Synopsis: Willow and Buffy plan out how to try to find Buffy's missing memories!
Cast of Characters: Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg

Buffy Summers has posed:
Research.

This was not an area that Buffy excelled at. She could do it. In fact she was at the moment, sitting in the middle of the living room of the apartment she shared with Willow, surrounded by books and scrolls all around her in a circle of sorts. Except that one spot where she had a bottle of Coke. She kept the lid on it firmly when she was not sipping because if she spilled it on anything, Willow might kill her. Like Literally.

She had a large tome in front of her and was scanning the pages, trying to find anything that would give her information about what might have been wrought upon her memory.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow was late. Again. Which seemed to be more often than not these days. Though she had a real good reason! Really she did! And if that wasn't enough, she had brought pizza to smooth Buffy's feathers.

As if!

Buffy wasn't like that normally. Really she wasn't.

"I'm sorry. I was looking around the darkweb to see if anything was out there.." Willow didn't normally go so did, but for some reason this time she did. And with the computers at her job, it was faster. Much faster. "I got caught up in my research, and before I knew it, it was way past the hour I should have been done. I did bring pizza as an apology?"
Buffy Summers has posed:
"Nothing to apologize for, Wil," Buffy assured her immediately with a smile. She rose to her feet, shoving the tome aside as she picked up her drink. Then she carefully tip-toed her way out of her little circle of documentation to head for the couch. "Pizza sounds great. Hopefully you had a slow shift?" She wsan't sure if Willow had been at her work work, school work, or hero work. Any of the three, hopefully she had a good shift.

She moved to the kitchen to grab a drink of choice for Willow then returned back to the couch. Then remembered plates. And went back to the kitchen to get those. "Not like I found any answers, got to be honest. I have no idea how you do this all the time." She waves a hand at all the books and shakes her head.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Xtech today. I felt so guilty for quitting, I couldn't do it." It's not unusual for Willow to end up with more jobs than she has hours. Thank-goodness the owner of the small hole in the wall which had real gelato, and Italian sandwiches to go with their cappuccinos had recognized that, and put him foot down when she got the internship, or else she would have that one too!

"I got half and half. You can tell which side is mine!" Of course. "I thought that checking on the bigger, faster computers it might be easier?" The way she said it was enough to tell Buffy that she didn't get a hit. Not even close. "I guess that wasn't helpful at all, except now you know."

"How about you? Nothing? Like.. really nothing? I guess we have to break out the magic dooks and find the spell on past lives." Of course, Willow knows that past lives isn't /quite/ what they want, but she thinks she could manage to change a few words to get what they do want.

Ever since she took lessons from Tala, Willow was more confident about trying new things. Which may or may not be a good thing!
Buffy Summers has posed:
"They havent' gotten enough of that..." Buffy pointed to the books and scrolls. "Into computers yet I suspect. That whole secret stuff and do you really want to chance someone hacking into some of those spells out there? Some kid in their basement. Makes way too much work for us." Because it had happened and the Scoobies had to hunt down whatever was summoned.

She took her piece of pizza, taking a bite despite it being too hot and thus ending up sucking in air through her teeth in an attempt to save her tongue from scalding by hot cheese. She was mostly successful and put the rest of the piece on her plate to let it cool a minute.

"Past lives? I mean I didn't die again." She hoped. "Though what do I know? If I was dead, I wouldn't remember it most likely."
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Taking a cheese pizza slice out of the box, and sitting on couch, cross-legged, Willow explains. "In the darkweb there are often places you.. well I.. can go. And some of it is scrying.. sorta. It's hard to explain. But things aren't left out in the open, no."

Chewing thoughtfully, she continues. "You kinda were dead, but nothing unusual for you. I wouldn't use it for past lives, I mean who knows, you could have.. wait, were you Joan of Arc? Wasn't she a slayer?" She shakes her head. "I mean, use it for the basis of another spell. Past lives. Past memories. They are almost the same things. Just without the dead thing in the middle."
Buffy Summers has posed:
"I don't think that Joan of Arc was one." Buffy munched her pizza now that it wasn't so hot, enjoying the supreme minus onions and peppers. Pizza crust should crunch but nothing else on it should. "I mean, she would be busy doing all that other stuff so it would be weird if she was. I guess I should learn more about the previous slayers someday." While things might be in her head, it wasn't like she remembered exactly who she had been. She just had the instincts and fighting skills.

"I didn't know Past Memories were kind of the same. Thus why you are the witch and I'm just here to be aimed at things to beat up," she said with a giggle.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Hrm." Willow chewed on her slice. "You would know better than I would. But you have to admit, there was something unusual about her. Makes me wonder though."

Her first slice was gobbled up in no time flat. And the second one was retrieved.

Sitting back on the couch, she frowns as she tries to explain what she means. "All you memories are up in your brain. With everyone. But some people are lucky. You probably could meditate upon the Slayer portions to draw out your memories throughout the ages."

"That's mostly dead people's memories. Think about it. So to do a spell about memories is almost the same thing as past lives. Right?"

Willow hopes she has done A + B = C, where C=any kind of memory.
Buffy Summers has posed:
"Particularly in my situation yeah. Since they are in my head somewhere. Just not the conscious part."

Buffy considers that, taking a bite of her pizza and chewing. Once she swallowed, she took a sip of her cola before she continued.

"I can try meditation. See if that works. I know that Giles always said it was good but I never could seem to get the hang of it. Maybe if you can enhance that in some way? Help me with it with some smelly thing or icky tasting potion?" Not that she had taken many potions but she presumed they were all icky.

Though sage smelled nice. So maybe the smelly part wasn't so true.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow made a face.

"They're not all smelly!" Particularly the ones for protection. Though she had to say the potion for being someones else was kinda gross. Blech. "We can try with candles and rosemary, sage, and thyme to relax you. And low lights, d'uh."

"And if that doesn't work, I can brew you up a potion that will help you to relax and let the memories surface." After all, the memories were a real part of Buffy's past. She just has to relax, and face them. Now whether they would be passive, or worse, Willow could not know.
Buffy Summers has posed:
"We'll try it." There, decision made. It was worth it if she found out what happened to her memories. "And maybe I can answer if Joan of Arc was or wasn't a Slayer while we're at it. Cause now I'm all curious."

She grinned a bit and took another bite of her pizza as she settled in for some serious munching. "But not until after dinner. Maybe want to have someplace setup for it where if things go weird, we have safeguards in place too. We'll plan it. Backroom at the shop might work. Just need to clear out any weapons."
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oooo, I didn't think of that. I mean, the Slayers could be a bit more than you everyday meditation."

Willow picked the cheese off of her slice, and chewed it while stretching it out, making a mess as she did it. "At the Box? We could use the back portion of the store where normally you work out. And the bonus is it should be helpful for you to recall since we have put you in a place that is normal to be a Slayer in. Right?"
Buffy Summers has posed:
"Exactly. And it's pretty large and we can push everyhing to the sides. Lock up weapons in case something goes coo-coo up here." She wiggled a finger next to her head then went back to focusing on stuffing her face.

"I think we have a plan. We'll try the meditation, you can help with the scents and music and stuff. Or white noise. Or whatever is used." Obviously Buffy hadn't paid a lot of attention on the meditation training.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"No no, with music. Definitely music. Though what I am not sure of. We'll work it out. Trust me!" Willow was quite adamant about that."When though?"

That was the question. Afterall, Willow was booked if she admitted it. "Maybe Sunday? After your shift?"
Buffy Summers has posed:
"Sure, if you are available then. I can pretty much be avail anytime after business hours. So you pick a day since you're the one juggling the heavy schedules."

Willow had far more on her plate than Buffy these days. Though Buffy was hoping to go back to college soon. The problem was that she already had taken courses and she had no idea what she'd learned in them. Maybe this would help and it would give her a better path forward.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Sunday then." Willow nodded.

Not only was Buffy at the store (plus one for arranging a day when one of them were there), but Sunday nights were pretty much free. She wasn't at Xcorp on the weekend, and her usual day at the Watchtower was Saturday. So there wasn't anyway she would be double booking. Who cared if she had to stay up later with her homework - this was infinitely more important.. well kind of.

She'll figure it out later!
