A late night bite to eat.
Date of Scene: 03 June 2022
Location: Fred's Diner - Mutant Town
Synopsis: And the three meet one another
Cast of Characters: Cannonball, Leon Kennedy, Wonder Woman

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is here in the dinner, after the club has closed down. The young man has ordered a double cheese burger, fries, and an iced tea. He has a tablet on the table, but does not have it on right now, stretching a bit while he waits for his food.

Leon Kennedy has posed:
The bell rang when the door opened, as a plump man in a red flannel shirt, and worn blue jeans, made his way back to his truck, which was parked outside. Before the door could close shut, a hand reached for it, stopping its progress.
Pulling it back, as the door opened outward on account of space, Leon Scott Kennedy cast a glance inside. A gust of wind blew in, sending a night time summer chill into the diner. A woman behind the counter thought to say, 'out or in', but stopped herself as the wind blew against Kennedy's hair in just the right way.
But her hesitation was short lived, no matter how good it made him look. "Out or in, bright eyes, you're letting in a draft." He chose in.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince had been part of a meeting on Mutant welfair for much of the day. Then the meeting had gone on much longer than scheduled. She didn't mind because it was very informative and production. As a respresentative of both the Justice League, and as the Ambassador for Themyscria, she had taken copious mental notes of ways they could improve the lives in Mutant Town and help further the cause of Mutant rights as a whole.

However, even an Amazon must eat sometime. By the time the meeting had resolved, it was already dark. But that just helped attract her attention to Fred's Diner. It was no small amusement that she realized it was the second diner she would be dining at within the last week.

Stepping inside, she was wearing a smart business suit jacket of royal blue and a matching skirt. An ivory hued blouse was worn underneath. The only visible hint of who she might be was the golden tiara with red five pointed star that rested on her brow.

Looking around, she moved toward a booth that happened to be close to the other customers currently dining.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and checks out as new people come in the guy gets a glance, but the lady gets a double look, he knows her. He may have not met her, but when your doing the hero thing it is good to know who the famous people are. He is wearing a nice purple shirt with the Club Evolution logo on the short sleeve of it. He nodes to each of the new people from his seat in a booth near the counter.

Leon Kennedy has posed:
If Leon Kennedy recognized either of them, it didn't show. He simply made his way to the counter, taking a seat on one of the far sides, so he could see the door. It has habit. He didn't like to have his back to any entrance or exit.
He was given one of those oversized laminated menus. Burger, burger, burger, burger, and oh yes, another burger. It certainly seemed to be burger heavy on the menu. They were also numbered for convenience of the staff. "I'll have a seventeen, with spicy fries, and whatever bottled water you have." Stay adventurous, Leon.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince did look at the other customers and offered a polite smile as she made her way to a booth. She wasn't self conscious. She was who she was. She did not attempt to hide it. Which is probaby why she seemed at ease when her arms were bent to rest on the table and her jakect sleeves pulled back to reveal the silver bracers on each forearm. They were not the kind of jewelry or accoutrement one would commonly choose to wear.

She took a menu and began to curiously scan over the items.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Welcome to Bushwick Miss Prince." He says in greeting to the woman as she comes near his table. "If your looking for something good, their bacon cheese burgers rock here." He offers in advice. Hope everything is ok for you to be about this time of night."

Leon Kennedy has posed:
The woman's bracers were unusual enough that Kennedy took note of them, and the accompanying tiara. He wasn't well versed in diplomats, or superheroes, as they usually were outside his purview, but Wonder Woman was both, as well as a fashion icon, and so much more. If that wasn't Wonder Woman, it was someone who was the spitting image of her.
Hearing her surname spoken by the other man only helped to confirm his suspicions. This put him in a decidedly awkward situation. Wonder Woman did not require any additional security, but he was still a federal agent in the presence of a diplomat, so he should offer his assistance should she need it. He considered phoning this in, but that would only draw greater attention to her. While still contemplating his actions, he ran a hand through his hair, almost seemingly doing it in slow motion.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince looks toward Sam and smiles, "Thank you. I am pleased to be here. And thank you for the suggestion. It does sound good." She then nods, "Yes, all is still fine to my knowledge. I was here to attend a meeting. It just ran long and I found myself hungry" she explained with a smile.

Diana cast a curious glance toward Leon as he appeared to be puzzled. She did not wish to pry, nor did she wish to be rude. So she offered a friendly smile and greeting. "Hello."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods and says "Heard a bit about that but Ah just run the club here in town, don't own it, so they didn't invite me, and if Roberto got the invite no one passed it down." He does not seem upset not to have been invited though. He will wipe his hand and hold it out in greeting "Sam Guthrie, Ah run Club Evolution, you should come by and check it out sometime, we try to have a bit for everyone."

Leon Kennedy has posed:
She sounded Greek, and the other sported a Kentuckian accent, but Leon had a more neutral one, a television accent. He grew up in Washington State, which like the rest of the Pacific Northwest, seemed to follow along with the Hollywood sound. Chris Pratt, Ryan Reynolds, and Ty Burrell being three examples, but then again, Sam Elliot was from Portland, and somehow had the most cowboy-like accent in all of creation, so who could tell?
Politely replying, "hello there," echoing the famous line by Obi-Wan Kenobi, as his food arrived, a bacon cheddar burger with barbecue sauce, and spicy fries, as well as their finest bottle of Evian, plus a napkin, knife, fork, and one of those trays with ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper, and anything else they care to include.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince looks back to Sam and smiles, leaning enough to shake the man's hand. "Hello Mr. Guthrie. I am pleased to have met you. Your club does sound interesting. I would like to see it when I have an opportunity. Thank you for the invitation."

She looks back toward Leon and smiles to affirm his greeting. "I hope your evening has been well?" she wonders of the man, wanting to be polite and include him in the conversation if he would wish to join.

Then she places her order, finally - the suggested bacon burger with onion rings and a strawberry milkshake. Because the menu says they are made from Hand-Dipped scoops of ice cream. The best!

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Well we are open most nights, Wednesday are our new bad nights, and the last Friday of the month we let the best bands of the month play then to get a bit more exposure. Trying to let mutant, human, and hybrid bands all get a chance to get a bit of exposure. Ah hope the meeting went well. " He does give her a firm shake, not trying to squeeze her hand, but a firm respectful shake as his pa taught him to.

Leon Kennedy has posed:
From where he was sitting, Kennedy would not be participating in the conversation, except that they three seemed to be the only customers this late. The Diner was 24 hours, so they were used to it. Mostly, they catered to passers by, people spilling in front a movie, show, club, or anything that would keep people up. They had regulars that made it worthwhile to stay open 24 hours. Plus the food was really good.
Kennedy folded a napkin over his lap, and picked up a couple of French fries with a fork, sliding them into his mouth, and chewing, before replying to Diana, with a bit of boyish charm meets dad joke, "Pretty well. My name wasn't in today's obituaries. The jury's still out on tomorrow. Name's Leon Kennedy." He wasn't much for club going. People who went to clubs had things like social lives. That really wasn't him, unfortunately.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince doesn't seem shocked by what could be viewed as a dark out look on life as observed by Leon. She smiles and nods, "I can understand that. Every day is truly a gift to be granted to each of us. I am pleased to meet you as well Mr. Kennedy. I am Diana Prince." She hadn't introduced herself previously because it appeared Sam knew her. But she did not know if the other man was aware.

Then to Sam, "That does sound like fun. I may have to bring a friend or two to enjoy the band performance with me." Her hand shake is equall firm. He would get the sense that she is much stronger than she choses to apply to the greeting for her own part.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "Well they are all welcome, and you as well sir." He says to Leon. He munches a few of his fries, letting the other two speak for a bit.

Leon Kennedy has posed:
Leon ate some more of his food, taking a bite of the burger, which was delicious, and it was clear as day that he enjoyed it by his facial expression. He licked his lips, wiping it with a napkin even though there was nothing to wipe, before adding, "thanks, Mister..." since he hadn't caught the man's name yet. He undid the cap of his bottle of water, enjoying a drink of it. A shame this place didn't have a liquor license. He enjoyed booze, but wasn't too fond of sugar drinks.
