Cast of Characters: Rogue, Beast

Rogue has posed:
After a late shift at Club Evolution, Rogue finds herself enjoying a meal at Fred's Diner. Something about having a greasy load of meat and starch just hits right after working - even if it's not being used to sop up a stomach content of alcohol and the latter. She's simply enjoying a burger and fries, watching whatever drible of content they're showing on the television and minding her own business on a stool at the counter. Maybe even deciding now if she wants a piece of pie later.

Beast has posed:
Occasisonally, diner food is just what the doctor ordered. Not this doctor, but he's got a bad habit of eating what he wants when he wants anyway -- and he does actually do stints at the clinic. Those sometimes do go on to weird hours of the night; this time he's taking a break from being on-call, in order to fuel up and enters at a rather beleagered pace, dragging the heels and the spirit willing, to make sure his glucose levels don't tank. But one sniff of the air as he enters tells him familiar faces are here. With a glance to the tables he grins and rather quietly slips up behind her, to sliiiiide tiredly onto the stool beside. "Hope the seat isn't taken and if it is, well, I owe an apology to the person with invisibility issues, I fear."

Rogue has posed:
If only for the flash of blue in her periphreal and a knack for keeping her surroundings in check at all times, Rogue just gives a smile when Henry McCoy slides into the stool aside her own. "That seats only taken because you sat in it, Hank." She looks down at her half-eaten meal, knowing she'll likely be ordering that slice of pie now and then motions. "What brings you out to Mutant Town at this hour? I just got off shift from the club a bit ago. Funny running into you here. Sort of like an all gin joints of all the world moment."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy chuckles. "Well, you just finished, I'm half way through..." he admits with a grins and his bulldog underbite, then sobers a little. "The low-income clinic is running short of staff. When is it not? So I volunteered to take up a shift. Working their small ER, I'm on call in case of mutant related trauma. Sometimes the regular staff can't cope..." He gestures at the clock. "And I woke up, realized I hadn't eaten and thought I had better, just in case." He glances at the meal she's got, then nods to the short-order cook. "I'll have what she's having, plus a mega chocolate shake. I have to keep this figure trim, you know." Settling with a slight wince as he takes his feet off the ground and rests them on the foot rest, he glances sidelong at her with that fondness in his eyes. "How is Club Evolution treating you? It -seemed- like it's giving you some much needed normality."

Rogue has posed:
"Awful kind of you to be doin' somethin' like that, Hank." Rogue offers with a small nod of her head. "No doubt you might see some people from the club dependin' on how things go on an off night." Then she frowns. "Well it's good you're gettin' somethin' to eat. We don't need ya wastin' away on us." Listening as he orders what she's having, plus a milkshake, she nods because that's just what she would expect him to order and then listens to his question while catching that fondness in his gaze. "Yeah, it's been treatin' me nicely. Sam's a good guy, and he takes care of his own. I ain't had to do much rough with anyone - yet - and all told it's a decent crowd that shows up."

Beast has posed:
"Indeed. I'd be a little surprised if there was a beligerant element from the local populace. After all, the place is there to help us all get that slice of ordinary. Once or twice, I believe it's been targetted though, so I keep a weather eye on things there. Not that Sam knows, or even NEEDS to know." He grins as the milkshake arrives at least, taking up the straw and popping the cherry. Ahaha. "I have to have some secrets as to how I arrive so promptly, right?" He glances at the door as a couple of club goers do in fact pop in for a late night snack and replenishment of electrolytes. Well. Liquids anyway. "I think it suits you. Being the thing that bounces." Wink.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue takes a moment to enjoy some fries and another bite of burger while Hank talks, giving a nod and then a smile. "Don't worry. Secrets safe with me. And I have ways of signalin' if somethin' way out of the ordinary is goin' on yeah? I don't think Sam knew precisely the type of protection he was gettin' when he decided to hire me on." There's a grin then, watching as his shake is delivered and he eventually has a first sip of the chocolate goodness. That last comment has her blushing just a little while she reaches for her drink and takes a slow sip. "Plenty of ways for you to enjoy me bouncing, you know."

Beast has posed:
"My point, exactly," With a chin lift, Hank's eyes sparkle a glitter until... yes, you guessed it, the pager goes off and he groans, looking down at his side and at the little screen. "I have to go. They have an incoming as the closest ER. RTA..." He waves to the bartender, regretful in his expression. "I'll take the burger and fries to go..." slapping a twenty down, he chugs the milkshake and the inevitable look of brain freeze happens. "Nnnguh..." leaning back he takes a breath, then with a sniff leans in to kiss her cheek. "I'll see you back at the school. Possibly looking like death on legs, but we'll see..." grabbing his to-go, he heads out just as the pager chimes again.
