Synopsis: Harry went out for dinner and managed to encounter the dark slayer as well as his brother.
Cast of Characters: Harry Dresden, Faith Lehane, Thomas Raith

Harry Dresden has posed:
Mac's is always a go to place if one needs to find the local resident wizard. Not everyone is looking for him, so sometimes it is just a coincidence. Tonight he has two steak sandwiches on the bar next to one of Mac's speical brews. His duster rests on the stool next to him and the place is a little crowded. Still...nobody really seems terribly interested in sitting too close to him anyway.
Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane isn't looking for anyone in particular, but she can always use a good stiff drink. Mac's isn't her usual haunt, but it'll do, and so she pops in, peering around, yawning and stretching as she heads for the bar. Business at Angel Investigations has been slow lately and she hasn't seen Thomas since they had some falling out over something or other.

She's flat out broke but in need of a drink and so she waves down Mac and asks for some cheap beer or other. Better than nothing right?
Harry Dresden has posed:
Just as he leans in to take a bite of the sandwich, Dresden notes the new arrival and manages to suppress a smirk when she asks for some cheap beer. He has the good sense and general politeness to turn away before he does. It has nothing to do with her financial situation and everything to do with the idea of Mac having a cheap beer. Once his face composed again he looks back the the sandwich and takes a bite of it. Ahh...cooked perfection.
Faith Lehane has posed:
"What the f****ing hell, you don't have any cheap beer?! What kinda f**ing ******hole is this dump?" She pulls out a couple of bulls and slaps them on the table, "Just get me whatever I can with this, at least enough to take the edge off, Yknow what I'm saying?" she notices the tall, scraggly guy, and hanging out in some of the same circle of friends from time to time, she might recognize him as 'that wizard whose name is in the phone book.'

"Hey! You're that Dresden guy, aren't you? Ain't this a small world." she smirks as she peers intently at him, sizing him up. Oh yeah when was the last time she crossed paths with him briefly? When she came to see Buffy at her old apartment? Or rather invited herself to the party? Somewhere around there?
Harry Dresden has posed:
He manages to get the prior bite of his sandwich down and then turns in the direction of the new arrival. Her reaction does draw a hint of a smile and he nods,"That's right. Harry Dresden. Faith as I recall." he returns in greeting,"The world is small and yet it always manages to be just big enough to cause trouble." He frowns thoughtfully and turns to take another bite of his sandwich while he thinks it over,"You work with Angel correct?"
Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane chuckles, shaking her head, nah, he wasn't there at that time. Maybe she just saw him on tv or something, "The only professional Wizard in the phone book huh. That's bold, ain't it?"nas she is served some watered down beer, she wrinkles her nose at it but taking a sip she realizes it's not as bad as she thought. "Angel Investigations? Sometimes, I'm on,y there part time. The rest of the time I pick up odd jobs wherever I can.." she frowns, staring at her beer, "Gotta say though, that amnesiac vamp at the graveyard the other day was something else. Since when do vamps forget what they are? Wonder if it's related to Buffy losing specific memories..?"
Harry Dresden has posed:
"Hide in plain sight and still get the people that need help." he admits with a shrug. He takes a drink of his beer and sighs to himself. He nods to Mac and indicates his drink. Two fingers a raised and one is pointed in her direction,"I can't stand that watered down stuff." he admits,"It pains me to see others suffer with it. As for the employment, I do investigations as well, so if you find yourself short on work, my office is across the road. I won't make you rich, but it might help make ends meet.
Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane frowns, shaking her head. "Nah, I've seen vamps play the helpless card, try an' get our guard down..But this girl..She didn't even put up a fight." she frowns at her beer. "Begged fir mercy with her dying breath." looking at Harry she just laughs and shakes her head. "You want me to pay you to do my job? nah, but you can always come along for the ride!" she grins and winks at him before glancing at her ringing phone with a friend. "Well Damn, forgot about that. I gotta go..Seeya around maybe!" she waves as she hops to her feet, finishing the last of her beer before she does.
Thomas Raith has posed:
So why would Thomas come to Macs? After all he owns his own night club. Well first of all, he only sells the best and when it comes to beer, McAnally's sells the best. Secondly... Well it's where he is likely to run into Harry outside of his office. He hadn't expected to see Faith, they hadn't talked in days... but as the Dark Slayer was rushing away he didn't pursue.
Harry Dresden has posed:
As she prepares to leave, he seems to catch up on something she said. He starts to turn go to that comment, but her departure puts an end to that. He watches her go (not creepily thanks) and gets another bite of his sandwich. His eyes move to the arrival and he nods. Too many people moving around of a sudden.
Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane seems to be suddenly in a hurry for some reason and doesn't even notice Thomas as she brushes past him and heads out the door, muttering and cursing to herself about...Something or other..
Thomas Raith has posed:
Business before pleasure, Thomas walks over to Mac. Eight cases of beer are paid for and Smash , Thomas's heavily tattoo'd chef is pointed to the down stairs area where they are being stored. Thomas then pays for two more bottles and a steak sandwhich before heading over to where his brother sits. "I have to say, Mac really doesn't care much about the sort of clientel he lets in here does he?" He asks with a wolfish grin. He offers one of the beers and adds, "Buy you one."
Harry Dresden has posed:
Business first is always important. He finishes the sandwich he is eating and pulls the other infront of him. He studies the departing chef a moment and then looks to his brother. The offer of a drink is always a good thing and takes the one offered. He raises it towards Thomas and nods,"Don't let anyone ever tell you aren't a good brother."
Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith shrugs slightly. "I have my moments. To be fair I /did/ push your girlfriend in front of a pack of slavering Red Courtiers so I'm not /that/ good." he says amused. He doesn't sit, since he'll have to get up again anyway when Mac finishes his sandwhich. "How is the city treating you now that you are back?
Harry Dresden has posed:
He takes a drink of the beer and nods,"I didn't say there weren't times I hadn't considered a fireball for your troubles." he admits. He reaches for his second sandwich and admits,"It is quiet getting back into the swing of things. Mister has asserted his dominance to the house and made sure Mouse knows his place."
Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith chuckles as he sees Mac's signal and goes to fetch his own sandwhich while Smash transports the beer from Mac's celler to his van. The place isn't the same without him. Went to load up my laptop, and it didn't feel right not having to move sixty pounds of cat first." He says with a grin.
Harry Dresden has posed:
"You'll start to waste away, not having to move that kind of weight regularly." he warns and takes another bite of his sandwich. He looks back towards where the dark slayer had exited and he muses thoughtfully,"Faith mentioned running into a vampire with missing memories, said she begged for mercy before getting dusted. Peculiar."
Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith finally sits, making a slight face as he bites his sandwhich. He seems to consider his words carefully. "Be careful when it comes to Faith. You can trust her... at least I trust her not to betray you or anything... But she tends to leap and not bother looking because once you've lept what is the point. Kinda like some wizards I know."
Harry Dresden has posed:
"You met a new wizard? Which one?" he replies dryly and chases his prior bite of sandwich with his beer,"I get the ewary vibe off her as well. It is pretty clear she has a hard time trusting people or counting on them even if she might be friendly with them. There is a lot happening in her head."
Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith nods slightly, "we were getting close... but then some stuff happened and..." He sighs a bit running his fingers though his long black hair. "I thought she was starting to trust me. There was this thing at a horror convention. We saved each other's asses a few times... But lately it's like she won't even talk to me.
Harry Dresden has posed:
"Are you losing your touch of late?" he asks, clearly the younger brother teasing the older brother about his game. He takes another drink and looks at the exit again,"She might be afraid of..." he pauses and thinks a moment,"...catchin feelings. Is that what they say now? Falling for you is...well it is what it is. Maybe there is hope for her having good sense."
Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith chuckles a little bit, "I think allot of it boils down to Buffy Summers casts a big shadow. She and I were together a long time, and Faith always felt like she was competing with her. It was frustrating because honestly I wasn't looking for another Buffy." He shrugs, "And to be honest I think she was less afraid of /catching/ feelings and more afraid of admiting she has any."
Harry Dresden has posed:
"Could be you are right." he muses and checks the clock on the wall. A motion towards Mac to have the last of his food packaged up and finishes off the drink,"I actually have a client to meet with and see about making some money. It seems the world needs that to go around."
Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith chuckles a little bit, "I suppose it does, unless you want to be crashing in my Wine celler again." He says amused and signals for Mac to bring two boxes instead of one. He gives Harry a quick brother;y embrace. "Be careful out there."
Harry Dresden has posed:
"Tempting, but no." he replies to the wine cellar comment. A quick return of the embrace and then he gathers his food,"Mac. I will see you soon." He looks back to Thomas and adds,"Don't do anything too dumb tonight. I would hate to miss out on the fun." He pulls the duster and heads towards the exit.
