic traps and, and sensors and things. It'd be such a relief to have him captured."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Well...I will certainly be happy to take care of your small problem." With that, Jan seems to be in good spirits. "If you three want to stick around, you certainly can. It wouldn't be the first time I worked in front of an audience before. Or....if you want to be a model, just let me know and we can totally make that happen." A wink is tipped to Laurel in passing. It's Jan's way of making Laurel sure that the petite Van Dyne is indeed only kidding with her. Mostly. "Otherwise, if you don't mind, I have a fall line to finish designing." With that, she reaches back into the pocket and fetches out the moleskin notebook that is much too big for the pocket it came from. Crafty use of Pym Particles makes storage all sorts of easy, it would seem. "Oh...and if you ever need something that is more passable for this century, just let me know."
