Date of Scene: 10 April 2023
Location: Flushing, Queens
Synopsis: Bizarro pre-emptively strikes against the Utrom Base in Queens, and he, the Pink Ranger, and Phantasm fight the forces of the alien invaders with the US Military, and destroy the forward operating base.
Cast of Characters: Shredder, Pink Ranger, Bizarro, Phantasm (Drago)
Tinyplot: Unstoppable

Shredder has posed:
Entrenched is a word. Queens Zoo is no longer Queens Zoo. It has become the site of a standoff. The US Military has quartered off the area for several blocks to civilians. On the other end of their barrels is the forward operating base of the Utrom Empire. Intergalactically, the Utroms are on the ropes, but locally, the Utroms have dug their heels in on Earth. Their true base of operations has yet to be clearly defined, but they seem determined to be here to stay.

The FOB has shields, it has plasma weapons, it has armored rock soldiers defending it, and now, it has new intel that's been received. The animals within have been genetically altered, creating a host of incredibly powerful beasts. An hour ago, there was some quantum activity detected from within, something is going on inside the fortress that has replaced the Queens Zoo.
Pink Ranger has posed:
Too many problems, not enough heroes...a crazy thought given the mutants, aliens and others around, but alien invaders mutating and making monsters out of things? Well, that was sort of a ranger specialty! With that and the struggle and the freaky alien sorts dug in? Well, Kimberly had been in New York and moved closer to investigate.

And call in the multi-colored cavalry if needed!

A streak of crackling neon pink energy announcing her arrival and the nano-armored figure of the 'Pink Ranger' arrived at the Zoo, perched on the 'High Ground' she could find.
Bizarro has posed:
Zoos. A place to keep things caged, or at least that used to be the way of it. Now it's more about conservation, preservation, and education. All things that foul up the whole Kindred spirit thing I was going for! Then again, This Creature was never kept in cages, he was kept in tubes, cells. The difference is fine yet present... but I digress!

Ever since the incident at Gotham, the fractured facsimilehas laid low, hidden away in one bolt hole or another. Not out of fear but shame, he had been tricked, used. He'd heard it in the Joker's cackle... how? He can hear everything. The heartbeat of the world, thosed damned watches. Like now, now he heard Pain. The pain of undesired change, the pain of becoming something worse and less than what you once had been. He'd heard enough, too much, it plagued him. He could stand it no longer.

Whatever joy the armed forces might have felt when a red and blue streak shot down from the heavens and into the FOB's forward fortifications were cut short just as soon as the dust clear. The Red wasn't Red enough. The Blue wasn't Blue enough. He was wrong, malformed, broken. This was no Super Man of any stripe. This was a monster like the ones the Krang were even now creating... only now he was hoisting a rock soldier over his head and rending it apart with his bare hands with a wordless roar of anger and frustration.
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Genetically altered animals.

NOT AGAIN.

When word of the situation got to Nick as 24-7 news networks make it so easy to do, two things came to mind. One: Curse up a storm because they just HAD to destroy members of endangered species by altering them to the point that the creatures will likely have to be put down later IF they can't change them back.

As if the galactic invaders couldn't be dickish enough with the invasion thing.

And two: With the advanced notice, put on some of his more specialized attire. Which, to be honest is no more than comfortable fitting pants, velcro shoes, gloves, a hoodie modified to conceal the face, and a bookbag containing items to be revealed at another point.

The trip over wasn't too bad. No present issues with powers usage, that made the trip quicker at least. The dark gray attired person ends up popping into view near the bright pink one. With the face masked, the only form of inquiry directed towards Kimberly is the tilt of the head. So much for stealth.
Shredder has posed:
As Bizarro decides to kick the nest, it's almost like a bomb that was ready to explode already. The shield isn't able to handle a man of steel level entry. But the response is swift. Even as the rock soldier is rended asunder, a magnus of light bursts from the walls of the Utrom fortification. Hot plasma, true plasma blazes from the turrets, 4500 degree beams of light which instantly melt the ground it strikes comes pelting out of the base, combusting the grass around as Bizarro's offense is answered. The gate snaps open at once, and three abreast twelve large humanoid bison come charging out, standing eight feet in height, arrested with armor and energy lances. One of them moves forward at Bizarro, a full force charge at the blue and red suit.

The other eleven move for the line of the military, and before the formal order to respond can be given, one of them strikes a defensive barrier meant to stop metahumans. It groans under the impact, denting severely, and the first bison has breached the line, with several more ready to follow.

Atop the opposite side of the offensive, a bladed figure stands, his cape in broad daylight watching the eruption below. The Master of the Foot Clan is watching, though as of yet he hasn't made any indication that he is going to enter the fray.
Pink Ranger has posed:
Plasma fire and dangerous bolts...another day at the office as it were. Well, time for Kimberly to join the mix.

If she'd spotted the Spiked and Bladed watcher? It seems her view was more concerned with the humanoid bison that looked more like one of the monsters she imagined a certain sorceress would reject.

A streak of energy fired from her power bow exploded in the path of the lead bison-man that was rushing the miltary line before she lept and landed, preparing a fighting stance. "Get back!" she called to the soldiers before striking out.

They might not be the most intimidating looking force, but between the martial arts skills and the infusion of strength the grid gave them? The Rangers had probably dealt with worse!
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Of course the one in Neon Pink would be flashy as well.

There's already a lot of stuff going on And there is quite a bit of reaction being given to Bizzaro and the weaponized Rangers. Which leads to a choice.

Does he take part in the battle, quietly leave, orrrrr...go a bit deeper into the zoo to see what all they have to contend with while the others are playing distraction?

He makes no motion, giving a nod to the distracted ranger. There's a bit of a shift to his form before he leaps off, vanishing from sight.

Option 3 it is
Bizarro has posed:
Washed over by the sci-fi plasma beam, Bizarro roard his anger and pain!, body going stiff as he was assailed by the intense, impossible heat! The roar terminated and Bizarro glowered back! His eyes, those farmboy blue eyes that might be the only 'right' thing about him gleamed with intense, blue light! Twin streams of icy blue light shot from Bizarro's face and strained against the beam... somehow! Beam physics in comics are weird! With enough glowering, Bizarro might just be able to encase the cannon in Ice! or at least, he might have had he not been buffalo'd by the Bison Man!

The energy lance drove into the backwards S, searing a hole into it as one monster drove back another. Digging his feet into the ground to bring the Bison's charge to a halt, somehow Bizarro 'gripped' the lance-head, hands sizzling as he turned the weapon away. Snarling his pain, a balled fist that could topple mountains came up towards the Mutant's jaw in a stiff blow! "You stay up!" Bizarro warned the mutant, "Me, Bizarro want hurt you badly!"
Shredder has posed:
As the Pink Ranger's bow fired at the Bison soldier and knocks him to the side, falling and being immediately fired upon by the soldiers who are holding the line to make sure he stands down. Bison 3 comes forward from there, looking to get vengance as he swings his energy lance at Kimberly, military rounds plinking off his armor as he comes with a battle rage. Bison 4 and 5 hit another part of the line, and an LAV opens fire on them, dropping number 4 before the fifth strikes and bends the barrel of the LAV.

Bison 1, which had struck Bizarro is ready to keep fighting, right up until he does, in fact, stay up. The Bison is strong, but he's not invincible, and a punch like that sends him flying upward for a good forty feet before coming back down, already dead before he hits the ground. This invites Bison 6,7, and 8 to change course, realizing that the man in red and blue is a significant threat, and they make a herd move toward him to dogpile the enemy.

Inside, Nick finds a rather organized formation heading out. A team of two cheetah mutants are bursting out, not nearly as large as the Bison, but incredibly fast.

Behind them are a series of other animals. One hippo, Two Elephants. A host of small humanoids, only about three feet tall. Merecats, hares, weasels. It's truly an army.
Pink Ranger has posed:
The sort of strength that could propel her up multiple stories or hoist boulders did tend to do a certain amount of damage when put into a strike, but Kimberly's was more focused on dealing with the bison squad. Weaving under the swing of the energy lance she ducks low and slams her gloved fist into the stomach of the creature before rolling over its back and attempting to kick out at the next.

It's only then that she looks up, trying to spot sneaky hoodie man and...failing. Hopefully he got somewhere safe, because there were bigger critters coming out.

"This just keeps getting better and better..."
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Oh for f-!!!

While this is not an ideal sight to see, Nick will have to grieve for the destruction of several species later. Right now he's got to figure out a way to stop the tide of creatures from getting out. The hidden musician looks around for some type of means to close the gate and, luck granting, keep it shut.
Bizarro has posed:
Bizarro yet sizzles from the initial blast, smoking, flames left burning at the edges of his cape, tattering the edge. He slumps, nut out of fatigue but because a hunched posture is his goto. Bandy legged and seemingly unstead, he fixed a bleary eye upon the new charge and scowled. It must be the blue, he thinks. Everyone knows bulls love blue.

Reaching down, Bizarro jammed his fingers into the pavement and dug in. He'd seen Superman do it. Snapping a sheet like it was a towel, using it to wrap up na'er-do-wells. He lacked the Big Man's finesse, however. Absent was the precise control and technique. So while in his head he saw the the street snapp and roll like a sheet being flung over a bed, what actually happened was a whole lot of concrete chunks being sent the troops way.

Sulking over his misstep, Bizarro simply barreled in with those heavy hands of his to engage in a short, sweet brawl!
Shredder has posed:
Kimberly's strike against the Bison 3 sends him back staggering a little, but he's not out yet, dodging the next blow and returning with a downward swing. He's clearly not remarkably trained, but he is extremely strong. The soldiers are not sitting idly though, as they unload into Bison 3. The next comes to join his ally, but before he gets there, he suddenly falls to the ground. Behind him, the Shredder has arrived, having severed the achilles on the next Bison attacking the Pink ranger even as the remaining four Bisons blast their way into the ranks.

Inside the gate there is a command station, governed by a brain-like creature with small tendrils. The Utrom is encased by a large robotic body though, standing as tall as any of the bison soldiers.

The three cheetahs burst through the gate presently, small pistols instead of large lances, and one of them replaces the three bison that are crushed by the stone. One is still alive, but he's certainly out of the fight, dazed by the impact. The cheetah flips a switch on the pistol, and it paints a little red dot on the inverted symbol of hope. Up above, a new turret emerges from the wall, and swivels to follow the dot. It doesn't seem to fire anything particularly damaging, but the red ray that comes from it has a different type of purpose, it's a power nullification ray, designed to remove Bizarro's alien powers as long as he's in the ray's light.

Several Rock soldiers prepare for their joining of the battle, prepping their devastating plasma rifles as they prepare to exit the gate.
Pink Ranger has posed:
A new arrival and a very brutal if efficient attack, Kimberly blinks at the Shredder's arrival before she weaves and ducks under the swing of the injured bison man before swinging her leg around in a hook kick intended to try and take the thing out of the fight.

"So uh...who are you, Pointy?" she questions before the next Bison about to swing at a soldier is whirled around on and a shot from her power bow sent speeding his way.

Okay, now there were cheetahs? This was just getting better and better...
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Oh this is going to get tricky.

Needing to distract the one at the command station, Nick silently moves down amongst the ranks of soldiers that are waiting for their turn to depart. towards the middle of the group he moves behind what seems to be the most tempramental of the creatures and focuses a sizable chunk his strength into punching the back of one of their heads and then repeating the process with another

He scoots out of the group to leave the creatures to assign the blame to someone else.

Let's start some infighting, shall we?

Shifting into position, he waits to see if any rising discord will distract the brain long enough from the panel for him to find and hit/pull whatever button/lever that closes the gate.
Bizarro has posed:
Bizarro was just putting down the last of the buffalo soldiers with a firm headbutt when he turned to find himself being pointed at pointedly! He's suddenly in the spotlight, the harsh, red glare of the weapon somehow feeling heavy! He sagged under it, looking at his hands and trying to find their strength! But there was little use. Just as soon as the ray had bathed over him, his solar-powered kryptonian cells had gone dormant. Still, it was not as lethal as say, blue kryptonite! Or was it red...? You can't expect me to actually read my own lore, do you!?

"You... stop.... Bizarro like that." he groaned as he stooped to heft up a basketball-sized bit of rubble... only to find it a trying labor! How did people live like this!? Huffing, panting in his powerlessness, the monster seemed to dip to his knees... Untill he found a Fist sized bit of rubble! Sapped of super heroic might, Bizarro was just able to send this bit of street hurtling towards the cheeta for what good it would do him!
Shredder has posed:
The Shredder glances over toward Kimberly, "Introductions are not my priority," he answers with a lacking of any levity in his voice. "These are well equipped, and it may be a unique opportunity to learn how to track down their origin to stop them from further attacks. I have reason to believe they have teleportation technology." He pulls a quarter sized disc from his sash. "If this can be put through the teleporter, we should be able to find their base of operations and put an end to this demon's nuisancery.

The Rock Soldiers turn as they are struck from behind, growling in rumbly tones at each other. It delays their deployment as hoped, their confusion of what is happening causing them first to disgruntle, then to become aware that something may be wrong around them, though they haven't yet determined the source.

The cheetah bursts forward, keeping the painted dot on Bizarro and casually dodging the chunk of rubble. A slash of open paw comes with the other hand, fast, not perhaps lethal, but one woudl hardly expect it to feel good. It seems that the painting of the target remains a priority though, as the cheetah keeps the gun on its rear positioned hand
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Damn it.

Not getting enough of a rise from the rock soldiers to draw the brain away from the console, the unseen Nick has to repeat his actions. Another target is selected and once more punched in the back of the head before he retreats.
Bizarro has posed:
If there was but one solace to be had it was that at least he could now only hear what was going on in a much smaller radius. So numerous were his super powers that it was like trying to get to work without your car keys. Oh, certainly, it was possible but you had to get creative!

The cheeta's claws rent through the washed out, blue attire with ease. Raking across his chest with the oddly, dog-like claws of the big cat. The wounds were shallow but painful!

Bizarro bellowed his pain, a hand clamping down on the bleeding wound. The machinery of his mind struggled, gears grinding and pistons struggling to move. The monster lunged forward abruptly, he was not Super but he was still a man, or... a reasonable facsimile of one! Hands sought to latch onto the mutant as he went for of all things, a bite! Blunt teeth trying to grind down!
Shredder has posed:
As Bizarro lunges forward, the cheetah retreats some, then strikes, misses, and is caught, capturing the two into a tumble. The painted dot moves off and the red ray follows it, giving Bizarro a momentary reprieve in the loss of his powers as they return in full while the ray is elsewhere.

The brain-like creature moves from the controls, shouting down. "Get out there! What are you waiting for?"
"Something is within our ranks!" the lieutenant of the rock soldiers declares.
"No excuses, get out there and destroy the human military hold!"
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As the brain moves away from the controls, Nick rushes over, skimming through the controls. A hand reaches back, reaching to the general area where the backpack was positioned. Upon spotting a red button that just screams 'OVER HERE' Nick takes a gamble and hits that button.

The other hand moves over to position itself WITHIN the console itself, not quite releasing whatever items he is holding on to just yet. But should the brain guy start to come back this direction to undo his work, he's definitely planning to release the object fist.
Bizarro has posed:
It's slow, the sound of the feline mutant hissing and snarling, the sound of his own hear in his ears as he tries to keep those fangs away from his throat or the claws from his eyes. Then the monster hears another heart beat, much faster than his own. It hits him all at once. The World, like a tidal wave. For a change, it's welcome! His adversary takes advantage of his sudden inattentiveness but finds his flesh much less yielding now... and the ground much farther away.

Bizarro hangs in the air with the cat, his lips worked into a crooked grin.

Good Kitty."

A single word of condemnation and the two of them are off like a shot faster than a speeding bullet!

The kryptonian cast-off might not be to worried about crashing through the power neutralizer but the Cheeta soldier might be a bit more displeased about the thought!
Shredder has posed:
The Rock soldiers obey, and begin finally making their march out, meeting the hailfire of the US Military. Then the door slams shut without warning as the lockdown button is hit. One of the rock soldiers loses his rear foot as the gate clamps shut like a bear trap, and he roars in pain as he falls to the ground. The others are too busy fighting to realize what's happened, but those who remain inside start pounding on the door as the station hits lockdown. The brain-like leader spins back to the controls. "What!?" he bellows. "We never should have let humans construct these, those incompetant, oily, sniveling bipeds!" He starts to try to undo the lockdown, though it looks like it's not as easy tu unlock as it is to lock.

Meanwhile the missile of fur and blue/red would be hero explodes into the ray gun and into the base. While the battle rages outside the walls, those inside look tot he destruction of the ray gun as the fight comes inside to them despite the klaxon of the lockdown ringing through the compound.
Bizarro has posed:
In the rubble of the ray gun, a figure rises, broad shouldered lopsided. Eyes shine blue in the gloom "Bizarro think you need to not go home." came the stilted, broken warning before the grey goliath breathed in, a titanic draw of breath that filled his lungs fit to bursting..

When he breathed out, science happened. Something about microwaves super-exciting the air molecules and causing it to spontaniously ignite. Whatever jargon could be strung together to justify it, the result was the same; Fire.

Bizarro breathed fire into the base, sweeping the blaze from left to right.
Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Once the door has shut, Nick releases the items in his hand within the device, effectively allowing things to lose their loaned ability. Bits of broken sticks become tangible, piercing through, and in some places merging with the hardware that was there prior.

One would hate to be the tech support person who has to deal with that mess.

With the tide stopped for now, all there is left to do is to hang back and do whatever he can to ensure they stay there until certain ...'bizzare' circumstances lead to the problem in here getting culled.

As the flames flicker, Nick is finding himself quite glad that he doesn't have a sense of smell when phantasmed.
Shredder has posed:
The As Bizarro ignites the interior of the base, the troops scatter, firing wildly while the Utrom leader for this detachment speaks into his suit's intercom. "We have a kryptonian and we are out of Utromium!" he croaks. "We need an evacuation immediately!" The teleporter is opened remotely, and he jumps through. Realizing what is happening, A few of the mutants and rock soldiers start bursting through as well. They know this location is about to be lost. Without the energy to fuel their anti-power devices, it's only a matter of time before Bizarro will destroy the entire location.
