Closed Session At The Studio
Date of Scene: 01 May 2022
Location: Shaw Studios, Lower East Side
Synopsis: Clint and Skye escort Nick to meet Wade at Shaw Studios. There's a lot of talk about Bob.
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Hawkeye (Barton), Quake

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Sunday evenings aren't known to be a busy time for most businesses and for Shaw Studios that is no different. From outward appearances, the studio appears to be mostly closed. Save for the emergency lights casting enough illumination for the remaining staff to see around them, the lighting is severely hinting that people should be home by now.

However, Shaw Studios does have some odd schedules from time to time. One person who entertains one is currently situated in his simply furnished office, door open so anyone coming by can peek in.

The only person who could would be the second story security guard Gary, a longstanding employee of the studio. As for downstairs, his counterpart Larry guards the first floor, patrolling the first floor from time to time. But currently he's situated at the front desk, waiting.

As for the what, well. That is the form of one Nick Drago. Dressed down in his usual Goodwill attire and hair tucked away to give the appearance of shorter hair than normal. Due to the warmth of the sun having gone away, he's also wearing a jacket, covering up the scar that the tee underneath fails to do. Glimpsing Larry through the windowed door, Nick brings up a hand, rapping upon the door frame.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
There was no development in the "Drago case", and as far as Clint Barton is concerned, the rock star is still under SHIELD's protection. Which meant that when Nick decided to go to the studio, the archer had naturally volunteered for the duty.

For the occasion, Clint had traded his tactical suit for a less conspicuous outfit, wearing dark jeans and a 3/4 black leather jacket. Slung over his shoulder is a sportbag containing his weapons.

Walking behind Nick, the archer tries to look like a normal Joe, although he's probably succeeding in looking more like a bodyguard.

Quake has posed:
Skye was late. She didn't even have a coffee cup in her hand!

Once she had the correct address, and spotted the guys in their 'street clothes', she chuckled to herself. ~Looking good.~ Of course she did it in sign. ~Should I stay here, or come up with you guys?~

As such, she hadn't crossed the road, and pretended to use her telephone to check out Facebook, or something.

For herself, she's dressed in jeans, and a top. Very plain. And a jean jacket.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Hearing the rap on the door, Larry turns his head to look to the door. An assessing look is given to the one with Nick before he focuses on the smaller male of the group. There's a slight nod before the sound of the door unlatching can be heard.

Nick tugs upon the door, holding it open enough for the others to get their hands on it.

The musican smiles over to the guard. "Hey Larry." He greets, nodding towards Clint, "He's with me tonight and we got another who is running a bit late."

Larry nods, "Are they going to be long? You could just hang out there and vouch for them when they get here."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
Hearing Nick explaining about his companions and seeing that the guard seems less than concerned, Clint turns to sign back at Skye. ~All clear. Come with us.~.

The archer holds the door for Skye, trying his best to refrain the large grin from appearing on his face.

"Yes, bro, why don't you vouch for us?" he says, "It's not like we're gonna make any trouble."

Right, trouble is Clint's middle name. Hopefully, Nick doesn't know it. Even if this might be an "official" mission, it doesn't mean they can't have fun. Everything is about the definition of /fun/.

Quake has posed:
"Speak for yourself!"

It didn't take anytime to catch up to them. Skye wonders, "Soooo.. what's the plan? How long are you going to stay, Nick. Is this a studio session, or to pick up a few things?" Hey, those are two different things!!

While she went in, she checked out the big burly bodyguards, and the entrance to the studio.

Of course she rolls her eyes at Clint. "You realize we're on the clock, yeah?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
An assessing look is given towards Clint as he speaks up, the head turns, looking over towards Nick who is looking towards the door. Once Skye is in, Nick looks over to Larry, "Those two. No one else is planned."

"Mmmhmm." Holding up a finger, Larry reaches for the phone.

Skye's questions cause for Nick to look over to her. "I'll be here as long as I need to be here." He replies, "You know, you two didn't HAVE to come."

"...Nick's here with a couple of guests." Larry comments into the phone. There's a pause as he looks up once more, looking over to Clint, eyes glancing to the head and then to the arm. "...No. Looks like a Bob who got the memo. And a lady."

Larry moves the phone away from his ear as the sound of laughter errupts from the other end. When the sound dies away, Larry brings the phone back to his ear. "Alright."

Hanging up, Larry looks over to the trio, gesturing in the direction of a grand staircase that leads up to a second level. His other hand reaches over for a short range radio. "Alright, Mr. Shaw is ready to see you."

As if he had any other appointments this late.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The archer frowns, listening to the conversation, and whispering between his teeth, "Oh, from Joe to Bob, I'm getting good at it."

Hearing Nick's reply to Skye's question, Clint grins. Suuuuuuuure, Nick's enemies would /never/ think of keeping an eye on the studios, in case the rock star decided to risk his life by dropping by. Huh.

"Yeah, maybe next time you'll have Bucky with you. Y'know, feeling like walking in here with a T-Rex by your side. And I'm not talking about the rock group."

Turning slightly and making sure only Skye could see him smile and sign to her as he whistles a well-known song. ~Bang a gong, get it on, lady?~ She too, should be worried by this almost angelic smile of his.

Quake has posed:
~A lady? Where there fuck did he get that from? I am /not/ a lady.~ Sheesh.

Skye laughed at Nick. "Between you and Bucky, I'm more afraid of Bucky. We're coming whether you want us to or not." Or until he phantasms out of here.

"Ooooh.." ~You got nerves, Hotshot.~ Oh yes, Skye and Clint are carrying on their own little convo. Though it doesn't seem to be directed around Nick.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
There's a twitch to Nick's lips as Skye rejects the idea. He shakes his head.

As the trio makes their way up to the steps, the sound of Larry's voice can be heard above as a short wave simply announces 'Plus two.'."

Upon reaching the second level, another security guard waits, smiling to Nick and the others. "You know where to go."

"Thanks Gary." Nick replies, walking down the path to another hallway area. Halfway down, he turns to his left, stepping into the open doorway of an office.

It is a simply appointed office, A desk splits the area to two distinct areas. To one side, a futon set into the sofa position rests, and to the other, there is a desk chair with a blonde man in his early 30s occupying it. The desk is pretty clean, save for a laptop, there's just a solitary framed photo on it of a group of young men standing next to an older gent. Two of the figures in the photo seem familiar. One being a younger version of the blonde while the other is Nick, more or less as he looks now.

The man glances up as Nick reaches the doorway. "Nick! Come on in!"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The archer nods at Gary as he follows Nick to the office. As he passes the door, Clint quickly assesses the office. Left, futon. In sofa position. Don't go there, buddy. Center, the desk and the guy, probably the famous Wade. Judging by the photo, Nick and him have known each other for a while.

Clint stays by the door, inside the office, waiting to see if Nick will do the presentation. Not that he'd need any, his job being to keep his eyes on his protege. Which, again, doesn't mean he can't glance at Skye once in a while. No ASL is used for now, as it would be difficult to do so covertly.

Quake has posed:
"Some spies should take a look at this setup.." To say that Skye was impressed is an understatement. Of course she says that sotto voce.

Following the guys, Clint stays just inside the door; Skye was not so polite. She walked into the room; assesses; and seeing as there were two seats on this side, she took one. No, she certainly wasn't frightened. In fact, she gave Wade a bold stare as if to say "Yes?"

She almost took out her cellphone, but decided against it. Barely.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Nick steps over, Wade gets up from his chair, revealing him to be pretty casual in his attire. Along with the designer blue tee, he's wearing a pair of nice black jeans. Moving to the side of the desk, the taller man pulls Nick in for a brief hug. "It's good to SEE you again. God things, have been crazy." Letting Nick go, Wade looks over to Clint and Skye and then back to Nick. "Picked up a pair of Bobs?"

Nick shakes his head, "Nah, I like them." He tilts his head in indication, "Wade, meet Skye and Clint. He tilts his head back to Wade. "Skye and Clint, meet Wade Shaw. We've known each other for about 11 years. We were in Silver Round together."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With a smile, Clint steps forward to shake Wade's hand. "Nice to meet you, Wade," he says, "Always nice to meet Nick's friends." That said, the archer resumes his position by the door, leaning against the frame, trying to look like someone just casually waiting.

Not like someone trying to keep an eye on the whole room and the corridor.

Glancing at Skye, who went in as if it was her own office, with a pop-star-like attitude, Clint is tempted to sign something, but refrains. That grin on his face, if she reads it correctly, would let her know of his appreciation of her acting. Act? Or is she just demonstrating that she is not, indeed, a lady.

Quake has posed:
Now Skye flashes a grin at Wade. Whether or not she means it was a whole other thing.

"Sorry, I'm not a Bob. . Unless you mean a bodyguard." She shakes her head, negatively. Then she adds, "And I'm not a lady." Jeesus H. Christ. Where did they get that from??

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Seeing the offered hand, Wade shifts over to take it, giving it a firm shake. "Welcome Clint. Wish it was under better circumstances, but...Welcome." He watches the man move back to the doorway before looking over to Skye. "...Ah. Yes. Kind of short for that. The guards you've encountered have had their experience with odd situations before. And they were here when another of your colleagues started following Nick around. Well. Tried. Not very personable. Wouldn't give a name to call him so we just called him Bob." Wade shrugs, "That one turned out to be nothing though so.."

Nick glances aside but with Wade's positioning, he can't see the younger rocker's face.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
The archer hadn't asked about the Bob matter, knowing he'd figure it out later, someday, whenever he felt like he needed to know.

"Yeah, I've heard something about it," Clint replies. Did he? Or was it in some reports? He's not here to share the info he has, so he doesn't share what he knows. Other colleague? Wade might be mistaken, this will be checked.

"Don't worry about us, Wade," Clint states, "We're just making sure all goes smoothly, nothing more. Don't mind us." That said in a tone meaning that Wade and Nick should talk about their business and pretend the agents weren't there.

Quake has posed:
"Well, I would have given you my name." She would have! But which one..

Skye begins to relax a bit. "Actually we're his friends." What? He was a friend. Just because she also was looking out for him wasn't negated by the first. Of course Clint makes them seem official!

Heck, she pulls out her cellphone, and begins to surf.. well, ok, she begins to surf a lot of things. But they don't need to know it.

See.. a friend. Not a bodyguard!

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Wade looks to Clint and then to Skye at their somewhat contradictory statements but the reminder of what they were doing here in the first place wins out.

"Right. Back to business." Wade moves back behind the desk while Nick turns to look to him, "Well Nick, I have good news and bad news. Although you probably have an idea of the bad news from the past conversations."

Nick grimaces, "...The movie?"

Wade nods, sitting down his seat with a sigh. "Yes. That is cancelled." He bends down, dropping out of slight slightly as the sound of a file cabinet drawer slides open. "But, we knew that was a possibility."

Wade pops up, swaying to the side and back as his foot kicks the drawer shut. A small stack folders is deposited on the desktop. "As for the good news. I have come across a few project options where you don't have to be visible." He lifts up the folders as he lists them off, "Concept album recording... Some session work." He gives a half smile, lifting up a final folder, "In a bit of irony, Five Times is in need of a drummer again."

Nick's brow raises.

"Ok I know that one's live performances usually but considering the nature of the group, the security measures they take, and how well it worked last time. I'm just including that. You don't HAVE to take it. Oh, those are your copies by the way. Just, read through them and let me know as soon as possible if any work for you."

Nick is quiet for a few moments before he reaches over, collecting the folders. "Thanks, Wade. I will."

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
It's too bad that Skye is focused on her cellphone, because Clint would like to sign to her to remember that, as she said, they are on the clock. Obviously, they seem to understand it differently. Which is fine.

"Alright, guess it's a go. Take care, Wade," Clint says as he turns around, ready to leave.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Folders in hand, Nick looks to Wade again. "Be careful."

Wade smirks, "I think I should be saying that to you." The expression switches to a sterner one, "And don't forget to REST." There is an added emphasis to the last word as Wade reaches over patting the shoulder of the younger man, "At least you can control that."

Nick gives another nod, "I'll try."

Giving the best promise he can, Nick turns, following the other two out of the office.
