Date of Scene: 25 April 2017
Location: North of Metropolis
Synopsis: Summary needed.
Cast of Characters: Cyberdragon, Raven, Psylocke, X-23

Cyberdragon has posed:
Despite the fiasco in Gotham John and Cyber have chosen to come north of Metropolis to the forest were he can get some practice in, doing his best to avoid anyone around him. Keeping away from the locals who are visiting the park. Of course that doesn't work out as some young boys had seen Cyberdragon when he was in the woods, flying between the trees and heading off down into the deeper areas of the woods rather annoyed and frustrated that he needs serious work on his stealth skills. So the children trying to convince their mommy they saw a dragon in the woods.

Raven has posed:
Rachel isn't dressed for hiking. It's hard to imagine what she is dressed for, with all that fishnet and black makeup and ripped, black jeans; maybe a night in a nineties Goth club. It doesn't bother her. She hikes stolidly through the forest, face impassive, mind closed, violet eyes flicking here and there as she takes in details. She'd never admit it, but she's here scouting for a potential place to take a date: she recently learned humans like walking or having some kind of physical activity to go with companionship, and if she's going to be doing that kind of thing, she wants to have the area chosen well in advance and mapped out carefully so she won't have to spare any concentration on that part of it. Just being around people is stressful enough.
Her mind is closed, so she doesn't notice you because of her psychic powers; she notices you because of her compulsive checking the area. Oh look, there's a...draconic cyborg up around the treetops. Of course there is. Why wouldn't there be?
If Rachel were less disciplined, she'd be massaging the bridge of her nose right now.

Cyberdragon has posed:
Of course the life in the area is more notisble able to sense the Bio-electrical field around him from animals and people. So he moves landing on a tree branch with a bit of clumsy motion. Not the graceful form one wmight expect as if he had his wings all his life as if he was still learning how to fly. His emotions are once of wonder as and amazement. Of course by now the Mother is on the edge of the public area convinsing her child to not try and run off into the forest to find the dragon.

As he sees the Goth Girl he tilts his head and concern comes through John, he contemplates just leaving, but he is more curious, and concerned. Goth in the middle of the forest? he really hopes this is not a case of attempted suicide as he begins to jump down the Tree Branches to get to a lower speaking level as he asks. "Are you alright?" his voice is metallic and organic mixed to one. The concern is there as his tail moves behind him vary slowly.

Psylocke has posed:
Being a part-time teacher at Xavier's School for the Gifted, Psylocke often finds time in between class to check her messages. From her time in the Hand she possesses a large network of criminal contacts and informants who keep her abreast of any interesting comings or goings throughout the world.

One tid-bit of info immediate snags her attention: a dragon has been spotted in Gotham. She exhales through pursed lips. This had better not be one of those thrice damned summoning ploys by a wannabe cult. She checks her watch before slipping out of school, and into the shadows.

Psylocke emerges from the shadows beneath an oak, off the beaten path. She had changed out of her teaching clothes and into her skin-tight gi while travelling halfway across the world. She keeps off to the side and scans the area with her violet eyes. The first thing she notices is a child in the middle of the woods, and then she notices the dragon. She narrows her eyes slightly, intently staring at the girl. There isn't something right about her.

Raven has posed:
There is indeed something not-right about Rachel. If you're bothering to scan her mind, you find an incredibly disciplined psychic landscape, a black void like outer space in which each star is named and fixed in place, with no wind or sound blowing through it, and the only path being a thin stretch of stone supported by nothing and winding unevenly, almost organically, through the infinite depths. It's not exactly a psychic defense--you can go deeper, if you need to, and you don't sense a counterattack or any layers of illusion to it--but more like an immense shore between the outer world and herself. It's just a calm and quiet so deep it becomes a moat around her mind.
Cyberdragon doesn't know any of that, though. Rachel looks up at him and cocks one black eyebrow, but only slightly; she doesn't want to dislodge the gem on her forehead. "I'm fine. How're you?" she asks, as if there's nothing weird about exchanging small talk with a mechanodragon in the trees.

Cyberdragon has posed:
If Scanned for Cyber's mind is incredibly human. His mind is concerned witht he young woman below him, he can hear in his ears causioning as someone he calls Cyber tells him that something seems off with the girl. Nothing clear other than the Goth clothing. As he looks down at her. "Not scared. I am doing well. I came out here to better explore my abilities." He seems to stay on guard, "So what brings you out to the woods, surely not to hunt dragons?" he asys with a small smile.

The thing about stealth is for those with normal senses. One can be utterly silent, have no scent to them, but they do have something that gives them away. The Bio-electrical field. Like a shark Cyber can detect it, and onless one can blend into the back ground field, it can make one very hard to detect. And with that he becomes aware of Psylocke as he lifts his head looking behind Raven as the dragon says. "We seem to have company." and that bladed tail of his whips a bit more actively. Now that he has been seen by two people he has tensed up keeping on alert around him searching his entire area for new Bio-electrical signals.

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke narrows her eyes. That is not a normal mindscape, and she quickly pulls out of it, rather than bother with it. She hears the dragon acknowledge her, and then steps completely out of the shadow. She is intimidatingly tall, and has quite a presence. She glances over her shoulder making sure her student is close behind. "It just seems like we're all on a field trip."

The Melded One refocuses her attention on the dragon and the girl, "Yes, we're all in the forest now. The question is, why?" She stares at the dragon.

X-23 has posed:
Shadow jumps are a... bracing... experience, and it takes a moment for Laura to regain her equilibrium once she stands on solid ground again. She nods at Psylocke once her senses stabilize, then does her best to fade into the background covering her teacher while she does the talking for now.

At the same time, Laura keeps her attention on their surroundings, from the dark-haired woman in front of them to the oddly scentless person perching on a tree...

Raven has posed:
Rachel spots Psylocke. Her keen powers of observation are definitely up to the task of noticing ninjas, at least when they step out of the shadows and announce themselves verbally. She flicks her eyes down Psylocke and firmly refuses to let herself be jealous of Betsy being able to pull off that look; then she takes in the girl much closer to her own age who's coming out of the trees, and starts to wonder if this is an ambush.
Well, let it be. She can handle herself. She nods a greeting at Psylocke (mostly to prove to herself she's not still jealous) and stretches out with her empathy, just...keeping her mind on alert in case anything happens when she turns back to Cyberdragon and says, "Let's just say I came to get a look at you and see if you're as great as the tales say. I did not believe them." Her flat, creaking voice makes it hard to tell if she's being ironic there.

Cyberdragon has posed:
Gripping the branch he is on tighter as his wings lift up some when the other young girl comes out as he was very shurt that they had not been there before. And this is voice to the human host. The Mental conversaion goes with the one called Cyber urging him to be cautious and prepare to flee rather than fight if an attack comes. Of course John agrees fully admitting that they are still too newly joined to hold their own in a fight yet.

"Well I came out here hoping to find an isolate area in the woods where I could stretch my powers and abilities. It's been five hundred years or so since I was last awake." The dragon admits. Then Addressing Raven, there is a clear smile on his snout as he says. "And do you now?" he asks, and then says, "Smaug I am not. Good books Lord of the Rings. Movies... decent. Actually I wanted to make sure you were not contemplating Suicide When I saw you. I am Cyberdragon." he says and turns his eyes to the young girl behind the woman who had just appeared. The bio-mechanical dragon's tail starts to move slower.

Psylocke has posed:
"Dragon tend to hide hordes of treasure, I hear. Maybe she is actually here to ..." Psylocke's eyes unfocus for a second, and then zero in on Cyberdragon with intesity. There are two minds in that dragon's body, and they seem to work together, or at least on the surface appear to.

Psylocke's expression hardens, "What are you." There is no inflection upward, as she is not asking a question. For now, Rachel's jealousy goes unnoticed.

X-23 has posed:
Laura is vaguely aware that there are cultural experiences being referenced in the discussion, but not what they are, so she lets them go over her head while making a note to investigate later.

When Psylocke's attitude changes, however, she goes entirely still, her legs tensing ever so slightly just in case the trouble her teacher appears to be anticipating comes to pass...

Raven has posed:
Rachel may or may not be able to sense Psylocke's tension (depends on if the telepath has her guard up); but Laura's is apparent, and she finds herself slipping into that cold place where Rachel goes away and Raven comes out. She stays on the edge of it, for now. Instead, her best idea is to try to defuse the tension by just continuing the talk. To Cyberdragon, she spreads her hands, showing she's holding no weapons; she's carrying no backpack; and her jeans, though cargo style, are still a woman's jeans and you can't really hide a pill bottle in them. "No. Why would I want to do that?"

Cyberdragon has posed:
Two minds yes, but one is heard through the hears of john. And then The Dragon stiffens and moves a step back. The other voice the one that only speaks words takes the answer as the voice says, "Older than you can imagine." John of course grips the branch very tightly his body doesn't shutter but he does open those wings. Now Concern comes from the human might as he is debating the fight or flight responce doing everything he can to keep his emotions incheck. Something important about that.

Taking a step back John is deciding that now might be a good time to leave and return to Stark Towers. He had wanted to get out and explore his new powers, his abilities in the open without risk to himself or anyone else. But it seems that the region is too heavilly populated to do that in private. "I have had friends who were into the Goth look, and they started to suffer depression when they began to fully embrace the mentality."

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke works her jaw in irritation, keeping her gaze on the dragon, and then over to the girl. There are two humans here, counting Laura and herself. This goth girl, doesn't read entirely human, and yet there is a third human mind present, linked with that dragon. Psylocke curls her fingers quietly, "I just have one question -- are you possesing a willing body, John?"

One doesn't need psychic powers to sense the waves of intesity rolling off Psylocke right now.

X-23 has posed:
Laura isn't psychic, but her ability to detect even subtle changes in someone's scent sometimes amounts to the same thing -- not that she'd need to smell the preparatory build-up of adrenalin or the microscopic shifts in her teacher's posture. She tenses in response as well -- she's not sure where the threat may come from, but that's why Psylocke is the teacher and she isn't.

Raven has posed:
Rachel sighs. What happens next is out of her control. All she can do is be ready. She drops the banter and just waits, like a gunslinger in a saloon watching two other gunslingers square off.

Cyberdragon has posed:
AS she looks at Cyber dragon John is mentally confused. /Cyber is joined with me not the other way around. Wait how does she know my name? / And it is at that point that it is Cyber that instantly figures it out as he bares his teeth and the words form in John's mind from Cyber. "She's a telepath!" And in that John's confusion comes and instnatly the desire to escape her hits him. The Wings snap open and in the flash of an eye he tries to take off even using plasma jets for added thrust and speed. Only a brief second to react before he rockets away breaking the sound barrier to escape....

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke suddenly explodes into telepathic motion. Her mind swarms in like the fist of God, slamming onto Cyberdragon's mind and trying to root him firmly and force him to not dart off at the speed of sound. Her voice booms, echoing in people's minds in the immediate area:

And tell me why it is so bad that I am a telepath, hm?

X-23 has posed:
Laura clutches the nearby tree, staggering under the intensity of Psylocke's 'shout' even though it wasn't directed at her. Her claws slide out of their own volition, biting into the wood to help brace herself.

Raven has posed:
Cyberdragon and Psylocke are on their own. They can solve the problems they create for themselves or not. What moves Rachel is the sight of Laura cringing against a tree like she's being tossed in a tornado, and she's crossing over to Laura with urgency, not particularly interested in her claws (she's seen weirder). "Are you okay?" she calls, ten feet away but rapidly closing the distance.

Cyberdragon has posed:
there are two minds at work here, John is paralized but the suit seems to siese up as he keeps screaming mentally "to get out get out of my mind!" The desire to simply keep his secrets safe who he is, what he has all of it the fact that he is joined with Cyber. So that when he is not joined trying to be a super hero, he can have a realitively normal life in public. That is why he doesn;t want to stay, the invasion of his privacy. There is a gap in his mind a space of time where thoughts and memories are cloudy, fuzzy as if he is missing several days of memory. But John is very young not even 18. Joined with an ancient sentient alien biosuit one that has been on earth for well over twenty thousand years.

Cyber on the other hand is not as limited as John as the Suit has a mind and will of it's own rises up to take off trying to escape. the wings flush down as he rockets into the attack on the host has exposed a weakness that John didn't expect. He is vulnerible to psychic attack, and right now trying to get out of the range of her powers. If there is one.

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke freezes, then her expression softens. A child. Someone who is afraid, especially of the unknown. Psylocke shakes her head gently, and then releases her grip, watching the dragon fly away. Even if she wanted to press her luck, the creature is already way too far out to interrogate. And for that matter, is FAR older than Psylocke. She makes a mental note, returning her gaze back to the physical realm.

Kwannon has a surprised look on her face when she realizes Laura is clinging to a tree behind her. A faint smirk comes on the psychic's face, "She's fine," Psylocke says speaking to Rachel, "I was more than a little indelicate with my activities."

Now, the X-Woman focuses on Rachel, "But you aren't what you seem either. Don't tell me you are also over 20,000 years old and have another mind bouncing around in that vast emptiness you call a mind." It's hard to tell if Psylocke is being insulting.

X-23 has posed:
Laura nods affirmatively, her claws retracting as she pulls them out of the wood and advances to join at Psylocke's side now that the need for subterfuge is definitely past.

Raven has posed:
Laura nods, and Rachel decides she's glad for that. Her hand had been reaching out to touch Laura's arm to comfort her, then paused because she doesn't like touching people. She could have and would have forced it to continue on to Laura's arm, but the hesitation really would have ruined the gesture. She just watches as Laura goes to Psylocke's side, unpleasant associations occurring in her mind of a beaten child going back to her parent before Rachel forces such thoughts aside. "I meditate," she explains laconically to Psylocke, then looks up at the trees with one hand shielding her eyes to make sure none of the rocket-like sounds she heard caused a fire. She doesn't see anything. Good enough.

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke folds her arms and leans to one side. Comapred to Rachel, she is Amazonian tall. Glancing over her shoulder, "Laura, what did that thing smell like to you?" Then, back to Rachel, "Meditating my big ass. If meditating got you that, the most dangerous group of people in the world would be a bunch of Tibetan monks, not the Hand." She pauses for a beat, and then smiles, at her own joke.

Psylocke extends her hand in a handshake, "Psylocke. One of the X-Men. We came to investigate, what brought you here?"

X-23 has posed:
Laura frowns, nostrils flaring as she tries to take in everything she can. "... Ozone. Metal. Nothing else," she finally replies.

Raven has posed:
Surprise is, by its very nature, the hardest emotion to control, and a flicker of it crosses Rachel's mind at that 'my big ass' line; enough to make her eyes flick down, as if she expects to see Psylocke's butt through her hips or something. With some annoyance, she seizes control of herself again (and is it really so bad, that losing control amounts to nothing more than a flick of the eyes that could be mistaken for just checking Psylocke out?) before responding to the offered hand not by shaking it, but by bunching the tips of her four fingers together and lightly tapping the inside of Psylocke's palm before withdrawing...at least, unless the ninja decides to grab her hand or something. Rachel is trained and has good reflexes, but there's only so much she can do.
"I'm Rachel. I was just walking." It's the truth.

Psylocke has posed:
If anyone cares, Psylocke is an incredibly well-endowed woman. Everything in all the right places, and big. Being almost six foot, as a woman, places her well above both of the young women currently present.

Psylocke stares at her hand when Rachel just taps the inside of the palm. She squints, and then just crosses her arms over her chest, "Very well. If you're 'just walking,' Laura and I are just going to walk out of here." She keeps a gaze lingering on Rachel, and digs into her pocket.

"If you ever feel out of place," Psylocke says pulling out a business card for Xavier's School for the Gifted, showing it to Rachel, "Know that you have a place where you can fit in." She flicks it over to Rachel, and assists it with a little telekinetic push to land in front of the goth girl, "Don't even wanna know your name, because to be quite honest with you, I don't think you'll take it, because of some 'I'm so special no one will understand me' complex your type has."

Psylocke smiles faintly, "Though if you decide to change your mind, the Professor can help you."

Psylocke turns on the ball of her foot (she even wears high heels in combat), "Let's go back to the manor, Laura."

X-23 has posed:
Laura nods, offering Rachel a brief wave before turning to follow Psylocke back into the shadows.

Raven has posed:
Rachel listens as Psylocke dares her to step out, then watches the card get flung to the ground in front of her rather than just handed. She looks at Psylocke curiously, with no real anger, and asks, "Did I make you angry, or are you testing me?" No idea if either will answer, not expectation of it, but she loses nothing except time by asking. To Laura, she nods gravely, and takes a moment to hope the silent (well, mostly silent) girl will be okay. She seems vulnerable, the poor thing.

Psylocke has posed:
Psylocke pauses, "The way you shook my hand seemed to imply you do not like human touch. I will let you figure it out." With that, the giant of a Japanese woman holds onto Laura's shoulder, and the step into the shadow as though it were a door and disappear from sight.
