I'll have what she's having...
Date of Scene: 22 April 2023
Location: Harry's Hideaway (Bar), Salem Centre
Synopsis: Two X-Men, a Southern Mutant, and Sinister talk in a bar, Jean joins and likely regrets doing so, unfortunately.
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Wolverine, Sinister, Cannonball, Phoenix

Rogue has posed:\<br\>After being pent up for several days from a run in with the Juggernaut, and then hiding out away from the Mansion for a day or two more after a fight with Scott - Rogue's out on the town again. Only this time, she's asked Logan to join her so that they both get out of the mansion. Do something together. That's what couples do right? Go out? On...like...dates? Or something? Maybe it's a meet up, like she texted him to find her there if he wanted to get out and do something. Cause at the moment, she's sitting at the bar at Harry's, sipping on a long island and looking over her phone. "Still nothin' 'bout the other day at the train hub. Guess that's a good thing..." Saying this aloud - maybe to Harry - maybe to no one in particular.
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> Logan did get the invite, but he's a litlte late due to other matters. sadi Matters Rogue knows about. He doens't call it fashionably late, but others could. Logan does keep Rogue int he loop of the siutation. She knows. she knows everything about how it is is going. Only when he's on his motorcycle does she not get some form of uptdate. \<br\>\<br\> The engine from his indian bike is loud, borderline obnoxious, but that's how he likes it. The engine anounces his arrival before people can figure it out. Rogue might hear the bike, if the place is loud enough, it may counteract the bike. Still, he'll slip inside the place and lookf or her. The bomber coat on his person, black tanktop and light blue jeans that hide some cowboy boots. \<br\>\<br\> Ocean blue eyes search the place just trying to sus out a familiar southern face.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>Sinister is not here. But there's a whiff on the air -- enough cigars, greasy food, coffee aroma and the lovely odour of spilled and old beer might hide it though. He's been in the vicinity for a while, perched on top of a church roof, looking over the town and doing... well, something. It's hard to fathom this particular mind, if he's involved in surveillance of an invisible kind. \<br\>\<br\>But it's been a day. A long day and a fruitless one, filled with a bit more paranoia than he might like. Maybe his entrance into Harry's is much for the same reason that Logan likes noisy smelly places, because it drowns other things out -- but either way...\<br\>\<br\>It's perhaps a minute or two after the hog's arrival that the door darkens with another presence, so feel free to pick up on that last of all.\<br\>\<br\>He looks around, storm grey eyes scanning the bar with a serious expression on his face, but not a diabolical one, That might be reserved for other times and other places (and other people!) -- Black leather frock coat, white T-shirt, black jeans, black ankle boots with silver'd toes and heels. And wings; large but folded, black as midnight but fringed in smoldering flame red.
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue kept checking her phone and responding to Logan until he didn't text her anymore. That's when she assumed he was on his way to the bar and of course he wouldn't text while riding his bike, right? Right. At least she's taking her time with her drink, mostly so she doesn't get sloshed too quick but also because she happens to like the flavor of it.\<br\>\<br\>She turns when she hears the door open and smiles as she watches Logan step in side, catch her place and approaches her. "Heya handsome..." Offering this before she motions. "Usual beer for ya?" Asking before going to take another sip of her drink.\<br\>\<br\>When the door opens again and Sinister steps in, she looks back but quickly averts her gaze from the door back to Logan and offers him a smile. "Is everything alright? Don't think I've seen much of you since your talk with Scott..."
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> "Beer me," Logan says in response to Rogue and he smirks. With him, it's less about "If" he wants a beer. It's more about "Which" beer he wants. He lets out a sigh, "First he tried giving me a speech that was part, 'Don't lecture em' cause I'm the team lead' n 'Don't lecture my girl.' I told him, I don't care whose lady it is. It was a bad call. He said she went with my decision, but I never said fer her to sign the contract. It's a perspective battle on semenatics, where a little bit makes the difference fer one person. But the other looks at it so broadly it don't make a difference," Logan pauses for a moment. "Scott has 'Daddy Issues' wit' yer therapist," he says pretty bluntly. \<br\>\<br\> And as if on cue 'Daddy' walks in. Logan looks at Sinister, "If ya don't sit down wit' Scott, I'm gonna tie ya both down in chairs n' make ya talk," he figures by talk it may turn into something worthy of the Steve Williams Show.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>Essex met eyes with Rogue, but otherwise did not do much else. A recognition, before he heads to the bar and slides onto the stool furthest from the door, picking up a menu and tightening the fold of his wings so that they're absolutely flush to his back. He spends a good minute ignoring what Logan said also, coming up with: "Just the mozza sticks, please, with a little marinara, if you have it. The kind with horseradish..." a pause "...and a Sloe comfortable screw." \<br\>\<br\>Yes, he is having cocktails and that one is always a fun one. \<br\>\<br\>Only then does he look from menu along the way to the couple, first at Rogue, then at Logan. "He would attempt to kill me over and over, or would get stuck in the same obliviously ignorant and falacious loop that he always does. The man has cloth ears and cotton between them."
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue rolls her eyes and finishes her drink. "Scott has issues with anyone that don't align with whatever mess is in his brain." Offering that much before giving a sigh. "I know he has good intentions, he just has a rough way of putting them out there... and I'm sure there's reasons why he's got issues with Sinister."\<br\>\<br\>And speak of the Devil...er...at least the Devil's boyfriend. Sinister is here. Once he's at the bar, Rogue glances in his direction, listening to his returned quip to Logan's words. "It'd be like watching two cocks in a fight with neither of them giving up or winning. A lost cause. Besides, Scott's determined for all of us - technically - giving Sinister a wide berth." She grins. "Not that I've ever paid mind to those types of orders."
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> "You two gotta work it out. Unless ya do somethin' to earn the ass kicking, I get the feelin' yer gonna be this neutral party. Someone that keeps showin' up. So, talk to Scott," Logan doesn't say the alternative because a Sinister that isn't well, Sinister, is preferrable to one that earns the name. And so, Logan may foster this neutrality. \<br\>\<br\> Logan keeps some of his thoughts to himself. It's due to present company. And he keeps that bit close to the chest. A question burns through his mind. \<br\>\<br\> "Right now, it's a standoff. We ain't friends. We ain't enemies. I can see the world in gray. Scott is black or white. No middle ground. Grays allow middle ground," Logan thinks Scott's thinking is a little primitive, but Scott doesn't have blood on his hands. Having blood on the hands can help people see the nuances of life.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>It can indeed and not one of the people in this room that are conversing at least, can say that they've got squeaky clean fingers. Sinister, for all intents and purposes has a Red Right Hand in so very many ways, the song might have been written just about him. "I could go into the vagarities of it, but I'm not sure either of you are interested, or would appreciate the anomaly." Essex replies, with a small sigh. The Sloe is put infront of him and he nods to Harry, putting down a twenty to cover his snack and refreshment. He looks back at the couple. \<br\>\<br\>"I've been a lot of things, in my years. Curious is a gold standard though. And although it does not seem to be the case on the surface, I've a fatherly side, which you have picked up on, Logan. The trouble is, manifold and I admit, I've not always parented in a particularly kind way. But I have always managed to be.... how shall I say it... encouraging?" \<br\>\<br\>He takes a sip of his drink, sucks his teeth at the flavour and seems satisfied enough. "I don't know how much you both know of Scott's childhood. He and Alex were orphaned, of course. For a bit, I had both in my care. Alex moved into foster care in a rare instance of me losing the thread an I lost him for a good while - Scott? Well, the reason he has any control over his power is my research. But he's never forgiven me for well... unfortunately being myself."
Rogue has posed:\<br\>"A lot of folks seem to forget where they came from, or how they got where they are today..." Rogue offers. "Or try to keep it in the past where it should belong." Continuing there and then she motions to Harry for another drink. "Shirley temple, with gin." A hand lifts and she runs it through her hair - which is down for the evening.\<br\>\<br\>"Always a neutral party unless the road diverges...and like Sinister's says...ain't a one of us got the cleanest of hands. That includes me." Then she sits up a bit and shakes her head. "Can we drop the shop talk? I really don't want it to cloud up the whole reason why we're out.." She's looking at Logan then. "Far be it from me to ever expect any normal in the lives of us mutants, but can't we just pretend that we've got normal lives for one cotton pickin' night?"
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> Logan just pauses listening about Scott's childhood. His gaze goes to Sinister, "Can't say I blame him fer some of it. When it comes to you, yer always gonna be trouble in his mind. Even when ya don't mean to be," Logan isn't sure if Sinister can redeem himself. He just sees the man as neutral, for now. Maybe that could change, but Sinister always talks about himself being simply himself. He thinks at some point there would be an issue with that. That's the day something -has- to hapepn. Until that day, Logan's willing to live in this Mexican Standoff. \<br\>\<br\> Taking his beer, he looks to Rogue for a moment. "Yer the one that asked me 'bout the talk," Logan points out and then he takes a pull from his beer bottle. \<br\>\<br\> Then he looks forward, "Weekend plans? I'd just work on the Bike," he regrains from saying "The Indian" because that term turns head, even if his bike is an Indian. Peopel forget about that brand.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>Sinister makes a pantomime of zipping his lip, then turning an invisible key and flicking it away. Perfectly comfortable it seems, with ignoring shop talk and going to mind his own business and his mozza sticks as they're delivered. He does give Logan a sidelong look to the man's words, but it lingers perhaps more at the surface thoughts. He looks away, closes eyes, takes a deep breath and picks at the meal. \<br\>\<br\>Fried cheese in breadcrumbs, how wrong can you get with that? The wings ruffle a little, the feathers all standing on end around the shoulders, then flattening with a whirr. He sets his phone on the bar top, taps it and starts flicking over the screen as he pores over what he's looking at, a frown faintly creasing between his eyebrows.
Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie comes walking into the bar. The young man has been out doing something but has a bit of free time, so figured he might grab a drink and something to eat. As he walks in he scans about for people he knows a brow raises a bit at who he sees but he keeps quiet for now.
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue scowls but then sighs. "You're right. I did. Now I don't wanna talk about that cotton headed ninny any more, so we're moving on to other topics." She offers this with a smirk. "Weekend plans? Ain't got none so far. Prolly just mope around the mansion like I always do. Maybe see if the southern boys wanna join me in making some food that'll keep everyone fed for the next few days. Or have a cookout..." She shrugs.\<br\>\<br\>"Your wings are pretty." It's not unusual to see people with wings at Harry's, since this is the adult hangout for mutant types. However, Sinister usually doesn't have wings so that makes one wonder why he has them now. Though she keeps the question to herself and then considers. "Harry, can I get a cheeseburger and fries?" Then to Logan, "You hungry?"\<br\>\<br\>The sound of the door opening -again- has her turning her head and she grins wide. "Sam! Come over and grab a seat. Haven't seen ya in a hot minute. Things good?"
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> "I would'a talked 'bout more pleasant things fer once," Logan teases. Talks of a cookout and frying things come out. "If I'm grillin' yer my bodyguard. Got weird last time I had a cookout," he takes another pull from his beer bottle. \<br\>\<br\> Rogue makes a comment. "Where the Hell did the wings come from?" Logan asks, plainly. This is new to him. It's not everyday someone gains wings. Logan may wonder if Sinister is somehow an angel and a bell got rung. Its Sinister's biblical company that makes him wonder the angel bit. \<br\>\<br\> And he'll respond to Rogue's question about hunger. "Make it two of each, but bacon on mine, too," Logan adds to Rogue's order. Then he looks at her, "Burger sounded good," he smirks at the Southern belle. \<br\>\<br\> Seeing a familiar face, Logan will raise his half-drank beer bottle to Sam. Just a simple greeting to the mutant.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>Sinister glances up at the door to see who it is with his eyes, even if he knew with other senses. Sam is given a look down and up, a slight nod then he goes back to looking over his phone screen. There's a grimace and a snarl of lips skinning back from teeth, a huff and he flicks an app closed, opens another and magnifies it out, staring. "Thank you. I think..." pretty. Well, they are that, if you're honest. Black, but seemingly lit up by flames from below, fringing each of the feathers in a limne of red. He glances at Rogue and Logan, back to the screen and he cocks an ear. Nothing got actually said, but... then Logan is saying it loud and proud. "Hell is exactly where they came from. They were a gift, of sorts. More a gift with purchase, I suppose. Unintentional side effect of an experimental treatment that was a resounding success. Anatomically, they're a little weird... there's an extra elbow and... this is absolutely not interesting to anyone except you, Nathaniel." That last little bit is muttered to himself mostly. He glances over again. "They occasionally require to be let out to stretch. If they don't, I get persistant... nagging feelings. It's most unreasonable." \<br\>\<br\>Another glance at Sam. "Mister Guthrie..."
Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie will stop by the bar to make his order before heading over to the others and says "Well seems Ah am not the only one out and about this evening? How are you all doing?" He asks, before pulling a chair out to find a seat. Nodding to each of them in greeting.
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue blinks and then smirks. "Right. Cause of course when you're dating Lucifer, himself, you'll be bestowed with things no one else can get." Offering this before she glances back to Logan. "The hell do y'mean it got weird the last time ya had a cookout? When did you do a cookout without me?"\<br\>\<br\>Sinister gets another glance after a moment. "What are you doin' this close to the school anyway? You're just a moment away from the wrong person pickin' up yer scent or brainwaves or somethin' an' the school sends out an all alert..." Offering this as she takes a sip of the drink now placed in front of her. "Shirley Temples with alcohol are just better..."\<br\>\<br\>A look to Sam then. "We're makin' plans for the weekend and venting frustrations. What have you been up to?" A pause. "Well aside from Sinister. He's just an idle listener I guess."
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> There's a pause, "So it's like havin' extra arms?" Logan asks as there's talks of elbows, well, extra elbows. He's just trying to make sense of it. \<br\>\<br\> "Doin' good. Go a beer. How are ya hldin' up, Kid?" Logan asks Sam. To him, most people could be kids. It's not a derrogatory term. \<br\>\<br\> A look goes to Rogue, "Yeah. Jean was there. So were some of the kids from the mountain n' Emma's kids. Someone was givin' me an eyeful" Logan is honest on that one. "I was cookin', drinkin' a beer n' givin' one of the Stepford Kids," \<br\>\<br\> then he taks another pull from the beer.
Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey has been pretty overworked later, with the Professor on a.n extended leave, she's been trying to keep the school in order and what not, while dealing with increasingly worse headaches lately. While she and Scott are making final lans on that much needed vacation, she needed to pick up some last minute essentials at the local town.\<br\>\<br\>Of course she couldn't help but drop by Harry's, maybe relax a bit before heading home. She steps in and yawns as she peers around! knowing it's a popular hangout for many of the Xmen.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>"Sort of Logan, yes..." simplified version, Sinister looks up a bit and into the distance. "Oh hush you," is said out loud. "You've had them since the beginning of time, I've had them a year. Don't tell me you didn't want to stretch them constantly when you were young in the universe..." He clucks his tongue, chuckles to himself (or perhaps to something only he can hear) and looks over at the couple and Sam once again. "I'm lurking. With intent. Actually, I've spent most of the day trying to follow a hunch and it's being elusive. So I'm triangulating..." he looks back at the phone "...but weekend plans and cookouts sound like they'd be lots of fun. Recipe for happy stomachs and all that." \<br\>\<br\>Again, the wings bristle, flick, rustle, then settle and he leans closer to his phone screen as if that will magically make things larger. \<br\>\<br\>"As to why I haven't set off the alarm bells... the last time I was here, I deliberately didn't make any effort. This time, I don't want to get lynched. Thusly, I am being radio silent."
Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit at Sinister talking to himself. Sam knows a bit about flying and even has studies with some of the winged folks, but thats not overly important. To Logan's words he says "Well Ah am sure, you can cook out without getting in to much trouble." He offers to Logan. "Just been doing a little shopping, finding ma the right present for mother's day." He answers Rogue.
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Two X-Men, a Sinister, and a former student have all conjoined at the bar. One set was planned, others came in on their own. The four of them are all at the bar conversing amongst one another and having drinks. And food, as the burgers Rogue and Logan ordered have arrived. "I don't think I know who they are..." Saying this to Logan in response to the Stepford kids.\<br\>\<br\>When Sinister begins to talk to himself...or answer himself? Though she knows he's telepathic so it could be he's got a voice in his head and he's decided to answer it out loud. Whatever the case may be, she tilts her head and then shakes it. "Sinister, you okay over there? Talkin' to the voices inside yer head?" Course, with what he says, she can always assume who it is that he's responding to, but she'll keep that gem close to chest for the moment. Let others sus it out.\<br\>\<br\>The door opens and that causes Rogue to look back behind her to see Jean walking into the joint. She turns back around and leans in. "Everyone. Shhhh. The boss lady's comin'!" Cause, you know, strong telepathic person who's engaged to the one they were grumping about earlier may be the EXACT reason why Jean has come here. Give them all a what for in concern to that previous subject.\<br\>\<br\>Sam gets her attention last. "Oh. That's nice. Didja find somethin' for her or still lookin'?" Not that Rogue has ANY idea what a good gift for a mother would be. Given her history with mothers and all.
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> Looking at Rogue and Sam, "Next time I'll just cook wit' nothin' on n' save everyone time n' horror," Logan says tossing out an idea that is outlandish. It -might- solve the issue. His gaze goes between them, "What?" he syas knowing they'll preobably disagree. \<br\>\<br\> Talk of Jean and probing the mind comes up. "Pssh. Speak fer yerself. If she gets in my mind she deserves to get there. She may not wanna be there," Logan knows his brain has a myriad of blocks on there. It takes Xavier some time to get through. \<br\>\<br\> Logan looks at Sinister who seems to be talking to someone He wonders if Luciver could be seen via astral projecting. Maybe Sinister is the only one that can see the guy? Another Hell gift? Visison of Sinister looking like Baphomet run through his mind and he shudders. Logan doesn't want to think of what Sinister with -too- many of these gifts would look like.
Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey is looking forward to a relaxing evening, maybe bring some food and drink back for Scott to enjoy..But as she nears the bar, she freezes, tensing visibly as she spies Sinister first and foremost. And..Are those wings? Jade eyes narrow warily on him, but she's smart enough not to create too much of a scene. It's a public place Afterall, and all are welcome as long as they are not here to cause trouble. Still..\<br\>\<br\>"Sinister..What are you doing here?" She peers next at Logan and Rogue, frowning softly, but saying nothing..Where does she even begin..One hand does clutch at the red crystal - sinister's crystal - hanging around her neck for safe keeping. It's only one of many reasons why she gives him a wide berth, giving her two fellow Xmen a questioning look as she hovers still, by the entrance.
Sinister has posed:\<br\>Sinister looks up from his phone, staring at the back of the bar for a moment, then refocusing with a blink and a glance toward Rogue, it's beyond her that his gaze fully focuses. Onto the Phoenix -- oh lovely. Grand. Well, now is the time to just be yourself, Nathaniel. "I'm having a Sloe comfortable screw, eating mozzarella sticks and trying to triangulate a local problem," he holds up his phone, flashes the screen in the direction of the door and idly wiggles it. "I needed a break from roof sitting." He tilts his head, watching her a moment, then tilts it the other way. The gesture is very birdlike, in all honesty. Might go with the wings. \<br\>\<br\>"I suppose I'm supposed to sit in my den of iniquity and villainous intent, doing more things to ruin any chance I might have of actually accomplishing some forward planning? I didn't get the memo on that."
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue takes a moment to dig into her food while everyone else is talking and answering questions. Washing down her latest bite of food with a sip of her drink, she's got nothing else on the mind in the moment except the fact that Jean has come in. She can feel those eyes staring, causing her to sort of shrink in her stool before turning to face Jean more properly. "Logan and I came for a bite to eat and a few drinks. Sinister just happened to come in shortly after we got here. He's behavin' himself. We've just been chatting about some things." Getting things off the chest, concerning a certain ruby-visor'd cotton headed ninny who has to argue with everyone that doesn't agree with him. Or at least, that's Rogue's mental recap.\<br\>\<br\>Finally what Logan said a bit before breaks through the mental rundown she's giving herself. "The only person you can cook for with nothin' on is me, in private. You start lettin' all of yerself hang out in the air an' we're gonna have a talk, cause that ain't part of our deal with each other." She then glare-smiles at him before giving a nod and turns around to take bites out of her fries for a moment. Though she finally has to say to Sinister, "It's a public enough place here. You ain't doin' nothin' wrong. If someone's got issue with it they can take it up with Harry."
Wolverine has posed:\<br\>"This is mutually assured destruction, Red." Logan knows Sinister can do nasty things, but the setting, lack of time, could equally help them. It's not quite a stalemate. However, Sinister would get some good shots in before going down. \<br\>\<br\> "Neutral ground lest people want things ruined in public," Logan says just feeling the hesitation from Jean before she speaks. \<br\>\<br\> "Noted. No cookin' like that," Logan says about cooking naked. Then he hears Rogue talk about Sinister. He knows this will cause some kind of further tension. \<br\>\<br\> "Neutral ground, he says. Sinister ain't done nothing wrong yet. Public place. Pick the time n' place fer our battles," Logan says knowing that a fight in a place like this may not do anyone favors. Despite being in the right, public destruction in a restaurant would paint the X-Men bad in so many ways. Optics are important. \<br\>\<br\> "Like I said. Mutually assured destrucion," and then he takes his order for the moment. He starts to remove and put on preferred toppings to his bacon cheeseburger.
Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey arches a brow at Sinister, keeping her distance and shaking her head, "Forgive me for old habits, Mister Sinister. I have not quite come to terms with this new you.." she narrows her eyes on him, trying to scan his mind but..Unlike before, all she gets is static, which causes her frown to only deepen. \<br\>\<br\>"If you are truly a changed man, a trustworthy one, then why do you cloak your mind from me? And where did you get those wings from?" she eyes them warily, shaking her head slowly in disbelief.\<br\>\<br\>As for Rogue and Logan, she just stares at them quietly, an unreadable expression on her face. "But of course, this is a public place, I want no more trouble than you do. However, remember that he is hardly a trusted friend of any sort, afterall.."\<br\>\<br\>So far she is keeping her voice calm. She doesn't sound so much angry as cautious, wary, maybe a bit confused. "Lower your guard around a largely unknown and you open yourselves up to attack.."
Sinister has posed:\<br\>Listening to the vocal outreach program that is Logan, Sinister exhales a long breath. It's not a sigh, so much as a steadying of the inner harmonies, so to speak. "Quite," he murmurs, nodding to Rogue and swivelling on his seat so that he can look directly at Jean, rather than sidelong from the bar. He rests his elbow on the edge of the countertop, dips a mozza stick and eats it before making any reply. \<br\>\<br\>"I think if you actually think about what you just said, and said in your own words Jean, you'll realize plain as day, why I am currently not broadcasting my presence to the world like a beacon. Your reaction is proof positive of why it would be a bad idea. You would have known I was here immediately and..." he holds up half the mozza stick and indicates with it, like a conductors baton "...there are individuals in these environs that want my guts for garters. The very first thing you do is question my presence and /then/ ask why you can't just delve straight into my head and probe around." He gives her a look with wide eyes, small mouth and raised eyebrows. See? "Vulnerable minds an innocent people are perfectly safe from me." He sniffs, gestures at the wings.\<br\>\<br\>"And these, to explain to you as I explained to the others here, are a gift with purchase from my partner, whom you are fully aware of...." and that. THAT point, is when he notices the ruby quartz around Jean's neck. "Oh, for the love of... what the hell are you doing /wearing/ that?"
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue has had a few drinks. Has tried to be so very civil when people bring up certain topics. It just so happened they all wound up being in the same place, at the same time, and were having a conversation. Nothing more or less, but something about the way Jean says things combined with their earlier talks about Summers has her southern hackles raised just a bit more than they ought be.\<br\>\<br\>"Why does it matter?" She suddenly asks, not only turning in her chair to face Jean but she stands up as well. "Seriously? You and Scott tell us to be careful, mind ourselves, give berths... but you two don't seem to take yer own words to heart. Mystique ain't done much good in her life, but she was there to help ya find those missin' kids. Juggy's been talked to, an' promises he's doin' better, but he still wound up makin' a mess of a train station and was stopped. And Sinister here..." She pauses, then turns to Logan and gives him a kiss. Not a delicate one either. This one lasts a moment.\<br\>\<br\>"You wanna know why I can do that? Muchly in part of Sinister. Cause he's the only one that's really takin' a caring to give me the help I need to control my powers. You all want us to hide behind fear and mistrust. That ain't how the world works. It's how the world wants us to be, but it ain't fair. And tellin' us to eggshell around our would be enemies is stupid. If Sinister was causin' trouble, I'd help stop it. If he's tryin' to be the good guy, I'd help him. Same with Mystique, and Juggy, and any other person who decides to take a good or bad turn. We were just talkin' about this shit. None of us got clean hands, all of us have done stupid shit, dumb shit, bad shit...and lookit where it's gotten us?" Then she flops back down onto her bar stool. Rant over, but she's mad and teary eyed. "I'm tired of it. All the fightin' an' arguin' and bein' told who I can and can't take the company of. I'm an X-Man first an' foremost, but for fucks sake, do y'all ever sit back and realize that we're also people, who do people things for the fuckin' sake of just LIVING."
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> Logan is still workign on his burger when Jean brings up the mind. "Sinister was talkin' bout it openly. I asked. Said it was from," Logan's not the best at coming up with nicknames. He will still go with this one, "'The Big L.'" Logan doesn't know this could be seen as an insult to Lucifer, but everyone tends to say "God with a 'G.'" or some emphasis. So, Logan is trying to give similar emphasis. \<br\>\<br\> Then Rogue kisses him deeply. And he doesn't fight it. Both of his hands go aroun d her, because Logan's going to savor that. The kiss ends and Rogue continues. \<br\>\<br\> Logan tries not to grumble at the unintended tease. Finishing his burger, he'll take a bite and listen to Rogue. Taking a few more bites. \<br\>\<br\> "Got some points," Logan says not really adding much else. It's a large number. Then Loagen will put his arms around Rogue. Then he'll look toward Jean. \<br\>\<br\> "Sinister ain't done nothin' wrong yet. We know that -thing-," Logan nods to the necklace she's wearing, "Ain't good. I think Scott should sit wit' Sinister, cause they got issues only those two can cure. And then if we catch Sinister. . . .doin' things. We hit em' like we normally would. Can't go after someone -before- they do the crime," he says just wanting to point that one out.
Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey peers long and quietly at Sinister as if trying to decide something, shaking her head slowly, "There is a difference between broadcasting your presence to the world and hiding in plain sight." as for the gem she reaches up to clutch it with a slight frown. "Was hoping I would find Emma in town today so she could help me analyze this. She's been hard to find on the grounds."\<br\>\<br\>As for Rogue's outburst, she just sighs, rubbing her temples, "Don't misunderstand, Rogue. I am not saying you should hide from our enemies, only that you shouldn't be sharing personal secrets or details with them." when she mentions going to Sinister of all people for help, Jean just blinks slowly, clearly surprised.\<br\>\<br\>"Wow..Did you ever ask me or the professor for help before going to him? Seriously?"\<br\>\<br\>She sighs, shaking her head, "Look, I never said avoid the enemy, but from Scott's perspective, his priority is keeping everyone safe. All we ask is that you let the rest of us know, and you don't lower your guard around them. You say Juggy's doing better? That's great. Doesn't mean you should find yourself alone with him or put your life in his hands.."\<br\>\<br\>As for Sinister, her gaze softens just a bit on him. "I...Did and still do want to trust that you spoke the truth to me, you and Lucifer. I want to believe that you are a changed man, but it will take time. Trust is a two way street."
Sinister has posed:\<br\>"Yes, it is Jean. Which is why when I came to you, I did so openly, via the front door, with zero guards up. But I'm not an idiot and as you say, trust is a two way street. I do not trust your school spirit quite so much as to wander into the danger zone unprotected." He taps his head then, to indicate his meaning as if it wasn't altogether clear. With Rogue's outburst though, he looks over that way and ... is that ... does he... \<br\>\<br\>Yes, he looks actually put out. Vexed. Sensitive even, to the sight of a woman crying, even if they are tears of frustration and restrained anger. He begins to speak, stops and starts again "...Rogue, this is normal. It will be normal, even until the day I'm ended, or you lot perish from old age. I can't undo two centuries of myself. I wouldn't want to anyway, it is the past. This is the present. And this is the nature of black hats and white hats... I... I'm going to shut up now and let Logan do the talking." \<br\>\<br\>Which in and of itself is a bit of a what the actual heck moment, to be sure. \<br\>\<br\>Pause, beat. "Logan, you really do need to stop being the reasonable one. It's wholely strange..." that aside, he looks to Jean again. "Don't trust me. Not until you can differentiate me from any others that look like me. I... am a lot more dangerous than you even think I am. You seemed shocked and surprised when you found out that there's more than one of myself. There are... many more of me, than you could ever imagine. I really want to explain, to express, but I don't know that you would believe, or if this is the time or the place for it."
Rogue has posed:\<br\>Rogue takes a breath, and then she flushes. "M'sorry. It's just..." Then she stops herself and shakes her head. "No excuses. I shouldn't have lashed out. M'just tired...for a lot of reasons." Which she isn't going to talk about openly here. She's likely already done enough damage.\<br\>\<br\>"Logan, would you mind bringing my leftovers home?" Asking this as she stands up again, reaching into a pocket - somewhere on her person - and drops a hundred on the bar top. "Should cover everything." So very like Rogue to explode, then just want to hide inside herself for a while. "M'gonna head back to the mansion...I'll see ya there." This to Logan before she glances to Sinister, says nothing and heads for the exit.\<br\>\<br\>Though it's at the exit where she pauses and looks to Jean. "Sorry Jean..." Then she heads out the door.
Wolverine has posed:\<br\> Nodding about the leftovers. Logan will look at Sinister, "I know. I'm scared, too," he says too being the senstive one. However, he will just make sur ethe 100 is enough to cover it. \<br\>\<br\> Thinking on it, "Jean. You should talk to Sinister. Just talk. Here. Neutral ground. Same fer Rogue. Away from the school," he says just pointing things. "I think it'll settle some ground. End some stuff that's gotta be ended," he offers.
Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey peers intently at Sinister, quite surprised that he is actually not trying to convince her to trust him. "Multiple..Yous?"she laughs, "And I thought I had enough on my plate with just two. I don't trust you, not fully, anyway. I do however believe in second chances, although it seems perhaps you and Scott agree on that point at least."\<br\>\<br\>She glances at Rogue! sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. "Forget it, you clearly had a lot to get off your chest. Get some rest.." \<br\>\<br\> Logan is given a surprised arch of the brows. "You're surprising me in all sorts of ways Logan..I'm not used to you being the calm, reasonable one. And you may have a point, however..." peering back at Sinister she frowns softly, "Perhaps, perhaps not. I need to think on this. Excuse me.." and she hurries out into the night, clearly a lot on her mind..
