Tea Time in Limbo
Date of Scene: 13 April 2023
Location: Limbo, Earth-1813
Synopsis: Illyana and Wanda catch up for tea. It is Tea Time in Limbo. Not Tee Time in Limbo. Golf is next week. Next week in Limbo is in the year 3572.
Cast of Characters: Magik, Scarlet Witch

Magik has posed:
Illyana has invited her friend, of which she admits to having very few, to Limbo. The indication was simple enough: Come by, have tea, discuss current events. What it probably will end up being is awkward, though it is unlikely the Queen of Limbo will notice and The Scarlet Witch wont mention it.

Because everyone pulls punches with Illyana.

She has, however, set out a delightfully rustic tea arangement.

In a grand chamber of her palace, where she very rarely goes. The room is surrounded by multiple books, like the Sanctum on Earth, but with a far darker ambience, because this is Limbo. Where Illy is seated in very plain clothing at the table, with her legs together and her hand in her lap. Staring straight ahead unblinking. Waiting for her guest.
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda does not worry about her arrival to Limbo, when one has the mighty powers over and of chaos that Wanda Maximoff does, a simple teleportation spell does not take more than a moment's consideration. Especially not when focusing on a familiar location. And a familiar friend.

Wanda has precious few friends herself. It is always difficult to make friends when one is worried about one's sanity, one's powers going out of control, and one's multiversal selves causing trouble.

But sometimes, one has a friend who merely /understands/. And so Wanda sweeps through a flaring scarlet portal into the grand chamber. She's wearing a silk robe, an ivory white that contrasts her dusky skin, and that auburn hair, which still has droplets of dampness in it.

She smiles warmly for Illyana as she nods, striding forward, her hands smoothing at the robe, keeping it behaving and sleekly clinging. "Illyana. My dear friend. You are well?" She glances about at the lack of ravenous demons.

Yes, clearly things are /some/ level of well.
Magik has posed:
Understands and potentially empathizes. Illyana has a true and caustic demon that reigns over half her soul. From which her powers have been amplified, through which she is able to rule over Limbo. One poor decision or over use? Things go sideways. Reality shatters and everything people know and love die horribly under the reign of a very demanding and exacting new Empress of the Unholy.

It is /good/ to have someone who appreciates this.

Illyana's icy blue eyes lift upon feeling the pull of magic that constructs the portal, but does not smile. Not out of any lack of joy, though it would be difficult to know what she feels at any one time or another. It's just... Illy. Hand gesturing to a seat across from her.

"They are fine, da. Stirring on far side of Limbo, things still under control, for now." Her accent weaves in and out, depending on the day, the year, or perhaps some abstract quantification that's near impossible to express. Tonight, it's very thick.

"You are well? You seem very trouble when I see you last. How long has this been? A few hours?" For Illyana? It had been. Only four to be precise. Time is different in Limbo.
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda nods and murmurs softly, voice almost serene, but mostly... dull. Controlled. That carefully affected distance, that thick accent in full control of her voice as it so often is. "Ah. Well, perhaps after tea I will release some tensions upon the far side of Limbo. If you do not mind."

Her lips quirk ever so slightly, a smirk as green eyes glint playfully. "Is, perhaps, a nicer accompaniment to tea than small sandwiches, yes?"

She laughs out and shakes her head, "Oh no, it has been many weeks. I am well. My meetings with the princess of the Amazons have helped. My discussions with Dr. Banner have... also helped. Things have been... under control." She sinks down onto her own chair and murmurs softly, "I always forget how... dramatic the time difference can be. People complain so much about the daylight savings time. As though that were the most troublesome sort of time change, yes?"
Magik has posed:
"Oh." Illyana doesn't always forget how different time might be, but it's easy to lose track. What's ten minutes, or two hours, when in the world beyond it could be weeks or years? Sometimes the reverse is true, however. Nine years passes in Limbo only for moments to pass beyond. Keeping track is very difficult and something that has become more troublesome for her than she cares to put effort into.

The very rustic teapot is brought up, pouring some into a cup near to Wanda. "I did not know your favorite tea, so I took one from Ororo's stock. She has many, does not need all of them." The pot is set down and a hand extended. "Could have sandwich brought. Cucumber. I am liking cucumber sandwich with tea. Perhaps pastries." Her lips quirk, thoughtful.

Then she shakes her head, "Nyet. Unless you want. I have no tooth for sweets today." Though this does not mean she's not paying attention. "Both are good choices for control of anger. Banner maybe more than Diana, but can understand going to Princess too. Is good that you are feeling better." After a short pause, "If it helps you, we can destroy far side of Limbo after tea." Another pause, "They deserve it."
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda smiles and inclines her head gently as she takes the offered tea and murmurs softly, "I shall ensure I provide my thanks to your weather goddess friend when next I see her. Without explaining how I sampled her tea." She brings the cup to her face, inhaling sharp and slow, basking in the scent, eyes closing, lungs filling. She holds that breath for a long moment.

When she exhales, one eye peeks open and she murmurs softly, "Oh, I do not think /destroying/ the far side of Limbo would be necessary. Simply some... curbing their excesses, yes? Put demons in their place, remind them that Queen of Limbo has sorceress friend who is not above getting into the mix."

And then she sips that tea slowly, a soft sigh escaping as she murmurs softly, "Dr. Banner is far more convenient, living down the hall from me, yes? And he is quite interesting. Ms. Prince is... somewhat harder to open up to. Very regal. Queenly."

One green eye peeks open again and she smirks slightly, "If, perhaps, closer to home than other queen I know. But... that queen provides fine company. And purloined tea."
Magik has posed:
"Whatever you feel is best for releasing anger." Illyana says of the difference between destroying Limbo's far side or just some of the Demons what reside there. "I hear rumble they are planning some insurrection. I have put off dealing with it because it has only been several hours, but soon will have to." She pours herself some tea then brings the small cup up. Very obviously mimicing Wanda, rather know what one does when enjoying tea. She doesn't get to do this very often, it's fair to say.

There's a flicker of a smile, but it vanishes into her usual neutral, near blande, expression. "He does seem like he be good company, da. Diana Princess too. Find her fascinating. Like..." Her blue eyes narrow thoughtfully, "Like oil painting found in old cave where men do not go. Only paint is still very vibrant despite time attempt to wither it. Also, very attractive." She sips her tea and sets the cup down.

"Classically attractive. Like oil painting." This is loop logic... and it's probably Illyana attempting to make a joke. "Nyet, she has actual citizens to rule over, have to be more Queenly. I have demons. They are evil and dumb. Usually just kill them.. couple good ones." She points at a shadow. "Like him." If there's something there, it's hiding.
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda continues to sip at her tea and murmurs soft, thoughtful noises as Illyana expounds upon their acquaintances, and on Diana's relation to... well, Wanda is no art expert, but she can see the thread of thought. Immortal amazon queen, very much like a classic painting and yet ageless and vibrant. Very apt.

She nods solemnly and murmurs dryly, "Yes, I imagine if Limbo's residents were simply athletic, martially-inclined women, would be much easier for you to rule without needing such extreme measures."

Her eyes glance, lingering on that shadow, narrowing, pupils gleaming with a scarlet light deep within as she _stares_ at the shadow. Eyes dart ever so slightly, like tracking unseen movement. "Well, is good to have some good demons. Ones you can trust to obey. I am sure I would enjoy meeting them sometime."

She sinks back into her seat, shoulders ever so slightly slumping. It should not be possible to relax in Limbo.

And yet when Illyana and Wanda are together, it seems if any two women could, it would be them.

They may just annihilate vast swaths of the landscape after relaxing. Such is chaos.
