Of hawks and robins on the watch.
Date of Scene: 06 June 2022
Location: Red Hook, Burnley
Synopsis: Robin and Hawkeye meet on a rooftop at night.
Cast of Characters: Hawkeye (Barton), Red Robin

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
It's late at night, and perched atop the rooftop across the Gotham Bank - Third of them - there's a lone silhouette keeping an eye or two on the surroundings. Dressed for the spy game in his SHIELD tactical suit, Hawkeye remains unseen by the few people walking the mostly deserted street below. Now, for anyone on the rooftop itself, they might see a glimpse of purple, here and there. The archer is mostly focused on the building across the street.

"Nothing so far," comes Clint's voice, followed by a barely audible sigh. "One of these nights," he sighs.

Red Robin has posed:
Red Robin had heard rumors of something going down at the bank, and he had set up a couple camera to cover the area, while he himself, was perched under a gargoyle on a small ledge. Spotting the purple and the figure along with it, he starts making his way towards the other man. SHIELD training is good, but can it hold up to training with the Bat? We shall see, as Red Robin makes his way over, trying to get within staff range of the other man before letting him know he is there.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
You aren't called Hawkeye for nothing. Although night is not the best time to keep aware of everything around you, SHIELD training is good. Hawkeye is better.

That said, while there is some movement on the rooftop that doesn't go unnoticed, the archer's attention is suddenly turned to a black SUV parking on the street below.

The question now is, to be caught or to catch? Trusting that he can defend himself if the shadow he thinks he saw with him on the rooftop decides to attack him, the archer keeps his attention to the mission. For now.

"Target in sight," the archer mentions over his comms, "Black SUV, lights off."

There a pause, while someone must be talking to the archer. "Nope. Must be on reccon."

At that moment, a young couple walks on the other side of the street, ignoring the parked SUV.

"That's a new skirt, Blondie," Clint comments over the coms. Silence, then a repressed laughter. "Naw, not tonight."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake does not attack, but he does have the staff ready to strike and close in as needed. With a very soft scan, his own wrist computer starts cycling through radio frequencies trying to find the one the man is using. He left a small black box about six foot from his actual location so as he speaks his voice seems to come from two locations. He is pretty sure he knows who this is, but Batman did not train to take chances. "So, what brings the Avengers to Gotham, or is it just you and some other friends here?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
So yes, there was someone else on the rooftop. They didn't attack, so probably more friend than foe. Nonetheless, the archer's first reaction is to contact his team over the coms.

"Going dark." Which is probably a code for when someone is discovered during a mission.

Below, the dark SUV starts moving, and soon drives away. Whoever it was, was most likely on reconnaissance around the Bank.

Since the target is gone -followed by other agents in vehicles, the archer slowly stands from his crouched position as the bow in his hand becomes visible under the light from the Moon reflects on it.

"This isn't Avengers' stuff," Hawkeye replies as he turns to face the costumed guy. It takes only a moment, but a clear candidate comes to the Avenger's mind as to whom it might be. It's not like there are /that/ many guys roaming around at night in Gotham wearing such a trademark costume. "Robin, right." Not a question, a statement. "I guess you missed the memo about us being around," the archer says, grinning.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks over and says "Red Robin but close enough Robin is a bit shorter and stabbier." He corrects the man. "So, you sent out word that you were going to be in Gotham?" He asks, and waits to see if his computer ever comes up with any results not expecting it now that the other man told them to go dark. "I had heard there would be something here but you can fill me in more on what is going on here. His body language shows he is still ready for problems, but very slightly more relaxed as he keeps aware of the area around them.

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
With his back to the Bank across the street, the archer briefly points with his thumb in that direction. "I'm not in charge of public relations," the archer says, chuckling. "God forbid. But gimme your contact info, and I'll make sure to forward the memo next time."

As he speaks, the archer grabs a bag that was at his feet. "We've got intel that the Bank is targeted by the Russian mob," Hawkeye explains more seriously this time, knowing that this is Gotham after all, not /his/ natural territory.

"We'll make sure to pass the info. Intel was hot and needed immediate action. But hey, the big boom isn't for tonight, they were just checking around, probably assessing the security network."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and nods "Probably Popov's men." He comments giving a name to at least one of the Russians involved in crime here in the area. He does reach down and pulls out a red and black business card, and with a flick of the wrist sends it towards Hawkeye. While he may not be to the standard of the archer he does have some practice throwing things. "So, you going to tell me who your working with or make me figure it out afterwards?"

Hawkeye (Barton) has posed:
And the card is easily grabbed mid-flight. Hawkeye glances at it, always with the grin on his face, "Dang, why am I the only one without a business card?" The card is placed on a side pocket.

Starting to walk towards the other side of the rooftop, Clint nods at Tim. "Popov, maybe. They're just Ruskovs to me." Well, not sure he would say that to Winter Soldier or Natasha's face. Or maybe, yes, he would.

"Ever heard of SHIELD?" Clint asks, "They kind of protect the whole world. Heck, the Universe even." Beat. "Probably why the pay is so crappy. Good thing I'm not in it for cash."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and would nod his head, but in the moment Clint put the card in his pocket and his eyes were diverted he did the disappearing act. He has moved to a point where he can still see the man, and hear him from the little box he planted earlier. He nods to himself and looks like he may have to have Barb come over for a hacking party to see what SHIELD knows about whats going on.
