Just another quiet day in Salem..Or Not

Location:	Salem Center, Westchester County
Synopsis:	Jean and Scott run into Magneto in town. More kids go missing.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey tends to frequent Salem Center for shopping trips and odds and ends...And the occasional gossip. Especially with the whole Yeti fiasco in the mountains recently, people are particularly on edge and it's all anybody is talking about lately. But she came here to check out some new thrift store that opened up and of course she just had to drag Scott out with her because it's a nice sunny day and the snow is finally starting to melt. "So then..Where's that new store gone..?" she muses as she peers around. Today she is casually dressed in blue jeans, a pale pink silk blouse and a warm jacket over top. Sturdy Boots help traverse the melting snow too.

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers chuckles hands in the pockets of his leather jacket with is atop a tight black t-shirt, blue jeans and black boots. Ruby Quartz glasses upon his face auburn hair slicked back. "I don't know Jean, this was your idea I figured you'd know where we were going." He laughs playfully as he takes in the area. "Everybody is so tense these days yea?"

Magneto has posed:\<br\>It wasn't too long ago that Magneto had sent Mystique in search of new members for the Brotherhood. However, in the short amount of time, a few of the mutants of Genosha had come to him with the information that some mutants had gone missing. Digging further into the mystery of the missing mutants, he found out that these mutants never came back to Genosha after travelling to America. For the most part, these mutants had travelled alone to see family, their human families. This was not something that Magneto approved of, but he wasn't holding the mutants of Genosha as prisoners either.\<br\>\<br\>Magneto initially tried to reach out to Mystique, but she had failed to reply. It seemed that it had only been a couple of days after reaching America, had she also gone missing. With no one else to rely on, Magneto had to leave Genosha in search of the missing mutants himself. Unfortunately, this meant that Genosha was mostly left unguarded. He hoped that nothing would happen to the mutants in his absence. He had to be quick to find the missing mutants so he could return home.\<br\>\<br\>After reaching the shores of America, Magneto headed straight to New York, specifically Salem Center. If he had no brotherhood to rely on, the X-Men would have to do.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey giggles a bit, grabbing Scott's hand as she peers around, "Oh Scott, where's the fun if you already know where the treasure is? We'll hunt around til we find it. It's not a big town. I think they said it was built where that old laundromat used to be."\<br\>\<br\>She peers across the street, eyeing the crosswalk light and begins to cross, tugging Scott along with her. "I think I see it over there!" Jean has yet to spot the Master of Magnetism, she's totally focused on finding that store.

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers chuckles following along with Jean. "You have an interesting sense of fun Jean..." He says with a laugh, his eyes scan the area, because it's Scott even on a day off and out with his Fiancee he's still a tactician and on alert. So it is that he spots the Master of Magnetism and pulls Jean back and behind him. "Jean wait." He says. "What do you want, what are you doing here?" He asks Magneto tone not white hostile but not warm or friendly either.

Magneto has posed:\<br\>In the hopes of finding members of the X-Men away from the mansion, Magneto decides to take a more aerial approach. By using his powers to manipulate the magnetic fields around him, he flies just over the buildings of Salem Center. As a result, it doesn't take long for the public to start noticing him. People begin gathering in the town and pointing up at him.\<br\>\<br\>From this bird's eye view, he quickly spots a couple of familiar faces in the crowd, Jean Grey and Scott Summers. He floats down towards them, and stops just about a foot off the ground.\<br\>\<br\>"And a good day to you," Magneto replies. "I'm just wondering why it is that you two seem to be having a leisurely walk through town whilst there are mutants missing?"

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey's eyes widen, freezing on the spot. Oh. Him. But is he here to cause trouble or...? She tenses at Scott's side, frowning softly up at Magneto. "More missing mutants? I mean, there were a few kids at school but they were found..Are there others then...From Genosha..?" she ventures. "Is that why you're here then?"

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers shakes his head. "What we do in our off time after we've completed a mission is our business not yours." He says simply. "The missing mutants were found and thus we can relax and take in the town. If you have a problem with this, that's not our concern. Come on Jean." He says softly. "Let's get on with our day, you wanted a day of fun and relaxation, I fear if we stay this will not be feasible."

Magneto has posed:\<br\>"I see," Magneto replies before landing down on the floor, this very little to prevent the attention that he has drawn. "So, there has been mutants missing from your school. Seems to me that you are not able to keep your students safe."\<br\>\<br\>"But yes, there has been some mutants missing that belong in Genosha. Before either of you decide to make a smart remark," he shoots a look at Scott in particular. "There were not on Genoshan soil when they went missing."

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey frowns softly at Magneto, "Our children chose to go hiking over the long weekend, it's not uncommon..We are more than capable of keeping ours safe, however it seems you are..Having similar problems of your own.." she could make a smart remark for that slight, but decides to keep her mouth shut.\<br\>\<br\>Hearing that some Genoshans went missing however, gives her pause,taking a step towards him. Jean has always had a soft spot for..Well, everyone who needs help.\<br\>\<br\>"Wait, did they go missing after coming here, to Westchester County, too?" she has a sneaking suspicion where all of this is leading.

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers shakes his head eyes glowing a deep red behind the ruby quartz shades! "Careful if you're looking for a fight I'll be happy to oblige you. We keep ours safe hell found them and rescued them." He says with a smirk. "You clearly lost yours and have yet to locate them! That shows that you can't keep yours safe." He then looks to Jean. "What's it matter where when or how? His problem not ours if he can't keep his people safe. You try and help even those who don't deserve such so often Jean, I love you for your big heart. But his people his problem."

Magneto has posed:\<br\>Magneto shakes his head, "Like I said they weren't in Genosha. I'm a leader of a country now. I'm probably making a few world leaders panic by just being on American soil. Legally speaking, I can only protect citizens of Genosha whilst they are in Genosha. Outside of that, I'm likely to cause an international incident. That won't stop me, but by standing here and talking to me, the humans are likely to believe that you are involved in a mutant conspiracy with me."\<br\>\<br\>He turns to Jean, "You had the opportunity to send someone more responsible with your students to protect them. Something that you neglected to do. I do not have that opportunity. However, I am not sure where they went. That's why I have come to Salem, in search of someone to help. Something like you, Miss Grey. I presume that cerebro still works?"\<br\>\<br\>Then he addresses Scott, "As for you, you speak with confidence whilst wearing those shades. If you so happened to lose them, I'm sure you'd be on your hands and knees searching for them whilst Miss Grey and I break this town apart.\<br\>\<br\>But, I'm not looking for a fight. Yet, you would turn your back on your fellow mutants?"

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey narrows her eyes at Magneto, not liking the implications that they were neglectful of their students, "You cannot speak of neglect, seeing as you have apparently neglected some of your own kind..However.." she sighs, glancing sidelong at Scott, torn..\<br\>\<br\>"It is..Concerning that some of your Genoshans have gone missing, however I do not think we can let you borrow cerebro..If they went missing while here in town, it is likely they are in the mountains..You have heard the rumours of Yeti in the mountains, yes?"

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers shakes his head. "Magnus you might want to keep your snarky remarks to yourself when you're not able to protect your own people. No you're not using Cerebro!" He growls. "Get over yourself!"

Magneto has posed:\<br\>"I'm tired of explaining myself to both of you," Magneto replies. "However, I have not heard of any rumours of yetis in the mountains. It sounds more like urban legend to me. If neither of you are interested in forming temporary alliances to save your fellow mutants, I will have to start searching for them there.\<br\>\<br\>Pray that I find something there. Next time I won't be so polite. Tell Emma that I will be seeing her soon."

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey blinks, stepping towards Magneto. "Wait..There is something you should know..Those 'urban legends' are true, there is something up there and it took our kids too. Probably your's as well. In fact, I did hear rumours of some hikers who went up in the mountains recently and went missing. They might be your people.."\<br\>\<br\>After a moment's thought, she pulls out a rumpled map from her purse, a large red X marks the spot of..Something important. "Here, take it, I am certain that that's where a lot of strange activity is happening lately. It's worth looking into and...Good Luck." she looks like she wants to do more to help, but of course that might be unwise.

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers shakes his head back and forth. "You need to realize I don't work with the enemy." He says shaking his head back and forth. "Jean you really need to stop helping the enemy." His eyes narrow at Magneto. "You won't be seeing any of our staff or team on your own Magnus, that's all there is to it."

Magneto has posed:\<br\>Mangeto takes the map from Jean, "Well, this will be a start to pointing me in the right direction. Thank you, Miss Grey. You are welcome to visit Genosha if you ever so desire."\<br\>\<br\>Then then turns away and rises a foot from the ground, buts stop to turn to Scott.\<br\>\<br\>"If I were you, I'd more concerned about the safety of my students rather than trying to keep the staff locked up."

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey blinks slowly at the invite, nodding slowly. Oh yeah, Scott would hate that but..There is concern for the Genoshans evident in her gentle eyes. Best not to answer that one though+. "You'd better dress warmly, it's pretty cold up there." now she's just acting like his mom. Sigh.\<br\>\<br\>As for his last comment, she reaches out to grab Scott's hand again, knowing he will probably react badly to that. "We will keep ours safe, please do the same for yours. I trust that they will be safe as well.."

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers growls reaching for his shades. "I've warned you once, I'm not going to warn you again! Watch your mouth and be careful to whom you speak like that too! Our students and staff are kept safe and unlike you we actually know how and where to do it. Keep your invitation none here will take it, you're lucky I didn't stop Jean giving you that map, considering anything mission wise is mine to sanction. If I were you I'd shut your mouth and take the little good will offered."

Magneto has posed:\<br\>Magneto smirks, "I will be seeing you." Then he returns to the sky

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey sighs, watching him go. "I'm worried, what does he want with Emma? " she frowns, glancing around, maybe anxiously anticipating anymore trouble. Who knows what might drop out of the sky. "But I'm more worried about the Genoshans.."

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers shakes his head back and forth. "Let him worry about his people. Genoshans are on his side which makes them the enemy." He says simply.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey frowns a bit at that, sighing, "And yet many of them are just mutants seeking a safe haven away from humans. Should we really turn our backs on them? And what about Wanda, Pietro and Lorna? They are his family and also Xmen.." well sometimes.

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers he shrugs. "They chose to be with us and limit their contact with him." He says firmly. "His people his problem I will not sanction further aid

Cyclops has posed:\<br\>Scott Summers says, "I'm annoyed enough that you aided him at all. We don't help our enemies."

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey nods and sighs, "I know, I know. Don't worry, I won't visit Genosha or do anything more. He has the map, it's no longer our concern right? Let's make the most of the rest of the day, it's still early." she smiles as she leads the way to the store.
